Higher Wiscombe is near The Jurassic Coastline in East Devon. There are three cottages, two sleep six, one sleeps twenty and all bedrooms are ensuite. There is a pool in summer, a games room and 52 acres for guests to wander and explore. Very private location, dogs and children welcome.
This was a beautiful house located in a lovely setting in the countryside.
You do need a car to get anywhere, including the most local pub as it's a lengthy walk but it's a great base to explore the local pretty villages and towns.
Lovely communal areas for a family or group of friends and really comfortable beds - all with en suite bathrooms.
It's difficult to find a spot that is so perfect. Off the beaten track but handy to all local facilities and places to visit. Everything matched what we were looking for - ensuites for each room. - plenty of inside and outside entertaining space and welcoming and helpful hosts
What a beautiful, comfortable and well thought out property. Feels like home from home. After hiring all Higher Wiscombe properties for a weekend away with family, to celebrate a wedding, I can honestly say these properties are faultless. The views are breath taking, situated in the calm of the country side, a stone throw away from the busier life of seaside towns. The kitchen and ensuites are super functional and beautifully designed, the beds are large and comfortable and the show stopper of a glass wall makes this particular cottage so light and beautiful. Highly recommend!
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Higher Wiscombe for a special birthday. We hired all properties as we were a party of 30 plus dogs. We had been some years ago before the extension in the Winery. The extension has made the property even more spacious and you really felt there was enough room for everyone across the properties. The houses are well equipped and all very clean.
Lorna and Alistair really do make the experience perfect and cannot do enough to help. From the point of booking to during our stay they helped with any questions or recommendations we asked for prior to arrival ...more
