The rural hamlet of Rogerscale is located in the western Lake District, Loweswater, Crummock Water and Ennerdate Water are only a short drive away and offer spectacular views and walking opportunities. The village of Lorton is a mile away and the popular market town of Cockermouth is 5 miles north with numerous, shops, pubs and restaurants. Keswick (15 miles) is easily reached by car taking the A66 which passes alongside Bassenthwaite Lake. Dotted with farms which are home to Cumbria's local Herdwick Sheep the area lends itself to those who enjoy wandering the fells which are often less busy than those surrounding Keswick and Windermere and reward you with amazing Lakeland views from their summits.

Located on the owners 28 acre fell farm with ancient Norman Roads to wander, these 2 charming cottages have been newly renovated and offer home from home accommodation. Pull on your walking boots and set off on your days adventure over the fells right from the door, from the summit the spectacular views of the Lorton Valley and across the Solway Firth to Scotland can be admired. If you are looking for a different adventure the area itself has numerous opportunities for mountain biking, rock climbing, paddle boarding and kayaking.

The cottage is heated with LPG central heating and comprises: Lounge with comfy leather sofa and chairs perfectly positioned to relax in front of the TV. Dining/kitchen with electric oven and gas hob, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. Triple bedroom with super king size bed and single bed.

To the first floor is a double bedroom with king size bed. Shower room with hand basin and WC.

All LPG, electric, bed linen and towels provided. Private parking for 1 car. 2 dogs are welcome at a supplement. Private decking area overlooking the Lorton Valley with table and chairs, the perfect spot from which to recap your days adventures with a glass of wine, chimenea. There is ample storage for mountain bikes, paddle boards and kayaks etc.

The cottage itself is welcoming and unique, as was the owner who we spoke to the next morning. We didn’t get there until late because of a storm and it was really helpful that the key was left in the door. The cottage had most things we needed for a couple of nights but a larger chopping board, sharper knives and a kitchen sponge would have been extremely useful for cooking and wiping down the kitchen. The bedrooms are very big and guests have lots of space. My daughter loved the large bed! The view from the veranda is amazing and I imagine that it’s lovely to sit out there in the summer. It would have been really useful to take the car nearer to the cottage. I arrived on my own with two children and a dog and had to make several trips to the car in the dark. I would definitely stay again if the parking was better or you were allowed to drive further up to the cottage. Overall, lovely and in a perfect location!

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, we have passed your comments onto the owners regarding the kitchen equipment. The views are amazing, as are the walks onto the crags. We hope we can welcome you back again in the future.
