This was our 5th visit to the cottage. We love it so much. It’s so relaxing and we literally do nothing. Pack our PJ’s to chill in and swimwear for the hot tub - which is amazing to sit in looking at the stunning views and then head inside to a warm fire - my husband just loves making that fire - curl up on the sofa with a nice glass of wine and watch a film.

A special cottage in an amazing location. The photos don't do it justice. Cath is a wonderful host and went out of her way to look after us. You'll fall in love with the place just like we did because it's made with love.

We spent 4 nights at Higher Scholes Cottage.
This was a return stay and we enjoyed it just as much.
It has everything you need with some thoughtful touches and sweet treats.
We were lucky with the weather so were able to sit out and enjoy the beautiful view.

What a lovely cottage, so tranquil and calm and impeccably decorated inside. We had everything we needed for meals etc, and the location was beautifully peaceful. A perfect base to explore Haworth and then come back and read a Bronte or two whilst looking out on the moors.

Love Higher Scholes. Every time I stay here I discover another reason why it’s so brilliant. Amidst the gales and rain of four days across NYE 24-25 had the best time whether hot tub dips (covered and beautifully sited) at night, sunrise, sunset, midday or whenever; cooking and eating in the well equipped sociable bit table warm kitchen; relaxing in the comfortable lounge; sleeping in the excellent bedroom with quality mattress and all facilities and extra touches or just having totally peaceful, private fun and drinks. It’s rhe best. Book the moment you see a chance!

This is our 4th visit to HSC - which says it all really! We first came 10 years ago for my 40th and had a wonderful stay, followed by two further visits in 2019 and 2021. So naturally it seemed fitting to return for my 50th!
This is truly special place: peaceful, stunning views, incredibly comfy and cosy inside and always cleaned and presented to such a high standard.
When we walk through the door I feel like I'm coming home - but only the the best bits about home. Candles flicker, music plays, there are chocs and a bottle of wine chilling, and (in our case) a Happy Birthday balloon.
We only stayed 3 nights this time but even that was enough to totally recharge our batteries. I can't recommend this place highly enough (but l also don't want anybody to know because then it's harder to book! )

A fantastic property in a fantastic location with fantastic views. Everything about this cottage was just perfect, very clean, very well equipped, loads of thoughtful little extras, so comfy, fantastic hot tub and loads of walks from the door, Great pub serving great food and drink just up the road, and easily walkable or a 2 minute drive. Nothing seems too much trouble for the owners, Cath, Ian and family, so all in all we couldn’t ask for more. Already looking to arrange another stay there it’s that good.

We have had several stays at this immaculate cottage, if we could afford it we would buy it from the owners! that's how much we feel at home there. Clean, tidy, quiet and private with the owner being on hand but never intrusive, we now consider her a friend knowing all of our ups and downs! of which there are many and have shared with her our many personal issues including
medical problems with my Wife which she always asks about whenever we see her.
Please use this cottage as you will not be disappointed as we never are and chill in the hot tub over looking a great view with a glass of your choice accompanied with a silver duck!!!!

A lovely hideaway. Tranquil, quiet and fabulous views across the moors.
Numerous walks on the doorstep and Haworth is within easy reach by car or on foot if you are feeling energetic.
Skipton. Ilkley and Bolton Abbey all within a 45 minute journey.
The cottage is ideal for Two and of course what better than to while away time in the hot tub.

Have stayed in this beautiful cottage many times and have to say it is stunning, situated on the edge of Haworth with stunning views, a little tip, jump in the hot tub at dusk it’s amazing and the complimentary bubbly is very welcome along with all the other little treats. Nothing is too much trouble for Cath and family and organised lots of birthday treat upon arrival for our stay. Beautifully furnished with everything required for a comfortable stay, we shall be back very soon

We booked to return pre Christmas after our very enjoyable first stay in May. Lovely Seasonal atmosphere with Christmas tree, other decorations and a delightful warm comfortable glow. The hot tub was great with steam rising against the -1C outside temperature, and the beautiful views from within it. Our second visit just confirmed what a marvellous, relaxing, wonderful cottage and location this is. We will undoubtedly return again.

I managed to get this weekend break short notice and wasn't sure what to expect. The place itself is truly amazing with the nice touches made by the owners. The options for flowers, food and wine are also worth diving into just to make the stay even more special.
Cannot fault our experience it was excellent 5 star plus for sure.

We stayed at the beginning of June for our mini moon! It was THE MOST chilled, relaxing and luxurious stay. Cathy ensured we had everything we needed whilst giving us space to relax after our wedding. The cottage is absolutely stunning and beautifully decorated. The garden and hot tub was superb, sunny & private. It was the perfect end to our wedding week to relax, recover and reflect. They were so accommodating and worth every penny. We have been to this cottage 5/6 times. It is immaculate and we would not go anywhere else in the area. The cottage is warm and welcoming and has some lovely views enjoyed on the patio with a glass or two! Everything is perfect from getting an email asking what tog duvets we wanted and giving us a list of of extras like Afternoon tea/Ploughman's Platters (which was yummy), plus information about local amenities, local pubs, restaurants etc. It was lovely arriving to music being played, a bottle of Prosecco and strawberry's. The hot tub was superb, used everyday! even when it was raining.
Cath is divine, close to us next door but never interfering, but always on hand, the perfect host x
If you get the chance to come to this area PLEASE go to this cottage, you will not be disappointed, can't wait to come again next year. x

Great location with stunning views. Comfortable cottage with hot tub. Good walking and hiking in the area.
Interesting places to visit nearby.
The only downside is that the en-suite shower is a little tight but there is also a separate bathroom with bath.

We really enjoyed our short stay. The welcome touches were very thoughtful the cottage beautiful and the view was stunning.
The only mistake we did make was to visit Haworth on a Tuesday when many shops and the Bronte museum were closed for the day.
We will be back for another visit in the future.

We have had the most incredible stay at Higher Scholes Cottage. We were planning our wedding in the pandemic and didn’t know if we would be able to go abroad after for a Honeymoon. We found Higher Scholes online and thought why not. Well I would do it all again in a heart beat. The cottage is in the most romantic setting and is decorated to an incredible standard and with love. The bed is the most comfortable thing ever! The bath is a warm hug! Classic FM as a sound track to your stay. All the small personal touches and the Yorkshire Moors on your doorstep! We will be coming back.

This was our first visit to this Cottage, we were looking forward to this break. The views from the Cottage were absolutely fantastic, looking across the West Yorkshire moors. The added bonus was the Hot Tub, to come back from a nice walk up to top Withens, and get in the hot top was so relaxing. The Cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed, it was lovely and clean and very comfortable. Cath kept in contact with us via email. We didn't want to come home, we will definitely be returning soon.

What can we say other than our stay at Higher Scholes Cottage was wonderful. The cottage is in a fantastic location over looking the Bronte hills which you can enjoy from the covered hot tub. The cottage is very well equipped with everything we could need. The owners really made us feel welcome with an extra special welcome for my wife (it was her birthday) and even managed to get her some vegan chocolates. The cottage is close to Haworth and other places to visit whilst also feeling remote and private - a great combination.

This was the first time that we have been to this part of Yorkshire, so picking Higher Scoles Cottage was a bit of a gamble, however we won the lottery with this one.
Everything was absolutely perfect from when we opened the front door to the kitchen and then explored the rest of the cottage, little candles alight and a lovely smell of jasmine from the plug-in scent bottles.
We did have a small issue with, laterally speaking the on suite shower being a tad small for us larger people……..
However we would highly recommend

…. Beautiful, well equipped and luxurious cottage with the most amazing views … we had a restful and chilled few days with beautiful walks on the doorstep. From opening the oak stable door to the cottage, I couldn’t have imagined what this Pandora’s Box had in store for me. The scents of Jasmine and Lilly wafted me further inside to the tranquil sounds of waterfalls and tropical birdsong. This, alongside the ambiance of flickering candles evoked a deliciously sensory overload, which strangely made me very emotional and tearful.
My holiday here was to celebrate my 60th birthday but it felt more like a honeymoon setting. It was magical.
The cottage is spotlessly clean and has everything you could wish for and way more. Nothing has been neglected and to say the views from the hot tub are spectacular is an understatement. It’s pure HEAVEN.

After staying here on several occasions we now consider this cottage our Yorkshire home. The location is superb with great views. The accommodation is superb and immaculate. We enjoyed the hot tube everyday as well. We appreciated the additional treats like Prosecco and strawberries and also Yorkshire biscuits. Cath is a great host, always there nearby but always respecting your privacy. We recommend letting Cath order a Yorkshire tea and Ploughman's lunch far too much but absolutely delicious. Cath also emailed us to see what tog we wanted on our duvets, a great touch. We have no hesitation in saying that this is the best cottage that we have stayed in in Yorkshire and will never stay any where else. Treat yourself as I promise you you will not regret it.

We absolutely loved the cottage, it was so comfortable and warm with beautiful furnishings. The views across the valley and to the hilltops beyond were fabulous. We found good places to visit, they did involve some travel, but well worth it in spite of the narrow, bendy roads which were all part of the charm. We did a lot of walking and were glad of our proper walking boots, they were invaluable.
We loved the hot tub, so relaxing and reviving after our days out and what a view as well!
We came home feeling very relaxed and happy with lovely memories of Higher Scholes Cottage. We hope to visit again some time!

A fabulous cottage with extensive views over the West Yorkshire countryside.
The cottage is fully equipped with everything you need for a romantic self catering break for two. A chilled bottle of Prosecco was awaiting our arrival, along with strawberries and some biscuits.
There is walking from the door on numerous green lanes or marked footpaths, although some paths did just disappear !
Haworth is a short walk away (downhill and then uphill) or a £6 taxi ride. Skipton, The Yorkshire Dales and Hebden Bridge are within easy reach by car.
Overall, a lovely spot in a well cared for and well presented cottage.
We had excellent weather as well. Lovely to sit outside in the sunshine with fabulous views.

My wife and I started our 3 week UK land tour at this lovely cottage in Yorkshire. Higher Scholes is amazing! Beautiful views in a quiet peaceful setting. The host Cath is very friendly, and helpful with things to see in the area.

The cottage is superb and the views from the hot tub are stunning.
It is obvious from all the special touches around the cottage that it is a labour of love for the owners.
The welcoming ambience when you arrive, soft music playing and candles everywhere make it so special.
The wine, strawberries, chocolates and Birthday balloon show how they go the extra mile to make everyone’s stay special.
I spoke to the owner several times on the phone and she is just so lovely and friendly.

This was our second visit to Higher Scholes Cottage and we loved it just as much. We were lucky enough to be able to book to spend Christmas here.
The cottage has everything you could need, with the addition of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Personal touches such as a bottle of fizz, chocolates and strawberries just add to the fantastic experience.
The views from the hot tub are spectacular and we made a wish in the wishing well.
Cath, the owner, is always available if needed.
We would thoroughly recommend Higher Scholes Cottage to anyone who wants a 5* getaway in the heart of Brontë country.

We had a brilliant 11 days in the cottage for our honeymoon - the perfect place to chill after all that wedding excitement. It was exactly what we wanted; a secluded location (but within walking distance of a few pubs!), log fire (with regular log top ups!), outdoor hot tub and - my wife's favourite - the gorgeous roll top bath!
Cath, the owner, was great too. Good communication, rapid responses to questions and offered to receive and pack away a Sainsburys delivery, so we didn't have to go shopping when we arrived late in the evening.
We had a couple of cosy days in by the fire when it rained and visited Skipton castle, Betty's in Ilkley and a Yorkshire vineyard on better weather days. Went for some nice country walks, setting off from the cottage as well as driving out to a couple. Lots to do nearby but also a wonderful place to relax, so bring a jigsaw and some board games like we did!

Very hard to fault this cottage, hot tub, log burner (wood provided), warm, big comfy bed, hot water at all times, lovely views from all windows (farmhouse hidden away behind cottage), single cottage (so many places have multiple cottages which ruins the privacy), milk/tea/coffee provided for arrival, lots of towels. Just everything you need for a quiet, relaxing, calming break away from work and the city.
Location could only be improved if the nearest village was Haworth instead of Oakworth.
Quite expensive but definitely worth it!

You last came to stay seven years ago, and in that time our price has only gone up £100, however, you deemed to give us a low score. As I explained we have just about replaced every single time in the cottage since you last stayed, had new quality bedding twice a year and had all new towels and robes, cutlery crockery carpets rugs decorated three time, oh the list just goes on and on. We continue to invest in the cottage and want to give the guests a fabulous experience, and I feel we actually give fabulous value for money. I was recently awarded the prestigious award for the continued commitment to investing in the cottage, and of course we achieve 5 Star Gold every year. We are also very grateful for any recommendations, and look very carefully at the suggestions, and some we implement, however, moving a whole village nearer, is probably our of our capabilities.
Don't hesitate, just book it.

If anybody wants a completely relaxing comfortable stay with amazing views, you will have to search far and wide to find a better place than Higher Scholes Cottage, Cathy the owner has thought of everything and every little detail with some delightful touches,
Stargazing from the HotTub is not to be missed and Howarth is a must visit, yes it’s a bit pricey but worth it.
You will not be disappointed and we look very much forward to our next visit.

Great location, cottage facilities excellent, comfortable bed and hot tub to enjoy. Only disappointment was that 27 degrees outside meant could not try out the wood stove, need to return in the winter. A great place to return to one day.

This is a Five star cottage in the Premier Cottages brochure and it more than lived up to our expectations.
Upon arrival we were greeted in the cottage by soft music playing via the TV, lighted candles in the lounge and kitchen/diner and a bottle of prosecco and strawberries ready chilled and ready for immediate attention!
The location is peaceful and tranquil with fabulous views over the valley towards Penistone hill.
A place just to relax, particularly in the hot tub where the views are amazing.
We had good weather and were able to walk from the front door along the multitude of footpaths, even if some of them
just disappear in the fields.
A fabulous break.

We had originally booked to stay at Higher Scholes Cottage for our 10 year Wedding Anniversary in December 2020 but travel restrictions meant we had to defer to the summer, so opted to go for my Birthday instead. Before we even got to the cottage it is worth mentioning that the communication from Cath had been excellent. The cottage itself is lovely, it is spacious, inviting, well laid out and exceptionally clean. All the little attention to detail bits have been thought about, from practical staff to having good mirrors to use for getting ready to the nice elements like chocolates and wine upon arrival and everything in between. The hot tub is amazing, again really well though out, under cover but nice and open to a wonderful view. The whole break was just so relaxing, nothing was too much trouble and it was lovely and quiet, a really lovely little escape for a few days, I'd like to return at some point during the winter months as I would imagine round Christmas time it would be magical.

We've just come back from another wonderful stay at Higher Scholes Cottage in Keighley when we attended the Yorkshire Food and Drink Festival complete with The Hairy Bikers and James Martin!!! Once again our stay at the cottage was a wonderful experience. The cottage is immaculate and in the perfect location with stunning views and the addition of the 2nd bedroom is perfect as is the new stable door. Cath is the perfect host, never intruding but always on hand, going over and above to make sure that we had the perfect stay, she even emailed me a couple of days before our stay just to make sure that we had a safe journey and ask what time we would be arriving and even asked what tog duvets we wanted! She also provided lots of info about the local area, where to eat, places to visit and gave lots of info about what could be available for delivery from local suppliers even including a cocktail delivery service and things like afternoon tea, cheese boards and ploughman's platters.....little things I know but things to make a stay more special. Although we had stayed before we still had little surprises like a picture of a local Yorkshire scene on the TV, some lovely relaxing music being played on the CD, a bottle of chilled prosecco and a dish of strawberry's and 2 coins that we could throw into the wishing well. We cannot praise the accommodation highly enough and would recommend to anyone that their stay will be fantastic. We look forward to booking again. Please also do so.

Beautiful cottage so peaceful and carming.we arrived to candles lite romantic music playing and the hole cottage smelt amazing with stunning views from all Windows and stawberry and alachol drink awaiting also .it is definitely a trip I'll not forget . We had booked this cottage for our mini honeymoon then our wedding got postponed, but we still went ahead with our stay and we’re so glad we did. The cottage has a really cosy feel and everything you need for a few nights away. The outside is very peaceful, we sat out for hours on the summer chairs and occasionally dipped in the hot tub with total privacy and relaxation. Some nice country walks on the doorstep and we would really recommend eating at the Grouse pub round the corner! All in all a perfect escape from the busy city life and we would recommend a stay here to anyone!

We have recently returned from the most amazing 2 night stay at Higher Scholes Cottage and already can’t wait to return. From initial booking, up to the day or arrival, during our stay and after departing Cath was beyond helpful and everything was so easy! On arrival we were greeted with surprise birthday balloons and banners, completely unexpected we were blown away. The condition and cleanliness of the cottage was immaculate. Candles were lit, strawberries, Prosecco and chocolates were waiting for us. The little touches tipped this trip over the edge and makes it stand out! The cottage has everything you could never, very well equipped and the views are just amazing. We can’t wait to return!

Stunning views sat in a covered large hot tub watching the sun rise, or set - or at night seeing the lights across the valley. Or on the terrace with coffee and / or champagne in the sun. Or with the top half of the superbly-equipped kitchen - diner open looking across the green rural idyll over tea. It’s hard to imagine anywhere better to spend a weekend away from it all (albeit with all your needs, great wi-fi, fabulous comforts. We had 4 nights here, and from the moment we walked in, everything was just lovely. Candles lit, soft music playing, fresh flowers, prosecco, after several very stressful weeks, I just sobbed. What a start!!
The cottage was beautifully warm. The bed comfy, the smart TV all we could wish for and a great bluetooth music player that we could hook up to our own music. In these strange times, certain things were different, and we understood , but Cath made sure we had everything we needed and came to see us (on the door step of course!) after we'd settled in.
At no time did we feel nervous from Covid - many of the items in the cottage are duplicates so Cath can quarantine things between guests, and this was very reassuring.
We would highly recommend this charming cottage for a special occasion short break.

We booked Higher Scholes Cottage for our honeymoon. Unfortunately, due to covid restrictions we had to postpone the wedding at the last minute. As we had already got the cottage booked and paid for, plus needing a break from all the stress we decided to make it a little practice for the main event. It did not disappoint. Cath was amazing from start to finish. The cottage was so clean and homely, we felt very welcome. The hot tub overlooking the spectacular views was one of the main selling points for us. This was truly amazing. The whole stay felt so romantic. The little touches like the prosecco, strawberries and the pennies to make a wish just made it feel even more special. Will definitely be booking again for our proper honeymoon in 2022 (fingers crossed) highly recommended

A fantastic stay in a beautiful cottage. All the facilities you could possibly wish for, and little touches of luxury, for example a welcome bottle of fizz, hand made chocolates, strawberries and fresh flowers, to name but a few. The log burner, candles and hot tub just added to the wonderful sense of peace and relaxation, and the view from the cottage is simply stunning. Catherine was very friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. We really appreciated the extra effort she had made in line with Covid guidelines, to ensure that we still had beautiful throws, rugs and cushions which again added to the luxurious feel of the property. This was our second visit and it was even better than we had remembered. Can’t wait to return!

This is the second time we have stayed here....and it didn't disappoint! An idyllic few days away for us. Cath, the owner, has taken a great deal of thought in making a stay as comfortable as possible. Fluffy white towels and robes, Prosecco in fridge, essentials such as milk, teabags and coffee, scented candles and spotlessly clean throughout. The hot tub was so relaxing, even in the rain! We so needed a relaxing break where we had peace and quiet. We 100% got this at this beautiful cottage. We also had a romantic setting with a cottage that had EVERYTHING anyone could want for a short break. Cath is a perfect host going out of her way to ensure our experience is special. Wonderful week at HSC
Thanks Cath and family for our warm (albeit socially distanced) welcome.
What can we say about your beautiful cottage? It has everything you need and more. We used our week to rest and recover from the madness of life during the pandemic and honestly didn’t want to leave. Cozy, comfy and with all the touches to complement. All that and the hot tub to boot!!
It’s our first time in the area but we will be back, and when we do we’ll stay at HSC.
Why settle for second best?

Fantastic cottage, easy to book, lovely owner who keeps in touch throughout your stay without being "in your face", marvellous cottage, superb views, exceptionally clean and tidy, great facilities... if we could buy it we would, that's how much we love it. We go away many times to weekends away in cottages... this is the most fantastic, brilliant one we have ever stayed at. If you book a break here I promise you will not be disappointed xxx

My wife and I booked at thr cottage for our daughter and son-in-law for there silver wedding They have stayed with you before and enjoyed it so much, so maybe that answers all your questions they said it was excellent

The owner is very helpful to ensure that you enjoy your break. The cottage is situated in a lovely part of the country to enjoy lovely views throughout the day and is very peaceful and relaxing.

Second trip to H.S.C. and I can’t imagine a more relaxing place. The owner Catherine is very helpful .
The cottage is extremely secluded with long range views across the valley. There’s everything you could possibly need, (we cooked one night of the stay and ate at a local recommended pub for another).
Dragging ourselves away was difficult and we will definitely be coming back.

We had a fantastic couple of nights in this beautiful cottage, when we arrived we found it even better than In the photos. The owners are really nice people and do everything they can to make sure that you enjoy your stay. The hot tub is great to relax on after a days site seeing and walking.
Thoroughly recommended and we will visit again :-)

Beautiful location and *everything* thought of and provided for a stay. Some lovely touches and extras. Comfortable and cosy yet contemporary throughout and not cluttered. Real care taken to make it a great experience and friendly communications to make everything easy. Can’t wait to return.

What a wonderful cottage with absolutely everything you could possibly need catered for. So much to do in the area if you want to,,,, steam train rides, museums, alpaca trekking, cave visiting, walking,, just a little of what we did. The rest of the time we just enjoyed the views and tranquility. We had some wonderful stop offs in delightful, cafes and pubs etc...all very hospitable and welcoming. Wonderful experience.

Our second visit to the cottage. Absolutely love it. Very relaxing place to be. Everything you could possibly need on hand to enjoy your stay. We will definitely be visiting again. Hopefully for a longer stay next time.
