Just returned from a weekend away with the girls in Heron Lodge. A very warm welcome from Suzanne, a guided tour of Heron and some very helpful out & about tips. Well worth while Saturday walk to Hestercombe Gardens, lovely cafe. Would definitely recommend Clavelshay Barn for Sunday lunch (booking essential). Really can’t ‘big up’ this place enough. Already booked for next year.
This was our 3rd xmas at Millmeadow. Alrhough we only live a couple miles away it's just perfect. We get together as a family and its the perfect location. We had a lovely warm welcome from Suzanne and Chris. Theres everything you need to get you started plus special little touches .... like presecco, milk, apple juice and home made gingerbread xmas trees. The lodge is so well equipped. The wood burner was lovely too , although it wasn't particularly cold the wood burner was used , it was so cosy.we also had the hot tub which is always a hit. The place is so well kept and the owners really ...more
We booked Cuckoo Lodge for a long girly wknd at the beginning of December to celebrate a birthday, and we had a fantastic time! Suzanne had been so helpful in the build up to our stay, and left some very thoughtful touches for our arrival including a birthday sign, wine, apple juice and homemade flapjacks - such a lovely gesture and much appreciated! The lodge was fab - cosy and warm with comfy beds and lovely bathrooms. The hot tub was a must have and we really enjoyed using it in the evenings, sitting under the Christmas lights in the trees outside with a glass of fizz in hand - all very fe...more
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Goldcrest and was sad to leave. Everything I needed was provided and the use of a washer/dryer within the lodge was invaluable when you are walking and cycling. Suzanne the housekeeper was very attentive and informative without being intrusive. I would happily return next year.
Fantastic lodge, clean, spacious, lots of room for all 10 of us, and very quiet, it was great to have the hot tub which was well used. Nice friendly staff
This small estate of eco homes was recommended by Hestercombe Gardens in their wedding brochure and we visited it on the same day as Hestercombe and booked six lodges almost immediately. Mill Meadow provided us with separate homes for both families plus homes for "the boys" and "the girls" and two more for various friends, giving us each a degree of independence but close proximity. There was a great deal of coming and going leading up to the wedding day, and even more after the wedding when we all stayed for New Years Eve! Flycatcher was easily large enough for all our guests to party on tha...more
sadly our stay this time was not as good as previous stays and we felt the booking process and the information given was not as upfront as before. As returning customers it disappointed us with the booking process before we arrived due to having to move our stay date. we felt disappointed with the feed back we got after sending polite feed back to the owners. before this booking we would happily have recommended this to others but after this stay due to the booking we wouldn't recommend again. we just feel they should look after returning customers. very sad as we previously enjoyed staying...more
The cabins have been decorated to a high standard and everything you could possibly need has been provided. We even had a decorated tree waiting for us and our host brought us mince pies during our stay. It is a lovely and convenient location. Our boys enjoyed fishing on the lake and we just have to decide which cabin we will have next time.
We rented both House Martins & Woodpecker Lodge for a long weekend for our family of 10 from Great Grandparents to a very active 2 year old. Our stay was for the extended weekend of my Wife's 60th Birthday celebrations. The welcome on arrival from Helen and Suzanne was great. A particularly nice touch was the welcome pack. House Martins has everything you could need for a weekend or longer stay, was warm and cosy. Ramped main door access was also a plus for access to the ground floor by the grandparents who stayed in Woodpecker Lodge but visited for afternoon tea. We had arranged for out...more
