Our daughter’s wedding took place at Clifford Barton and we, along with family stayed on site. We could not fault the venue, hospitality or location in any way. The owners (Vicki &Gavin) went above and beyond to make it the most amazing day. We will definitely be staying again and couldn’t recommend it more.
We had a fabulous long weekend staying in Butterdon Cottage. It was immaculate in terms of cleanliness and wonderfully furnished and presented. The back garden of the cottage was a delight and I spent a few hours relaxing in one of the sun loungers with my book and watching a wide variety of wild birds feeding there. Bliss !!
The hosts made us so welcome and we loved how peaceful our surroundings were. The scenery was incredible. Lots of awesome walks, cycle rides and great food at local pubs.
Its 5 stars from us and we hope to return soon. X
If you like camping you will just love this place. Total solitude off grid, and very comfortable. We hardly saw another person all week, the owners just left us to it. Having said that, we had a lovely personalised welcome letter with contact numbers should we have needed it. Everything was very clean with clear concise instructions, we will be back.
One tip, if you are talking more than one electronic device, take power packs.
So many lovely walks straight from the farm, and as a special September bonus we had sunshine.
Vicki and Gavin’s place is spacious and super comfortable providing everything you could want . The feeling of space and tranquility adds to the natural beauty of your surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed walking and kayaking around their private lake with its beautiful summerhouse. We cycled straight from the doorstep along the river Teign , enjoying the wild swimming at The salmon leaps ponds and the delights of The Fingle Birdge Inn. We also had a fabulous meal at The Horse pub on Vicki’s recommendation. It really is a special place .
We definitely left recharged , thank you .
