We enjoyed a week at Mardon with our two young children and found the house comfortable with all we needed. We loved walking down to the lake and watching the tadpoles and birds, and cycling through the woods along the river spotting big beetles and a slow worm. Vicki and her husband helped us get settled with bikes (our kids loved the trailer!) and recommended some local places to visit/eat at, which we really appreciated. The house was great for a family stay and it was helpful being able to have a food shop delivered. It was such an easy, relaxing week and we'd love to return!
This was our third stay at Clifford Barton. It's perfect for an extended group as we had two cottages but managed to fit everyone around the large dining table in Bridesmere for dinner. The two huge sofas in the lounge area are comfy and great for socialising, while the large dining table also makes board and card games for lots of people possible. The bedrooms are nicely furnished with plenty of space and comfy beds. We also enjoyed the hot tub as a treat one evening, enjoying spectacular stargazing in the dark skies of this remote location.
