Set in 22 acres in South East Cornwall, Kernock Cottages has five luxury 5* Gold cottages sleeping 2, 4, 6 and 8. Peaceful and tranquil, but only 6 miles from Plymouth, 9 miles from the beach and 15 miles from both Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor. Dogs and children very welcome.
We stayed in the Roost at Kernock Cottages for my mum’s 70th birthday. The facilities were excellent - giving everyone the space they needed to spend quality time together or apart. The bedrooms were large and comfortable, and having an en suite each made a real difference. The secluded location meant that our private gardens had stunning views over the valley, and we felt safe letting the dog and my toddler run around. The outside space gave multiple options for relaxing and enjoying a drink or a chat.
What really made the stay exceptional, though, were the hosts. Damian made us feel insta...more
This was our second visit to Kernock cottages and our memories were rekindled in spades! These cottages are truly dog friendly with secure gardens and 6 acres of fenced fields and woodlands for inquisitive dogs like ours to explore. Damian and Louise are fantastic hosts with many helpful tips and recommendations for walks, beaches, pubs etc. They are always on hand to answer a query but never intrusive. The cottages ( we’ve stayed in 2 different ones) are cosy, clean and well equipped with welcome gifts for your canine companions and a well stocked welcome pack for you.The views from the hot t...more
Most welcoming, lovely & dog friendly accomodation we have ever stayed in - and we have stayed in a few. Damian & Louise are the perfect hosts - so welcoming from the moment you arrive. Nothing is too much trouble but they are not intrusive either. All the perfect little touches are so lovely too - from the amazing welcome packs for us and then our two dogs aswell - both far exceeded expectation. To then providing chuck sticks & balls strategically at various parts of the lovely walks at Central Bark. We loved being at the cottage relaxing as much as we did venturing out further afield. We had a wonderful three night stay at the Coach house. The facilities, including secure dog walking field, hot tub (used every night!) and the accomodation itself were all top notch. Damian is a very attentive, affable and informative host and provides details on a plethora of walks and other things to do locally.
The welcome pack was great too and much appreciated by humans and canines alike.
In a nutshell, they love dogs, there is a hot tub and you and your doggy friend will love staying here! We will certainly be back!
The barn had everything we could wish for, the welcome packs for us & the pooches were amazing. We had a very relaxing break, the hot tub was fantastic! Two of us took advantage of the free use of the local spa & leisure facilities, we also pre booked treatments there which were great.
Our four dogs loved the large secure paddocks where they could run freely. The only thing we would have liked is a larger secure garden around the property for the dogs to come & go without supervision as they kept chasing the squirrels.
We would definitely stay again
