Tiesel is a traditional Cotswold cottage in Brockhampton, a peaceful village that appears undisturbed by the passage of time. Together with its sister property next door, the cottage is the first in a small terrace of equally charming cottages and offers a wonderful base from which to discover the surrounding Cotswolds. Sleeping four guests in two bedrooms, a spacious living room with a cosy wood burner ,Tiesel Cottage is perfect for exploring Cheltenham Spa, Winchcombe and further afield.

The website and the welcome book in the cottage itself clearly stated that we would receive a welcome pack with fresh milk, butter, half a dozen eggs, bread, biscuits/cake, snacks and a bottle. All we were given were a pack of Malted Milk biscuits and a bottle of sparkling apple juice, so wasn't a great welcome!

The cottage is in need of some TLC, especially the garden which was overgrown and untidy. The gates don't lock either which meant the dogs were able to run out into the road.

The beds were uncomfortable, the bedding and towels need replacing and the smoke alarm on the ceiling in the hallway was missing.

The bathroom was a good size and the kitchen well equipped.

Very quaint cottage.
Cold on arrival, heating would have been nice being on.
Trying to eat with the cutlery supplied, well let’s just say normal knifes and forks would have been nice.
Bedrooms could have done with additional pillows, very flat.
Didn’t feel dirty, but cobwebs were very visible on walls etc and few fixes needed (hand towel rails in bathroom, both clinging on for dead life)
Just needs a little loving and attention to detail.
Nice touch with few welcome items.

Tiesel Cottage is the perfect place to escape the hustle of the city! Set amongst a few other lovely homes, it is just steps away from a pub with unexpectedly excellent food and drink on offer. The four humans and the dog in our party greatly appreciated the scenic country walks just on the doorstep. Decorated with period portraits and local scenes, the cottage made us feel like we were stepping back in time (albeit with a fully modern kitchen, well-appointed bathroom and comfy furnishings!). We enjoyed meals at the dining table followed by evenings chatting in the cozy living room beside the wood burning fireplace (perfect for nippy September weather). The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable and decorated to complement the cottage’s style. Our host made us feel especially welcome by providing a bottle of wine and some basics.

A brilliant stay in a really gorgeous location. Incredibly responsive when we had a problem with the hot water.

Lovely character cottage with great location for the main tourist towns etc.
Comfortable for 2 couples. Stairs a challenge for the elderly. Quiet location with nice and sunny outdoor area. Easy parking for 2 cars. Would recommend.

Ideal Cottage for walking in the Cotswolds. Brockhampton is a very quiet collection of Cotswolds houses in beautiful countryside. We found the kitchen very well equipped and a welcoming starter pack of baguettes, butter, apple juice, biscuits, eggs and milk. The fire was laid and a good amount of logs left in the basket. Parking easy with a gravel area for 2 cars. The cottage is spacious enough not to feel cramped. The pub opposite did excellent lunch. The pub like many these days is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, otherwise we would have visited it daily. We visited Chedworth Roman Villa and Winchcombe but the cottage is also in easy reach of other Cotswolds town such as Stow, Moreton and Cirencester in under 30 minutes. Nicely furnished and decorated but as you’d expect with stone walls and original single glazed mullion windows a bit chilly out of high season so the wood burner was a necessity. We were unlucky with the weather but I imagine in the sunshine it would be splendid for a short break.
