This single storey barn boasts a contemporary studio style with a spacious living area with classic large sofa, wood burner, light oak table and seating within the well-equipped kitchen area.

The cottage features a large walk in shower, wash basin and WC in the en-suite. Beautiful curtains, bedding, throws and a gorgeous antique french double bed create a romantic setting.

A charming small seated patio area with parasol and BBQ is perfect to soak up the sunshine.

After a number of disappointing holidays in cottages which fell far short of their description we found Higher Carthew Farm and finally discovered accommodation which exceeded the online description. Clean, well stocked, warm, comfortable. I’m addition Jane and Jeremy the on-site (farmhouse) owners were there providing support, assistance, tourist information, recommended pubs and restaurants, plus (best of all) free range eggs at a very competitive price.

We have stayed at Higher Carthew Farm previously and, as before, our hosts have been both welcoming and very co-operative.
With just the exception of location, which might not suit some, all other aspects are Excellent.
A lovely place to stay with excellent hosts and facilities. Thanks again

We enjoyed Cornwall so much we stayed an extra day at Foxglove Cottage. The cottage was so comfortable, spacious and well equipped, and the cream tea on arrival was delicious! I will be recommending these cottages at Higher Carthew Farm to all my friends and next time I visit, I will make sure I book Orchard View, because it has a bath!

Nice and quiet location. Clean and quiet rooms within a nicely cared for property. The scones, clotted cream and jam were a nice welcoming touch.

An early visit to Cornwall, catching up with family living close by.
A repeat visit enjoying the very high standards set by Mr & Mrs Dunstan. A warm welcome always greets you as well as delicious cream tea etc....
Everything in both the accommodation and facilities - drying room etc is Excellent. Secure bike storage too.
We've already booked our next visit.

Thanks for making us feel so welcome and comfortable.

Excellent accommodation in every respect with very friendly hosts. Plenty of supportive reading material for those not familiar with the area, with some provisions for sale via an honesty box. Fourth visit to date.

A nice quiet location in Cornwall with lots to do in the area. You see some lovely sunsets and misty mornings.

I suggested we go to Cornwall while hubby found us the perfect farm location offering self catering for couples and it was a lovely surprise to find it was just a stones throw from the area of Cornwall I had lived in during the70's.
However, while I had worked in Troon (which is really close), I wasn't familiar with Nine Maidens but I have to say it couldn't have been a better place for us to stay, far enough away from the crowds but on a main bus route, perfectly placed for both the north and south coasts and close to the Mineral trail cycling routes so when we were not cycling we were able to avoid the rain and find a beautiful sun drenched coast to explore. The nearest Tescos or Morrisons were only 5-10 minutes drive away and Jeremy and Jayne provided lots of info about where to eat if you didn't fancy cooking.
Jeremy and Jayne are wonderful hosts, very accomodating, couldn't be more helpful and provide little extras like the odd cream tea, fresh farm eggs and the use of a washing machine as well as a well stocked selection of DVDs for the occasional night in. They were always there to help and assist if you had the slightest problem so it was easy to forget this was a proper working farm and all that entails.
The accomodation provides more than enough space for two people offering bedroom, living room come kitchen (with fridge, freezer, cooker and microwave), bathroom and a lovely shower and there are seats outside your cottage, washing lines to put your clothes on, a picnic area and somewhere safe to store your bikes so I dont think they could have thought of anything more. We will certainly go back to them the next time we decide to visit Cornwall as it really was perfect.

Higher Carthew Farm is the kind of place you only dream about quiet. peaceful, beautiful and within easy reach of some of the most breath taking beaches, coves, villages and views you could hope for,
We spent 11 days there and returned home refreshed and relaxed and are looking to book for same time next year
The owners are very friendly and helpful people who make you feel welcome straight away and the little touched of scones, jam and cream left on the kitchen table as well as the just married balloon that was left for us was fantastic
Thank you for a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing stay

The owners Jane and Jeremy were absolutely lovely. The cottage (we stayed in Foxglove) was spotless, comfy sofa and big soft bed with a great shower. A good launching point to explore Cornwall (most places on north and south coasts within a 30-40 min drive). Next time I'm in Cornwall I'll be checking to see if one of these cottages is available!
