Five bedrooms all with ensuite facilties. Magnificent oak sun room with views to the coast, pizza oven, BBQ. Perfect for families and celebrations.

We had a large family gathering to attend a wedding in the area. The house easily accommodates the 16 and with two very large lounges and a massive kitchen, you never feel cramped or fail to find a quite space if you need it.

Will definitely use again, seamless booking, checkin and out, great experience and highly recommend.

This was our fifth family holiday at Barnacre Cottages but our first time of staying in the Oakhouse property. We were not disappointed! As with all of our previous stays the property was meticulously clean, the bedding and towels provided were like new, all of the furniture and equipment in every room was of a very high standard, and we were treated like royalty by the business owners who could not possibly work any harder or provide a better service. The properties belonging to Barnacre Cottages are in a fantastic location for providing family days out without having to spend half the day travelling to get to them. In addition, without having to travel anywhere, there is a tennis court on site, big open fields to enjoy, a play area for children, and beautifully, well equipped gardens attached to each property (with BBQs pizza ovens etc). We love the fact that the properties cater for every generation of our family’s needs (from those in their eighties to those who have not long been here on this earth!). An incredible amount of thought, effort, and investment has gone into designing, maintaining, and equipping each property so that those who use them, no matter what age, can enjoy a really fabulous holiday and have everything to hand that they need. On this occasion there were 14 of us staying at the property (Oakhouse) and we felt like millionaires waking up every day (after the best night’s sleep we’ve ever had in the most gloriously comfy beds) and knowing that we had the day ahead of us to be together and to enjoy this massive, larger than life property. The icing on the cake is that Barnacre Cottages’ prices are highly competitive and very affordable considering the spec of the accommodation and all that is provided - fantastic value for money. We look forward to returning in the not too distant future and wish every success to the business owners. Hats off to them - they deserve to be successful!

We were 3 generations of extended family from 4 countries staying in 3 of the houses. The indoor and outdoor space, including the tennis court, is excellent, the kitchen very well equipped, the beds comfortable and the bathrooms/showers really good. A couple of points to mention, the Aga is on all the time and the kitchen was uncomfortably hot, despite it not being a very warm week. The upstairs rooms are also very warm and because of the low windows, it is difficult to open them if you have small children. Other than that we had a great week and even enjoyed a few evenings sitting round the firepit. There is a lot to do in the area, provided you have a car, and some lovely local walks.
