Nestled alongside the forest near Lydney in the Forest of Dean, this secluded shepherd’s hut provides a romantic retreat in a dream setting. The rustic wooden exterior hides the characterful accommodation that Bertha offers. With wooden beams above, custom-made cabinets and seating and a wood burner, this hut is perfect for couples and one four-legged friend, to cherish time together in the great outdoors, away from the constant buzz of technology. There is a raised king-size bed, a fold-up dining area, a kitchenette, and a unique shower room. Surrounded by wilderness you can easily explore the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and the numerous activities that are on offer.

We stayed at Bertha Shepherd’s Hut for the weekend, and everything about it was amazing. The actual hut was even better than the pictures (which already looked super cute and cosy). There was everything you needed to cook, even bakeware. The bathroom was so nicely built and modern. Even just the torchlight they had was appreciated as we did explore the forest when it was dark. The view and the greenery from the hut was really pretty, and there was a lake at the bottom of the hill when you walk into the forest. I loved it and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a nice stay away in a peaceful, green and fresh environment! Totally worth the money.

Brilliant little retreat nice and quiet, well located, cosy couldn’t ask for more. Would visit again, an I would recommend this.

A large, beautiful and well furnished shepherd's hut that provided the perfect getaway for my wife and I between Christmas and New Years. Gorgeous scenery and a delightful, cozy interior meant that even in the rough weather it was a pleasure to stay in. The owners went out of their way to make our experience a comfortable one.

My partner and I stayed here for the weekend and couldn’t fault our stay. We’ve stayed in many shepherds hut before and this was by far the biggest and best one we’ve stayed in! The location was also beautiful and in good walking distance to the local village. A wonderful weekend!

What a spot. The wagon is on top of a hill next to the woods which not only gives you a gorgeous view of the property but allows for numerous animals sightings whilst enjoying the comfort of the accommodation.

Bertha is a beautifully presented shepherds hut and is the perfect place for a rural escape. The location is unbelievable peaceful and the sunrise and sunsets are the perfect start and end to the day! The comfort and stand of the hut was first class with the welcome biscuits, tea, coffee, milk, etc the perfect finishing touch! The local pubs are also lovely for a drink and bite to eat I would definitely recommend The Globe! We will be visiting again!!

The shepherds hut is in a beautiful location tucked away on the edge of the woods. It was spacious and very clean, like it was brand new. The bathroom is lovely and bed very comfy. The firepit outside is a nice touch and there's great walks in a nearby woods in walking distance, also not a long drive to the Forest of Dean. A lovely few days retreat, would recommend to everyone and will definitely be back!
