we had a lovely time in winterton-on-sea.Winnie was lovely but there was a very bad smell in the bedrooms, it smelt of dog urine so we ended up staying at my sons in Gorleston as we couldn’t sleep in that smell and i certainly would not let my Grandson sleep there. My husband sprayed some spray but it didn’t make any difference.We have stayed in many accommodations and never have a problem like this.

We had a lovely stay in this really well appointed and nicely decorated seaside themed lodge/cottage. It's on a site with other lodges, but was so peaceful (there were plenty of others on site, just didn't hear anyone!) The lodges are well spaced and Winnie has a small (shared) field in front. There is a bar and restaurant on site, food and service was really good, and the Tuesday quiz night great fun, challenging and well run. The village has a couple of shops and a restaurant but is so beautiful and the whole area unspoilt. It's really not like a typical holiday village at all. It's a short walk to the dunes and the beautiful beach. Easy drive to Horsey Wind Pump and Horsey Gap where the seals were on the beach. Also easy reach of Great Yarmouth if that's your thing, or Gorleston a bit further on for a quieter experience. Given it was high summer we were able to avoid the more crowded locations. A trip on the Broads from the Museum of the Broads was very educational and enjoyable, also uncrowded and under used, lots of stuff for kids there too.

everything was fine apart from one thing mattress was very poor in front bedroom, no support, i actually rolled off the end onto the floor

Thank you for our lovely stay at your lovely Chalet. What an amazing accommodation you provided. It was like home from home. You honestly could not of provided anything else in the chalet. We were just a couple on a short break. But you provided for couples, families, dog owners. Exceptionally little find. And the wildlife especially two deers that popped in for a walk around on Sunday topped our stay off. Thank you we will be back. Regards, Caryl and Barry

We had a lovely week at Winnie. The location was perfect for our dog and us, so quiet and peaceful and plenty of space outside to relax in the sunshine.
Within a short walk of the beautiful beach, the great pub, village shop, fish and chip shop.etc.
The owner has thought of everything to make a stay here comfortable and enjoyable. We didn't want to leave!
We will return....

Lovely little property. Clean, well equipped, good location. Site was quiet as our stay was outside school holidays but this property is at the edge of the site.

Perfect position for the beach and dunes. Very clean and tidy. Our one thing that was not quite correct was the lack of cupboard space for food, we had to rejig glasses etc.to put away the dry food . We are not ones for eating out all the time so we bring food with us to prepare meals. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay.

We booked a short break in Winnie - I have been to Winterton before but not stayed in a chalet. The location is fabulous - lovely views across open fields and only a couple of minutes walk to the sand dunes and across to the very quiet beach. The chalet itself is larger than we thought it would be and beautifully decorated. It was easy with the dog as there is plenty of open space outside. Beds very comfortable and loads of cooking utensils. Village pub and shop within a 5 minute stroll from the chalet. The chalet was very quiet - not sure if it would be busier in the school holidays but it was perfect for us. I would definitely book again.

Winnie is a comfortable and well equipped chalet on the Hermanus holiday village site, so nice we came back! It has a lovely big garden area (not secure for dogs and shared with other chalets but we only had one family with kids there when we stayed in school time so very quiet). It's great to sit in the chalet and watch the antics of the resident crows and pigeons, and a visiting deer (maybe a sika?). The village has adequate facilities - a small well stocked shop, pub, chippy and cafes, all within 5-10 minutes walk, and the dunes and beach too. Lots of dog walkers on the beach, and the chalet accepts dogs (not on furniture or beds) and provides for anything you might have forgotten like bowls, balls or poo bags. The owner is friendly and helpful if you have any issues at the chalet.
Good parking on site and it's a great area to explore, near to the Broads and many other beaches and small towns and villages, but quiet and sedate too.

We have just had another super visit to Winterton. Winnie was very comfortable and situated in an excellent location. Ideal for, visiting all of our favourite places.

First thing we noticed was the beautiful smell, in every room, even all of the linen!
The chalet is decorated perfectly with lots of thought. Being on the Hermanus site it had a great outdoor area which is always sheltered from any coastal breeze. Two minute walk to the amazing dunes and scenery. The owner was lovely and very accommodating. I also have to add the bed in the back room was super firm and I was so comfortable I slept from night one!
Will definitely be back ❤️
