This is an amazing property. Absolutely loved our week here. Nice kitchen (although we didn't use the cooker) Ample storage for supplies and nice size fridge/freezer. Bedrooms nice size and washer dryer and airier all available which when you have kids is a god send. Bathroom brilliant although was a bit worried to begin with as thought the toilet seat was very small but this was an extra child seat the normal seat was underneath lol. Amazing view out the front bay window. We spent most evenings and mornings sat in the bay window enjoying the view and the sound of the waves magical. The only n...more
Fantastic house it was ideal to host the bridesmaids in with great facilities and plenty of room for the bride and 6 bridesmaids to get ready in. Gorgeous views and great size balconies. We all had a brilliant stay and would highly recommend the house as somewhere to stay.
An ideal location for visiting IOW. A comfortable, clean flat with everything one needs and a view. Friendly owners.
This is the nicest apartment we have ever stayed in. No bits of old furniture and ornaments but design led and extremely tasteful. The owner was very pleasant and helpful and we wouldn't hesitate to return. If there was anything I could do to improve it would be a few more kitchen utensils and maybe a couple of small mixing bowls for porridge/scrambled eggs etc. Otherwise the cooking facilities were excellent. The beds were very comfortable with good quality linens and the sofa and chairs in the lounge were also very comfortable. The south coast of the IOW is very beautiful and the apart...more
The Hideaway is clean & nicely furnished with wonderful views over a nearby meadow (take your binoculars so you can get a close up of the woodpeckers, foxes and other interesting wildlife). It is a fully fitted and very comfortable apartment in the middle of the countryside but only a few minutes drive from Newport town centre. Being located centrally on the island, we were not far from any of the island attractions and beauty spots. We went home relaxed and will definitely return for another 'chill out', having already recommended the apartment and its owners to friends & family.
Well worth the 'bumpy' road to get to this wonderfully located cottage.Having the jetty looking over the creek at the bottom of the garden was a big plus. A super place for bird life and seeing the red squirrels was a rare pleasure. The bedrooms are ideally located and both having patio doors out onto the decking was lovely. We all had a wonderfully relaxing, very comfortable week staying here and are so glad we found such a special 'dog friendly' place. Thank you for sharing it with us Anne.
The Lodge was in a perfect location. Quiet but within a few minutes walk to Shanklin. Everything you could need was provided including extra pillows and blankets. The cottage was warm and cosy and we felt at home straight away. Very pretty spring garden. We had our 3 year old springer spaniel with us and the layout of the cottage was such that muddy paws could be cleaned in the conservatory before she entered the kitchen and the rest of the cottage. Also the garden was secure so we had no worries that she could wander off. A welcome folder had been supplied which gave instructions on how to us...more
Have stayed at the cottage three times now, love going there such a lovely view and very relaxing. If anything could be improved we would say the addition of wi fi and a bigger settee would be great.
Loved this barn, plenty of room for the eight of us who stayed. Right on the off road cycle track so we hired bikes and cycled from the door without having to go near a road, ideal for the younger ones. Always stacks to do on the Island and we could not fault either the property owners or Island Holidays, both of whom were exceptionally helpful.
Our second stay at Mole Cottage proved as relaxing and enjoyable as the first. With sea views, quiet location and wildlife on your back doorstep and so much else the Island has to offer in just a relative short car ride, who could fail to enjoy and return home refreshed and recharged.
My daughter, my young grandchildren and I rented Beechwood cottage for a week over May half term. It's always a bit nerve wracking when you've rented a property you've never been to before, so we approached the grand iron gates with a little trepidation. No need to have worried, the property was excellent with the best, most enormous, garden space I've ever seen. The owners, who live next door in 'the big house' were lovely, always available to answer questions or just pass the time of day. The house is on the edge of Ryde, with walks into woodland on the doorstep and only a five minute drive ...more
We had a lovely holiday, the accommodation was perfect for our needs, clean, good facilities in a beautiful peaceful location. The kids loved the ducks who greeted us most mornings. Thank you to Emma and her family for looking after us so well, we will be returning.
We found this gem around 4 years ago and have been back at least once yearly. The cottage is in a fantastic location if your looking for peace and quite this is the place for you. The property has been completely refurbished and has a contemporary feel. It's a great base for a great holiday. See you there.
Lovely location, plenty to watch in the marina. We found it a good place to go to anywhere on the island by car, with little traffic problems.Very nice restaurant a few minutes away, and supermarkets minutes away by car.The flat is probably the best equipped flat we have been in ,it has been well thought out and was much appreciated.Loved it.
The apartment was a late choice when the one we had originally booked became unavailable. Although initially disappointed it did not have a balcony the sea view is very very good, there is also an allocated parking space on the car park opposite the flat which is a great bonus when you return as it saves searching for a space on the street. It is also in a good location as it is between the shops and the beach so only a few minutes from both. The apartment has everything you may need, and is both comfortable as well as very nicely decorated. The only negative thing I would say is that the ma...more
We really enjoyed our stay at the Squeak. The cottage was more spacious than expected and well equipped. Initially thought there was a lack of drawer space in the bedroom but then realised there were some in the base of the bed. Overall, it was very comfortable (though something to put shampoo etc on in the shower would be useful) and in such a peaceful location - so nice sitting on the patio overlooking open countryside. Only 10/15 minute walk into the village and we had a couple of nice meals in the Taverners. Ideal spot for walkers and cyclists. We took our bikes and used the Red Squirrel r...more
We had a lovely week stayed on as the weather was so good. Have stayed here a number of times and t never disappoints
New and modern apartment which is fully equipment all to high standards. Was very impressed. Very spacious and comfy. Plenty of car park space. Nicely located away from the high street in a quiet location. Ideally need a car in Isle of Wight to visit all the attractions with families. Would highly recommend Yewtree.
What a wonderful holiday in a lovely village and a beautiful home. It was our first time to the Isle of Wight, and we loved it. The house is perfectly situated to see the island if you have a car. The Old Court Wing was very very clean, well set out and had all the mod cons that you need. It would have been more convenient for us as 4 adults and 2 children if there were a shower in the main bathroom as well as the ensuite but this would not put us off staying there again in the future. The only negative was that the wifi is not very good however we think this is typical of the island. T...more
This was our second stay at 3 Elizabeth House and very much enjoyed again. It's a lovely comfortable living space, great views and so convenient just a stone's throw from Ventnor Beach. The owners were very gracious and flexible with our arrival and departure times, which really helped make our arrival and departure as easy and pleasant as possible. Thanks again!
A lovely, well equipped cottage in Bembridge. Being just a couple of minutes walk from the pretty centre of the village and all the shops you could need, whilst just a few minutes further from the picturesque harbour and wonderful beach by the lifeboat station was a godsend. The cottage is comfortable, well equipped, and there are nice touches - tea and coffee available on arrival, a bottle of wine if you need it, a shed with crabbing nets and the like for the kids, a comfy garden with a BBQ (the butcher just a few minutes away does amazing sausages!), TV with iPlayer and stock of board games ...more
This holiday home is well equipped for keeping the kids entertained. There was a great trampoline in the garden and swingball and the house had books and games and dvds. There is every convenience in the kitchen including a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer. These appliances made the holiday hassle free rather than make do. The bedrooms were light and airy with great views and there was an extra sink in the main bedroom. The only thing we thought was a bit disappointing was that after a long journey with two toddlers we arrived 10 mins early and found the cleaner still at the...more
We had a wonderful week on the Isle of Wight, from picking up the keys from the agent to our departure the stay was great. Well appointed accommodation, spacious with all of the mod cons, kitchen well stocked with some unexpected extras. The location was good and allowed us to to do some early morning walks in the hills overlooking our accommodation and an easy but steep walk down into the village. It was also a good base for exploring all of the rest of the island with tendency stay away from the northen side of the island as the Isle of Wight Music Festival was on during the weekend. We really enjoyed our holiday in Myrtle cottage. We did find some difficulty in locating the cottage once having found Bonchurch Shute - the name Myrtle cottage could not be seen from the street . The house was well equipped and we enjoyed sitting in the conservatory as well as in the garden when weather allowed. ( I would like to have weeded it!) The beds were comfortable . The cottage was well located in walking distance to the Bonchurch Inn. We liked the fact that there was a bath as well as a shower. Loads of hot water.
Pelham Lodge is a lovely house. It's is dated in parts but very comfortable and a great house for a family gathering. Kitchen needs updating. Fiona was incredibly helpful and really looked after us well.
We booked through island holiday homes and found it extremely useful because they supported us in all relevant ways from contacting the owner to booking the ferry and local support upon arrival when we noticed that some documents had stayed behind. The accommodation was perfect and in a perfect condition for our small family of four.
Iduna did feel like a home from home for us as a family, we relaxed as soon as we arrived because it was just like the description and photos we had viewed when booking and was better than we had imagined. The house was comfortable the kitchen was well stocked all the utensils you could need for cooking and we enjoyed many happy meals we cooked and prepared in the kitchen around the dinning table. Our son loved the PS3 and many games he had to choose from and he loved his bedroom. We liked Freshwater and the house being so close to the shops and restaurant's and a football/basketball court...more
It was a lovely accessible apartment, very modern, with a sunny courtyard for sitting outside when the weather is nice. Ian and Shirley are very welcoming and are keen to make sure you are very comfortable. They love dogs and have a dog themselves, so it is a great apartment to take a dog and there are walks and a park nearby. I have graded them as excellent apart from the location, which is excellent for car journeys but not so good if you want to walk into town, as it took me 25- 30 minutes to get down to the sea front and as Ryde is hilly, it was quite a hike back. They have a cottage o...more
We had a great week here. The house was big and clean and nicely furnished and well located only 5 mins walk to shop and beach. No parking but it is available on street or in car parks nearby.
Turned out to be a very well presented and appointed property in a surprisingly quiet location. We opted to travel everywhere using local transport and found that the nearness of the bus stop and the frequency of the service was excellent. Overall well satisfied with our stay.
We had a very enjoyable 2nd stay at Coastguards. It was very comfortable and well situated. Wendy was very friendly and helpful, we would stay again.
Although the interior of the property was clean and very comfortable and location excellent, the exterior courtyard and seating area was shabby and dirty with weeds pushing up through drive etc. Piles of garden rubbish left lying about, furniture dirty and unusable which was a shame as we had excellent weather most of the week. Having said that we had a fantastic week at Seagulls with our grandchildren not wanting to leave. A suggestion would be the provision of a tumble dryer as the property is in a perfect position for the beach, it must be uneconomical to rely on radiators through the summe...more
Very nice cottage. Was greeted upon arrival by owners.... flowers , local jam and biscuits for us aswell. The cottage is way more then we could ask for. Everything you could want on holiday. A holiday if you drive. As buses are every 2 hours from Newport. And last bus 1755 from Newport. Would recommend this cottage to everyone..... Thank you for a great holiday.
My family (2 adults, 2 children & baby) stayed at the Grainstore for a week in the October half term and had a fantastic time. The property was perfect for us in terms of size with a modern and fresh feel. The owners live in the farmhouse next door and were very accommodating and helpful. We are fussy with high standards and I was a bit worried as the photos on the website don't really do it justice but we were pleasantly surprised and would recommend to anyone else.
We had a lovely stay at this spacious cottage . Lovely walk into Yarmouth and great that the bus stops are located near to the house to . Very well equipped and very clean . Would definately like to return .
Beach Side was wonderful even better than we expected. We really enjoyed our holiday there the location is fantastic, the house itself is out of this world we fell in love with it right away. It had everything that we needed, our Grandson loved the teddies and even gave them names. The weather was kind to us so we could enjoy the garden. We will definitely be staying here again. Also the man next door was really friendly, stopping to have a chat when we saw him. The only downside to our holiday was that it wasn't long enough we didn't want to come home. Thank You so much for a lovely holiday...more
Lovely, clean well kept home. Beautiful garden, ideal location for beach and Shanklin old town, would definitely recommend and would definitely stay there again if we come back to the IOW.
A big, beautiful, family-friendly house in a lovely village location - we felt so lucky to find it!.
The cottage was well maintained and supplied with everything you need for home from home stay and very clean. All ages catered for. Although in a quiet area, which was appreciated by us, it is very easy to get to a number of beaches and attractions. Bus stop at the end of the road.
A comfortable house in a good location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, The Lifeboat pub in the East Cowes marina is very close buy and does good meals. A Waitrose is quite near and Osborne House is also nearby.
We were a party of 3 families (2+2) with the children aged between 8 and 12 Despite the first couple of days weather being drizzly - we just adored being at Downedge and at times was a challenge to get out with so much on our doorstep. When we did venture out we found everything was within easy reach. The property was well equipped with pretty much everything! Cheeky one - we arrived on FA cup final day (Arsenal being the winners) - the only one area i could possibly provide some constructive feedback on is not having a "huge TV screen" with HD recording facility - as i say - that would be...more
We enjoyed our second stay in Niton Very friendly owner and cottage immaculate My only concern for future holiday makers is that the bathroom is very small - shower door does not open fully
A fantastic holiday home in an ideal location to explore the Isle of Wight. Furnished beautifully and everything you could need provided. Highly recommend staying there.
The cottage is lovely and we found it certainly had more than we needed for our stay. Gorgeous character and fabulous garden too! However our mattress (green room) was not comfy and definitely needed changing. We would love to stay here again and would definitely recommend cottage if the mattress was new so that we could have a good sleep whilst enjoying holiday and cottage! Otherwise we loved it!
Good location, nice little village, just what we wanted.. Would recommend it.Comfortable beds, might be an idea to take an eye mask as the sun shines in main bedroom very early.
It is a house on four floors with a lot of stairs providing sleeping accommodation for eight persons. The kitchen is very small for a large party, it would be impossible to seat everyone at the table, we struggled with three adults and two children, but plenty of crockery and cutlery were provided. There were two living rooms one at the top of the house with comfortable sofas and one on the first floor with views to the rear of the property. The beach is two minutes walk around the building over a grassed area with outdoor seating so perfect for children and adults. The village of Bemb...more
This is a very pleasant little cottage in a super location very close to the centre of Yarmouth and very near to the sea, but without any significant noise problems. Yarmouth is a beautiful little town with a lot of character and charm, especially if you're into boats! The cosy accommodation is quite comfortable including the beds and the levels of equipment are very good indeed, but tall people be prepared to bump your heads occasionally! Also the back yard is very pleasant in the sunshine. Parking was not as difficult as I expected - we managed to find a resident's space every day except one...more
A warm welcome from the owners plus a were tasty sponge cake. The apartment was a home from home and was nice and handy for the restaurants and shops and other amenities. The location was very quiet and peaceful. All in all we made a good choice.
We had a great stay at Morse Cottage which was pet friendly so ideal for our chocolate Labrador. The two bedroom property was spacious, clean and cosy with lots of windows and lovely views of the sea, meadows, hills. Very peaceful and only a few minutes walk to the costal path and the most magnificent views of the light house and sea. Only downside was you had to drive to the nearest shop / pub in Niton as a little too far to walk and no street lights if you were walking back to the property when it was dark.
We really enjoyed our stay at Bellevue Road--perfect location, comfortable and stylish, well-equipped kitchen, all the baby things we needed (travel cot, high chair, toys, dishes), and wonderful weather to boot! We'll be back.
Hurst View is a lovely home and had the much needed room we wanted. Good location and ideal for a morning walk to the beach for a coffee. Garden was a nice size and lots of equipment in the shed. Only down side is it needs a little attention in places and could do with new saucepans and a new broom. May be time to look at new beds and washing machine. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come again,
This is our second consecutive year at Mariners, the house is spacious with plenty of room for our party of 4 people, its generally clean but is showing some very minor signs of wear and tear, but nothing significant, the rear garden patio and conservatory are lovely. The location is ideal for us, as most of the time we spent around the South & Eastern side of the island. The house is located at the top of a quiet cul-de-sac, the surrounding neighbours are very friendly, the village itself has a good range of facilities which are only a very short walk away. The beach is around a 5-10 minute...more
We really enjoyed our stay in the garden apartment. A very comfortable place in an excellent position in Sandown giving easy access to all the other main attractions. A suggestion for visitors like us who sometimes go out separately would be an extra door key but otherwise a lovely stay. And Bellamys restaurant is to be recommended.
Me and my family have been visiting St Helen's for over 30 years as part of a sailing regatta held in Bembridge Marina. We have previously stayed at 2 other properties in St Helen's before discovering Linda Cottage. We can say this is by far the best cottage, well equipped, very cosy and with a nice secure courtyard garden for our dog and to relax in during the warm evenings. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and will be booking again for next year.
Lovely house in good location, very quiet area. The terrace has excellent sea views, good outdoor furniture and great for afternoon tea! We had superb weather, so were there every day. Only complaint, could do with a couple of medium sized saucepans, otherwise, very well equipped.
A very quiet location at the end of april! Easy parking. But when were there, there was only 4 more people staying. Bungalow is simple but has all the essentials. Look out for lack of mobile phone coverage though - on virgin anyway. Close to the beach front for a good walk to ryde. Seaview does not have many amenities, but ryde is nearby - only 5 minutes by car. That has everything you need. Easy to check in and out as the key is held outside. Remember to use the immersion heater - hot water is not automatic. This caught us out the first night.
Lovely and quite location with wonderful sea views. Beautiful nature reserve. Perfect for a relaxing break. Would have been nice to have welcome pack with basic info like nearest main bus stop and supermarket.
Four of us have been using Quay Cottage for a number of years as we return every year to the Isle of Wight. Beautiful cottage - ideally located. Everything you need , everything clean and tidy Will continue to return hopefully for a number of years , always very enjoyable
Instructions need updating. We had to help visitors to adjoining Morse Cottage find their key box because instructions not accurate. Hot water supply not very reliable and instructions to re-set it out of date (reference to control panel being opposite a red sofa that isn't there any more). No guidelines about what should go into the recycle bin. Outside furniture not up to standard of indoor furniture. TV extremely complicated. Given cost of property I think it should be replaced with something simpler. No scales in kitchen. However, we had a very good time despite being unlucky with the ...more
We had a fabulous stay at Ningwood. It's in a excellent location for getting around the Island and is very peaceful for those wanting to relax. The apartment itself has a perfect layout, was clean and well equipped for self catering (we are used to taking our own tea-towels and a few utensils, toilet rolls and cleaning products etc but saw we needn't have brought them as all were there in the apartment). My 7 year thought it was amazing and didn't want to leave. Would definitely recommend Nigwood and will most likely stay again.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable and the large balcony a bonus. The only two negative were that the cooking equipment (saucepans etc) needs to be renewed and the car parking arrangement needs to be dealt with as our reception from the hotel owner was not all good. The position of the parking space differs to that of the small map.
Excellent location and lovely house. The stairs are indeed very steep, another handrail would be useful. Yarmouth is really delightful and the location means there is an easy flat walk into Yarmouth for your fresh morning bread.and croissants.
Colorful and picturesque place to stay! We met friendly, always pleasant and helpful people ... Ideal place in every respect.
Good clean house with all the basics you would need. Easy access and parking was useful and found the kitchen well equipped. Enjoyed the jigsaws and a chance to relax as a family away from too much technology!
This is our second year at Sea Grove and we will definitely be back for a third! The accommodation is very spacious and comfortable with a lovely secluded patio area. Everything you could need is here, including plenty of tea and coffee for a cuppa on arrival! The bungalow is in an ideal location with the beautiful Ventnor Park at the bottom of the road and the coastal path just beyond that. Perfect for dog walking (if you don't mind hills!) Ventnor town is also within walking distance. We had a lovely holiday and would recommend Sea Grove to anyone.
We have stayed at Admirals for the last 4 or 5 years. It seems to need a little more care. This year we had 3 bulbs that were out, also the back needs some TLC. We love staying in Yarmouth and Admirals but last year the kitchen was not as clean as it could be and this year it was the bulbs and it never used to be like this.
House is much better than it appears from frontage. Light, bright and airy inside. Kitchen well stocked with cooking equipment. Be careful on stairs as steep and painted white on stair and walls. Main bedroom very comfortable. Beds in twin rooms are more suitable for children. Plenty of space throughout the house for six to spread out and do separate activities. Nice, sunny and safe outdoor space. Space for parking a large car tight but manageable. Great information package, please read it as it is really useful. Location is lovely. Bembridge has great facilities for fresh food and there is a...more
We were pleasantly surprised at the condition of the property and in particular the facilities. It was warm and inviting. We found the size of the fridge and stove very good. I was quite jealous of the stove in comparison to our own.
Great location in the centre of Ryde and only a short walk to the sea front, shops and bars. The interior of apartment itself was newly refurbished, smart in appearance and comfortable. The usual essential items were to be found with the kitchen being capable for those evenings where you want to 'stay in' and cook. We were a little disconcerted with the security of the apartment, as it shares a common entrance into the ground floor/rest of the house. As such, the occupants of the ground floor (which does have a locked door), could simply walk down the stairs into the basement apartment. ...more
The location of the house is excellent with only a 10 minute walk to the beach. The off road parking is hard to negotiate for large cars eg MPVs. After staying there a number of times we feel the house is now very much in need of a good overhaul. The dining room needs new a new set of chairs as the current ones are sagging on the seat so you can feel the wooden frame of the chair making them very uncomfortable. The conservatory is in desperate need of re decorating to get rid of the mould growing up the wall near the plug sockets and the blinds need cleaning/replacing. The damp musty smell in ...more
