We stayed at Villa moonshine in July 2026, as a party of 6 (3 couples).
We found the Villa to be wonderful. It is designed with real attention to detail (some of which is easy to miss or appreciate).

LAYOUT
the layout is very thoughtful with all bedrooms benefiting from en-suites and balconies that link on each floor, something we loved as we could sit together on the balconies for evening drinks.
The ground floor is spectacular and comprises a large living space with dual aspect floor to ceiling windows that really make the outside part of the interior space. There is a living area, a dining area and a well appointed kitchen.

EXTERIOR
Outside there is a separate dining and outside kitchen/barbecue that sits under sail shades and offers amazing views of the sea and mountains. There is also a soft seating area here that shares the same views. These two external spaces offer a peaceful , shaded outdoor space that you can escape to during the midday sun.

POOL
The pool is also well designed with a linked jacuzzi (operated by push button) All of this looks across the sea and mountains. The patio area is spacious, without any need to shuffle around chairs, plenty of space to spread out relax.

These two external pools are cleaned daily as is the external area.

The level of design detail extends to a wonderful lighting design that compliments the beautiful planting, all of which is illuminated at night.

Our daily treat was a late night swim in the illuminated pool, watching the stars and enjoying the exterior lighting, a magical end to the day

TECH
All rooms are air conditioned, although we only used the bedroom ac of an evening as the open design of the ground floor kept it cool all day.

There is a large smart TV in the living area that allows streaming fromNetflix and other streaming services
There is a large powerful Bluetooth speaker.
The kitchen has microwave, oven fridge & freezer. There is also a very good and easy to use coffee machine (bean to cup) and a toastie maker, along with a standard toaster.

LOCATION
We reviewed many villas before selecting Villa Moonshine. For us the location was key. We wanted views that we would not get at home, a chance to have breakfast on a balcony whilst overlooking the sea and mountains. We don’t want to have an interrupted view and didn’t want to overlook another villa, or building (or nightclub). This meant choosing a villa that was an extra 5-10 mins walk out of town. Which we were concerned about (as we didn’t want to be too far out)

However as we discovered, all the main villas are in this same location and all of the taxis charge a minimum fee of £4 regardless of proximity. So the location actually made no difference to the cost and speed of visits to town.

We walked into town one day (20 mins) but took a cab home uphill (Kalkan is very hilly). As we could order taxis on WhatsApp from the villa, we never bothered to walk again, it just wasn’t worth the effort and found the taxi drivers to be professional and reliable. There are two taxi ranks in town (one at the top of the hill and one at the bottom) so if you walk down to the marina you don’t need to hike back up (just press the button at the taxi rank and a cab will arrive)

There are two supermarkets within a few minutes walk of the villa and more in town. They will deliver however we preferred to browse and buy. There is an app called “villa eats” that delivers a whole range of takeaways to your door. We used this sometimes during the day for a pizza lunch but otherwise cooked for ourselves.

MANAGEMENT
It’s with mentioning the management of the villa. The pool and outside areas are cleaned daily and all the external bins are emptied each day.
The Villa manager (David) came to introduce himself and provide us with plenty of recommendations and suggestions. He also gave us his number so that we could call at any time if we had any issues. He was a little like a private concierge and was really helpful.
Other than that we were not disturbed and we left to enjoy the relaxation that the Villa is designed to provide.
