This is our 4 th year at these lodges and never been disappointed yet, Julie and Jim are always on hand to fix anything that goes wrong, and is a beautiful site and so peaceful, lots to do within distance of site and walks galore, also Lismore is only 10 minutes by ferry.
Very sad to be leaving Appin Holiday homes today after a fantastic 4 night break. The Scottish weather was a bit hit and miss but that didn’t detract from the stunning scenery viewed from the comfort of the caravan. On arriving, it was immediately clear that the caravan was immaculately clean, well equipped and very spacious and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable to sleep in. It has all the kitchen equipment that you could ever need, as well as a good size TV, DVD player and even a selection of DVDs. Having the loch just a few metres from the caravan was a dream. We spent many eve...more
We spent 7 days and I must say that was a very amazing experience.Location is great and the owners Jim & wife such lovely people. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!
We had a thoroughly good time in Appin, returning to the lodge late afternoons to sit on the balcony in the sunshine. The lodge suited our purposes but it was lacking in a few comfort areas. We had arrived ill prepared having been to a self-catering house in Perthshire the previous week where we needed to take absolutely nothing but food. Everything a home needs was provided there. Apart from a J-cloth, washing up liquid and one tea towel provided there were no extras to aid us through the week, like cling film, tin foil, kitchen towel, potato peeler, salt and pepper and such like so perha...more
Yet again a fab stay in a beautiful location. Everything you could ask for. The lodge is beautifully decorated, well equipped and very comfortable. The grounds are lovely and the location is excellent. Couldn’t ask for more. Jim and Julie couldn’t be more helpful and really make you feel welcome. Looking forward to our next stay
Amazing views over the loch, very friendly staff and just a truly amazing place.the caravans are positioned perfect for breath taking views
Arrived to find the cabin fresh and tidy. Some coffee, tea, hot chocolate, few biscuits and few milk pods were welcomed after a long journey. Would be even better if we have found a small loaf bread and some ham or eggs to welcome us too. Tastefully decorated. Quite basic but very pleasant. Any children would have found the site great to do outdoor adventure activities with a rope swing and a start of a shelter built on the edge of the woods. Would visit again even though for just 2 of us it was quite pricey.
We have stayed at Appin Holiday Homes for the last 5 years and have always had a fantastic time. The lodges and caravans are ideal for short stays and the location is excellent for trips around the West Coast of Scotland.
Our first stay at Appin Holiday Homes. A lovely little site, ideally situated for exploring this part of the world. Our week included cycling on Lismore, a cycle from the site to Benderloch (on a superb Sustrans cycle route which passes the site), walking on Kerrera, a visit to Seil Island and a visit to Fort William and Mallaig. We found Caravan F an ideal size for the two of us. Although starting to show its age, it was comfortable but some things were not working such as a light above the kitchen, the DVD player remote and the shower was very tricky to adjust in respect of tempera...more
We booked this caravan and we were a little apprehensive before we came because it is quite remote. I can honestly say it was brilliant, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area and lots of stunning places to visit. The caravan was perfect for what we needed and there is a fabulous pub just 5 minutes walk away serving great food and beer. Everybody we came across was really friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Great place, great scenery and we had a great time. Thanks very much to Jim and his family
Lovely Caravan, excellent view from Caravan, no problem carrying luggage, they supply a trolley for you. Plenty for you to see and do from that area.
We spent 3 nights in the Cherry Tree Lodge and loved every minute. The location is stunning and the condition of the lodge is impeccable. Great customer service and was so impressed by the facilities both in the lodge, and also in the grounds of the holiday homes. Can't recommend this place enough! A huge thanks to Jim and Julie for allowing us to have such an awesome start to 2018. Slainte! x
Matched our needs perfectly! We have used Appin Holiday Homes frequently and would strongly recommend them.
We had a nice stay at Appin Holiday Park. The loch-side location was very picturesque and the owners were friendly. The caravan was generally in good condition although a little dated. The only slight issue was the proximity to a busy road where you could sometimes hear traffic at night and in the mornings. Appin is in a really good spot to visit the Highlands, close to Fort William, Glencoe etc and close to Oban for taking ferries to the islands.
Back again to Appin, usual cheery welcome from Jim and Julie, they even managed to get the sun out for us, we recommend this to everyone, well sited for touring or just being lazy, Creagan Inn within walking distance for good food and drink, give it a go sometime
Our stay was fabulous. What stunning views. Excellent location. Our cabin was lovely and clean and the beds were comfy. Had a meal at the Creagan Inn. Which was super!
A great location for touring around the Scottish Highlands. Was slightly disappointed with the accommodation it was clean but it looked much nicer on the website and it smelled quite badly of damp in the bathroom and lobby part. Self check in is a good idea but that does make it loose it’s personal touch never saw the owners once which is a shame. I didn’t realise either there was a main road separating the cabins to the caravans & Loch, probably my own fault for not looking but vehicles do drive at speed along that road. It’s quite a way to the local shop for supplies so it’s best to buy...more
