We had a great time staying at the Thatched cottage. Walking distance to Wroxham main town.
The cottage was perfect for us all and the dogs. Lovely hamper on arrival and the cottage was beautiful.

The cottage is a modern thatched cottage situated in the town of Hoveton near Wroxham, and as such provided an ideal base for a Christmas break. The owners had decorated it for Christmas giving a lovely welcoming feel, and they had provided a welcome pack to get us started which included a Christmas cake. The front garden of the cottage is huge but we couldn’t let our dog explore on his own as he is quite agile and could have scaled the fence if not watched. (He can do this at home!) For less bouncy dogs it is ideal.
From our base we were able to reach the coast quite easily and had a very bracing walk on the beach on Christmas Day. It was lovely to return to the warm cottage to cook our Christmas dinner and enjoy a relaxing evening in front of the tv.
We would recommend a stay here, especially in the winter months as all the shops you might need are in walking distance.
To sum up, we had a great holiday and would recommend the cottage and ERC to others.

We have been trying to book Thatched Cottage for a while but hadn't found any convenient dates until a short break at teh start of December.
It is easy to find, with plenty of space for cars to park.
The room layour is quirky, and the snug is nice for some peace and quiet. It has everything you need, and had a nice christmas tree set up in the lounge to put us in the Christmas mood.
The Welcome pack was good, it saves having to go the the shop as soon as you get there, and being an ERC place there were plenty of dog blankets etc. and dog treats.
If you have never heard of Roys of Wroxham stay here! The shops are a short walk away, every time we go there we come out with something unusual. The home baked food is really nice too.
Plenty of places to eat, although a couple will allow dogs outside only. Fizz and Fromage, the Thai Way are recommended. Just up the road in Coltishall is the Kings Head, another great dog friendly place.

We loved our 3 night stay.
A very comfortable cottage with everything you could wish for has been thought of and provided. The kitchen is very well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker and a microwave, smart television in the lounge and also the bedroom, fully enclosed garden for our golden retriever, throws are provided for the large couch so that the dog could snuggle up with us. A short walk down to the quay and a 15 minute car drive to the beach
We would definately consider booking again

If you're looking for a beautiful spot to take your four-legged friend, this is it! The location is gorgeous, but what really set this place apart was how fantastic it was for the dog. It meant we could all relax. Plus, the hot tub was amazing! A perfect, hassle-free holiday in a stunning location

We have stayed at few East Ruston Cottages now and thatched Cottage is our new favourite. Paul was there to great us and the welcome pack left was amazing - bananas, apples, cheese, breakfast cereal, eggs, treats for the dogs, a bar of chocolate - honestly more than we expected. The cottage has a homely chilled feeling and we were all relaxed in the stunning lounge. We made use of the hot tub which was lovely as we really miss ours when away. The location was perfect and you can be at the famous Roy’s of wroxham in a few minutes walk for anything you may need. The front garden was perfect for our dogs but I would side on the air of caution if you have dogs that like to jump/escape or are reactive to traffic noise, you do however have the much smaller stoned area around back where none of that would be an issue. Beds were comfortable, shower powerful and the sofa had more than enough room for us and dogs to laze about on. Hoping to return next year!!

Beautiful cottage, immaculately clean, very welcoming - hamper pack and owner to greet us, lovely big garden with good quality outside furnishing, very comfortable bed and lovely bedding, very comfortable settee. Only criticisms were poor lighting in lounge and conservatory where the dinning table was: couldn’t read or see to eat. Also steps down to conservatory, our old dog fell down them a few times and it was a struggle taking crockery, cutlery and food up and down without a tray. Would have preferred table in lounge and nice seating in conservatory to enjoy the sun. My husband does have mobility problems which I do understand this is not a disabled cottage but it would have been helpful to have a rail by the outside steps going to garage area. He found the toilet seat was a good height which was a bonus but there wasn’t room to put his stool in front of the sink to wash, he managed by sitting on edge of bath. Overall we had a very enjoyable short break at a wonderful location.

We just returned from our third stay at Thatched Cottage, and it was, as always, an absolute delight. Paul and Lisa are not just hosts; they have become wonderful friends who make us feel so welcome and cared for from the moment we arrive. Their attention to detail in the cottage is superb—every room is thoughtfully designed and maintained to perfection.
Our two furry companions, Smudge the dog and Ollie the 23-year-old cat, also had the time of their lives. It's so rare to find a place that is so welcoming to all of our family members.
A highlight of this trip was the private boat trip Paul organized for us. It was a unique and truly memorable way to experience the Broads from a whole new perspective.
The cottage's location is a huge part of its charm. It perfectly combines the tranquility of the countryside with the convenience of having shops, the train station, and the river all within easy reach. There's always something to do. We're already looking forward to booking our fourth visit!

Another fabulous stay at Thatched Cottage! Paul was there to welcome us on arrival and kindly showed us around, presenting a wonderful hamper along with a delicious birthday cake. As always, the cottage was absolutely spotless.

This time our daughters joined us for a couple of days to celebrate my birthday. We made plenty of use of the fabulous hot tub, which they loved, and they quickly fell in love with Thatched Cottage too.

Hoveton/Wroxham has everything you could possibly need – plenty of shops (Roy’s), cafés and restaurants – and with the wonderful sandy beaches nearby, it’s the perfect location. We also hired a boat for an afternoon, which was fun (once we’d lifted our anxious Dalmatian aboard!).

On my actual birthday, Paul surprised me with a stunning bouquet of flowers and gift vouchers – such a thoughtful touch and very much appreciated. Paul and Lisa were the perfect hosts.

We’ll definitely be back!

This was our second time at Thatched Cottage and it was even better than the last time we stayed. We love the cottage and the area around it. So close to Horsey Gap, Cromer, Holt, Great Yarmouth, Norwich and not too far away from Wells and Holkham. Paul is a fab host, regularly checking we had everything we needed. The hot tub was a lovely addition this year. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Perfectly situated cottage near to the town of Wroxham where there are shops &eating places overlooking the broads.
Thatched Cottage is an immaculate one story two bedroom property comfy beds & a large corner sofa. It has a small courtyard garden at the rear of the property & a large garden at the front part of the garden. The wall isn’t very high & one of our dogs jumped over it.
The woods & beaches are a 15-20 minute drive away.
We would recommend this cottage & would stay here again.

This was our 13th cottage stay in the Norfolk Broads, but we normally stay in more rural locations. The property is immaculate and very well equipped and comfortable. We usually use our bikes with a dog trailer and this time we were able to visit various places old and new. We found the Bure valley path by Wroxham station was very handy to access various routes and new pubs etc. When we arrived we met Paul the owner who very kindly gave us a key to the garage to store our bikes which was much appreciated. We had a lovely relaxing week.

We chose Thatched Cottage as it was in an area where we hadn't stayed before, and it is predominantly on 1 level , as we have an elderly Goldie. It was a perfect choice, from the lovely welcome pack for 2 and 4 legged guests, to a warm welcome from the owner when we arrived, The cottage was very comfortable, and had most things we needed. We had mixed weather, but did manage to sit in the lovely garden on 3 out of he 4 evening with glass of wine. Thatched cottage provided the R&R we were after. Wroxham has lots of dog friendly cafes, etc, where our dog go very spoilt.

We had a wonderful stay at Thatched Cottage. It is spotlessly clean and so cosy and comfortable. Everything our dog may have required was also thought of. Dog basket, blankets, bowls, treats and poo bags
The welcome basket that was left for us was very much appreciated and catered for both us humans and our lovely dog. as it included a bottle of doggy beer! Unfortunately ours has a very delicate stomach so I thought it would be wise to not indulge him! but it was a wonderful thought. Paul, the owner met us at the property and was very helpful with lots of advice regarding places to go.

The huge front garden was great for walking our elderly spaniel around if he needed to go out , as he preferred that to the rear garden which was shingled.
The cottage is only a short walk to the town and we enjoyed walking down to the restaurants, shops and local pubs by the river.
Such a great relaxing stay.

From the moment we pulled up to the Thatched Cottage, we knew we'd found somewhere truly special – and our dog, Smudge, agreed! After two stays here Smudge thinks the Thatched Cottage is his! This particular stay here exceeded all our expectations and made for one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays we've ever had.
The cottage itself is simply stunning. The photos honestly don't do it justice – it's even more charming and beautifully presented in person. Every detail has been thought of, from the cozy interiors to the incredibly well-equipped kitchen.

But what truly made our trip exceptional was the genuine consideration for our furry friend. The welcome pack wasn't just for us; it included thoughtful treats and even bowls for Smudge. As we were celebrating 1-year since we rescued Smudge, Paul and Lisa treated him and us to a voucher to Wroxham hotel and a bottle of special doggy beer for Smudge.

The location is also perfect for dog owners. We enjoyed countless long walks, exploring beautiful nearby beaches and country trails.

After our adventurous days, coming back to the comfort of Thatched Cottage was pure bliss. Paul made sure that the hot tub was ready for us to use.

Both Paul and Lisa were incredibly thoughtful and responsive, ensuring our stay was seamless from start to finish. It's clear they understand what dog owners are looking for in a holiday, and they've truly created a "home from home" experience.
If you're looking for a truly exceptional dog-friendly getaway, look no further than Thatched Cottage. We're already going back here in two months time!

We have just returned from a fab week staying at Thatched Cottage, feeling relaxed and looking forward to staying again!
Paul was there on arrival and showed us around his beautiful cottage; the photos are amazing but real life is even better!
You are provided with everything you need (Paul even bought sun beds as the weather forecast was so good). Lovely welcome pack and even treats for Watson, our Dalmatian, as well. The hot tub is a must; so relaxing to come back to after long walks along the beautiful nearby beaches. Watson loved the huge garden, which has sun, front and back, all day.
Shops, restaurants, lovely pubs along the river, all within walking distance.
Thatched Cottage really does have everything, and more, you could possibly need for a truly relaxing holiday. We even looked to see if we could stay another week!

5 stars really isn't enough for the beautiful Thatched Cotsge. A home from home, - a peaceful oasis but within walking distance of all the facilities you could need on holiday.
Picture perfect on the outside and incredibly comfortable and welcoming on the inside. Everything you could need is there and the hot tub really is the icing on the cake! Perfect after all those long dog walks.
The dogs were incredibly well catered for with throws for the sofa, treats, a toy box and the most fabulous garden for zoomies! They felt instantly at home!
Paul the owner was wonderful - welcomed us on arrival and showed us where everything was and then checked regularly to make sure we had everything we needed as well as maintaining the hot tub.
A week really wasn't long enough so we will definitely have to come back!

The cottage was perfect providing everything we needed and more. It was the ideal place for a relaxing break for both us and the dogs and the goodies were very much appreciated and the hot tub was the icing on the cake.
It was perfectly clean and well equipped and the garden was just beautiful and relaxing with so many areas to sit with the boys and watch the world go by as the weather was great, and the enclosed rear garden was perfect for the boys to wander around freely.
The cottage isn’t just dog friendly it’s dog welcoming as you have thought of everything for the them, from crates, throws for the sofa, towels, mud daddy (luckily we didn’t need it), toys and bowls and the they loved the doggy treats.
The location is ideal just a short walk into the village with lovely shops and cafes/takeaways and a short drive to some lovely dog friendly beaches. We even saw hundreds of seals which was an amazing sight.
We enjoyed our stay so much we didn’t want to leave.

We had a lovely time at Thatched cottage ,the cottage had everything you need very cosy and comfortable x
The location was excellent not far from the broads and the beaches and of course the shops

I wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks for the wonderful stay we had at Paul and Lisa’s charming cottage. It was the perfect getaway, and we truly appreciated the warm hospitality you provided.

Our rescue pup Smudge had an amazing time and clearly celebrated his birthday in luxury. The cottage was incredibly pet-friendly, and it was such a relief to find a place where Smudge was so welcome. The thoughtful touches, like the dog bed and treats, made our stay even more special. And what a generous hamper for us! Thank you.

The cottage itself was cozy and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We particularly enjoyed the comfy and very stylish lounge, well equipped kitchen, everything was spotless and it made the day so much more enjoyable. It was a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.

Thank you once again for making our stay so memorable. We look forward to returning really soon, maybe in a month or so, and will certainly recommend your lovely cottage to our friends and family.

Absolutely beautiful cottage, Paul couldn’t do enough for us. Was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the space was amazing. Everything you needed was there and Paul was only a text away if we needed anything. The hot tub was a lovely way to end a day of dog walking at different locations and it’s only a couple of minutes walk into Wroxham. We had a fantastic time and would love to return.

We absolutely LOVED our short break at Thatched Cottage. The owners had thought of everything, and it was so clean, warm, welcoming and very well equipped. The dog beds and bowls were really useful. Huge comfy sofa, very comfortable bed, excellent shower, and the hot tub was just the icing on the cake. Very private and secure back garden, huge front garden perfect for non-escapee dogs! Great location with Roy’s of Wroxham a short walk away and some great eating places. 20 minute drive to the dog friendly beaches! Very highly recommend this lovely cottage and would love to come back. Thank you!
