We stayed at little owl for a week with our dog. From finding this gem on Facebook, making contact with the owner, booking, special requests, greeting on arrival, the accommodation and check out the whole process was absolutely seamless and stress free which was the theme throughout. The estate is well maintained, ideal for dogs on or off lead (ours did not put her collar or lead on the whole time). The views are incredible and the peace and quiet is something else. The wonderful accomodation and outstanding location for Kernock Cottages allowed us to add to memorable family gatherings. Everyone across the various age ranges were comfortable and appreciated all the care and attention from Louise and Damien. The local knowledge ensured we enjoyed the area and the fantastically equipped kitchens meant that catering for our large group was a joy. We are already recommending the experience to many friends and are looking forward to returning ourselves.
It was a last minute booking as my husband and I (plus our two Labradors) decided we needed a break after a very busy family summer. Kernock was perfect for all four of us! The cottage was welcoming, warm (the heating already on against the chillier September evenings) and extremely comfortable. Lovely beds and bedding and beautiful bath and shower rooms. It had everything we needed to settle in quickly to make the most of our week away in a stunning location. And the dogs were delighted with their welcome pack too! Unfornuatley made an error booking this as mezzanine floor. Sofa felt like on its way out and the oven broke whilst there, however contacted owners and they cooked that nights food for us and bought a super duper Ninja combination oven. Takeaways are great in the area but food offering otherwise is a bit mass tourist. Dog park is great so was the amount of equipment in cottage and the hottub. Information provided was great. We recently had a wonderful week in Owl barn. From booking to departure day we had a great experience. Damian and Louise were so helpful with any queries and questions we had along the way. They went far over and above in helping during a lost car key incident. We are so grateful to them. The barn was perfect for what we needed. The kids and dogs were entertained which made the stay so easy. The enclosed dog area was so useful for early morning and evening walks. The views were stunning and the place very tranquil. What a wonderful set up - every little detail thought about by friendly hosts - locally sourced welcome pack with eco friendly household supplies, excellent communication on local area, gifts for our dogs. The cottage was spotlessly clean throughout - we’ve never seen such a clean oven and every piece of equipment you’d wish for - even a private well maintained hot tub. Grounds were lovely with excellent enclosure for dogs and even a separate one for nervous dogs. What’s more a pub within walking distance. We really couldn’t ask for anything more from a stay.
