Beautiful lodge, in an excellent position. We spent 3 night there across a half term weekend with our 2 boys. Great location of long cycles, good activities within and around Isis lake. Thoroughly recommend.
The house was incredible, the owners really friendly and helpful. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean, luxurious towels and bedding etc and a beautiful fragrance throughout. The whole group loved their stay and we really hope to return. It is exactly as it looks in the photos and walk through, perhaps even better!
We had a most wonderful stay at Kestrel barn this weekend. Communication from Jo was really helpful. The house was spotless, the location was gorgeous. A cheese vending machine 2 min walk away.. what more can I say. We did a fantastic tour of Woodchester Vineyard on the Friday. Would highly recommend Wonky cabs to get around the area. Hot tub was perfect, especially on the stormy evenings! Beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. We would definitely return.
Great location. Very well equipped. Very good customer service. Bathrooms and kitchen equipment all very good.
The Long Barn is an amazing place to stay, hosted by Jane & Steve, the nicest people you could hope to meet, who made us feel so welcome from start to finish. We booked The Long Barn as a holiday to celebrate our two sons bdays (27 & 30), and along with partners we all had such a lovely time. The whole place is so well designed with luxury fittings, really comfy beds and bedrooms, and the Games Room was an absolute winner. It was where we spent a lot of time having great fun, everyone able to join in. We were allowed to wander around the farm, to see the horses, chickens etc and talk to Jane &...more
The Nest is a cosy, welcoming and very well equipped space with an excellent location for exploring the surrounding towns. Lovely little welcome basket on arrival with some local delicacies. Highly recommend.
Kentchurch court is a magical place and stayed here for my 60th birthday with family it’s home from home and it’s a beautiful place to spend a weekend with family it’s grounds and court are amazing and gathering of 26 members of the family able to stay and celebrate my birthday weekend.. massive thanks to all of the staff and owners for my cards and gifts too .
Lamb’s Lawn is a wonderful property set in a beautiful location. The house was immaculate and perfect for our group of five. Everything had been thought of and we felt like we were in a luxurious boutique hotel whilst having all the benefits of being self catered. We did not explore as much as we had planned to but went for a blustery walk in the stunning deer park and had a delicious lunch by the fire at the 3 Daggers. On our first morning it was magical to open the curtains and look out at a herd of deer gazing down at us! The rest of the time was spent chatting and relaxing, watching films,...more
We enjoyed a short break over the New Year and had a superb stay. Great communication from the outset with Julie the owner and accommodation was spotless and in a perfect location for exploring further a field. Prestbury is a lovely village with 3 good pubs all within a 10 min walk from the Stables. Will definitely return on our next trip to the Cotswolds.
We loved staying at The Little Forge. We could walk to everything in Bourton on the Water and The Slaughters. It was cozy and perfectly fit our needs.
A groionof us stayed on Stourton Manor over the New Year period. The house was fantastically located and a lot of space. Great for large family meals and games etc with open fires to cosy up to. Beautifully furnished and the kitchen has everything you need.
The standard of the accommodation was exceptional. The bedrooms were all spacious with good hanging space and drawers, each with a bathroom. The added bonus was that there were enough walk in showers to mange 3 elderly relatives who all had their own bedroom but had a safe option of the walk in shower. The lounge was comfy and the kitchen very well equipped. Parking was ample and there was no feeling of being overlooked despite other properties fairly close. Could not fault the property and would absolutely recommend.
Wonderful accommodation for family exmas break. Spotlessly clean. Only a couple of things which would improve the experience: 1. The oven is not big enough for such a large group booking and delayed our Xmas lunch considerably. 2.A significant cold draft in main living area by bar which made the room chilly. We had children with us so could not make use of the open fire. 3.check in at 4pm quite late to settle in with babies and children. 10 am checkout early for same reasons , tricky with so many people and children. Otherwise thoroughly recommend it’s amazing !
We loved our stay here, the cottage was spotless and had everything you could need. Even complete with a welcome hamper of local produce. It’s located well to get out and visit the Cotswolds. We had two cars and had no problem parking on the street outside the cottage. Thank you for a lovely stay, would definitely recommend!
Sweetslade Cottage exceeded both of our expectations. There was private parking outside the cottage, which was lit up beautifully when we arrived. We walked in to music playing in the background and were blown away by the decor and cleanliness. There were so many added extra little touches that made it stand out from anywhere we have stayed before. Neatly arranged flowers from the garden were placed on the bedside table which looked beautiful. You really can see the effort that the owners put in to make it such a memorable getaway. We liked it so much that when we arrived home we wanted to red...more
We had the most wonderful few days at Upper Lodge. The house is absolutely beautiful and incredibly welcoming. We spent many happy hours relaxing on the comfy sofas in front of the log fire, which made it feel extra cosy. The property was perfectly equipped for both adults and children, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and having a beautiful en suite for each bedroom made such a difference. The location is stunning, with lovely walks right on the doorstep for the dog, and being able to stroll to a local pub was a real bonus. We...more
We chose Timber Lodge as it was close to Oxford and had good bus and train services to the city. Not long after we arrived, Lisa called round to check that we had everything we needed. She is a very friendly and welcoming host and we got the impression that, if we did need help or have questions, nothing would be too much trouble. The Lodge was very clean, well equipped and well kept - and exactly as described. Off-street parking was appreciated, as was the train trip into Oxford - just 10 minutes and we were there! The village shop was impressive with a wide range of quality goods. We hope to...more
We had a lovely stay at the Coach House in Cold Aston. Having driven in to the gated private car park adjacent to the house, we entered through the kitchen door to find a charming, clean and very comfortable holiday house. The bedrooms are large and there is plenty of storage space for clothes and luggage. The beds are SO comfortable. The bathroom whilst small has a loo, basin and a great shower . Downstairs the living/dining room is large with comfortable sofas and a log burner. There is a large dining table that seats 6 easily. The kitchen had a fabulous pantry large enough to store food an...more
A lovely location with great views, everything you’d need was provided in this lovely cosy pod. An amazing nights sleep on the most wonderful pillows alongside the warmth of the wood burner.
A lovely home with everything we needed. Even in the rain we had a wonderful relaxing time. Great spot close to Moreton on Marsh where we did the recommended loop walk (2 hours) - very wet but a lovely route. Drove to Daylesford farm and bourton on the water too. Highly recommended.
I stayed at Lake Cottage to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday. The property was spotless and so well equipped. We all commented multiple times on how the owners had gone above and beyond to fill the cupboard with everything you could need for a short break. The building itself is stunning and in a picturesque location. Not to mention the friendly pig on site who was a family favourite. I would highly recommend staying at Lake Cottage. We will be looking at booking our next staycation there shortly.
This was our second visit and it didn't disappointment. We are a family with ages from 4 to 66 and 2 labradors , the Farmhouse and facilities suited everybody. The morning hampers and the fridge filled with breakfast goodies were first class! We will return.
The house is really beautiful, the grounds also are lovely, lots of space. It is pretty far from the village, a solid 15 minute walk. And the village is tiny. But if you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track then this is it.
We loved every moment of our stay at Lakeside Cottage. Hosts Carol and Peter were warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Accommodation was superb- beautiful views, home comforts, lovely welcome with a loaf of Peter’s homemade bread. Comfortable beds and furniture, lovely and quiet, lots of wildlife to keep us occupied. Don’t be put off by the steep little hill on the track going in/out… it’s worth it! We would definitely go back in a heartbeat!
I would highly recommend this stay. Everything is all 5 stars, it was very cosy and the 2 barns worked well for us.
Had a wonderful two night stay in this amazing 'home'. Warm, very clean, very comfortable and cannot think of anything I would change ....other than the length of our stay!!We booked for a family gathering for my son's wedding at Elmore Court which worked perfectly ( the groomsmen were able to join us at the house for dressing on the day). All of our needs were covered and communicating with David and Claire ( many congratulations to you both on the new baby girl) was excellent. I enjoyed the compliments from my family on my choice of accommodation. Perfect!! Thanks for all your hospitalit...more
Enjoyed our stay; my only disappointment was a refuse bin full of maggots; don't think it had been emptied in a very long time and was not due to be emptied during my stay but was very unpleasant. The bin collection process obvious left a lot to be desired.
We love Cheltenham for short breaks and coming to the Races. After many, many years of visits. We have finally found the perfect place to stay. The communication with Karen before and during our stay was fantastic. The house is clean, modern, spacious for 6. Homely but roomy and a very sociable place to stay. It has every facility you should wish to have. The bedrooms all have en-suite with an extra bathroom downstairs also. The location is right by the train station with a lovely walk down the old railway line straight into Cheltenham just down the road. Parking for 3 cars. Local shop...more
We had a lovely 3 night stay at Wallhope Retreat with our 7 year old son and our dog. It was a great location, great views and walks straight from the door. The onsite milk vending and ice-cream were amazing! The only thing that would have made it better for our circumstances were that the garden to the front had a fence but wasn't enclosed so we couldn't get our dog off her lead in it in case she ran down the steep embankment into the below field (she's a spaniel and has a total mind of her own at times!) and because she will only go for a wee on grass, it made going to the toilet late/earl...more
We had a fantastic time at Apple Store Cottage. Very clean, very comfortable, very cosy, and in an excellent location in the grounds of a beautiful house with lovely hosts. Would highly recommend.
We absolutely fell in love with old Myrtle Cottage, a beautiful, well equipped property in the most perfect location for getting out and about in the Forest of Dean. The Farmers Boy Inn, just 200 yards up the road, was a lovely bonus. Their friendly welcome and hospitality, along with their excellent food and beverages, really helped to make our stay even better. We can’t wait to go back and discover more of the area!!
What a gem! We knew we were getting something special from the photos, but the attention to detail at Zion is exceptional - such wonderful restoration and taste. The welcome pack and huge basket of logs was so generous - above and beyond our expectations. Amazing walks from the door and such a cosy fireplace to return to meant that we didn’t use the car - and we didn’t even switch the TV on. Loved cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, great shower and toiletries, very comfy bed and nice outside space too which our terrier enjoyed. We are even converts to the futon. Looking forward to future v...more
A beautiful secluded home surrounded by lush countryside, perfect for a family break. With walks and cycle rides straight from the front door suitable for multi generational outings! One morning we walked to Cranham Common and had a delicious pub lunch at the Back Horse Inn. Lovely little stream in the valley provided opportunities for several games of pooh sticks and bird watching. The beautiful garden was a joy to sit in when the sun shone and provided space for us just to hang out, play games and explore. Beautiful large house to suit our ever growing family, perfectly located on the site . Superb kitchen equipment and comfortable beds
We stayed at The Weir House over Christmas and it was honestly magical. The setting is absolutely idyllic — right next to the river with beautiful views of the rapids, Yat Rock, and the little cottages twinkling with Christmas lights on the hill. The house itself is stunning. Spotlessly clean, incredibly spacious, and the beds were really comfortable. The kitchen was so well equipped with every piece of kitchenware you could ever need — the owners have clearly thought of absolutely everything. It was beautifully festive for Christmas too, and there was plenty of space for us to host my fami...more
We had a wonderful time at Teagles cottage. The house was absolutely beautiful and exactly as described, with a fantastic location that was perfect for exploring. The property is very well equipped and has everything you need if you wanted to eat in. We ate out as so many options for food just a few steps away but did appreciate the lovely welcome pack. Oh and the beds are super comfy! The host Lyndsey was very helpful and gave us a couple of great recommendations. We stayed as a family of three adult couples. It was a perfect layout for us and the amenities were just right. The house itself is stunning, as is the property it’s on. We were able to see all over the Cotswolds and have a lovely home to come back to at night. We would absolutely stay again!
Lovely extremely clean and well thought out cottage . Provided a great comfortable stay for 2 extremely picky couples . Would highly recommend.
Lovely cottage, amazing location for village with convenient parking space. Very clean and well equipped. Would highly recommend.
We had such a wonderful stay, thank you for being such warm and thoughtful hosts. The accommodation was cosy and comfortable, and the surroundings were beautiful. The delicious baked cake waiting for us on arrival was such a lovely and welcoming touch. The highlight for our family was visiting the barn, my daughter absolutely loved seeing the horses and cows and hasn’t stopped talking about it! We really appreciated your kindness and hospitality, which made our trip extra special. We hope to visit again someday.
We absolutely loved everything! We felt very relaxed during our stay. Cottage was super clean and the view on the church was awesome.
A group of 9 friends stayed for 3 nights. Very happy to highly recommend. Immaculately clean, really comfortable beds, well equipped kitchens. Very short walk and on to the Cotswold Way. The Nissan Hut is a very warm accomodation, we stayed end of October/early November and had the heating off and windows open! Customer service was outstanding, all questions answered promptly and extremely helpful. Thank you!
Comfortable, stylish lodge in a beautiful little village located conveniently close to Oxford (Park and Ride 10 minutes away and definitely recommend) and other attractions such as Blenheim Palace (15 minutes drive). Lisa, the owner, was great - really friendly and responsive when we had an issue with connecting to the WIFI (which turned out to be our error). The lodge is beautifully furnished and so comfortable (particularly the super king bed in the ground floor bedroom) with everything we needed to self cater on a couple of evenings. Fabulous start to our New Year!
Lovely clean and well set out shepherds hut, ideally positioned for exploring the Cotswolds. Very close to GWR steam railway, Studley castle & Hailes abbey. The host is very friendly & helpful. Very peaceful weekend had by all.
Beautiful property right in the centre of town with plenty of restaurants cafes and pubs all around. Wonderfully equipped with everything needed and everything thought of including high chairs and cots Property was nicely heated throughout our stay We had absolutely no issues here and were lucky enough to meet the very accommodating owner Liz. Cant recommend enough and would definitely return
A quirky, well appointed accomodation in splendid surroundings. A wonderful fireplace and a special room for the children, filled with large soft cushions. We were lucky with the weather and had great walks in the Slad valley, but in case of rain the place is big enough for eight people to be comfortable. The Woolpack pub is only a few minutes down the road. It is advisable to bring torches for the walk in the dark, as the road is narrow and busy, although traffic is slow due to the parking arrangements. We had a wonderful stay. We forgot a bottle of whiskey, the caretaker and the person at th...more
We stayed for 4 nights between Christmas and New Year. Had a great time in the cottage- everything we needed for a relaxing stay! Thank you to the owners for the Christmas tree and mince pies!
The best Cotswold cottage rental we have ever stayed in, the attention to detail from the owners is outstanding. Had a slight issue with the WiFi when we arrived, my sister messaged the owner and he helped us to sort it straight away, great service. Great location to be able to get to all the different villages and very private. Perfect for a large family with children, numerous communal areas so that we could all be together but we also had plenty of space, we would 100% return. Thank you for having us :)
A nicely laid out floor plan with excellent amenities for both bedrooms. The house was well presented and had a generous amount of utilities and linen etc. Good parking .. overall an excellent experience
Fabulous property that is as good if not better than the pictures. Every room is a new surprise & caters for another situation - from the large formal reception rooms to the smaller, cosy snugs. Every bedroom is excellent. Having access to the surrounding deer park allows you to be lord of the manor for the weekend! The house was beautifully prepared by Linda & Helen as housekeepers who also provided a detailed tour on arrival. The property is extremely well equipped- I can't remember ever renting a property with as varied & extensive equipment list. Despite being a large & old property the p...more
Just returned from this fabulous property. The location couldn’t be better…literally minutes from the centre of Marlborough with all its shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. This house was perfect for our girls weekend. Loads of space and loads of bathrooms! The communication was also great and we were recommended where to park safely and for free for the whole weekend (literally round the corner!) FYI parking is always a problem in Marlborough. This house is perfectly suited for large group gatherings…really comfortable and we all loved it!
What a gorgeous house, well appointed and located just outside Nailsworth - about a10 minute drive. Really comfy and homely for all its size. Wonderful beds and linen, plentiful wood for the fires. A particular shout out to Joe and Jen who looked after us brilliantly
The House was great. - really comfortable and enormous! We stayed with friends and had a wonderful time
Friends and I had a very delightful stay in this lovely three bedroom two bathroom property. Ultra clean, lovely and warm, with the option to use the log burner. A well equipped kitchen should you wish to self cater. There are lovely views from the kitchen and lounge window and although this property is on a working farm, there is little or no noise to interrupt your stay. Adequate parking for 2 to 3 cars which you can park very close to the entrance door for easy unloading. We drove into Bath which is approximately 7 miles away, and on a separate occasion we chose to use the park-and-ride whi...more
Fantastic cottage beautiful decoration brilliant location everything as we expected and more pulled out all the stops
Would highly recommend a stay in Bertha for a peaceful time away. Lovely finishes all round and very comfortable. Coffee on the porch each morning taking in the views was definitely a highlight.
Beecham Farmhouse is a fantastic property for a family, plenty of space to spend time together. Lots of separate spaces for different age groups, games room, den, tv room, hot tub. Our group age ranged from 75 years to 6 years, including teenagers and we all loved it! Beds really comfortable, fluffy towels added to luxe feel. Great customer service from the house managers, who responded promptly when we had a couple queries. Would be even better if there were speakers to play music through (especially the games room). I would recommend to any family group- it was gorgeous.
From start to finish our experience with your company was superb. I was looking for a cottage within driving distance of David Austin Roses and Kat found the perfect spot. Also village with a pub and near other villages. Again ticked all the boxes. My wife is very light sleeper and the noise from the fridge did sometimes wake her. All in all a perfect week and will be sure to use your company again.
Very comfortable, clean and sparkling new. There are dramatic views from nearby Dovers hill over the vale of Evesham, and a good network of footpaths close by. We had some great walks and runs.
A lovely secluded cottage with a welcoming fire! Perfectly placed to enjoy the countryside around Hay on Wye, and relax for a few days.
Japonica is very well equipped and perfect accommodation for a holiday. We went in winter so didn’t use outside but inside was super cosy and great for family socialising as the kitchen and lounge area are together. It is on quite a main road and not scenic from the house but only a short walk into the very picturesque village Would recommend this property
We had a fabulous 80th birthday celebration in Toms Barn. A really nice place and well appointed with everything we needed. My son, a chef, loved the kitchen. And the 5 double bedrooms, all effectively with their own bathroom, worked well. We’ll be back.
From the moment we arrived we knew were were going to love our stay. Could not fault the cottage for its postion, cleanliness, well equipped kitchen and very large lounge which accommodated 5 adults and an 'one the go' toddler perfectly. I have marked comfort down by one mark as the sofas were not the most comfortable. Every activity we wanted to do was within 10 - 20 mins away - perfect. We loved our stay and would definately recommend it. Thank you so much Mary for the delicious cake and eggs x
We booked Colebrook Cottage for a family gathering the weekend before Christmas with our two adult children, their spouses and our two ‘toddler’ grandsons. The property is presented beautifully and has everything we needed in terms of bedrooms, bathrooms etc. The beautiful kitchen which is very well equipped is the ‘hub’ of the property and we ‘cooked in’ for a couple of nights whilst eating out one night at the local pub (Great Western Arms?) which is a few minutes walk away and offers good pub food, great local ales and a lovely warm welcome from Drew the landlord. We visited Stow on the Wol...more
What a treat, the pictures do it no justice. The house has everything you need and lovely a warm with two fabulous fireplaces for cold days.
We’ve just returned from a lovely stay at Hare Cottage. It was in the perfect location for us, surrounded by fields and lush greenery. Very peaceful and tranquil. The cottage is beautiful and clean. And was very well equipped for the duration of our stay.
This is a returning visit for us, with 4 of our friends and all new parents. We had the most incredible stay once again, and the babies loved the space they had to play around inside and out in. Would highly recommend staying there with friends& family, the local village has some amazing pubs & restaurants. This will not be our last visit.
We booked this last minute when our booking elsewhere was cancelled! What a perfect house for a calm, quiet and chilled half term. Perfect location for walks, bike rides, trips to the FOD! We will definitely be back! The house was cosy & comfortable and had everything we needed. The housekeeper Tracey was very responsive and helpful.
It was a privilege to stay in a Grade 11 Jacobean House with a number of original features and tastefully modernised. The kitchen was well equipped and dining facilities were excellent so you could comfortably dine in or out in the garden.Grosmont is a lovely village and the house overlooks interesting Church and also Grosmont Castle is a stones throw away and the local pub is even nearer. It was too hot for much walking but lovely views from the surrounding hills and several interesting churches and castle ruins not far. We made friends with several people in the village.
Such a little gem of a cottage in a delightful village. Arrived earlier than expected but the host allowed us to check in early - so helpful. Everything was even better than we expected and accommodation was so practical for the two of us with our French Waterdog, Burdock (flagstone floors made it even easier). Loved the fact that the kitchen suited us, with good quality kit so you could actually cook great meals from scratch - bags of fridge space too. We only used one bedroom, looking out onto the neighbouring church adding to the relaxing feel and my word, that bed was super comfy! Gre...more
We have just returned from a beautiful weekend away at this property for my dad’s 70th birthday. The property is really lovely as is the location. Prior to the visit the housekeeper Tracey was so accommodating and helpful too. The only downside is one bathroom and for 6 guests there was often a queue for toilet or shower! Apart from that highly recommend!
We stayed in Betty 13th - 15th November. What a beautiful peaceful location! The Hut has everything needed for a comfortable stay, lovely shower room with super water pressure (better than home) and towels, shampoo, body wash, hairdryer etc provided.. The kitchen has everything needed, cooker, hob, microwave, kettle and all the crockery and utensils, they even provided tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits. The kingsized bed is really comfortable, there are some books and games to make use of. There is central heating and also a log burner with logs provided, we used this and it was very...more
Lovely cottage, beautifully decorated and very clean and warm. Beds very comfortable. Great location within a short walk to the centre of town. Kitchen was fantastic and well-equipped. Only slight negative was the size of the dining table in the kitchen - it's tiny! There is space to accommodate a much bigger table which would make things more comfortable when having a meal.
We rented this house for an 18th birthday celebration with the family and it was perfect. The house was beautiful. It was well maintained. The hot tub was wonderful. The gardens were beautiful. The fact we had complete free rein of the estate was fabulous. It was a perfect house in a wonderful location And I would highly recommend
Es un rincon precioso y muy agradable. Ademas nos dejaron detalles a la llegada como una botella de vino, mantequilla, pan y mas cosas. Es de las mejores estancias que hemos estado. Muchas gracias.
The whole feeling was of a well maintained and very well stocked home. The kitchen had everything you would need and the bathroom was of a very high standard as were all areas of the house. It is in a very good location for exploring the area. The only minor criticism would be that the "leaving instructions" are rather vague regarding what to do with rubbish and one of the drive lights was out. We had a wonderful stay and will certainly stay there again.
Our thanks to Liam and Pete for their helpful information via messaging just prior to our visit. It was great to know either (in our case, Liam) was available for contact. The Moorhens Cottage was lovely, clean, beautifully warm and welcoming with a Christmas tree. The kitchen a tad small with a limited amount of work and store space. The cooker was a challenge at first until we found the instructions. (It maybe useful to sort all the equipment instructions into one place. I put as many as I could into one drawer.) The roads are very narrow and unloading and loading a little difficult ...more
Kington Grange is a stunning property, full of character with everything you need for lovely break. We stayed as a group of 14 (8 adults and 6 kids) and the 7 bedroom property easily accommodated us. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you can think of and the flagstone floor has underfloor heating. The swimming lake and hot tub are fabulous. Charming and cosy cottage. It was clean and comfortable with all amenities for an easy stay and the Christmas decorations were a lovely touch. We would definitely return.
Lovely stay, beautiful place, spacious, clean, ample parking and great location. Hosts were very welcoming and left some useful tips on where to eat locally.
The house is absolutely beautiful, centrally located, equipped with everything and more than you need for a relaxing break away. The house is just a dream, we all had the most amazing 3 night stay, everything was perfect with the added touch of fresh milk and a homemade lemon cake awaiting us. Lots of small luxury touches throughout the house. Definitely recommend and we will be back (perhaps without the children next time)
We decided to go on a very last minute weekend away to Oxford. The Little Coach House was absolutely perfect for us as a family of 4. It was clean and had everything we needed for our long weekend. It was only a short drive to the nearest park and ride and also close to Blenheim, so the location was perfect. Our hosts were so kind by greeting us when we arrived and giving us ideas for places for us to visit during our stay. We have already recommended to friends and would absolutely stay again. Many thanks
Warm, comfortable stay for a family of 4. Property is well situated to explore the area. Overall a lovely stay.
We had a wonderful weekend celebrating my 65 birthday at kingfisher cottage. It was a perfect place for extended family with my toddler Granddaughter. It was lovely and warm , very large with a very well equipped kitchen. Lots of room for everyone to relax with several sofas to lounge on. Beds were comfortable with excellent en suites . We were just 5 minutes walk to centre of town with pubs and restaurants
We found Bolthole Retreats from a web search, therefore a little sceptical at first, however, now using the site we found it to be very professional with a very useful “manage my booking” section with all the info you need. Lower Lodge Gatehouse was exceptional. The photos do not do justice to the excellent finish the place has. It was cosy by the fire as the snow fell and can imagine it being wonderful in summer with the outdoor spaces. The steps to the main living area are steep but not a problem for us. The underfloor heating was welcome after taking off our muddy walking boots. Finally ...more
The house was just as advertised. Very clean and comfortable. The house was well stocked with bathroom and kitchen essentials though I did wish I had taken kitchen roll! Around the property were numerous instructions one of which told us how quiet the area was. In the instructions before arriving we were told no noise outside after 10pm. During our stay we obeyed these rules. Our neighbours did not. I was still listening to their garden party noise at midnight. There was a similar situation on the second night though it did finish earlier. Such a shame that this was the only blight on our s...more
Second time staying at this property would definitely use it again when visiting family in the area. Nice to be able to come back knowing that it’s a relaxing property with all that you require when not at home! So peaceful!
Stepping Stones is beautifully situated in Blockley, a pretty village in the Cotswolds. The owners had thoughtfully left decorations for Christmas, the accommodation was extremely comfortable, and it was an excellent base from which to walk and explore during Christmas. The house was very well equipped, both in the kitchen and throughout the living accommodation. One or two things need to be brought to the owner’s attention: The freezer was badly iced up, and needs defrosting. The rails and tray in the oven were dirty. The TV channels were difficult to access, and access to Netflix etc w...more
Perfect house for our group celebrating a birthday. Great location to walk to pubs and restaurants. We also did a circular countryside walk from the house. Good entertaining space but not enough crockery, cutlery or glasses. A few additions would make all the difference.
Stayed for my 50th birthday and there were 7 of us ranging from 47 to 87. The house is beautiful, very well stocked and beautifully presented. We loved every room and the owners thought of everything. We used the hot tub which was lovely also. Pub in the village does great food
The house was everything and more we were hoping for. It has everything you could need for a large group including 2 dishwashers and plenty of glasses, crockery and cooking equipment. The decor is perfect for the property. Location wise was great and we really enjoyed walking around the castle grounds. Overall 5 star rating. We loved it.
We loved our stay at Lockes Cottage it was simply charming. The location was very tranquil and exactly what we were looking for. The furnishing and decor was lovely and super comfy. The linen and towels were gorgeous and bed and pillows super comfy. We slept so well and had a really relaxing time. The log fire was brilliant and we enjoy using the compact but very well equipped kitchen.
This was a perfect location for us, halfway between us and family we were meeting up with. It was easy to find and it was good that there were a few pubs and villages close by. The house was really tastefullly decorated and furnished, and the ensuite bathrooms were spacious and modern and were a great find for us. The back garden was enclosed with plenty of room for the dogs to runaround in, and had plenty of furniture to sit and enjoy food and drink outside. And even though the hot tub was across the courtyard it still felt quite private. The hosts were very friendly and sorted out any min...more
Thanks to all at Hunt Court for a lovely stay, very comfortable and quiet and exactly what we were after.
Forsythia Cottage is a quaint, cosy cottage in a fabulous location. Excellent for a couple. On the downside, the shower is very cramped and, although it is centrally heated, the cottage can be a little chilly (especially the bathroom) in very cold weather. There is a gas fire in the lounge, though. Overall, a lovely place for a Cotswold break.
Inglenook cottage is an amazing location to enjoy visiting the Cotswolds. We were a ground up family of 5 and it ticked all the boxes. Charlbury has the most amazing pubs for food and drink. My eldest daughter and her boyfriend were travelling out of London so we chose this location for train accessibility. Nothing disappointed
Chalford Manor provided a wonderful place for us to meet up with our extended family. There was plenty of space for our 10-person group to relax both together and separately. Astrid provided great communication before and during our stay and had a gorgeous welcome basket for us when we arrived. The house was also very accommodating for children, with a cot, high chairs, toys, and books. We stayed for a week and could easily have stayed longer!
Tetbury is a great location for a holiday. Not as busy and crowded as some Cotswold towns but with enough shops, pubs and restaurants to be self-sufficient and all the other main attractions are not far away by car. The National Arboretum and Cirencester are recommended. The Mews is centrally located within a quiet corner of the town and a short walk to several nice pubs, cafe's and restaurants. A good convenience store is a short walk and a large supermarket a very short drive. The apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival and furnished and decorated to a very high standard. Would certainly...more
Foxholme Manor is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the Cotswolds close to some of the area's most picturesque places. The grounds with tennis court, swimming pool, orchard etc are extensive and the walks to nearby pubs and villages are stunning and offer wonderful views of the countryside. The house itself is huge and perfect for a multi-generational family like us. There are lots of different sitting areas so it's easy to spread out. Though the kitchen is very well equipped, it is relatively small for the size of the property and doesn't have much food preparation space. I wo...more
We had a wonderful stay with family and dogs in the Keeper's Cottage on the edge of the Forest of Dean. The cottage was clean, well equipped, warm, and had plenty of space for all of us. We were welcomed with milk, bread, and treats for the dog. Highly recommend, we hope to return.
We booked The Loft in conjunction with Kington Grange itself. This was an amazing space to use for communal activities and meals. It was really comfortable, bright and had some lovely features.
Fabulous accommodation. Everything was impeccably clean. Space was huge and views were delightful. Totally recommend to anyone.
Couldn't fault anything related to our stay. The company were quick to respond to queries, helpful and prompt with information regarding our booking. The property was stunning and as described in the perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds. The house was clean, tidy and great for the relaxing weekend we had planned. Would highly recommend and would return.
Barns Lee was exceptional in every aspect. We had the most wonderful family get together for Christmas. A luxurious home with a wonderful layout. The added bonus of the Hot Tub got lots of use! Lots of lovely countryside walks. Would highly recommend.
Amazing! An absolute treat staying at the Cottage Studio. Everything was easy to navigate, clean, and perfect guides and choice of simple games for our family to use. Location was heavenly- we can’t wait to come back!
Lovely thatched cottage in a great location, for relaxing, walking, sigh seeing. Close enough to visit other towns, local Pub did good food plus nice hospitality. Will be re booking.
This is our second Dec stay at Farthingdales cottage, On arrival it was lovely to see the real Christmas tree in situ and the light on for us. Our only criticism is that the main bedroom is very cold, the radiator doesn't give out much heat. It was the same last year. The window would benefit from a shutter or blind as very cool and draughty. It did affect our enjoyment
We so enjoyed staying at Wynyard Mill, such a delightful house which was well equipped and in a good location to explore the surrounding area.
We absolutely loved our stay at Browns Cottage in Charlbury. What a perfect base to explore the Cotswolds with a wonderful village and pubs on our doorstep. The cottage had everything we needed, we loved the log fire and our family of 5 were perfectly comfortable for our 4 night stay. We would highly recommend this cottage for any family looking for a well-equiped, quaint stay in the Cotswolds.
Had a fantastic time here - the inlaws came from abroad and we wanted to get them out of the city. The cottage was fantastic - very high spec, cosy and plenty of space. beautiful location and accessible to the surrounding villages to explore the Cotswolds. The communication was great - quick, hellpful and accomodating. We had a wonderful time.
Lovely house and location. Beautifully furnished upstairs, light throughout, with nice views from all the windows. Comfort would have been a 5 not 4 if both beds had been a bit more comfie. The owners were very attentive when the toaster caused the lights to trip. Would not hesitate to recommend as a perfect place for a quiet retreat, or base to explore the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.
We were two families who come together every February for our hot tub holiday and this did not disappoint! The sunken hot tub was new to us and actually helped keep the wind off you! It was well maintained and looked after throughout our week stay which is excellent. The house was big enough for all of us with a few little niggles which I’ve informed them about! Generally clean throughout and the beds comfy! You could walk to the local town but it is a little bit of a walk - we did it a couple of times and enjoyed it! The drive to the house is long and bumpy and hard to navigate first t...more
We enjoyed our stay very much at Crofters Barn. It was comfortable, clean and an ideal location for exploring the Cotswolds. However, this is our fourth visit to the Cotswolds and the only place where we have not received a welcome pack. A few essentials like milk, bread etc would have been nice after a long day travelling. The only other thing was that the windows in the sunroom could have done with a clean. However, we would have no reservations in returning to Crofters Barn or recommending it to others.
Beautiful property clean and extremely cosy, and beds and bedding all good, and set in beautiful garden, private and peaceful. The house is a period property and beams and marble surfaces are a lovely feature. Alison, our contact was excellent. The negatives the hot tub took 24hrs to heat,so for a short break £150 really gave us only two days. The games room simply has table football,we thought possibly darts, table tennis would be available. Bedrooms all spacious and comfortable but limited clothes hanging ,and finally beautiful kitchen, cooker and an aga but no food storage cupboards so difficul...more
We stayed for Christmas and the house was perfect, plenty of space and had most things we needed. The garden was amazing for our dog and secure. The only little niggle (which wasn’t really a problem) was that the double bedroom to the right of the house seems to have a problem with ladybugs coming in through the window frames. Other than that we can’t fault this house at all.
Bell cottage has been designed and styled to give a country cottage feel. The owner’s personal touches and attention to detail make it feel very much like a ‘home from home’. The kitchen is well equipped. The lounge has an open fire. The location is within walking distance of a fab coffee shop called The Missing Bean, which is well worth a visit. The pub next door The Bell does great food. The Bull is another gastro pub.
Pickett Cottage is a comfortable, clean and peaceful setting for a stay in the Cotswolds. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining and lounge areas are very comfortable and pleasant. The cottage has a wood burner which warms the living areas very well. the outlook of Pickett Cottage is really pleasant and it is well placed for walking and exploring the Cotswolds by other means. The two bedrooms upstairs in the cottage are very comfortable. One is ensuite and the other is located near a shower-room. These bathrooms are good but the water did not have great pressure and at times was not ...more
Woodmancote cottage is a very cosy house, full of character. It is in a very quiet setting, yet close to amenities. The accommodation was perfect for our group of two couples. The only things that could have improved our stay were larger beds, and one of the radiators was not working in one bedroom.
We recently stayed at Crafty Cottage in the village of Chipping Campden along with our dog. The cottage is very well equipped, comfortable, exceptionally clean and very well positioned for walks, shops and all the pubs and restaurants in the village which are all dog friendly. There are a number of other villages that are just a short drive away. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again or book other accommodation with Bolthole Retreats.
The cottage is clean, comfortable, well equipped and nicely decorated. We enjoyed our sta and would stay again.
We were a family group of nine with two dogs. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this special house. The lovely (quiet!) sitting room and a living room with the tv both had cosy open fires, much needed during a very chilly, but thankfully mainly dry, spell during our time here. The open plan kitchen and dining area meant there’s plenty of room for everyone. A huge dining table was great for playing games. The large garden is gorgeous (and must be spectacular in the warmer months). The eleven and twelve year olds loved having the horses nearby. Enjoyed one truly delicious meal at The Star pub,...more
This is a lovely property in a magnificent setting in the Slad Valley…regrettably the owner is clueless as to his responsibilities to allow tenants “quiet and peaceful use of the property”…despite placing a deposit 9 months in advance and fully paying for the letting 60 days in advance; the owner thought it proper to have painters sanding, scrapping and painting on the exterior of the property during the first 3 days of our tenancy without seeking prior consent …rather than risk further disrupting our long planned holiday we chose not raise the issue until the end of our tenancy…this was a big...more
A group of 2 families with 3 children (between ages 1 - 3) stayed at this cottage over a weekend. From our first view of the cottage when we pulled into the drive it was beautiful and very well maintained. The inside was even more perfect, rooms were beautiful and tastefully decorated, kitchen was very well equipped - we couldn’t fault it. Beds were comfortable and great sizes. This cottage was perfect as when the kids were in bed the adults could make use of the games room. The welcome pack of coffee and chocolates was a nice touch. The cottage is perfectly located with a convenience stor...more
Percy House is wonderfully located in a quiet suburban street within walking distance of Stratford upon Avon town centre with all its many attractions. The house is warm and cosy in winter and worked well for a three generation half term break. We were disappointed by some elements of cleanliness and minor maintenance issues and have reported these to Bolthole Retreats who have advised they will be addressed. My recommendation below is based on these issues being addressed.
Lovely spot, walking distance from a great pub, comfortable, cosy. Well equipped kitchen. A bit more cutlery would have been good, otherwise splendid!
As we opened the front door of barn end, it was clear that the house had not been open for at least a few days. There were a number of wasps flying around on the ground floor, perhaps a dozen. We killed or let out through the windows, perhaps10 or 15. There were dead wasps around the house. Initially it wasn’t clear whether there was an infestation somewhere but we didn’t find one. The other points that the owner should be aware are as follows: the outside door leading from the living room to the back patio was shut but unlocked and anyone could have stepped in. The left-hand bath tap is abo...more
Beautiful two-bed cottage with everything you needed in a gorgeous location with fantastic weather - who wants anything else! Lovely large bathroom with a great shower and great kitchen space. In true cottage fashion the living space is small but comfortable. As the listing warns, the stairs are tight and you need to be nimble. The only downside was that the main bed mattress wasn’t massively comfortable.
We visited Middle Barn for a long weekend of birthday celebrations for my mum and family. Communication with our hosts (Tom and Kate) was great, we met them on arrival and nothing was too much trouble over the weekend, giving us good local information as to where to go, where to park and what to do. The barn was very clean, warm and cosy. The log burner was lovely for a November evening. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and it was a perfect space for having a family celebration. We would have no hesitation in booking again.
Excellent location in Stow but felt the house needed a bit of TLC with lounge furniture in need of updating and renewal of oven cupboards. We used three of the five excellent bedrooms but felt a full occupancy would be a little cramped in the Lounge area. We did however have a very enjoyable time at the property
The property was well equipped and had plenty of space downstairs with a vey spacious conservatory. Being tucked away through a series of arches it was not the easiest place to find, although the instructions were clear. This problem was offset by the fact that parking was very easy and being away from the main road meant that it was quiet.
Fabulous stay at Mayfly Cottage clean throughout. Well presented. Well equiped kitchen and use of basic essentials.. Great location within the Cotswolds water park! Would 100% stay again
An unusually configured property in a very pleasant setting on the edge of Malmesbury. Comfortable double bed, well equipped kitchen and great views from the top floor living room. NB - a number of very steep stairs to consider if you have any limitations and the attractive leather loungers shown in the promotional photos are no longer in place.
Great house in a quiet road - plenty of room to accommodate our family group of 6 adults and 3 cars. Tastefully decorated throughout. 10 minute stroll to the village centre and a Budgens store. The Wheatsheaf Inn, was a particular favourite with great food and service.
This is a fabulous house for a gathering of friends or family. The bedrooms are nice and the reception rooms are superb. We had a wonderful long weekend. The agent was very helpful both before and during our stay. We had a technical issue with the house while we were there and the owner responded with a partial refund.
A superb venue for us to celebrate my wife’s 80th Birthday with family and friends. The five en-suite bedrooms were spacious and so comfortable and well equipped. Plenty of space in the kitchen and reception rooms meant that we were never too crowded. The location and surroundings were just fabulous, I’ve never seen a farm kept so spotlessly clean. It was so interesting for the children to see the cattle, sheep and lambs too. Having the Herd restaurant within a 100 yard walk was ideal for a delicious evening meal and to give us a break from cooking and with no worries about transport arra...more
We really enjoyed our stay at Hyde Tyning Cottage. It was very well appointed, very clean and very comfortable. The location was great - tucked away at the end of a lane with lovely countryside views. We would definitely stay there again.
Peaceful and comfortable cottage with friendly and helpful managers. Peaceful and comfortable cottage with friendly and helpful managers.
Probably the most amazing house you will ever stay in. Paul the caretaker was attentive and knowledgable but always in the background for your needs. The house was decorated beautifully for christmas,it looked like it was out of a magazine. We hired a private chef for 10 adults from Dineindulge, and the service and food was 1st class. All in all a perfect winter break.
A lovely cosy, warm and welcoming cottage - very well equipped throughout, with thoughtful touches, and very comfortable beds. All of which made our stay all the better, thank you.
A nice large property in a good location. The location does create a problem as there is no phone signal so you are reliant on the WiFi/internet. Unfortunately the internet failed throughout our visit so we felt cut off. The cost reflects the size of the property but the provision is a bit basic. Lovely comfy beds but no cupboards to store food in the kitchen. Cottage accommodates up to 10 but seating for 5-6 at most. Very clean and warm.
This warm, cozy unusual property was the perfect place to stay in a family break including 5 month old baby (took a thick soft playmat for his comfort on travertine floors). The aga kept the whole house warm for us and we loved visiting The Gather Cafe in Batheaston as well as the walk into Bath along the canal. So much recent rain had made tennis court mossy and looking unsuitable for play, but the beautiful woodland surroundings, primroses on the grassy banks and so many birds (including early morning tawny owls) made up for lack of tennis! Wonderful weekend
A beautiful cottage with lovely views, walks on your doorstep situated on a quiet no-through lane and within reach of all the main Cotswold attractions. Parking for 2 cars is a few steps down the lane which wasn’t a problem, nor was the secure garden directly across the lane. The cottage was very well equipped and had some basic supplies which were welcome. The fuel for the log burner was also much appreciated.
This is a beautiful cottage in an excellent location good for both town and country walks. TH house was very well appointed and we had a very thoughtful welcome pack which included mince pies. We had a slight issue with access to documents prior to the stay but this was sorted out almost immediately with the excellent customer service would highly recommend.
We had a lovely 5 day stay at Vine Cottage! Juliet was so helpful via text and popping in to meet us - couldn’t recommend her enough. The cottage was perfect. It had a lovely cozy atmosphere in the lounge, with the gas fire making it lovely in the evening. The bathroom was very well lit with a light up mirror and a beautiful rainfall shower. The kitchen was well equipped with all the equipment you could need to make breakfasts and evening meals. The bedroom was spacious and the king sized bed was very comfortable! We really enjoyed spending time here. During our visit to Charlbury, we ve...more
Excellent stay in a house that's very well equipped warm and spacious Not the best of locations and outlook but near pool and facilties Great vfm
The property was ideal for our purpose. Lovely quiet location. We stayed for 2 nights only but had a wonderful time. Well equipped and very clean. No pubs on the doorstep but that didn't matter as we arranged to eat and drink at the property on one night.
For a cold new year, Peach Cottage was a welcoming, comfy and warm place for us to spend the week. The cottage had everything we needed for when we ate in. Having Fire sticks on each TV meant we could also log into our streaming services. Whilst the mobile coverage in the village was poor, the wifi in the cottage was great. The only comment we would make was that the duvet in the main bedroom was for a double bed size smaller than the actual bed. Peach Cottage is in a lovely village that had lots of great walks nearby. It was a shame that the Village pub was closed for the week and if ...more
We had a wonderful stay at Church Cottage. It was very comfortable for our family of four and perfectly located for exploring all the Cotswolds highlights. The cottage was clean, well appointed, and exactly as described on the site. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. We’d happily recommend it to others.
This unique property was a perfect place to relax and get away from it all. Clean, warm and comfortable, surrounded by nature - what more could you want? We will be back
Beautiful part of the UK property well placed to enjoy the Cotswolds. Property in great condition. Clean and tidy
We had a pleasant stay at the Combine Shed overall, but we did feel the property is starting to look a little tired and could benefit from some updates. A few items seemed due for replacement, such as some of the pots and pans, and the sofas have noticeably lost their comfort. Also the carpet in front of the woodburner has suffered burn damage. The shower appears to be fitted the wrong way around, with hot and cold reversed. Unfortunately, this meant our first experience of the water that was either too hot or too cold before we realised, which was concerning. We also weren’t able to...more
We love the setting of the Sudeley cottages and the access to the castle. Very comfortable at Archers cottage and ideal for a family group. Winchcombe has good pubs and great Indian restaurant. Cottage well equipped- only suggestion we have is that for size of cottage and number of guests then a larger fridge would be useful. We will return next year!
We came here for a weekend get away as two families with young kids this November and absolutely loved our stay. The cottage was so cosy and comfortable, really well equipped and in a fantastic location. We really enjoyed the local village and walking from the front door. The kids loved the upstairs bedroom! We will definitely be back thank you.
We stayed here for a few days in December as we were visiting Christmas at Blenheim Palace. Perfect location and lots to do in the area. The house is lovely and spacious, the kitchen being the highlight and there is a Nespresso coffee machine! The garden is large and fully enclosed which was perfect for our Cocker Spaniel. However there were a few minor things to note, the bathroom while generally clean had not been deep cleaned for some time, cobwebs, dust and a bug infestation around the window frame. The upstairs en-suite bathroom again would have benefitted from a deep clean. There was no ...more
We stayed here for a few days. There were 6 of us. The cottage was exactly how it looks on the images. It did feel quite small as in parts, with 6 of us there. The cottage was nicely decorated with lovely quality items. The location was in the north of the Cotswolds. Great for walking. There are building sites both to the side of the cottage and across the road, no work was being complied when we were there. A little walk took you to the farm, which had some animal and a cafe. The restaurant there and the Turkish on down the road looked nice. The only problem we had was the downstairs toil...more
This lodge was fabulous. Spotless, loads of space and some nice touches. Would definitely stay again.
A lovely, well equipped cottage. Perfectly placed for Sudley Castle. There are pubs and cafés within walking distance, would recommend the White Hart for a delicious evening meal!
This cottage is amazing it’s in the heart of the slaughters and if you are a walker it’s the ultimate stop . So comfortable and lovely and clean inside and the welcome basket was a lovely touch !! Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here Lovely place lovely cottage and amazing walks!!
Everything lovely and convenient, quick response to requests for assistance! We'll be offering a few suggestions based on our experience, but the accommodation, the ambience, the view were all spectacular. Thank you!
Cotswold Way Cottage was ideal for the 3 of us and in a good location for where we wanted to be. Lots of walks close by up to Rodbourgh Common an down to the canal. Close enough to get into Stroud easily. The only down side was the parking, it was a busy time of year and what with the pub over the road having no parking it wasn’t always easy to find any off road parking during the evening.
Thanks for the great place with a great location. Will definitely visit again. The cottage is a superb place with all the amenities to make the stay easy.
We had a fantastic stay here. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and there was everything you could need.
Whilst it slept 4, we booked it as a couple. We chose this cottage as we wanted the cosey, experience but wanted a pub in walking distance. The home itself was really clean and super cosey. Heating was on for when we arrived which was nice. There was also milk and cake for our arrival which was a lovely touch. The bedding in the second floor bedroom was so lovely. We had a lovely time. We couldn't find a chopping board, unsure if that was just us not being able to find it or whether there was one or not.
We used Queen Cottage as a base to attend a wedding and WOW it helped to make a special occasion even more memorable. It accommodated 6 of us so distant family could join us and enjoy the event too. It is in a secluded court but fairly close to Winchcombe with its lovely food places. You enter a very large lounge/kitchen which is amazingly so well equipped with supplies for all of us. Two upstairs bedrooms with very comfortable beds and the bed/settee in the lounge gave everyone a good night's sleep. The car park is 25 yards away through a beautiful arched driveway. This is an ideal base for a visit to this beautiful part of the country. The cottage is very cosy, with everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay. Slight downside is that the wifi is a little temperamental - ok for day to day use, but didn't make it easy to watch Netflix etc! Small price to pay for such lovely accommodation. Winchcombe is a lovely town, with many independent stores and plenty of good restaurants/pubs/cafes to visit. It is a short stroll across the fields to reach Sudeley Castle (although if it is wet, a walk through Winchcombe to get to the castle is ...more
A lovely cosy stay with old friends. A great dining table to sit around and enjoy a meal or glass of wine or two, although don’t bring too much food as the fridge is quite small. The garden is beautifully kept and the cottage has clearly been refurbished in the last year or two. We had a small problem with the shower which was very promptly resolved by the owner and there was true concern shown that it didn’t impact our stay, which it didn’t. We’d highly recommend a meal at the Woolpack in Slad and a wonder into Stroud for a coffee and to see the market.
The cottage was so cosy, clean, luxury, couldn't fault it. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch, we will definitely be back!
Highly recommend a stay here. Very comfortable and great value for money given the size of the property. Having a pub next door was really handy! Loads of walking straight from the door. We parked our cars up and didn’t use them again until we left
Stayed in cottage at Christmas 2025. Great location with excellent pub and restaurant close by. Really well equipped and full of character. Recommend.
Big anniversary and loads of guests/family. The property was very adaptable and fulfilled all of our requirements. Lots of room for a fabulous event and the outdoor space overlooking the countryside was lovely in the September sunshine. The booking process from start to finish was seamless. Easy walk downhill to the local pubs, Not so easy walking back, naturally!
- Damp levels on another level. Toilet rolls buckle, dry towels become damp, jumbo wood lice roam the floors, mold on bathroom ceiling and blinds. No wonder the property is for sale. The moisture coming up from the basement room is insane and the constantly running dehumidifiers which you have to empty multiple times per day produce buckets of water. - One front door key and no inside dead bolts so if one person goes out any others are literally locked in and are unable open the door to get out. Seriously fire and safety issue. - Pre cleaning was terrible, hairs blocking bathroom sinks, ...more
We had a fabulous family weekend at lodge barn with family aged 6 - 92. Fabulous to have a large table to all sit round in the kitchen, ample equipment to cater for yourselves. Beds so comfortable and a lovely large lounge to all sit together, yet other rooms to escape to if wanted. Snooker table a big hit with all ages. Lovely enclosed garden and walks from the house in search of the wild boar you can hear. Highly recommend.
Kimkeri cannot be faulted for it's location which was literally a 3 min walk to the centre of Bourton on the Water. It also has 3 parking spaces which is amazing . The house itself is lovely and warm and has great interior design and furniture. 3 great sized double bedrooms with very comfortable beds . The shower on the 1st floor fabulous, The shower in the ensuite ( top floor) disappointing and tiny . Unfortunately a few areas let it down On entering Kimkeri, from the garden entrance as advised to do , you are met with a lovely large kitchen table, however the table is covered in thic...more
The most lovely property to stay at with family, open plan and very spacious. Right in the center of winchcombe and great walking distance to shops and pubs. One of the best holiday houses we have stayed at
We had a lovely stay at 14 Vineyard .Street. It is very well positioned for easy access to shops and walks .
Suncroft is an excellent, spacious, well equipped and comfortable property. My only criticism is parking. The two parking spaces on the property are only suitable for small cars and there is limited on street parking available given the nature of he village.
A lovely cottage, great location for local amenities and pub/restaurants. Generally very comfortable but Antelope Cottage does need some investment upgrades to fixtures and fittings.
A charming and beautifully secluded property perfect for unplugging from the rush and stress of daily life. The cottage was full of nooks and crannies to explore but big enough for the whole family to feel like everyone had their own space. The perfect place to enjoy the beautiful countryside but still close enough to beautiful villages and places of interest to explore
This is the second time we have stayed at the Cottages, and we love them! The location within the village and on the grounds of the Castle make it a memorable stay.
We got married at Sudeley Castle and this was our base for the bridal parties to stay. It was perfect and had loads of space for all 14 of us to get ready. The welcome pack of tea/coffee and biscuits was much appreciated.
Overall we enjoyed our Christmas stay at Angels Folly, we arrived to a very nicely decorated front room, as well as a pile of unexpected lovely Christmas food gifts which was both generous and a welcomed surprise. As there was no fore warning that this level of food items /crackers were going to be supplied, we went well stocked with our own food purchases, so it did mean we had duplicates which could of been avoided if better communication had been given with the booking which seemed a shame It was our first ever Christmas stay away from home so it was important to us that it hit the righ...more
Me and my guest had a festive weekend at Sixpenny Cottage. It was absolutely gorgeous; the house itself looked even better in person than the photos on the website. The kitchen was amazing, nice and big and equipped with every utensil you could possibly need. The house decor is a mixture of French antique farmhouse with the bright vibrant colours made if feel warm and cosy. This paired with the stunning fireplace with wood burner made the chilled evenings a pleasure to sit around with a glass of wine. The location and the views of the Cotswold's are simply stunning. Whilst our stay was fine, it was disappointing to find the cottage on a busy road and not in the heart of things. Parking is difficult. Someone swiped the front of our rental car and drove off also - not specific to the cottage but the location isn’t the best.
We had a very pleasant stay at Oosland Barns. Very comfortable accommodation. Clean and comfy. It was a relaxing atmosphere. Good facilities and we enjoyed the hot tub. Good location for exploring Stratford and the Cotswolds. Really enjoyed our weekend.
We stayed in the Barracks a second time now. We felt very happy and found ourselves in a wonderful house in a small village with nature and quiteness we loved. And if we liked we visited the villages around with Culture, high-level shops and Restaurants and Cafés. And of cause we love sheep and cows and owls&Co. We will come back.
cottage had all the amenities you would need would recommend for a short stay of approx 5 days john
Brock Cottage is a quirky, individual property in the middle of Foxholes Nature Reserve, perfect for a relaxing, calming stay. The bedrooms are all individually decorated, with comfortable beds and quality bedlinen. The huge kitchen/sitting/dining room is well equipped for catering for a crowd and the log burner ensures that the room is warm and cosy. Outside, the gardens are full of wildlife and the peace is only disturbed by birdsong. The owner was extremely helpful before and during our stay, thank you! Lovely property with great location and views and well equipped, but we were disappointed to have to endure cold showers. The property manager was quick to respond, polite and friendly when we contacted her and she promptly visited to attempt to sort things out. Whatever she did however failed to last til the next morning. She was again responsive offering to send a plumber but it was too late as we were leaving that day. Another few small things to mention that certainly didn’t ruin our holiday but we would suggest are easy to remedy: - the email we got with directions stated the t...more
We absolutely loved our stay in Lucknow Terrace. The interior was so beautiful, attention to detail everywhere. It was the perfect cosy, comfy home to return to after a cold walk in the countryside! We all slept so well and enjoyed the sociable living space. Thank you !!
This house is spacious, modern and equipped with comfortable furniture and very comfortable beds. It is in a great area for walking and things to do. The only downsides that we had were both downstairs bedrooms had an unpleasant smell of drains. The shower cubicle in the en-suite was not as clean as I would expect either.
We walked in to a warm and cosy, clean, beautifully presented cottage with everything provided that you might need for a short break. The Christmas tree was a lovely touch. Great location, quiet and just a short (slightly uphill) walk into Winchcombe. The only issue was parking. Although there is a large car park, it was full in the evenings. Perhaps marked bays would encourage more considerate parking?
The accommodation was perfectly clean with plenty of amenities. It was great to have things like washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, soaps, cling film, foil, as it saves buying or bringing them. The outlook was fabulous, looking across farmland and beyond. The hot tub was great and very clean. Having a log burner and a supply of logs made the evenings very cosy, especially after getting out of the hot tub in October! Location was great and you can walk into town, but you're far enough away for it to be tranquil. It would have been even better if the bed was a bit larger, like a king, ...more

After searching for 'the perfect cottage' for our visit to the Cotswolds, we decided on Swift Cottage for our early family Christmas gathering (3 adults) and it did not disappoint. Situated in the gorgeous village of Blockley, we were able to walk to the local Cafe, village store and two pubs. Lovely cottage a short walk to Sudeley Castle and Winchcombe high street. Had all of the essentials needed for a long weekend
Property is well kept, modern and the facilities are adequate - i.e. dishwasher, double fridge and freezer. Nice location and some activities nearby to keep the children entertained
This is the second time we have stayed at the Cottages, and we love them! The location within the village and on the grounds of the Castle make it a memorable stay.
Stayed with my husband and two teenage children for 4 nights over Christmas. Lovely cottage with everything we needed, and even the bonus of a Christmas tree. Lots of parking and great central location to Winchcombe. Only downside would be number of steps up to the property which made unloading and loading the car hard work and wouldn’t recommend to people with mobility issues for that reason.
Overall a pleasant stay at the Barn which was used as a base for a pre-Xmas get-together with extended family. The positives Barn was well stocked with crockery and glasswear with an extra fridge which came in handy. The Xmas tree was a lovely touch as we're the robes and flip-flops. Beds we're all comfortable. The negatives The starter pack was rather limited and there wasn't any milk supplied as suggested. We did have a heating/hot water issue as the boiler went a couple of times but we could easily reset it. There was limited hanging/shelf space in some of the bedrooms. Overall a...more
Pretty clean, were a few cobwebs around. Was quite cold even with the heating turned right up and it’s not clear upon booking that it’s just feet away from a main A road so quite a bit of road noise when in the bedroom and sitting room. Bed is excellent, large and comfortable. Garden is big but due to some damaged fencing wasn’t totally enclosed and we had our dog so that wasn’t ideal. Hot tub would’ve been nice but it’s wood fired so would’ve taken 2-3 hours to heat up and wasn’t heated before arrival and I didn’t want to spend all afternoon tending to a fire outside. They only put 3/4 logs i...more
Although we really enjoyed our stay at Iris Lodge, the place felt quite tired and could do with a refresh. In terms of cleanliness, the surfaces all felt very clean but the floors and bathroom could do with a deeper clean. The WiFi wasn't working, as we were only staying for 2 nights, it wasn't a major issue but did cause a small impact on our experience. One last thing: although the log burner was one of the main reasons for booking the lodge, we had to purchase our own firestarters and kindling, as none were provided. We genuinely really enjoy our stay but these are just a few things that...more
Lovely little Quirky Cottage a stones throw from the centre of Tetbury with its lovely restaurants, cafes and shops.
We had a fab few days in Fishermen’s cottage, enjoying the fabulous Lower Mill estate. Ron was a helpful and accommodating host. Have recommended many times since! Teenagers with us had a great break with loads to do. Thanks!
Absolutely stunning place ! The walk on the caste grounds is great, Winchcombe is a lovely village. Plenty of sightseeing at the Cotswolds. We will be revisiting this accommodation.
We had a wonderful stay (four adults and two young children). The cottage is beautiful and in a quiet location close to Burford. We had everything we needed and enjoyed spending our time inside just relaxing in the cottage just as much as being out and about in the Cotswolds. The host really made the stay special with some welcome treats and there were lots of little extras if needed. We will be back! Highly recommend.
This cottage is lovely and so traditional. Plenty of room for our family of 6 adults and 2 children. Fabulous views and great pub right round the corner. Close driving distance to lots of lovely villages. Kay was so nice and friendly and very kindly allowed us to check in early.
Great location, new carpets and very hot (broken thermostatic valve on radiator). Expensive for a 3 night stay.
This is the second time we have stayed at the Cottages, and we love them! The location within the village and on the grounds of the Castle make it a memorable stay.
We stayed in this cottage for the entire month of December. It is centrally located in the Cotswolds, which makes it a great base for day trips. The cottage was clean and well equipped. We had a great day and would return if our travel takes us back to the area.
What a comfortable place to stay. The floor plan is well laid out and the furniture and furnishings are great for relaxing. This might not be the best place to stay if you want to be in a town or village but the surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful and the house was very relaxing and comfortable.
Good instructions, nice house, pretty well equipped on the whole, but not for much more than a couple of days I think. Lovely heating underfloor, comfortable beds and no issues in communicating by email. We had no issues during the stay and the location is brilliant. Great space for entertaining/eating/drinking together. We were a family of 7 for a birthday and was a really great space for us all. No worries about room, 3 bathrooms and helpfully a downstairs en-suite with shower for the older folks. 10min walk into Bourton, far enough from the heavy tourist areas and some good pubs in reac...more
We really enjoyed our stay at the lovely Hope Cottage. Highly recommend. Nuneaton is a sweet, tiny village close to lots of local spots to see.
Unfortunately we were disappointed with this property. It is significantly smaller than the photos show it to be. Whilst there are 6 beds, the downstarirs is not big enough to accomodate 6 people. We were a party of 5 adults and two dogs which was uncomfortably cramped. The kitchen could only accomodate 2 people at a time and only having one two person sofa & an armchair meant that two people either had to sit on a dining chair or on the floor. The lighting in the lounge was completely inadequate with there only being two table lamps, one with a very dim bulb and the other didn't work at all. ...more
The Cottage was hard to locate in the dark, signposts and better lighting is needed. The Cottage was tired and in need of the paintwork repainting & the carpets need cleaning. The doormats need replacing. Both toilet seats were loose. There was a such an unpleasant smell in the second bedroom so we couldn’t use it. The bedding and towels had been washed in strong smelling washing powder it was quite over bearing. The bedding and towels would be better in plain white so you can tell they are clean. The cottage however is in a great location in Stow. It just needs some tlc.
It was easy to arrive with the guidance provided by email. The cottage was very comfortable, the only downside was that the corridor was very cold and the dining room/kitchen were difficult to warm up (cold coming on from the window frames and fireplace) but other than that it was great, the kitchen was fully equipes and we had plenty of toilet paper available (always handy if you arrive late). There was a working fireplace in the living room, and cards and board games for the family. We had a great time!
Lovely 2 day stay in Winchcombe. Cottage was situated very close to the centre. Accomodation great for 4 people. Well equipped and tastefully dressed. Just a couple of suggestions- windows in bedrooms need a better clean, sofa needs some attention. Other than these observations, would definitely book again.
Four generations of our family had a wonderful New Year at Butts Farm. The house was extremely warm and comfortable, even with minus temperatures outside. The location was lovely for exploring the Cotswolds and the owner was very welcoming. There was plenty of space for all of us to relax. All in all, a perfect place to celebrate!
Beautiful cottage in centre of Tetbury. Wonderful New year's vacation location. An expresso maker would be a welcome addition. Steep grade just outside the door so would not be good for anyone with mobility issues.
Our second visit to Hill View Rise and we enjoyed it just as much this second time. The house is well situated for walking the area and makes a very comfortable base.
Very good starting point to the Cotswolds. You can also do beautiful walkings from the doorstep. Blockley is a beautiful village.
In all honestly wasn’t that happy. Huge cobwebs found down the side of the sofa which tells me it’s not cleaned throughly. It’s certainly not best suited for families with small children. Staircases extremely steep and dangerous with no baby gates. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. Location wise, situated in a beautiful village, perfect location for pure peace and quiet but I wouldn’t stay here again.
The location was great and the grounds extensive; perfect for our 3 children who spent a lot of time outdoors. The home itself was adequate from a comfort and condition point of view but was lacking in cleanliness. Overall our stay in this property was ok.
Fairly spacious accommodation, in a nice rural setting let down by a few things. The downstairs (bedrooms and bathrooms) really smell (drains), especially at the back. We decided to use the 3rd bedroom as a luggage room as the smell was so bad there, and the kids shared the bunk room. Both my kids complained of uncomfortable mattresses, something which they have never done anywhere else. Both had springs and wires sticking out. Property had been superficially cleaned but we soon noticed cob webs everywhere, sticky chairs and grimy sofas. Although the barn is set withing nice grounds with far r...more
Where to begin? Long drive to property full of deep pot holes - not ideal in a sports car and very scary in the dark. Beautiful barn conversion in an amazing location. That's the positive. Negatives as follows: Took 20 minutes to unlock the front after considerable efforts - No mention of this issue anywhere. Could not lock on our departure. Freezing upon arrival. Heated by by underfloor heating which took 6 hours to warm up. Knowing our arrival time it would have been nice if the house was heated prior to our arrival. Were advised that first log fire would be prepared - Sadly it was not - J...more
We had a fab weekend in Murray’s Cottage ! The cottage was immaculate and had everything you need. Beds were comfy and we had a great stay ! My only negative was the late check in time and the early check out time.
We stayed at Gable Cottage for our first ever Christmas away. I contacted house keeping and Bolthole Retreats prior to our visit and was assured the property would be decorated for Christmas, and though family and friends said their properties were decked out for Christmas when they've gone away before (not to Gable Cottage) we still decided to take some things from home, including a slim line Christmas tree and we are so glad we did! The small Christmas tree by the front door I wouldn't really class as 'decorating the property' and would have been extremely disappointed if we hadn't taken t...more
We had a gorgeous time at Canons Court Lodge. The house was absolutely beautiful and had lots of space to spread out to. We loved the table football and games selection and the cosiness. We loved playing board games on the big dining table and cooking food in the lovely kitchen.
Lovely weekend stay at Mouse Manor. Really pretty building - stayed with my partner, two teenagers and dog for a weekend break in the cotswolds. Would recommend and definately good value for money. Particularly liked the Aga which makes it feel so warm and cosy at this time of year (October!).
We spent three nights at Oldbury Barn - was a beautiful property. Well located for local attractions and activities, the property was beautifully decorated and spotless. We were a family group of ten - two families with young teenage children and an elderly couple. The property had 4 large bedrooms, huge bathrooms (2 en suite) and plenty of communal living space. The outside space had stunning views and was very well maintained, with plenty of wood provided for the fire pit. It was extremely clean throughout and the customer service was excellent. I would highly recommend this property ...more
Having read several concerning reviews regarding cleanliness and the heating I contacted Bolthole retreats prior to our stay to voice our concerns. I was reassured on 2 occasions that the problems had been dealt with and that I did not need to worry. We arrived at the property to find that the heating was not on ( it was 12 degrees), the radiators did not heat properly as they needed bleeding and there were no logs for the fire as promised. The kitchen was poorly equipped with only 8 mugs 3 wine glasses and 6 flutes. The crockery and cutlery were dirty and the kitchen cupboards in need of a ...more
Had a fab weekend at this property celebrating a 75th birthday. The grand children loved the hot tub and playing hide n seek in the extensive garden .
Needs love: Playground is in disrepair, hot tub was dirty on arrival, no side access but fab house for a group if improved.
