Lovely little house, perfect for the 2 of us and the dog, the beach is 2 minutes down the road and it's your typical MASSIVE Norfolk beach with the Norfolk big skies, lovely. If your cars bigger than a smart car, then forget parking around the back! But there's plenty of on street parking.
Gardner's cottage evokes old Overstrand with a modern twist. Great location for the cottage a short walk from the lovely Cliff Top cafe and the beach yet well equipped whilst retaining its character. The village is welcoming and rather timeless helping the easy slide into a holiday mindset. With walks along the beach to Cromer, dining at the Gunten and Suffield Arms pubs a short drive away and visits to Sandringham and to Blakeney, the ingredients of a lovely relaxing break were in place. Our second stay but not, we hope, our last.
There is a little garden with garden and chairs which seem to catch the sun quite a large part of the day, so very relaxing and charming.
The cottage is located in the very nice Overstrand just outside Cromer. We have stayed at the property before & would do again. It has all you need to make your stay a good one. Just a few minutes walk to the local pub, beach. There is also a club next door which has drinks offer & I believe free pool (the pub game not for swimming). There is a local shop that sells a good range of produce which does close early evening. Parking is on the street, and we had no problems finding a space. It a really great place for an evening stroll. The actual property is peaceful with an outside area should...more
We had previously holidayed in another property on the same street, so knew it was a nice quiet road, although on this occasion there was a large hole and gas works directly outside the front of the house. The house is well furnished and we found the large bed in the rear bedroom to be one of the most comfortable we have slept in. I was disappointed to find the hairdryer supplied was a 'travel' hairdryer and not really adequate for styling longer hair. I would have packed my own had I known this. The bathrooms were very clean, however, in the kitchen the fridge was grimy in places, a...more
We really did enjoy our short stay. The cottage was well presented - clean & comfortable. I do think the owners need to at least put some hooks in the twin bedroom - there is absolutely nowhere to hang anything. I did put some of the coat hangers from the double room, into the small cupboard on the landing for my sister to use. However, that did mean we were shor of hangers in the main room! Hooks would have helped. Also,it would be helpful if you could advise details of the welcome pack/items provided in the kitchen. Washing up liquid/cloth/sponge etc. The tiny bottle of milk is useless...more
We had a lovely few days at Rectory Cottage. The house and interiors are in great condition. The beds were comfortable and the bedding felt really good quality. The house is just a couple of minutes walk from the cliff/beach and there’s a lovely play park there too which our kids enjoyed. We didn’t use the rear parking as we were always able to park on the street nearby.
We visited with our dogs to get away to do some work in a rural setting The cottage was perfect with a lovely garden in the countryside . It was only a short drive to the beaches and shopping in Cromer Our host was welcoming and we had a little pack with local milk and apple juice and snacks She helped sort out the internet so that we could work and watch Netflix The cottage was clean and had everything we needed All in all a lovely week was spent
