My husband is in poor health and was confined to the lodge for a lot of the time. He found it comfortable and warm. This left my son and I to walk knowing he was okay. There are a lots of walks just around the area we loved it. A week was too short but better than nothing. The journey time from door to door was ten hours with two people sharing the driving. From one end of England to Appin that is excellent. The roads are excellent all the way.
Lovely location and great modern caravan, with fabulous views and very easy access to the beach. The Creagan Inn 5-6 minutes along the road from the site is a great watering hole and eatery. The owners of the site, Jim and Julie Weir, were very friendly and welcoming and ensured that we had everything we needed. This is a great area to visit, the site being in a beautiful setting on Loch Creran, and there is also easy access to Oban and the Glencoe/Fort William area. Can't recommmend it highly enough and will very probably return for another visit for more rest and relaxation.
Superb location, plenty of space indoors and out, comfortable, Owners should check the Inventory as there was only one saucepan lid, only one casserole dish lid and the only large saucepan was non-stick, badly scored and had no lid. There was lots of cutlery and kitchen tools but most of the "sharp" knives couldn't cut butter. The freezer compartment of the fridge did not have a door so the whole fridge got much too cold even on the lowest setting. The score has been decided from above but I would give it quite a lot more than 39 - say 70.
Great setting for a caravan with stunning views and quiet location. A short walk from Creagan Inn (very good food), a 5 min drive from the Seal sanctuary (definitely worth a visit) and around 10min drive from Castle Stalker - we booked a castle tour a couple of days in advance (interesting history and stunning views) and it was one of the best experiences from our holiday. Oban is around 30min away and has some nice restaurants and the large supermarkets. Overall the caravan offered a really good base for our holiday but more importantly a peaceful setting and beautiful views to wake up to ea...more
Can't be beaten for scenic value, friendly staff and a great pub within a stone throw. Handy for Oban, Fort William, Glen Coe and a wee trip to Lismore.
The location is an absolute delight. We were lucky with two weeks of glorious sun. Watching the light change on the loch with the movement of the late night sun became almost an obsession. Picturesque. Highly recommend this website. The owners couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you.
We had a lovely weeks holiday in a cabin with a fantastic view of the loch. The owners were friendly and very helpful. A short walk down to the Creagan Arms where the food was excellent and we'll priced. The weather was good to us and we were able to sit and eat outside and watch the sun go down. We would go back again and would recommend it as a great stay.
Had a great stay here. Very spacious caravan (a little older than the other models but very comfy. Had everything we needed and more. The owners were lovely and very helpful. Beautiful spot on tbe loch - I would stay again.
We really enjoyed our 1st holiday in Scotland, the view of the loch from the window is amazing. Their is everything you could need provided in the caravan.
We spent 3 nights in the Cherry Tree Lodge and loved every minute. The location is stunning and the condition of the lodge is impeccable. Great customer service and was so impressed by the facilities both in the lodge, and also in the grounds of the holiday homes. Can't recommend this place enough! A huge thanks to Jim and Julie for allowing us to have such an awesome start to 2018. Slainte! x
Wonderfully relaxing holiday with stunning views over the loch that just made us not want to go home. Jim and Julie very helpful as always. Excellent base for walks and cycles in the area.
We had a lovely (if slightly soggy) week at Appin Holiday Homes. Our caravan was clean and fresh for our arrival. With the front windows looking out onto the grassy area our son could play happily with us able to keep an eye on him when prepareing dinner etc. But also with cracking views of the loch when sitting snugly in the corner. While the weather was, shall we say, changeable, we had good family times catching crabs, skimming stones and paddling in the loch. The grassy area was great for playing all sorts of games and cycling round. We also borrowed a set of boules from the games room...more
Booked this last minute and Appin Holidays were very accommodating and easy to deal with. Lovely clean place, beautiful views. Easy access to the whole Lorn/Appin/Barcaldine area with lots to do for all the family. Literally right next to a great eatery (Creagan Inn).
The hosts are very kind and hospitable. The cottage has much space and is well equipped with everything you need to feel good. The gardens are kept in a very good condition. Ideal for families with children. You can start a cycletour directly from here. Very good restaurants nearby. (I had the best burger in Port Appin). Unfortunatedly it is adjacent to the A828.
This site is a excellent location for walking and sightseeing with lovely views over the loch There is also a good eatery within walking distance of site which is a good place to watch the sun go down Will return
Very comfortable, well equipped. Comfy bed, best sleep in ages. Views amazing from the decking area, helped by the great weather. Family are very good hosts and very helpful. Within walking distance of an excellent restaurant/bar.
We took our two dogs on holiday, beuatiful scenery, friendly owners, lodge was great felt like a home from home.
The lodge was perfect for a couple and had wonderful views at the front. There was a veranda at the front of the lodge with modern outdoor furniture and everything was clean and in working order. The owner was very friendly and helpful. A great location for touring and walking.
