Wonderful peaceful location. Owners are very friendly and eager to please. We have stayed many times over the years in several different properties and all are kept very clean and up to date. Although location is peaceful you are just a few minutes drive from Thirsk and within easy driving of Ripon, Northallerton or even York. Also easy access to North Yorkshire moors and the Dales.
Our fourth time to Squirrel, and Old Oak Cottages. We love coming back. Lots to do locally and the cottage is perfect for a family of 4. The swimming pool is used most days, having a private slot each day is really special, as well as having a communal slot if you miss your cottage time is great. We plan on returning again. Our second stay at Old Oak Cottages, a beautiful, spacious and spotlessly clean lodge with every amenity you could possibly need. Three good sized bedrooms, large lounge/dining area, kitchen, utility room and hallway. Two bathrooms to use and a downstairs cloakroom with a toilet and shower. Whilst staying at Old Oak Cottage’s guests have the use of a large indoor swimming pool, each lodge has their own private time ( we needed to change our time on a couple of days and Amanda accommodated us on both days) there is also a communal time too.
