We stayed in the Curved Stone House for one week around New Year and had a fantastic time there: Sitting comfortably in front of the fire place, we enjoyed watching the ferry coming in from Stornoway as much as we were excited to observe how the snow transformed the surrounding hills into winter wonderland. While we initially intended to hike a lot (right behind the house there's a footpath leading up to Ullapool Hill!), we eventually ended up spending a lot of time "at home": reading in the beautifully designed living room, cooking in the perfectly equipped kitchen, relaxing in the spotlessly...more
We had another great stay at the Stonehouses. This is our second year running staying. We loved it. House is so well equiped, cosy and homely. Rachel and Gavin are brillant hosts who make the booking process very easy and are on hand to help during the stay. We were made to feel very welcome. We will be returning in 2026.
