I arranged this for my family from Wales, they were so impressed having stayed there 5 years ago but were very happy once again as it has now been updated and was amazing.
We really enjoyed our stay in Bembridge at Harbour View. Plenty of rooms and space, extremely well stocked kitchen with plenty of everything. Very comfortable beds and very clean. Two ample bathrooms. Ray nearby was so helpful and knows the area well. Great value for money and in such a perfect position.
This house was ideal for our family of 14. Every bedroom had an en suite which was ideal with young children. The house has been beautifully decorated and maintained and the gardens were lovely and child friendly. The large professional kitchen was easy to use and had everything we could have needed. The dining room comfortably seated us all. We could not fault anything at all and were all sad to get to the end of our stay here.
It was great to return to the Isle of Wight and Shanklin is always lovely. We stayed in “Ventnor” which is the beautifully presented two- bedroom top- floor apartment in what looks like a recently refurbished block. Everything was spotlessly clean, there was plenty of space for storing our stuff out of the way and the view over Culver Cliff was to die for, especially the sunrise at midsummer! Island Holiday Homes came up trumps again!
The apartment is lovely, well appointed and comfortable. The weather was really chilly when we arrived but the heating was easy to change and we were soon very cosy. The beds were lovely with gorgeous bedding so we slept really well. The sitting room provided comfortable seating and a terrific TV, when we got home and wanted to relax. Plenty of equipment if you wanted to cook, although we did not, other than breakfast. Although there is no view from the apartment itself, it is literally yards round the main house to the sea front. Walking in either direction along flat paths (or on the beach...more
We always stay in Bembridge, Have stayed in Hotel also. Very much loved it in both properties. Welcomed by lovely staff always
We had a lovely time at the lodge. It was very clean and comfortable. The garden had artificial grass which was good for keeping doggy paws clean but also access to the owners field. We enjoyed seeing all the animals sheep, dogs, horses and alpacas. There was a footpath from the cottage to The Pointer Inn which we visited a couple of times. We travelled all over the island going to pubs, castles and beaches and it was a good base. Owners were very friendly welcoming us but leaving us to ourselves unless we wanted help.
Booked 6 nights for the IOW festival in the Duver appt overlooking the sea, fantastic location, appt was like new would reccommend.
This was a return visit for us, having stayed here the previous year. The location was ideal for us, only a few minutes walk into Shanklin town, and a 5 minute drive to the esplanade. A good base for visiting all the other attractions on the island too. The only minor disappointment, which has nothing to do with the accomodation, is that due to coastal erosion, the footpath steps down to the beach are closed due to landslip. I cannot see this being repaired any time soon, if at all.. Apart from this, the accomodation is very spacious for our part of 4 adults. We only used the kitchen facili...more
Ideal position in St Helens village right by corner shop. Very comfy cottage with everything needed.
Can I say more, it was our 3rd visit to the Stables, just as good as the first time. Friendly but unobtrusive owner who lives next door. Crabbing for the kids/grandkids on the doorstep.
This cottage surpassed all our expectations. It was beautifully laid out, furniture and amenities within the cottage were plentiful and cosy. The kitchen area is so well equipped, there is nothing you are short of to use. Everywhere is clean and tidy. We were blessed with beautiful weather so spent a few hours out on the terrace on a late afternoon after a good walk with a beautiful calm sea view. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean and shiny, lovely decor again. Ventnor was pretty quiet during our visit but we enjoyed that after being out all day. It was a good base and we enjoye...more
We were amazed at how big this property was. We had a lovely weeks stay in this very clean and well-equipped flat.
Not enough details of which property we were staying at were given, BUT once located we found the property to be well situated. The property was beautifully decorated, extremly comfortable and very impressive. We particually loved the bathroom.
We were on the island for the festival and so weren’t there for sightseeing or the beach. But a great location on a lovely beach. It is a good sized apartment and very comfortable for us.
The Beach House in Ventnor ticks every box. Location, amenities and quality are excellent. This is the best holiday home we’ve ever stayed in and very reasonably priced considering the exceptional comfort the house has to offer. Ventnor is a lovely place to stay, having been twice before for short-breaks as a couple. This was our first week long holiday as a group of 6 and we all agreed we would go back to Ventnor and stay at The Beach House again. Island Holiday Homes were excellent too with regular communications and important updates before our stay and helping to resolve a maintenanc...more
The fact that we have stayed at Suncliff 5 times shows how much we enjoy staying here. The house is very well situated and the we never tire of the sea views! Great location in Ventnor. We hope to stay again!
Lovely bungalow very comfortable and homely. Hosts couldn't have been more helpful went that extra mile to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. Really nice welcome pack left for us to use. All IOW produce. Would definitely recommend.
Well equipped comfortable house with useful outside space and private parking. Chocolate cake in the welcome pack was very erm....welcome!
Been staying here for past 6 years owner is never far away should you have any issues. Apartment lovely will be back again next year.
Everyone wants you to write a review these days. I'm usually happy to do so because I know honest feedback can be helpful for both supplier and customer but, please, just one request per supply! Please see my first review for a more complete opinion of this stay. Suffice it to say, No. 5 Highlands is excellent. Highly recommended.
This is the third time we stopped at the highlands third different apartment all really lush would highly recommend.
Our second stay at Solent View was just as enjoyable as the first. A very comfortable bungalow to stay in with a homely feel.
We stayed for 65 nights as we needed a short term let. The flat had everything you needed and was modern , clean and in a lovely location.
This was our third stay at The Moorings ! It’s in a beautiful location right next to St Helens Duver and the beach. The house is so comfortable, clean and homely. Always feel so relaxed after our stay and look forward to our next visit.
Multi - returners. This is a gorgeous cottage. Highlight of our year. And badgers visiting the patio every evening - wonderful.
We were first time visitors to the Isle of Wight and came across the apartment on Cottages.com. It had the most amazing view over Sandown Bay. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for our weeks stay. It was also in a good location for Shanklin. We would definitely go back there.
This property was an ideal base for the week on our holiday, it is very spacious with good views of rolling countryside from the back garden. The kitchen was well equipped, it also has two showers and toilets so is ideal for families. The use of the garage is a big bonus and one of the criteria we require when booking a holiday property as we need somewhere for secure bicycle storage. We only have one minor criticism and that is the lack of table lamps in the lounge area, we ended up using a lamp from one of the bedrooms as the ceiling light was very bright in the evening. A dimmer switch on...more
We have enjoyed staying a this home for the last two years, for the convivence of location. What I have been disappointed with is the lack of basic provisions such as a basic hand wash in the bath rooms, a full toilet roll to start us off, lack of dish washer tablets, and extra pillows in the twin room and no welcome pack even a basic one with a small milk and a couple of tea bags. especially with the cost of accommodation. We would happily use Island home again to book a stay again, fabulous service, took all the stress out of booking ferry etc
Mollys lodge is a great place to stay. There was everything you needed for your holiday in the lodge. A lovely welcome pack was provided on our arrival. The lodge was clean and tidy. There were plenty of games snd books incase you needed to make your own entertainment….if not there is a massive TV! Thoroughly enjoyed the stay…will definitely re book.
There are no negatives at Hope House, from location to quality fixtures and fittings. This lovely home was immaculately clean upon arrival and has the added bonus of a very helpful neighbor who made parking so much easier.
The lovely weather ensured that we had a good stay for our first visit to the Isle if Wight. Spacious and comfy property, but there is a tricky turn into the property's road from the main road. View from the property over Ventnor is fabulous; needs to be seen to appreciate this comment. Well equipped kitchen, however a tray to carry drinks onto the balcony would be a useful addition.
perfect place to stay for the IOW festival - 30 mins drive into Newport but it was nice to go back to peace and quiet. Few cobwebs and mirrors were very smeary but apart from that, house was perfectly adequate.
Had a wonderful week at Willows. Been to I.O.W 3 times, this 1st time in Willows. We definitely go back. Lovely location, very comfortable cottage. Everything we needed was there. Can't fault it.
Another excellent stay at Woodside Cottage, a magical place. Two weeks of perfect weather meant we spent less time walking and more time enjoying the garden. Everything was as perfect as always and we are looking forward to returning next year. Home from home. Thank you Bob & Carole for another terrific stay.
Good location great kitchen well equipped good space maybe could update large bedroom furniture apart water leak at front of cottage while we were there but did not need to use front door used back entrance would stay again
Insignia is a great place to stay, it gives you a great base from which to explore the island and is ideally situated for the shops, bars & restaurants in Cowes town. The property is well maintained and is very clean. The bathroom is a real treat with a lovely walk in shower and a big bath. The bedrooms are all fine and we found the bed to be very comfortable. The stairs are a bit tight, as was the parking spot but we quickly got used to them both and they didn’t cause us any issues. Cows is a great place and all the pubs and restaurants were very welcoming, I would particularly recommend ...more
We enjoyed a spring break with 6 of us (2 grand parents, 2 parents and 2 student-aged sons). The venue has stunning views of the sea and we enjoyed sitting out in the front garden enjoying the view. The house is cosy but well equipped. Immediately behind the house is a steep path up to the highest downs on the Isle where you can enjoy wonderful walks. The house has access to buses and you can also walk down to Bonchurch and Ventnor. We enjoyed using the small telescope to study the moon while we were there.
We found the cottage to be just as described. The cottage is well located to get onto all major roads of the island. Located close but outside of Shanklin, giving access to all of the conveniences in the village, after a very short and pleasant walk. The area is extremely quite, with plenty of pleasant walks in the area. every thing in the cottage was in really good condition, however the four chairs provided to sit out on the grass, were very poor quality and unstable. Perhaps they could be upgraded. Other than the chairs, we found the cottage, the interior and fitments excellent.
It’s becoming our home from home. Our 7th visit here and have next year booked already. Nice to see a new fridge/freezer and other things we mentioned previously have been rectified. Never tire of the views and the sunrises are amazing.
We had an excellent holiday at Pointe South. Everything about the property was as we had hoped, and we felt completely at home. The sea view was the main feature of our stay, and that, along with excellent weather, gave us a memorable holiday. The house is very well appointed with modern appliances and everything we needed to make our stay a comfortable one. We were able to park our car (Kia Sportage) in front of the garage with plenty of room. Anyone with an additional car would be able to park it on the road nearby. The location worked well for us. We were able to travel to visit many ...more
Hope Cottage was perfect for our get-together, two families with grandparents. It had everything we needed in good location, on quiet road, with easy access to the beaches. Good selection of pubs and shops nearby. Very homely feel. Enclosed back garden was ideal for children to play in and numerous books, games, toys in playroom. Well equipped kitchen. We even had good weather and a barbeque in April!
Stayed here a few times now its off the beat and track and an excellent base for visiting the island Bed is comfortable its clean quite and if you want to see the stars a near perfect dark skies spot We like it so much we keep coming back The host lives next door and are the perfect neighbours
Lovely peaceful week in a beautiful location. Cottage was perfect for us and we enjoyed our weeks holiday.
What a fantastic week ! The villa was positioned in a fantastic position with sea views and literally less than 1 minute from the beach. Very accessible private parking which is a massive bonus. The villa is absolutely beautiful and quirky too. It contains everything you need for a very special stay. The only thing that was a little bit of a problem was that the water wasn’t very hot but we spoke to the maintenance man so hopefully this will be sorted. The outside areas were lovely, secure and spacious which is fantastic if you are taking your dog with you. On arrival there was a lovely bo...more
chose this location for the view over channel....the property is clean & is Fully Equipt !! just bring food...
The location was excellent, we love Shanklin with the view of the sea. The apartment was very comfortable, with the kitchen having just the right amount of appliances etc. We have mentioned personally that for those guests staying for 2 weeks, arrangements for a change of bedding could be in place at the onset of stay. As for us , we had to request a change midway of our stay. We were very handy for a variety of restaurants, cafes etc & the beach front was very clean. We found that although busy during the day & evening, the location was quiet for late evenings. We thoroughly enjoyed our holid...more
We stayed here for a week, there were 8 adults and 1 child. The house was perfect for the amount of people we had. The house its self was slightly dated but had plenty of room for us all, and of course the garden was the absolute highlight. We made use of the swimming pool, tennis court most days and there was also a BBQ to enjoy. The location was also beautiful, just a short walk to the beach and a lovely pub in close distance. Also close to bigger attractions, it was spot on. Would we come back? Yes we would! It was ideal for what we needed and all of us had a great time.
Loved staying here - the third time in 3 years - and we'll be back. Thanks so much for being helpful with everything and giving us somewhere lovely to stay!
We had an enjoyable stay and the apartment was comfortable. The location is perfect with a balcony looking over the sea. There are lots of great restaurants 15-20 minutes walk into the High Street of Cowes. Island Holiday Homes were very professional and helpful. We would also like to mention Ian one of the residents below who was very helpful and friendly.
I’ve been here for the second time now. Beautiful appartement with everything you need. It is fully equipped. Situated at a lovely beach with the most wonderful view at the sea and cliffs. Hope to stay here next year again.
Mature but beautifully maintained small bungalow in a stunning location above Ventnor. Access would be difficult for people with disabilities as there are steep steps. Parking would also prove difficult for some because of the slope.
Been to Helms House before had a wonderful stay it suites all our needs as a family thank you.Hope to be back from the Budd family
The cottage is a calm and peaceful place, perfect for catching a breath away from the busyness of work life. We loved the light of the bedroom, which opened onto the courtyard, the cozyness of the mezzanine floor and the sofa, and the "lean to" overlooking the courtyard. We were really pleased when the weather was warm enough to cook up a steak and eat outside! It's a clean and comfortable cottage (not IMMACULATE, but a home from home). Our experience could have been improved with clearer information / signage on arrival, soap in the bathrooms and a little more sweeping of cobwebs in hidden ...more
The house provided a perfect vacation stay for three generations of family. The location of the house was perfect for Sandown and was only a 2 1/2 minute walk to the beach. There is sufficient parking off road for 1 large car and on street parking available for any additional visitors. The house was very well presented and very clean and tidy. There was plenty of cutlery, plates and glasses etc and a washing machine and dishwasher. The view from the roof terrace was fantastic and the teenage kids made the most of the games consul and second lounge area in the roof. Would definitely try and sta...more
Had a lovely week. Cottage was comfortable and well equipped with a large enclosed garden which was great for the dog. The welcome hamper had lots of items in it and was a lovely touch. The location of the cottage was perfect, the sea at the end of the road and Yarmouth a short walk away.
We stayed at Anchor cottage for a short break, the cottage was lovely and warm for a cold January stay. We enjoyed watching the chain-link Bridge and being winter with the windows shut, the noise did not disturb us with the exception of the fog horn early one morning! The cottage had a dated feel and could do with an upgrade, the bedrooms sparse and a little cramped, especially the bunk room. However, it had everything that you needed for a comfortable stay and great river views.. The outside space, parking and neighbours were all excellent and we had an enjoyable time.
We very much enjoyed our stay in this compact, convenient and quiet property. It was only a short walk to the Esplanade and the Bus Station, which suited us well as we came by train. It seems a well-loved property where we quickly felt at home. We are in our eighties so pluses for us were toilets on both floors and a very comfortable double bed. A minus was the chairs in the sitting room which were very low. We also found the outside sitting area not very appealing as it was so small and shady. Two small things that might need addressing by the owner: 1)It was very hard to put the keys i...more
Off street parking ,pleasant garden near to shops and restaurants a clean comfortable cosy cottage what more could you possibly want, Ah ! just one more thing the Isle of Wight of course.
This was a very pleasant stay - the cottage was decorated well and kitchen well equipped. Lovely garden area outside with glass doors opening onto it.
I’ve stayed at many properties, and this one is good to look at as it is so old, but the comfort is not so good. The house is ideal as being so close to the manor. We stayed here for my daughter’s wedding, with my sister's husband upstairs and my family downstairs, The problems I had were the side gate open, and the shower not easy to use. The shower head small water goes on to window may be a curtain up, The beds are cricked, single not comfortable bedding cheap, need nice large towels, no welcome pack milk bread butter etc as there no shops near? There is tea coffee sugar The garden lovely b...more
Lovely apartment with quality period furnishings. Thoughtfully well equipped with a home from home appeal. Location perfect for coastal walks and just a short walk into town. Hope to return again soon.
We planned on staying at The Lodge for one week, we were so happy with the accommodation and the weather, that we stayed for TWO weeks. We didn't need to ask for anything, everything we needed for our holiday was there. The spa was just an extra luxury, a welcome end to the day. There was no problems getting into the lodge as the key is on the premises. I would definitely stay there again.
Had a lovely time here, great location and very quirky, extra shelving in the shower and bathroom would have been helpful but not a big issue really Company was helpful when we had an issue. Plenty to see and do locally
This is the fourth time I have stayed at Downedge over the years. It’s a great size house in a great location and well equipped. I really noticed this time that it needs some TLC and a deep clean. There were lots of cobwebs and dust. The stair carpets are very frayed and there were lots of leak stains on the ceiling. We didn’t use the front room as the sofas are very uncomfortable.
Location is perfect, very short walk to the town and beach which makes it quiet and enjoyable, the view from the balcony and roof terrace are fantastic. A very lovely house
We really enjoyed our stay at the Cottage and we'd like to provide the folowing constructive comments@ Good Points: 1. The cottage is in a lovely location alowing travel to all the usual spots on the island. 2. The Cottage is well fitted out with everything you would need to either stay in or go out. 3. The large conservatory was a bonus, allowing us to sit in the light even when it was raining. 4. The garden was lovely. Not so good points: 1.The entrance to the driveway in on the crest of a hill which means that it is a blind spot when entering or leaving the cottage, plus the gat...more
Had an amazing stay in this property. Is equipped with everything you will need for a great holiday! I loved having my own bedroom/floor and on suite. Will be back again soon ☺
Our first thought on arriving at the property was "I wish we bought our secateurs, the front garden was very overgrown". On entering the property, it was very well laid out and well equipped. The downside was the cleanliness. The kitchen sink was filthy - try using spray white vinegar - on that type of sink you cannot use cream cleaner or bleach. We had one of those and cleaned it daily. The shower could do with a good clean - it was black at the base of the shower inside and out. Quite a few cobwebs. The cushions are feather - our dog got one in his mouth and coughed and spluttered for...more
Sea Grove is a beautiful property, it has everything you could want during your stay. The view from the lounge is stunning The only negative we found was the mattresses in both double rooms have dips and are not very comfortable. The bedding is rather tired, spotlessly clean but needs replacing. Saying that, we are returning in August.
Another lovely stay at The Gate House. Place was super clean and gardens well kept. Just a lovely place to take our dogs in a great location for an Isle of Wight holiday. 7th trip already booked!
Lovely little cottage in a great location. Really well equipped but could do with a few bits of maintentence which we reportd and will be addressed.
The apartment is well presented & maintained. Lovely large double bedroom. Large lounge diner very good size. Kitchen is clean & all utensils for cooking are adequate. The only issue I had is sometimes I could hear people at night in the street. Busy road with customers visiting takeaway & local shop. The lift to the beach is 10 min walk away.
Cape 8 should be described as in ZoneA No oven gloves Only 1 dessert spoon Couldn’t connect to internet
Kildare, a 17th-century workhouse located in the lovely village of Niton, was the perfect base for our family holiday. Having grown up on the Island, it was a real joy to return and stay somewhere that made the most of the area’s natural beauty—especially with coastal walks and the sea a short walk from the doorstep. The house itself is a wonderful blend of old and new. It has a well-equipped kitchen, a cute garden, and a large dining room that worked perfectly for our group. Michael, the host, was fantastic—friendly, helpful, and informative. He took the time to explain how to manage the h...more
Such a beautiful place to spend time with people we love. Our dogs thought they were in heaven as they had a whole field to romp in. We would come here again.
Disappointing cleanliness on arrival with crumbs in the lounge, cigarette buts and a bath sponge on the decking. Fabulous views of the sunrise.
Newly refurbished property ,great location enjoyed the food in the Birdham ate there often the service was good and staff very friendly.. Only two of us , the twin beds would be ok for children maybe the option of another double would suit 4 adults also bathroom downstairs good but upstairs showerroom ,shower very challenging and we are under 5 and half feet tall . There was also a problem with the WiFi and we had no television at one point they did have an Ariel point so maybe this could be re instated for breakdowns . That said the owners said they were going to look into this . We enjoy...more
This house has such potential to be a great holiday home - the location is wonderful, the rooms are large and layout of the house is fab. However, upon arrival the house had clearly only had a very light clean. There was white dog hair everywhere and we had to clean the bath before using it. The shower tray didn’t drain when using it and there was a strong drainage smell in both bathrooms. The slats on the main bed were broken when we arrived but the agent sent someone to fix it straight away the next day. The velux windows didn’t open in most rooms which made the house stuffy - those windows ...more
Musty smell on arrival, out door furniture needed cleaning before use, relaxer chairs needed replacing. Heating and hot water system a challenge, shower over bath would not maintain a constant temperature , the water control on second shower fell off. All very dated, tourist informacion was mainly 3 years out of date. No welcome pack of any sort. Well equiped and good sized rooms.
We were sadly disappointed with the cleanliness of the property - I did alert the people who we rented the property from, we felt it necessary to wash All crockery, cutlery, clean the floor as it felt gritty, hoovered upstairs..... does this feel right to you.? We found a duvet cover that has traces of blood on it, and there was a smell of damp in the property, I was told by the neighbor that the cleaners as supposed to do a 5hr deep clean between each occupier? i have a photo of underneath our bed (double room) which shows a lot of dust. We use a lot of self catering properties twice a ...more
Had the most wonderful family holiday at brooks close. Everything you need for a perfect relaxing break. The house well equipped, clean and tidy. This is brilliant value for money and in superb location. We loved walking down to the beach and going swimming if tide in or crabbing at low tide. Cooked some nice meals in the large kitchen . Enjoyed relaxing in garden. Plenty of room for children to have their own space on holiday too. Can't wait to book again.
Lovely big house for multi generational. Most of house is in good condition but the lower ground floor needs some maintenance. Had a humidifier in the bedroom because of the damp and it had to be emptied every day. My clothes felt cold and damp. The kitchen was supposed to have been renovated this year but has not happened and the shower room needs an upgrade as not very pleasant. The garden was lovely but again lacked maintenance as the bushes needed cutting back and grass wanted cutting. Upstairs bedrooms and shower room were very nice and beds very comfortable. The apartment itself was good, the site dismal!! The view shown is from the bedrooms. The frontage/entrance is of an abandoned, overgrown and litter strewn building site! The restaurant still being advertised is long since closed. Very disappointed and feel the advertising is dishonest.
We had a great stay at this property - the view is outstanding as well as the location - there is a steep walk back up it but it’s fine if you able fairly fit. The home felt comfortable, shower good and bed comfy - lots of facilities if you wanted to cook - I would highly recommend :)
Perfect location for a lively family with easy access to the beach. Generally well equipped and comfortable although outside space requires a bit more care and furniture in better condition.
1 - Front Garden. Full of weeds on uneven path leading to front door along with overgrown beds. Driveway bushes need trimming as uncle to park the car on the concrete. Front door step way too high for anyone with disability. 2 - Back Garden. Nice large garden but spoilt with over grown bushes, with Bindweed in the beds and in the bushes, some full of brambles. (Gardener came the day before we departed but only cut the grass and no maintenance to the above. Patio nice and large but lacks any shade - needs a Parasol. Patio needs a clean. We had a lovely holiday exploring the island and the Napier Apartment is in a perfect location. Unfortunately we were disappointed with several aspects, particularly the cleanliness. The apartment is in need of a Deep Clean. The skirting boards, and around the toilet were very dirty. The kitchen rubbish bin was filthy when we removed the bin liner. The net curtain in the dining area needed a good wash. We couldn't see through it and it was difficult to draw back as a it was hooked up into the rusty wire at the top. The microwave was dirty inside. The wooden table was stained. The insides of ...more
