Requires some updating also the gate had to be slammed shut as latch was not completely effective for the secure garden for our dogs otherwise a nice place to stay.

We had a lovely week in Hayloft cottage, along with our dog Millie who fell in love with the owners' dog Yogi! The cottage was perfect for the 3 of us and had everything we needed. Millie loved the freedom of being able to roam around the 2 fields as we knew they were secure. The cottage was a perfect base to explore North Somerset

A lovey cottage which is very dog friendly with throws and towels supplied. Our dog is not usually allowed off a lead so loved being able to run around in the secure dog friendly field on site. It was very useful having a laundry on site with extra freezer space. The cottage is in an excellent location with some lovely pubs within easy driving distance serving great food. Not too far away from the coast and the nearby caves at Cheddar. The owners were friendly and accommodating. I would fully recommend Home Farm for a lovely peaceful rural break.

Lovely cottage and peaceful stay. Lots of amenities provided, including information on walks, pubs, restaurants and takeaway services.
When we arrived the windows were wide open, which meant it took us a while to warm the house up and didn’t have the cosy cottage feel to walk into.
Very handy having use of a washing machine and tumble dryer - especially with a newborn!
The bathroom could do with a little refresh as looked tired but overall the cottage was perfect for us and was the break we absolutely needed.

Hayloft Cottage - What a lovely place to stay!

As we had just got married, we fancied a nice quiet break away, and we weren’t disappointed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Very quiet and peaceful location, but very close to many attractions in Somerset. We visited Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge, Axbridge and Wookey Hole, and thoroughly enjoyed our break. The accommodation was very clean and cosy, and we were made to feel very welcome, with cake and fresh flowers on our arrival! A very nice touch. Everything we needed was suppled in the cottage. We would certainly return again..

1st class place to stay for a nice quiet break.

After initial hiccup with booking date, we had a very comfortable stay in the Hayloft. Good space outside for the dogs although not totally enclosed. There was a good little enclosed garden round the cottage. Lovely area to visit, good beaches not too far. Located in countryside so be aware many single lane country roads. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Owners and family very friendly.

We had a lovely stay at the Hayloft cottage.

Before we even arrived, we were sent an excellent information pack by email showing everything from details of the cottage, maps of local dog walks, take aways and restaurants and shops in the area.

When we arrived, the cottage was clean, warm and inviting. Charlotte and Olly really have thought of everything. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. There are dog treats, dog bowls and doggy towels laid out. Sofa covers are available so that our dog could go on the sofa. The kitchen is compact but has everything you need. There was a bottle of milk for us in the fridge and a tray of cakes waiting for us.

Although Charlotte and Olly were away, they let us know to contact Simon or Julie while they were away. When the neighbours we're making noise early in the morning, we spoke to Simon who resolved the issue quickly and even offered us £50 refund for the hassle. And when we couldn't figure out how to use the dishwasher, Charlotte's mum organized us a takeaway so that we didn't have to cook that evening.

When we had evenings in, we had Freeview channels, Netflix and Amazon prime to choose from and some board games.

The location is beautiful, with fantastic views and two fields to walk the dog. We also had our own enclosed garden so that we could let our dog out safely.

We loved our stay and would definitely recommend Home Farm Cottages.

The cottage is well equipped and comfortable.
The toilet and bathroom being downstairs was a little strange, but we soon got used to it.
If somehow a bathroom could be installed upstairs, then this survey would need to have a higher mark than excellent,
something like Absolutely Superb.
Loved our stay despite the poor weather, and our Standard Poodle really enjoyed the recreational fields.

A very relaxing place to stay. Great views, a beautiful spot. The grounds are well kept. Cottage clean, very comfortable, and well equipped. Excellent info pack provided. Friendly, helpful owners. Plenty of walks in the area though during our stay it was a little too hot to do all the ones we wanted. Several good options for a pub lunch. A super base for the coast, cheddar gorge (inc. an escape room in cave), and helicopter museum. We also went further afield to Frome, the Fleet Air Arm Museum (aircraft carrier bit is very good) and Shepton Mallet Prison (where we did another escape room in a cell). Bristol is not far away so we were able to visit friends and family there. We had a fabulous holiday and The Hayloft was great.

The E- mail received Information pack and directions provided by the owners prior to travel were spot on and led us straight to the cottage.
First impressions didn`t disappoint - lovely white detached cottage with a small enclosed private outdoor area with fabulous views over towards the Mendips.
Cottage spotlessly clean and fully equipped for our stay. Beds comfortable and linen very good quality indeed. Lounge area sufficient for 4 guests with a good size TV with plenty of channels. Mobile and broadband signals were fine and we had no problems.
Massive outside grassed area within the farm grounds providing providing ample free space for dogs or youngsters.
Despite there being three or four dogs on site during our stay we experienced no noise whatsoever.
Location wise: Farm was about 1.5 miles from nearest village of Winscombe along a quiet narrow road with no footpaths. There were walking routes off road within a short distance of the cottage. As a base it was perfect. The coast a couple of miles west, cheddar gorge, City of Wells, and Glastonbury a few miles east. Bristol and Bath within an hours drive.

All in all we couldn`t fault the accommodation or general location and would certainly re book this cottage again.

Beautiful place, great for dogs and very friendly and helpful owners. You do need a car as no shops or places to eat within walking distance.
A small welcome pack of fresh milk and perhaps a loaf would make it perfect.

Great location, clean and tidy, owners on site. Dog friendly with supply of dog biscuits and dog towels. Hayloft has a fenced garden which is ideal for dogs , and also has 2 fields for dogs to run. Good walks from cottage. Information pack was very helpful.
Enjoyed the stay and would return in the future. Ideal location for visiting Wells and the Somerset coast.

Lovely spot central to lots of points of interest in Somerset. Friendly family. Cottage was lovely, had everythng we needed. The Hayloft is a lovely 2 bed cottage, well equipped and very comfortable. We had our Collie Megan with us and the facilities for dogs are excellent. There is excellent hill walking straight from the farm and further good walking nearby. There are plenty at tourist spots to visit in the locality, such as Cheddar Gorge and Wells.
We had an excellent holiday and would love to go back.

A lovely peaceful location with great views set in the countryside but very easy to find just 10 to 15 minutes drive from the M5. Can do some nice walks from the front door or drive a few miles for more choice.
The cottage was nice and clean with plenty of space although there was only two of us but a family of four should have no problems the rooms being a good size with plenty of everything you need for a holiday.
We would have no problems to stay here again when visiting the location.

We wanted a dog friendly quiet property to act as a base for us to explore an area that we had usually just driven past on our way to and from Devon and Cornwall and this property proved to be an excellent choice.

The facilities on the site for laundry and exercising the dog were really well thought through and helped make our stay a pleasure.

We enjoyed exploring the local woodland and the national trusts property along the nearby limestone ridge and Crook Hill.

Enjoyed some good lunches in Wells and Cheddar. Great fresh fish and cheese at Wells market.

For anyone interested in wildlife the nearby Avalon marshes are a must. I saw my first Great Egret.

A great week.

The Hayloft is a very quaint cottage set in the most incredible gardens and grounds, a doggie paradise. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The surrounding area is full of beautiful places to visit all within a 30 minute drive. I will definitely making a return visit, but will be booking one of the cottages with 2 bathrooms . What can l say spectaluor weather and an amazing week away.

Our second stay at Home Farm Cottages and it didn't disappoint. Clean, comfortable cottage with walks from the door. It's ideally located to explore Somerset and parts of Devon although the M5 gets busy at Bristol - so if you go north of there it's best to time your trip. There are lots of walks close by and dogs are made very welcome. It has the best Wi-Fi we've had in any place we've stayed at and also free Netflix. You get your own individual garden area to sit out in and a log stove for if it gets cooler. Since we've stayed before we can also confirm that the quality of the cottages and the welcome is consistently high. So thank you Mike for a another great stay.

Such a great location near fun walks - up to the top of Crook Peak in 30 mins! Good facilities at the house and very well catered for my dog Barney - he especially loved the fact that there was a 2 acre field he could run around in at his leisure. Also easy to get to the beach only a 30 min drive. Hosts are very welcoming and accommodating. Will definitely recommend and will be returning!!

This property and all the properties at Home Farm are amazing, such a great find.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt comfortable and very much at home.
The Hayloft was very clean, in excellent condition and dog friendly.
We had a small garden to let the dog out first thing but the added bonus was there was two fields which where keep in great condition with wonderful views just outside our gate.
I would recommend this property to others and my friend has just booked for October on my recommendation.
The owner Mike was very helpful and nothing was to much trouble.

I WOULD CERTAINLY RECOMMEND THE HAYLOFT AT HOME FARM COTTAGES.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable week at the Hayloft. Peaceful location with great walks from the cottage. Good base for exploring much of Somerset. Well appointed cottage with a very comfortable bed. Mike made us feel very welcome and works hard to keep everything neat and tidy. Our dog loved exploring and running in the sizeable paddock. Lots of thoughtful touches for those holidaying with dogs such as treats, water bowls, towels and throws.

Lovely cosy cottage. Beds were really nice and the shower strong. Liked stretching out on the sofas when it occasionally rained.
Really enjoyed the cake left for us while sitting out in the garden. My dog loved the adjoining fields for a run around several times a day.
Everything was clean and shiny and the kitchen very well equipped.
The owner was around but not intrusive. We had a great time

A warm welcome from Mike, the owner, followed by a very relaxing holiday in a beautiful location. Extremely dog friendly with the dogs loving the walks, chasing balls and sniffing the scents of rabbits in the large area of land/garden.

Despite chilly nights outside, the cottage was warm and cosy. It was also well equipped.

A good base from which to explore both the coast, and attractions inland, as well as some good panoramic local walks in a very peaceful area.

This was our 3rd stay at Homefarm and the 2nd at the Hayloft. Mike is the perfect host but unfortunately Homefarm Cottages are too popular. Although we are retired and very flexible with our holiday dates it's always booked up well in advance, an indication of the high standard provided and to expect.
Cottages are very well equipped and the grounds are immaculate making for a peaceful, relaxing break.
Unfortunately there was just the one niggle, the bathroom at the Hayloft is downstairs and the stairs very creaky. If one has to answer the call of nature during the night it's likely that everybody in the cottage gets woken up especially in these very quiet and peaceful surroundings.

Hayloft is a lovely little cottage in such a beautiful setting. In fact of all the cottages it was probably the best situated as it had an unobstructed view down the garden of the Mendip hills. The cottage is on Home Farm (not a working farm) and the grounds are very tidy and well kept. The cottage had everything we needed in it and the owner had obviously put a lot of thought into what guests would require. It was very clean and nicely furnished. We especially liked the super king size bed, which was very comfortable. When we arrived all the windows were open (it was a lovely sunny day), lamps were on, music was playing on Alexa, there was a jug of beautiful flowers on the table and the owner had left tea, coffee and some delicious cake. The owner Mike and his 2 lovely little dogs greeted us...it was a lovely welcome. For anybody taking dogs it has an incredible amount of land to exercise them in with lovely walks nearby too. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the bench in the garden on a couple of evenings with a glass of wine, just admiring the view. There are no shops etc in Barton (where Home Farm and it’s cottages are situated), which we are used to as we have none in the village we live in, but other villages with shops etc are not very far away.
This is the first time we have been to Somerset and we were not disappointed. Lots to see and do. This is a good base to explore Somerset from and we would have no hesitation in highly recommending Hayloft.

This was our second stay at the Hayloft having stayed 3 years ago. Once again every little thing had been catered for. The cleanliness was outstanding, we were greeted by home made cakes, tea, coffee, milk and flowers fresh from the garden. The location is ideal, picturesque and peaceful and a good situated perfectly to use as a base and have daytrips to all the amazing and beautiful places.
Everyday we visited somewhere different and none were more than an hour away. We had a day at Avebury, Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge, Bristol, Burnham on Sea on the beach and Go Ape at The Forest of Dean.
For those who like abit of excitement Mendip Raceway is a must to see some stock car racing and only 20 minutes from the cottage!
I cant recommend The Hayloft enough, its a real hidden gem, lovely people, lovely cottage and stunning location. We will be back again

The cottage was superbly equipped, and appointed for a restful break.

The fresh flowers and delicious slices of home-made orange cake on arrival made us feel welcome.

Another lovely visit to Home Farm Cottages. We and the dogs love the area with beach, farmland, woodland and hill walking available. Always a warm welcome from the owners and their dogs! Nice touch to provide initial tea/ coffee/ milk and the wonderful cake. Great that the basic kitchen items eg. Dishwasher tablets, foil , jeycloth are provided.
Warm cosy cottage for a November week away. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I spent a fortnight at Hayloft cottage this July, hoping our sister would like to stay with us for some of the time since we knew that ‘Scrumpy’ was already booked. She did and so did our grandson.
The cottage is well equipped and comfortable with a small garden adjoining. Very nice! We will not actually go back to Hayloft again- we don’t have a dog, but Bakehouse. We like dogs very much but really not in the cottage that we rent because of my husbands allergies. Bakehouse suits us perfectly, however, and we are planning to return to this beautiful part of the country - as we have for a few years running.

We choose Home Farm for several reasons:
1 We have stayed before & know the setup & location
2 The cottages are all bright , comfortable & well equipped with laundry etc available
3 The gardens are well fenced with tables & chairs
4 It is a good "in between " from our home to our families
5 There are great fields for dog exercising
6 Last, but not least, Ruth & Mike are wonderful hosts.
This holiday in Hayloft met all our expectations and was a lovely relaxing week. Our only personal downside is the downstair bathroom & toilet, but it didn't spoil the week at all.

Home Farm Cottages is a beautiful setting & hosts Mike & Ruth were exceptional during our stay! Warm & welcoming. Nothing seemed to be to much trouble even with Mike helping to dig us out of the snow. Log burner was perfect! Cleanliness was high standard.
Thank-you

Ideal base for North Somerset. Close to challenging Mendip Way walk. Very dog friendly location with 2 acre paddock a bonus. Cottage warm and welcoming with all you needed. Possibly a bit cramped for four adults but plenty of room for two adults and one dog. Hosts extremely helpful. Several pubs with good food within short car drive. Would recommend.

Chose for doggie accomodation which was great with fenced garden and exercise paddock. However human accomodation was excellent, cosy, clean, well equipped and every thing well thought out. Also well located for plenty on places to visit including beaches. Alot of dog friendly places to visit and pubs to eat out in. Would highly recommend. Ruth and Mike could not have been more welcoming or helpful.
