My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Craignethan. The location is just perfect and the environment so peaceful, relaxing and absolutely stunning.
I would certainly book the accommodation again, and we will definitely be back to the area next year.
When the weather is right, it’s better than the Med!!

Beautiful cottage in a fabulous location with a lovely hotel/pub just down the road and an excellent village store within walking distance. Perhaps not the best location for families with small children but if you want to walk in fabulous scenery or just to relax in beautiful surroundings it is perfect.

This accommodation has been put together by people with taste and love for the property. Everything has been thought out for a lovely stay for all ranges of people, families, and pets. The views will take some beating and every day we were freshly amazed by them. Our holiday went too quickly for us.

This is the second time I have stayed at Craignethan and will certainly book again. Ideal location with stunning views, very well equipped both internally and externally. Ideal dog friendly secure location.

Fabulous accommodation and location for our stay for a family wedding. Everything we needed was supplied…… incredible views and facilities nearby AND they turned on the sunshine for me ☀️The journey from Glasgow is breathtaking…. but needs time to enjoy and take care. I manage to escape 4 days with only 1 ‘Scottish midgie bite’ Thanks to Smidgie lotions Will definitely be back.

Craignethen is the most beautiful and comfortable little beach house. The views from the living room and decking are epic. The house and kitchen are so well stocked with everything that you could need. There are some lovely thoughtful touches including complimentary slippers, board games, books and DVDs. Excellent communication with the owners as well. I am most definitely going back!

Craignethan is a gorgeous, shore front cottage. The cottage has all the amenities
needed for a perfect stay. We have been many times and hope to continue staying in this lovely home. Argyll self catering holidays are very helpful and friendly.

We stayed at Craignethan for three nights in November. The property was beautifully furnished and maintained, and very well equipped. It was warm and comfortable and every creature comfort was provided. The location and views were exceptional. Highly recommend and would love to return.

Beautiful views over Kyles of Bute from sitting room and bedroom. Well equipped house, that felt as though the owners used it themselves - unlike some places I’ve stayed in that lack basic utensils. Good pub/restaurant and village shop that has pretty much everything you might need within easy walking distance. Thoroughly recommended.



A well appointed property in a beautiful location. The garden is fully enclosed if you have a dog.

I have marked the condition as OK because there are a couple of items that are in need of maintenance attention:-
A kitchen cupboard is hanging on its hinges.
In the bathroom in the bunkhouse,
only one spotlight worked out of four.
Everything else was perfect!

Stayed here on a previous occasion, lovely cottage on the waterfront in excellent condition with a short walk to shop , pub etc ideal base for area or great to just sit back with a book on the patio and soak up the excellent views

Just returned from a week at Craignethan. Beautifully equipped and stunning location. Everything anyone could want for a self catering holiday. Lots of local information supplied by the owners for strangers to the Kyles of Bute. Children catered for too with supplied buckets, spades and fishing nets as well as all sorts of games for the wet days! Garden is totally enclosed so great for the dog too!
Cleanliness was excellent. I would recommend Craignethan and I certainly intend booking again.

Beautiful beachfront location. Comfortable, very well equipped cottages and useful for our size of party to use both houses. A bonus being able to bring the dog and a welcome bottle of wine in fridge! Had a fabulous family get together and would recommend this property.

Had a wonderful stay once again at Craignethan. The house is lovely and comfortable with the added benefit of the extra accommodation at the back of the house. View from the house is spectacular.

A beautiful home from home with outstanding views. Near to Kames Hotel and a variety of activities within driving distance. Excellent host. The welcome bottle of wine was another nice touch and greatly appreciated. We hope to return.

Stayed here in late June weather was kind good food in Kames hotel ( 2 min walk ) area good for walking. Cycling etc very chilled , haven't stayed in the area for years and it has not lost any of its charm , cottage is excellent and I will definitely book again

A beautifully furnished property with everything provided including games for the children and adults!
Lovely comfortable beds and bed linen .
Kitchen so well stocked with plates pans and utensils.
Even a speaker and WiFi connection . Tv was never on because of the fabilous sunny weather we had all week .
