Muddy Suite Apartment is a newly renovated 3-bedroom property located right in the heart of Kalkan’s old town quarter. The town beach and harbour area are just a 2-3 minute walk away and the delights of the picturesque old town are right on the doorstep, so the apartment is a great base from which to explore all the local amenities or to relax on the roof terrace, complete with plunge pool and great sea views.

I stayed in this property last year and found the location perfect for our needs, right in the centre of the Old Town and convenient for everything. We encountered a few issues with the apartment, most of which were easily remedied and I was assured the apartment was to be updated over the course of last winter. On this basis I was happy to book again for this year.
I learned purely by accident in early summer that the apartment had been sold after New Year and therefore no improvements had actually been carried out as the summer season was due to start just as the sale went through. Olive Tree Travel did not inform me of this to give me an opportunity to reflect on whether I wished to continue with the booking. I requested that a full inspection be carried out before our arrival, which I was assured would be done.
In a nutshell, we pretty much lost 3 days of our 11 day holiday waiting for various maintenance people to come and carry out repairs, the most worrying being when the outside handle to the front door came off and it took two visits to repair properly, pretty much marooning us until we felt safe to lock up and leave. With no maintenance having been carried out since last year, the apartment was shabby in parts upstairs, with a leaking shower and sink, and somewhat hazardous in my opinion, particularly on the terrace steps. The pool was not very clean and the jacuzzi and lights options did not work. The cushions on the terrace were literally dripping from the storms a few days prior to our arrival and took 3 days to dry out before we could sit on them.
There was always someone on hand to call, and problems were addressed speedily and with a good and helpful attitude. Nevertheless, it was frustrating to have to keep changing our plans in order to be present for people to come and sort things out.
I am confident that all sorts of renovations will be carried out in the coming months and the apartment has such tremendous potential, not least the wonderful view of the entire bay and the convenient location. The downside of this, however, was the level of night time noise this year, which was a major issue for us. We noticed far more young people coming into town in the evenings and some of the central bars are catering for their needs, playing loud, heavy base music until 2.00 am and on one night 4.00 am. This particular bar was round the corner from the apartment. Last year most music in the bars would finish by midnight and did not unduly impact on our sleep, and there were the two clubs on the other side of town for night owls, I feel it only fair in this account to make people aware that unless you are going to be staying up until the very early hours of the morning, you may need to consider this aspect before booking any property in the centre of town, which is such a shame because in every other respect it is the perfect location. The surrounding restaurants were never an issue and indeed there was a really good atmosphere in the evenings up on the terrace with the lights from the restaurants.
In answer to the question "would you recommend this property to others" it gives the option of yes or no. I would say Yes, provided a full renovation has been carried out (the description on Olive Tree Travel website says it is "newly renovated" which I think is misleading) and you are aware of the likely noise levels at night. On that understanding, you would find it difficult to find a more convenient and pleasant location. As for us, we are booking a hotel out of the Old Town next year!

Despite a few issues which could easily be remedied, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dome Coast. For us the location was perfect although for some the noise from the Old Street late at night might be a problem, so best to be aware. It didn't worry us too much. For ladies it is best to be aware if taking long dresses that the wardrobes don't accommodate them and we had to hang them up from doors and mirrors. I have suggested some hooks might be useful, strategically placed. There are no dressing tables and space is limited in the shower rooms, but we managed.
We loved the roof terrace and the utility room which led out to the terrace, where we prepared most of our drinks and snacks. The pool was cleaned every day by a very discreet young lady, and the couple of small issues we had were addressed immediately by the most helpful and pleasant people. The view of the bay from the roof terrace was wonderful and we enjoyed watching the gullets going out every morning and coming back every evening
Suffice to say that despite some "niggles" we have booked again for next year and our suggestions for improvements have evidently been taken on board. I would highly recommend Dome Coast if you like everything to be on your doorstep.

Having worked in the Travel Industry for over 30 years, the apartment and Kalkan ticked all the boxes for us. Right in the centre of the old town, the apartment has amazing views over the bay and roof top restaurants. Ideal for lazy summer evening just watching the sunset.
The top floor houses a laundry area which includes ironing board and iron, washing machine, fridge, water tank and sink. Which is ideal as it leads you on to the roof top where you have a covered dining area, plunge jacuzzi pool , 6 sunbeds and parasol. ( beach towels included)

There is also a double bedded bedroom on this floor, with en suite. This was ideal for our 18 year daughter to have her own space, it does have a sloping ceiling so if you are tall it’s not the best.

Down to the staircase will bring you in to the kitchen/diner all amenities including microwave, lovely small balcony , two bedrooms off this room 1 x twin, 1x doubled bedded room in this area and the shower room. The doubled bedded room had two balconies and safe deposit box.
I would have preferred more hangers in wardrobe , long dresses can’t fit in . No big deal because you are not there long anyway.

My 20 year old son felt it was noisy at night! We weren’t bothered the noise from bars in the distance where done by at least 1pm and who wants to go to bed early anyway on holiday.

Ufuk was our pool attendant during our stay, very helpful and attentive at all times. Takes your rubbish and cleans the pool. Also helped me with a replacement water tank.


I personally would have liked to have a small corner sofa , rug and table for comfort in place of the wicker table and chairs. But the owners have to think of their customer and who and how the space is used.
We are looking to return next year we loved it.

This is our 2nd year staying at Dome Coast Apartments. It's in a fabulous location in the old town surrounded by restaurants very close by.
The apartment is very comfortable, but for me the best part about it is the roof terrace. Wow it has amazing views from the seating area and the sunbeds. But not forgetting the small jet pool which is great when the sun starts to go down. I personally love it.
