Yr Ydlan is our most spacious cottage for four people with two super king bedrooms which can become two twin bedrooms on request. The bathroom has a shower and bath. The living room is the largest of the cottages with hand made kitchen and velvet sofas. Yr Ydlan can take 4 dogs and has a fenced terrace with lovely views. Guests can use the Hot Tub and Sauna.

Once again a fabulous stay for a week in August. The hosts, Emma & Alex, are very welcoming & provide lots of information about the area. They are quick to help with any questions concerning your stay. Cottages are well equiped, clean & tidy. There is a washing machine & dryer in the laundry room if required. The hot tub & sauna are in a seperate building overlooking a view of the Pembrokeshire countryside & each cottage is able to book for an hour private use per day. There are some beautiful walks from the cottages & fabulous sandy beaches nearby.

We just love staying here. We have been numerous times and the current owners have done a fabulous job of renovating and updating all the cottages. They are furnished to a high standard and have quality fixtures and fittings. We feel like we can relax here with our dogs and take them for walks on the nearby dog friendly beaches. The enclosed dog paddock is useful for early mornings and evenings. You can even leave well behaved dogs for a couple of hours and sneak out for a dog free meal. I don’t have a bad word to say- Emma and Alex have improved the cottages so much and provide so much more than a hotel/B&B that it’s worth paying a little extra. Thankyou for a lovely stay. We will be back!

We have stayed here several times with our 3 dogs and keep returning because it is so idyllic. The cottages are beautiful, the location is stunning and hosts Emma and Alex are lovely. You start to relax even before you reach the cottages, being treated to such a wonderful view of the coast as you approach.
After a long car journey the dogs can stretch their legs in the dog paddock before walking down through the woods to have a paddle in the bay or hop back in the car for 5 mins and have a run at Poppit Sands.
There are so many wonderful walks and places to visit within a 30 minute drive; woods, hills and beaches, all so peaceful and away from crowds.
There are so many great places to eat locally or where you can pick up a takeaway to eat back at the cottage. We went on a boat trip in Cardigan Bay and saw dolphins and seals.
The cottages are beautiful, very comfortable and have everything you could possibly want.
Emma and Alex are on hand if you have any questions or would like recommendations on where to go.
Almost everywhere is dog friendly, it is just a very special place to visit, if like us, you enjoy taking your dogs on holiday but you still want gorgeous accommodation, it's perfect and we can not wait to return, again!

The cottage exceeded all expectations! Stunningly beautiful, exquisitely tasteful, really comfortable beds, super high quality bedding. Also in the perfect location for exploring the spectacular Pembrokeshire coast.

And on top of all this, sauna, hot tub and yoga classes - just dreamy.

I will definitely be back!

Emma and Alex have created a magical destination at Cwm Connell, with Django and Elva as perfect dog hosts. The cottages are so thoughtfully designed with beautiful interiors. The dogs live the high life with a paddock overlooking one of the best ocean sunset views you will have seen. From your doorstep, you can venture down a beautiful footpath along a river and through an enchanting garden their neighbour has made a sanctuary for wildlife and plants, to Ceibwr Bay and the coastal path. We love visiting as find different gems of walks each time, sandy bays, coastal walks and ocean swims with seals and dolphins around. The food scene in neighbouring towns of Cardigan and Newport is impressive. In the industry we were in, we were always looking for destinations for retreats with a communal space, great accommodation and in a magical spot. I think Cwm Connell currently rates number one for what they offer, and would recommend to anyone looking for a retreat venue to do a recce asap.

What an amazing find !! From start to finish it has been a truly wonderful experience. Alex and Emma have thought of everything !! The cottage was so comfortable and stylish . The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed . The dogs were welcome and catered for in every way . What’s not to recommend .

On arrival we were met by Emma who showed us the facilities, the cottage was perfect, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and with everything we needed. The dog field was large enough that the dogs could have a good run round first thing before we set off out for the day. We only had time for a short break but visited Poppit Sands, Newport Sands, walked the circular route along the coast from Poppit and also the walk directly from the cottages, through the woods down to the Bay, we -and our dogs enjoyed every one, the dogs especially loved the freedom on the uncrowded beaches. We had coffee and cake at the cafes by the beaches - delicious ! It was nice to know that back at the cottage was a dog wash so we could shower the sand off the dogs and the weather was nice so they could sit outside and dry off (although a dog hairdryer is provided). We ate as recommended by Alex and Emma at The Ferry Inn and Llys Meddyg - both very good. We then enjoyed the evenings in front of the log burner with a hot chocolate. As our dogs like to sit on the sofa we made sure we took some heavy duty throws as we did not want to spoil the lovely furniture although throws are provided. All in all we had a super time in a beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of the world and cannot recommend highly enough - we hope to be back in the spring.
