OH, my! What a wonderful and relaxing stay we had at Castle Demense House in Clifden! Everything fit well for us, especially en suite bathrooms for every bedroom. The picture shown does not do the cottage justice, if seen from the walking trail to the castle, one would think the house had been there many, many years. In fact, it is quite new. We found many walking trails with astounding views. The town of Clifden, itself was a pleasure. All of our extended family enjoying this trip would highly recommend the cottage, the area (I forgot to mention, it was lambing season---we watched those lit...more
This was an ideal place to stay - right in the middle of Letterfrack village, close to Connemara National Park, restaurants and pubs - would recommend.
Spacious comfortable house in a nice location. Well equipped with big garden for the kids to play inext. Unlike a lot of rentals the bedrooms and beds were big and comfortable. A drawback for us was that the house is not pet friendly but given the quality of the house it is understandable.
Superb holydays with m'y family in this house. Very confortable ans clean. Thé welcome was very warm.
we enjoyed our stay very much, set in a beautiful setting gardens view and house, my husband did fishing from the bottom of the garden and was able to catch dogfish mackerel and pollock, Suitable for small children fully enclosed garden, Breege the caretaker is very helpful and next door to the house the lady owns horses and ponies and gave our four small children a ride on them as it was there birthday when we were there, Will defiantly will return,
i was happy i think my feedback says enough jkaö.kjföa.kjföakjföqjkawäfojqaöfkjaäöflk,klfmaöl-kjfköla
Lovely large house with loads of character, beautiful outlook and good location to explore Galway/Connemara. The house stands in its own grounds providing privacy and is not far from a small shop and petrol station. A car is of course a requirement. Bedrooms are large and comfortable and the kitchen well equipped for preparing and serving family meals. We would thoroughly recommend.
Gorgeous house with a super view. Veronica and PJ were wonderful hosts. All you would need for a short or long stay in their house. Well worth a trip out west for this gem.
We had a great time in Connemara and the apartment was just perfect for us: 2 adults and a 2 year old. The playground around the corner with the animals were visited every day. Only the weather was too rainy and cool.
A perfectly located and beautifully converted house with garden and stunning sea and sunset views, this is private and peaceful and a short lovely walk away from Cleggan village and harbour, where there is a great pub (Oliver's), freshly caught fish is available, and the ferry to Inishbofin goes back and forth. Several good beaches nearby on the Cleggan-Claddaghduff loop (Rossadilisk, Sheddy's, Omey) and Clifden and Connemara's most spectacular scenery is just along the road. Didn't want to leave and definitely hope to return.
Great cottage, clean and comfortable. Lovely views. Village shop and post office 5 mins drive away. Town of Clifden with supermarkets and lots of pubs and restaurants 10 mins drive away. Lots of lovely walks. Close to amenities. Very quiet sandy beach only 10 mins walk from cottage. Owners live next door but are very welcoming and friendly.
Everything provided for a self catering holiday, just what we were looking for. Beaches and walking in the area were excellent, visiting Sweeneys Pub in the village a most.

Lovely apartment. Well kitted out. Very comfortable. Clean and modern. However could not get non irish channels to work. Wife just came up that I owed it money even though I hadn't used it and directions from main street to apartment very vague. However the accommodation was very good and would recommend.
Ein wunderbares Haus in einer tollen Lage. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war perfekt. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
Modern comfortable cottage in a superb location. Exceeded our expectations by far. Not weather dependent _ it would be entertaining in winter time to watch the storms role in across the Atlantic. Also fascinated by the wonderfully clear starry skies at night. Altogether a great place to stay.
We had a very nice couple of days at cottage 286, good spacious layout, nice and clean. Well fitted out, the web pictures don't do the decor justice. Near the end of a quite lane and within walking distance of the sea. We will definitely be back !! The outside area is not completed yet, while was fine for us but would not be suitable for small children as there is no secure garden for them to run.
We love everything about Cottage 273 - it's location, it's comfort, the thought of the owners in fitting it out, even down to the shopping trolly tags on the key ring. The new windows make the cottage so cosy while making the views even more spectacular. We can't wait for our next visit.
A beautiful location: a lovely old style cottage with all necessities provided. Would certainly want to go back. The only ñegative during the week of our stay was two days raining.
Great house with helpful and friendly owner situated in a beautiful landscape. Fresh bread for breakfast in walking distance. Check diamant hill, sky road, the beaches, the south of the Renvyle peninsula and the pubs of course.
Great cottage. Clean, modern, has great character. Great help from the caretaker. She was friendly and made us feel welcomed. A good location to tour Connemara. Next time I'd stay a week!
Good apartments, surrounding views are poor as town location. Great parking, apartments have been well taken care of. The only suggestion would be to replace grouting around bath. The area is absolutely beautiful.
This cottage lies in the heartland of Connemara and a real place of refuge for anyone who wants to walk the lands, be in the midst of dramatic scenery and curl up to the warmth of a fire. With this be aware that sometimes when the storms arrive the sheep will come down from the hills and seek shelter outside the door of the cottage. This for me offered such beauty in where this cottage lies. A wonderful welcoming from the host who cares greatly for your comfort even when waters or fires need sorting. I will return in the springs to this cottage as it is a beautiful refuge in the heartland of e...more
Enjoyed our stay at Hill House. Would like to mention that the windows at the window seat on the first floor are very old and do not close - could be an issue for young children. Thanks Julie
The home and location was great.Regarding directions the picture shown is from the front, but you only see rear from road.Regarding cost for oil and gas far to high would cover my home for a month. It would be helpful if extra toilet roll was available..
Having stayed in this cottage and elsewhere on Insihnee, we knew what to expect. And we loved it like the other times. The previous owner, a fisherman, sits in a photograph on the high wooden mantlepiece, and on the walls hang old items of the fisherman's tackle as well as an ancient turf cutting tool. All around, through the windows, you see the heather, the sea, and the mountains, the Connemara of Paul Henry landscapes, such that sometimes you have to catch yourself as your mind makes the shift from illusion to reality and back. It's like living in one of those paintings. Small quibble is...more
Lovely cottage in a wonderful location. Sofa's could be more comfortable though!! The kitchen was very well supplied and 2 bathrooms are ideal for larger groups of people.
My one fault with the house was the big hedge in front of house you couldn't see the view kids couldn't play in garden unless you were out with them because of hedge so for that reason I wouldn't go back to house...
The cottage is up a long drive in a grassy area surrounded by woods. The view from the cottages is of mountains. The Little Killary is a few hundred yards away. We mostly sailed a dinghy: there is a difficult slipway on the Little Killary, and a good one at Rosroe on the Killary only a mile away. The small shop a mile away has all the basics, including turf for the fire. No wifi, nor mobile signal, which for us was an advantage.
The location was perfect, beach, mountains, town, various villages all in easy reach. Very comfortable though the interior has a somewhat neglected feel about it. Not wonderfully organized for a guest residence. But nothing so far as to say inconvenient, just scattered. The structure itself is great I just think a little more care could be put into setting the place up as a rental.
Lovely cute house in a gorgeous location. When I clarified if there was a tv I was informed that "people who rent this property are outdoors people". We are very much outdoors people but have 2 children & are quite experienced in Connemara weather so we're covering ourselves for all eventualities. Being classed as an outdoors house we were very surprised at the lack of a dryer. With no radiators or natural drying in such an old house a dryer is very important for beach towels as we would swim at least twice a day. The fact that the little house/storage shed had electricity would make it ve...more
We stayed with a party of four for a long weekend. The holiday home had everything we needed - 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, all clean and tidy. Pubs in Letterfrack, a big grocery shop and even the hardware store as well as the Connemara National Park are only a short walk away. Lots of very good barfood restaurants and takeaways nearby. The appartments are used as student accommodation for the rest of the year, so everything is professionally looked after. Connemara Coastal Cottages staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating, both during the booking process and at arrival. We would come ...more
Good for what I wanted could do with more comfortable seating otherwise good and comfortable when weather is bad qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqaqqqqqqqqq
Had we none we were going to live next to a building site we definitely would not have chosen our holiday to be there. One day 10 or more massive lorries came bringing sole. They started at 7.30 and the speed of them was frightening! Infact one actually had to stop when my elderly father fell off the side of the road down a large drain! At no point were we told building was going on next door!
This cottage is in a stunning location and we loved admiring the views and wildlife and this alone makes it worth staying. The accommodation is well equipped and there are nice touches like providing binoculars. Although sleeps 8, the living accommodation is a little small and there is not enough room to seat 8 at table. The twin bedrooms are up a small but very steep staircase which would be unsuitable for anyone with mobility problems and the bathroom is quite a distance from these bedrooms. We really enjoyed our stay here and it is a true taste of Connemara.
good cottage for two persons. the situation is wonderfull : amaising view very clean. Just an objection : the bath If we come back to Connemara we will certainly return in the same cottage.
Clean and confortable appartment in Connemara but a bit noisy as it is situated in the Letterfrack main road/street and close to the pubs. More than 4 cutleries would be appreciated.
