Perfectly proportioned in every way, Goldcrest was named by one of our guests after the UK’s smallest bird. Goldcrest Lodge has space for two adult guests, an infant and a furry friend! (Dog surcharge applies) Small but mighty, Goldcrest is the perfect Lodge for an intimate getaway in the heart of the Quantock Hills, surrounded by nature and with everything you need (literally) right at hand!

Myself, daughter, and Grandaughter, were her to visit my mother, to meet her “Great Grandaughter” !

Goldcrest Lodge was just perfect, warm, cosy, and with everything we needed. With very good kitchen, and large shower room.
Just right for our visit to my Mum in Taunton. The covered porch was just right for stepping outside, with chairs and a table.
We had to cancel our originally booking, due to illness, so we were very pleased to be able to move the dates to the following week, all sorted without any fuss…and we were very grateful to Suzanne who organised everything.
It was very nice to meet , when she popped over to say “ Hello” .
We will strongly recommend Mill Meadow , and is a lovely treat , when we next come to visit my Mother.!

A father and son fishing trip which is now an annual event for us.

What a gem of a place we have found, a quiet tranquil situation, where one could relax and unwind and really feel the benefit of a few days break. A warm welcome on arrival, with facilities to make ourselves comfortable before unpacking, nothing like a nice cup of tea after a journey, with that added extra of home made Flap jack!
Goldcrest Lodge was snug and fitted out to satisfy all our needs. It was lovey to step out of the door and wander by the lake and further into the woods. listen to the birds and enjoy the many different trees and wild life.
We would not hesitate to visit again and to recommend it to our friends.

My fifth booking at the beautiful Mill Meadow. Such a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere everytime. All the personal touches make it for me such as a vase of colourful, fresh flowers. Every lodge is worth a stay. New garden improvements for Goldcrest Lodge are perfect. I/We will be back again I am sure hopefully with the dog in tow! Thank you again for a few days of escapism.

Our second time round at Mill Meadow and again, it didn’t disappoint.
Staff are lovely and helpful. Communication excellent.
Goldcrest Lodge is ideal for myself, hubby and our excitable beagle.
Added bonus this year was the tasteful fencing around garden area.
The hot tub was a particular favourite of mine.
Thank you all at Meadow View, we will be back, again!

From start to finish fantastic service from hosts. Welcomed with lovely gifts. The lodge was so cosy and welcoming. Great easy walk to local pub. Fishing on lake so peaceful. Hot tub was great way to spend our evenings.

Mill Meadow is a really terrific place to stay in beautiful Somerset. Conveniently situated. Spotlessly clean accommodation, extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need or want. Our stay in Goldcrest lodge, was one of the most relaxing and chilled holidays, we have had in many years. The team are so polite, helpfull and friendly. They made us feel like family. Nothing was to much trouble. They had everything covered. We would recomend this complex to anyone looking to get away and chill. Of course the fishing is great aswell. What a wonderful place
Suzanne and Chris went above and beyond to make our stay special , we visited for my partners birthday. On arrival my partner was greeted by a birthday card on the outside table with some lovely fresh flowers, then upon opening the door to the lodge a big birthday banner was displayed , on top of all that & with lots of thought gone into it , a nice chilled Sheppy’s Cider in the fridge which my partner loved. The lodge was immaculately clean, there was a nice surprise by the tea tray of homemade flapjacks made by Chris , they were delicious! Hoping to get the recipe soon.
Whilst staying at the lodge my partner thoroughly enjoyed fishing on the lake , whilst I was able to unwind and relax in the summer house. I have already recommended to friends and family & look forward to our next visit. Thank you to such a wonderful team

We had the most relaxing and chilled stay at Goldcrest Lodge, Mill Meadow - We couldn't find any fault and highly recommend a stay. We are very much looking forward to returning as we both loved it so much.

My wife and I stayed here on our wedding night. The cabin was lovely and perfect for our stay. Mill Meadow is in a beautiful location, set in the green and peaceful Somerset countryside, however Taunton is just a few minutes drive away for essential supplies. The accomodation is excellent - comfortable and with everything you need to have a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Great value for money, and next time I am in Somerset I will definitely stay at Mill Meadow again. (p.s. the fishing in the private lake is excellent too - just bring a tin of sweetcorn to catch lots of roach, tench and carp!).

We enjoyed our short break at Mill Meadow even though the weather was more like winter than spring. We appreciated the customer care side of our stay and the amount of information and support we received prior to our visit. We enjoyed visiting local gardens and NT properties and escaped the rain by travelling to Minehead for the day on the West Somerset Steam Railway.

From the confirmation of booking through to waving goodbye, we were made to feel welcome and valued.

Suzanne and Chris are the most amazing hosts, the lodge is very well equipped and the daffodils on the entrance porch was a lovely touch.

The lodge could be a little over looked from the road (a very quiet road) and by the neighbouring lodge. The lodge and outside area was very clean with the exception of cobwebs in the main room, bathroom and kitchen, nothing off putting though.

A lovely stay in a lovely area, we would absolutely return and recommend to family and friends.

Having always wanted to do a mini break away but never finding enough time - I was super happy when I stumbled across Mill Meadow during a Google search for a "hot tub holiday". My fiancé and I had a few things to celebrate and so we booked a mini break here in the Goldcrest lodge.

Communication was amazing from both the owners and our housekeeper in the weeks/days leading up to our stay and I was kept informed at every stage. When we arrived we entered easily and found our little home for the next two nights easily. It was very clean and tidy and very welcoming. Chris' flapjacks were delicious! A lovely touch was the Happy Birthday banner and the card, plus the bottle of fizz in the fridge as our trip was a belated 40th birthday celebration.

We had requested the hot tub and the BBQ to be available (yes - we are the crazy people who BBQ in the winter!). We weren't able to find the charcoal and tools for the BBQ. I wasn't sure if this had been forgotten from our initial booking but this was quickly solved by our housekeeper who found some and left them outside on the decking for when we returned after a quick trip out.

After a yummy meal we thought we'd take a quick dip in the hot tub which was wonderfully warm and relaxing. I can imagine that during the summer you are bit more shielded from the road when the hedges around the tub and lodge are more full but there was a privacy screen which helped so you didn't feel like you were being watched.

The bed was super comfy too and we slept very well. A nice chill day the following day. We went to the adventure golf in Taunton and then to The Swan to watch the rugby. What a lovely pub that was and we were both made to feel extremely welcome by the locals. Then we had a fancy dinner out before coming back to our lodge for our final night. Again - it was wonderful and relaxing and very peaceful.

We fully enjoyed our little break away and will definitely be back. The lodge and site were beautiful and relaxing and just what we needed to get away for a couple of days. Thank you Mill Meadow!

We stayed at Mill Meadow for the weekend with our 10 week old baby.
We rented goldcrest lodge, which upon arrival was beautifully made, clean and very cosy! The welcome flapjacks were delicious, bed was comfy, and Joe was really friendly and helpful. We had a complimentary BBQ pack, fishing rods etc. The lake is beautiful, and there are beautiful walks surrounding the site. There are a few shops down the road and take aways deliver to the lodges too.
Everything was perfect, we loved the hot tub too! We will be returning.

We stayed for a long weekend recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The service prior to arrival was excellent. A couple of calls from Suzanne checking our requirements arrival time and answering any questions. The Lodge is really well equipped and comfortable. The central location was perfect as we wanted to visit a couple of National Trust properties in Dunster & Tiverton. The 2 for 1 ticket for Hestercombe was also used. What a gorgeous place. Taunton has plenty of choice for eating and drinking. We loved Mill Meadow and hope to return. Steve & Tracey

What a hidden gem!!
We arrived slightly later than hoped on the Friday evening. But, we were welcomed with fresh tulips, a birthday banner and card for my daughter and homemade flap jack. The extra effort really made my daughters very happy :)
The lodge was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Also, equipped with everything you could possibly need.
We had the loveliest weekend with you and can not wait to book our next visit!!

My stay over Christmas at Goldcrest was a real treat. Mill Meadow festooned with trees lit up and a truly festive feel. Goldcrest was a cosy retreat in a lovely location. The lodge has everything you could need with a welcome pack including Chris’s delicious flapjacks. Ideal location for walks, fishing in the on-site lake or a stroll to the village pub. Chris, Suzanne and Joe and their team as ever the perfect hosts.

Would really recommend Mill Meadow, Goldcrest Lodge. Ideal size for us, couple with a small dog, and perfect location for days out and exploring the area. Hot tub was great to come back to in the evening. Local pub a short walk away through some woods which was also great for our dog. Suzanne and Chris made us very welcome and checked we had everything we needed. The Christmas tree on the porch, homemade flapjacks and local apple juice were all nice touches making our stay extra special. Looking forward to going back.

Greeted with home made flap jacks, milk and apple juice very welcoming.

Cleanliness was to a very high standard,
Well equipped everything you needed was there.
A lovely cosy stay our only wish was we ran out of time just a weekend away before winter sets in but will definitely return in the Spring for a longer stay.

Terrific hosts made you feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble including tips for best beaches etc . We will highly recommend to family and friends, loved the hot tub and the fact that the premises was gated, very quiet location no disturbances during the night.

The perfect retreat for anybody looking to relax and unwind.

We stayed at Mill Meadow when we got married a year ago and thought we would stay again this year for our first anniversary. It was so amazing! Chris and Suzanne were so accommodating and made us feel like we were at home! They put up a lovely banner that said “Happy Anniversary” and even gave us Prosecco inside (and not to mention the Flap Jack - thanks Chris!).

What can I say such a fantastic relaxed environment at Mill Meadow, Suzanne couldn’t do enough for us, she even dropped us in Taunton and picked us up.
The Lodge was beautifully put together with everything you need, the hot tub was well situated with privacy. Parking outside Staff were great and lots of chat with Francis they all work so hard on the grounds to make it as tranquil as possible. We had a wonderful time and will definitely will be returning soon

The location was perfect for my trip to Hestercombe House- a 30 minute stroll on country lanes. I came on public transport and Suzanne kindly picked me up and dropped me off in Taunton. Suzanne and Chris were welcoming and very accommodating and provided me with cooking oil which i had forgotten to bring. The cabin is very comfortable and spacious and the kitchen is well equipped with a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival. As with all log cabins it is quite dark inside and i needed the lights on most of the time. Goldcrest Lodge is right next to the site entrance and the lane. Although the lane is quiet there is some noise from traffic and other guests arriving and leaving. The hot tub was temperamental but it was easy to contact Chris who came and attended to it. The on site lake is really lovely. It’s 30 seconds from the cabin and i took my breakfast and sat in the summer house in the mornings watching the ducks and her ducklings. I could see that some of the bigger lodges had balconies that looked directly out over the lake. There are some lovely walks from the site. Hestercombe House is fabulous and I spent all day exploring the extensive grounds. Thanks to Suzanne and Chris for being so attentive and helpful.

We stayed with our dog at Mill Meadow in August for 5 nights. The lodge was lovely and we enjoyed the complimentary hot tub that came with it. We found the site very peaceful and enjoyed sitting on the veranda sipping wine and watching the world go by. The site is also within reasonable travel distance of the major tourist attractions. Suzanne and the team did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable and the local dog friendly village pub, The Swan, was a delight to visit with excellent food and wine. We will definitely be returning!.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mill Meadow (Goldcrest Lodge)! There are loads of walks straight from your lodge door - ideal if you have a furry friend like we do! And you aren’t very far from civilisation if you need to stock up on food or fancy a trip to a pub or restaurant. There was fantastic communication with the team who run the site and we knew that if we needed anything they’d be there to help straight away. We’d also recommend Hestercombe Gardens up the road, a great place for a long walk followed by tea & cake :-)

Our first stay at mill meadow and was not disappointed with the time we spent there the site is gated and secure. Our lodge was amazing and had everything you needed for your stay bbq and hot tub just made it more enjoyable. On our stay we visited dunster castle and hestercombe gardens and the local swan pub which all are worth a visit. Chris and Suzanne who own mill meadow are a delight to have met and always had time for a chat. If you are not a fishing person the lake is a beautiful place to sit in the evening and enjoy the peace and quiet. We can’t fault this place that is why we will be returning soon to have another relaxing time.

We spent a relatively short time in Goldcrest. It was a return visit to the village where we used to Iive. It was still as lovely as it was then. Goldcrest was very well equipped and colourful and extremely comfortable.

We stayed in Goldcrest lodge the weekend of our wedding. Suzanne and Chris were absolutely brilliant. Quick to answer any phone calls, provide an impromptu tour before we booked, helpful with any queries and a calming presence the morning of the wedding. Some of our favourite wedding photos were taken by
Chris and Suzanne when they kindly took the bride and her dad to the wedding venue in the lovely VW. The lodges themselves were peaceful and lovely to stay in. We really enjoyed our stay at Mill Meadow. The accommodation was faultless, we stayed in Goldcrest, it really couldn't have been better. Beautifully presented, everything was comfy & spotless. Comfy beds, soft towels, Ecover supplies etc. The hot tub was blissful, and the peace & quiet really appreciated. Chris & Suzanne couldn't have been more kind & helpful. Even supplying a 'birthday surprise' box of maggots so that my husband could indulge in some fishing, and a bottle of wine. So kind. The little extras of a pint of milk, some homemade flapjacks & a bottle of local apple juice were lovely. I would highly recommend a stay at Mill Meadow.

We stayed, my wife and i, at the peaceful location of Mill Meadow. Our reason for the short stay was our Honeymoon. We arrived in a downpour, but it did not ruin our stay. We found a waem welcome in the lodge in the form of Honeymoon biscuits with both our names printed on. Also, a Happy Couple wedding banner fixed to our window. The bed was very comfortable and the Hot tub was an additional plus point. If there was a way to adjust the heat of the water to an even cooler setting in the shower, that would have been beneficial, as ny wife found itvtoo hot, despite me turning it as far around to cool, it was still very hot. But overall a great place to stay. If you like fishing, this would be a place for you. I am not a fishing h fan, so never took it up. But they have the facilities for it.

The accommodation is in a great location for walking in the Quantocks and also very close to Hestercombe gardens if you wanted to visit. Quiet location with nice surroundings and a fishing lake. The lodge itself was very comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing stay. So nice to have the hot tub but would have liked a pathway to this as we had to walk over stones and back to get in and out and perhaps a step to assist getting in and out, if you were less mobile but I must emphasise this is only a minor gripe. All in all a super little place to base yourself near the Quantocks and I highly recommend.

It was home from home, nice and quiet and the owners were very pleasant and helpful. Fluffy white towels and lovely white China. The bed was absolutely perfect and huge.

Our 1st stay at Mill Meadows after being recommended by another member of the family and can't fault the attention to detail, customer service and overall presentation of the Holiday lodge and complex.

We stayed at Goldcrest Lodge which is the smallest lodge on the complex but this suited all our needs with a large double bed, kitchen and bathroom set up.

The Hot tub is an added bonus and have to say was checked twice daily and adjusted if needed, lake was lovely to walk around in the evening and you can also fish this if you need to relax even more.

Taunton is only a 10 min drive away and worth a day out or evening if you want to go out of a meal, alternatively we would recommend downloading the "Just eat app" and have your meals delivered to your door as we did and just chill out.

Will be booking again for next year

Have just returned from a short break in the Goldcrest two person lodge and would thoroughly recommend Mill Meadow.
It’s a good set up with many positives.
A very good secure location in a quiet secluded spot, but just five minutes from the delights (sic) of Taunton and under 50 minutes from the beaches of Minehead and Weston-super-mare.
Comfortable clean lodges equipped with hot tubs arranged around the central lake. Goldcrest is just right for a couple with a central bedroom with large king sized bed, small functional kitchen and bathroom with walk in shower unit.
Very good service levels from the owners Chris and Suzanne with very good communication both before and during our stay. Unfortunately the Goldcrest hot tub broke down just before our stay but we were allowed to use the one in the larger lodge behind us, which was unoccupied for our visit.
The lake is a very picturesque spot to sit and relax even if you are not into angling. If you are then it’s great for youngsters as it’s full of small roach and perch that are easy to catch. Its also stocked with some sizeable carp and tench and apparently also chub. I struggled with the carp as we were blessed with hot sunny days and they were more interested in sunbathing than eating. But did pull out some decent sized tench when I managed to get past the small stuff.
The village pub, the Swan at Kingston, is highly recommended, as is the walk through the fields from Mill Meadow to get there. The pub food is very good, but phoning ahead to check it’s on and to book is advised.

Quiet location, about 10 minutes drive out of Taunton, also on a bus route. There aren't any facilities on site, it only takes a few minutes to see the lake, so our main entertainment was the hot tub. Unfortunately on the second dip, the jets would not work, and it is inconvenient to try to get some to look at it when you are in the buff! Next morning the jets were working, but the pool guy turned up before 9 am to empty the tub for the next hirer so we could not have another dip. The lodge was quiet, clean and comfortable, and we chose this because we could stay with our dog.

We stayed for 3 nights and the lodge was immaculate and furnished with everything we could need to help with getting ready on the wedding morning and 'just married' bunting appeared on our return! We chose Mill Meadow specifically as it was conveniently close to relatives we were visiting. However we would return even if that was not the case. Goldcrest was compact but very comfortable, well presented and appointed.

We absolutely loved our stay at the lodge, the hosts communicated thoroughly before and throughout our stay and even left us an anniversary card and drink in the fridge.
The little touches were amazing, from home made flapjacks, all the items needed that we didn't want to bring like tea bags, milk, washing up liquid etc.
The site is beautiful and the lodge itself was stunning.
Some have not given it 5 stars for value for money, but I think its definitely worth every penny. Even the local village pub was lovely and very friendly.
Can't wait to visit again and we will.

Perfect getaway for a few nights - lovely lodge with personal touches (homemade flapjacks, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and local apple juice/cider provided).
Chris and Suzanne were very helpful on keeping us up to date with the check-in and check-out procedures regarding the Covid protocols currently in place.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights. We loved the cabin and the bed was very comfy!
The hot tub was a lovely extra and even though this cabin is next to the main entrance gate on the site, it still felt private as we were behind fencing.

We would highly recommend staying here. We chose to stay on site for our whole trip but would suggest planning days out if you were to stay any longer than us.

A lovely lodge great site only downfall too remote from essentials too close to busy roads Not safe for pedestrians .suzanne and Chris were lovely hosts loved the hot tub and enjoyed sitting by the lake watching the fish jumping .

Goldcrest Lodge is so beautifully decorated, and the attention to detail is wonderful: I particularly enjoyed the beautiful bedding, quality interior lighting and British bird-themed decor. I swear the kitchen is better equipped than what I have at home, and they even welcome you with home-made flapjacks. The little TV is an improvement on what you get in most hotels: it is wall-mounted and rotates towards you, so we could indulge in the guilty pleasure of watching a movie on Netflix in bed with the screen right in front of us!

The location is very handy for Taunton town and we wish we had taken the opportunity to go on more local walks and travel further into the countryside... but you can't do everything! We did walk to the local pub (The Swan) one evening, which was charming.

Even though Goldcrest is quite near the main site entrance, it feels private thanks to the outdoor willow screens. These also completely hide the hot-tub from anyone walking past, so we could chill in our swimming costumes without worry.

Goldcrest is the only lodge for two people, all the others are designed for bigger groups, and I'd love to try and stay in one of the larger ones in future as they look stunning as you walk past. The whole site is incredibly peaceful, including the lake, bee hives, summer house etc.

It feels like you are guaranteed a good quality experience at Mill-Meadow, with attention to every detail possible and a lovely modern Somerset feel. We are planning to return as soon as we can!

Goldcrest is a lovely little lodge ideal for two people. Our daughter, new son-in-law and their dachund enjoyed their stay after their wedding. A great place to relax and enjoy the hot tub. Suzanne surprised them by putting a 'just married' banner on the outside of the lodge, which was so kind of her.

This is a really nice spot, which manages to feel remote and deep in the countryside but is in fact very easily accessible. There were some minor hiccups with our check-in process, but otherwise this place is highly recommended!

I have lost track of the times my family have stayed here. It is a jewel in the Somerset countryside. Our hosts Chris and Suzanne are ever attentive and professional. GoldCrest is the smallest lodge but still fabulously equipped with space for a Queen bed and a welcoming hot tub alongside. A spacious covered terrace area provides sanctuary for dining out in all weathers. A must stay experience for anyone wishing to recharge their batteries.

We would definitely recommend Mill Meadow. Although we only went for the fishing, there is plenty around the area i.e. walks, places to visit. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the hospitality was excellent. Suzanne and Chris made us very welcome. The lodge was perfect and well equipped. We had never been in a hot tub before and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We will most certainly visit again. The lake was well stocked with all types of fish and my husband caught quite a lot, unfortunately he didn't manage to catch any carp, they were not interested, but were happy with what we did catch. Well done again to Mill Meadow for your hospitality.

We have a brilliant time at Mill Meadow and Goldcrest Lodge. We stayed for a long weekend and couldn’t have asked for more. The lodge was spotless and cosy with the added bonus of the hotub which was ready for us to use on arrival. There was a slight problem with the control on the hot tub which Chris was already aware of and when we needed help putting it on, despite being away himself, he sent someone along to help instantly. The lodge was spotless and comfortable with everything you could need for a long weekend (we used the kitchen for breakfast but ate out otherwise). A nice touch was the welcome pack which included details of local walks.... we chose one that visited the Swan pub which is also well worth the visit for their lovely home cooked food or just a drink in their big beer garden on a nice day. If your looking for a quiet weekend away in a lovely setting with everything you could need or want within walking distance or a short drive away (with the added bonus of a hot tub), goldcrest lodge at mill meadow is the place to stay!!

Fabulous lodge in beautiful surroundings! Great set up - everything you need for a relaxing break. Hot tub under the stars was a real treat. Warm and cosy inside with great attention to detail. Small but perfectly formed. Kitchen really well equipped and great shower. Easy check in and lovely welcome pack- there were home made flapjacks with milk, local apple juice and cider in fridge. We had a fantastic stay in Goldcrest Lodge at Mill Meadow. The accommodation was the perfect size for the two of us plus labrador. All the facilities were superb and it was such a treat having our own hot tub! Mill Meadow is in the perfect location, we were able to get takeaways delivered from Taunton, beautiful walks in the Quantocks were just a short drive away and the village pub, just a 15 minute walk away served delicious food with great service. Would definitely recommend and we hope to visit again!

We had a lovely couple of nights in Goldcrest Lodge at Mill Meadow. The lodge itself is quite compact but very comfortable, cosy and well equipped. The hot tub and Netflix were an added bonus. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Little touches like the homemade flapjacks on arrival and milk and local cider in the fridge made all the difference from other similar places I’ve stayed.
We were staying to visit family in the local area and the site is very well located for Taunton and the Quantocks. Although the lodge is near the entrance to the site and near the road (more a country lane) it was really quiet and peaceful and there was no traffic noise at night. The site is gated which added to the sense of safety and privacy.
The welcome and overall customer service we got from the owners was wonderful, they are super helpful and friendly. Perhaps most importantly at the moment they are going to great lengths to follow Covid secure guidelines and provide a safe stay.
I would definitely stay here again.

We arrived on Sunday evening to a warm glow lighting the way t9 the lodge. On opening the door we were delighted to find a clean delightful little haven that allowed our two dogs to stay. The lodge was pristine that had thought of everything even down to the most amazing flapjacks ever! Outside there was a barbecue area and a hot tub tucked away.
The next morning we awoke to discover that the local area lended itself to some beautiful walks with amazing views and scenery, and just a car ride away from the coast. All in all a fantastic stay and we are looking forward to revisiting soon.

Me and my girlfriend absolutely loved our stay at mill meadow. We stayed in the goldcrest lodge which sleeps 2. The lodge is very cosy and you have all the amenities and facilities you require. The king size bed was so comfortable and it was lovely being able to relax in bed watching TV in the mornings. Such a great location with a lot of things to do surrounding the area. The hot tub was the best part of the trip for us being able to relax with some drinks. The staff were super friendly and always on hand if we needed anything. We will definitely be returning for sure!

We stayed in Goldcrest for a 2 night break for my husbands 40th mid September. It’s a cute little gingerbread style lodge and is very cosy!
We booked a massage and a facial at the lodge and made the most of the hot tub.
The only very minor downside is that not many pubs and restaurants are within walking distance (just the 1 actually) and you need to drive into town to eat or drink somewhere different.
Other than that an amazing place with a fishing lake a few steps away with lots of fields and country walks to enjoy

A lovely, quiet, secluded spot. We stayed in the smallest of lodges available. Just one room, kitchen and bathroom. There was a lovely hot tub. We had a great weekend. Only criticism if I was nit picking is the walk from lodge to hot tub. As the lodge is right on the entrance to resort you feel a bit exposed. But that was no big problem.
If staying here it would be worth noting that there are no local amenities, nearest pub a ten min walk (lovely walk through the field) but there is no shop. So make sure you take all you need with you

We absolutely love goldcrest lodge. We stayed here for our anniversary, and where my partner proposed. We returned almost a year later for a romantic getaway after spending lockdown with 2 small children (we left them with nanny!).
The lodge, as always, was beautifully clean, warm and welcoming. With beautiful little touches in the fridge.
The bed and duvet is so so so comfy we want one at home.
Sadly the hot tub did not get up to temperature on the first day, so we did loose a day's use. But it was lovely and warm on the Sunday.
Unfortunately due to the current covid situation our little break came to an abrupt end on leaving morning.
We had to be up by 8.30. to strip the bed (something very difficult for someone with a disability who has to pay someone to do this at home) and to sort the recycling. I am hoping as soon as covid restrictions ease things will revert back to normal, as I hate to say anything negative about this beautiful place and it's wonderful owners.
We will certainly be back again next year.

Our first post lockdown holiday was just perfect thanks to the whole team at Mill Meadow, we couldn’t of been made to feel more welcome. From welcome calls and texts to ensure a smooth contactless check in, to responsive emails and home baked treats and local produce to greet us at the lodge when we arrived. The location is gorgeous too and the lodge had everything we needed including a hot tub and bbq, which made for the perfect weekend getaway.



Friendly and efficient staff. Gorgeous lodges in a peaceful setting! Highly recommend

Just returned from a lovely short break in the Goldcrest lodge at Mill Meadow. The hosts Chris & Suzanne couldn’t have been more welcoming and were always on hand to assist with any enquiries. We were thoroughly impressed with everything they have put in place to make the lodge clean and safe in the current Covid climate and would love to return soon!

From the moment I arrived it was evident that the owners wanted me to have the best possible experience with a sensitive personal touch in many ways. The lodge and hot tub were beyond expectation, very clean, equipped with everything needed and luxurious. The information shared about walks, bike rides, restaurants and places to visit was perfect and the sharing of home produce was fun and delicious. I can’t wait to get back - feel home sick already. Have recommended to numerous other people since I returned and the only complaint is that the facilities are unavailable and fully booked. Thank you all so much for making it a fantastic 4 nights - wish I’d booked for longer.

Our daughter and family have been staying in Somerset with her in-laws during the lockdown. We stayed in Goldcrest Lodge which was twenty minutes away from them. The Lodge whilst compact had everything we needed during our six night stay. We spent most of the time out with family, but looked forward to returning to the comfortable lodge in the evenings. We used the BBQ one evening which was provided free with excellent local charcoal.
The staff at Mill Meadow were very friendly and attentive. A great location for a quiet break.

Extremely well equipped self contained lodge. Even has a bike store! Peaceful location and able to appreciate nature as lake on site. Covid compliance procedures made us feel very safe and staff very helpful.

I would highly recommend Mill Meadow. It’s home from home arriving with freshly made treats and a few essentials in the fridge and cupboards. It was my partners 30th and they had placed a birthday banner up with a card and a bottle of bubbly. They were happy to help and very friendly. The lodge was spotless, considering it’s dog friendly I wouldn’t of ever said pets have been inside. We are very happy with our stay and would definitely return.

Stayed in Goldcrest Lodge for two nights and was made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The lodge was warm, homely, cosy, clean and comfortable and had everything we could possibly need, the homemade flapjacks were very welcome after our drive down and added a more personal touch. Our stay included use of the hot tub and was excellent value for money. Would definitely go back, hopefully in the summer.

My sister and I returned to Goldcrest Lodge after our fabulous visit last year and it was just as good. Our host was so accommodating and made our visit so special. As we were celebrating my birthday Suzanne had birthday bunting hung outside to welcome us and lots of goodies in the kitchen! Her homemade flapjack was waiting for us again which was such a welcome treat! The beds were so comfortable, every area spotless, all amenities to hand - the perfect place for my sister and I to relax, drink lots of wine, go on country walks and just feel like we were properly away for the weekend. We will be back again - thank you so much!

Travelling from the NW we knew it would take a while to navigate our way along the motorway network, but it was very well worth the effort. Mill Meadow is an oasis of calm in the busy world and 3 nights in Goldcrest Lodge meant I was ready to launch myself back into my teaching life! From the minute we arrived we were looked after superbly by our hosts Suzanne and Chris. Nothing was too much trouble and clearly they have put their heart and soul into the lodges and the surrounding landscape.
I have not slept in a more comfortable bed and all the fixtures and fittings were carefully selected and so clean, everything seemed brand new. The hot tub was an extra relaxation after a long walk-do not miss Cothelstone Hill (Seven Sisters) and the wonderful views. Definitely a ‘wow’ moment.
Thank you Chris, Suzanne and Joe for creating such environmentally friendly 5* luxury and you should experience it for yourselves.

Goldcrest is an ideal cottage for two, with everything you might need for a stay of any duration. The accommodation is located in a cluster of larger properties, only a short drive from Taunton. Plenty of scope for walking and more. I would certainly return, not just for the cricket but perhaps on my way further West.

This place was exactly what we were looking for and it delivered as promised. Clean, warm, well-maintained, comfortable and with very good facilities, it was perfect for a couple of days' break whilst seeing some friends just up the road. We were very well looked after and it is a very quiet place to relax. It was also a huge bonus being able to bring the dog with us (plenty of room inside for his bed etc.) and not having to stay for at least three nights. Thank you.

Lovely weekend stay at pretty Goldcrest lodge We were attending a wedding at nearby Hestercombe Park and it was an ideal location. The lodge is compact and cute with a very large and comfortable double bed ,separate kitchen and bathroom with a large shower. It has every facility and comfort for a break in the beautiful Somerset countryside.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Goldcrest and was sad to leave.
Everything I needed was provided and the use of a washer/dryer within the lodge was invaluable when you are walking and cycling.
Suzanne the housekeeper was very attentive and informative without being intrusive.

This chalet is perfect in every way and provided a very cosy half way house on my way to Cornwall. Ideal for me and my dog. Very high standard of decor and cleanliness. Loved the homemade flapjacks.

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a wedding party so didn’t get to explore the local area. However the cabin itself is lovely! Has everything you need and the bed is very comfy
