Peartree Cottage is a much-loved traditional stone cottage, offering all the creature comforts you could need along with a bucolic view that is a photographer's dream. The patchwork of fields rolls gently into the valley below before sweeping upwards again, creating a magical panorama that never ceases to amaze. Set within the beautiful Euridge Manor Estate, Peartree Cottage is dog-friendly and is a warm and welcoming rural escape for up to six guests. The large lawned area to the front of the cottage is shared with neighbouring Bluebell and is the perfect spot for wildlife watching or relaxing with a drink as the stars appear overhead.

Comfortable well-furnished cottage with a beautiful view outside our windows where we enjoyed our stay. There were some nice hikes around the property and we took one of them. There was a cute pub close by.
The road to the property was long and narrow. Recommend stocking up on a few basic groceries before you get there because the cottage does not have any.
Our access code for the door did not work when we got there on a cold, dark, rainy evening. A few communications later we got the correct code.

Great cottage, shame about the agency

We spent 4 nights over Christmas at Peartree Cottage, which is in a spectacular spot at the head of a valley near Colerne. There are two other cottages in the building but we had a peaceful break, enjoying the views and the cosy fire. We heard owls at night, which was lovely.

A festive tree was provided, and the kitchen is well-equipped for cooking. Lovely modern bathroom and bath products, fluffy robes and towels. The support staff at Euridge were very helpful (Alice and daughter) and dropped round with a bottle of wine, and brought more wood.

The downside was the agency, Bolthole Retreats who were hard to contact when we tried to cancel due to a tragic death of a close family friend. They handled it badly and were not willing to even try to resell the dates or check with the owners, Euridge, to see if this was possible. The response was that their ‘system’ didn’t allow any flexibility. Emails were received with no name attached, and it was hard to get anyone on the phone. Basically, ‘the computer says “No”’ approach, despite four previous bookings from us. An impersonal service.

Sadly we won’t be renting again through this agency and Euridge doesn’t take direct bookings so we won’t be able to return.
