We were extremely fortunate to be the first guests at Plas Gwyrch Gatehouse, so everything was in pristine condition. Our family of four adults, three children and two dogs had a great time. There was plenty of space for us to spread out and find peace when we needed to, and good-sized communal areas to be together. Our hosts Barry and Caroline are lovely people who were very amenable and responsive when required. Highly recommended.
Myself, my family and our dog spent a week in Beech Dreams and it was fantastic. The property was beautifully decorated and furnished. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. We wanted to explore the area so it was very well positioned to visit Snowdon (1 hour away), Betws-y-Coed (30 mins away), a few minutes drive from Llandudno & Conwy and a 20 minute walk from Deganwy where we did a lovely coastal walk. We would definitely re-visit.
Beautiful 3 bed apartment, all with en-suite, that is enormous! We stayed as family of 4 with Grandpa and enough room for us all to spread out. Equipped so well it has everything in the kitchen just like home! In great location by the sea, train line at end of very large garden you hardly notice and trains do not run at night. A few things we noticed were broken in flat, but lovely owner downstairs attended to these matters. Only niggle is the 2 car parking spaces provided are very small and only allow you to use 1 car at a time if you visit with 2 SUV’s like we did, as one car blocks in the o...more
Owner very helpful, plenty if room for our group. Two bathrooms/showers really helpful. We had two cars and although tight got them into the designated area. Fantastic views, lots of extras provided for a really enjoyable stay.
The house is in an excellent location, just a short walk from the village centre with excellent views from the balcony. We were lucky with the weather so enjoyed some beautiful sunsets during our stay. Upon arrival, we had to spend a few hours cleaning as various areas were grubby... Glasses were dirty (we put them all through the dishwasher - we wiped down the shelf where the glasses were kept and the cloth came back brown), there were food crumbs in drawers, placemats had food splatters on them, sticky spills and mucky paw prints in various places on the floor, build up of cobwebs and dus...more
Gem of a find . This beautiful tastefully renovated property set in a lovely location with fantastic views . Accommodation was well specified with everything we needed and more . Welcome pack was a lovely start to our holiday .
Don't miss the gem of a town that is Criccieth. A very well sited and comfortable terraced cottage. Cosy and well equipped. Our fifth year staying there, says it all.
This cottage was ideal for us. We loved the venue with the art gallery and cafe next door. It was quiet and the owners were at hand only if the need arose. The cottage itself is well equipped and the decor and furniture was to our taste. We loved the art work on the walls. We would book the cottage again when staying in North Wales.
Unbelievable location, views money can’t buy, gardens that must have come from Eden, on the doorstep of some of the best towns in Wales, beyond perfection, Hosts were beautiful people and nothing was too much trouble, we will be back soon might even drop by for another cup of tea.
Excellent place to stay. Rain or shine plenty of places to visit. Will definitely book cottage again.
Great facilities in an excellent cottage, perfect getaway. The owner was very helpful. I would thoroughly recommend the cottage.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Retreat. We looked for somewhere where we could switch off and just relax after not having a break for nearly 2 years. The Retreat is a lovely place to stay. It has everything two people and a dog need and is very clean and comfortable. It really feels like a home from home. It’s a welcoming place due to Beth being such a accommodating host. We really appreciated the delicious cake and fresh eggs. The views and setting are perfect. It is set next to Beth’s beautiful home, with wildlife all around you and the scenery goes on forever. We had days out at th...more
We stayed here for 5 days for our wedding anniversary. The location is perfect for local walks, amenities and getting to more distant places by car. The cottage is very cosy, clean and generally a lovely place to come back to after a day out in the fresh air. There are some lovely restaurants and pubs a stone's throw away from the cottage. Overall would definitely recommend.
Had a wonderful stay house was spot on great base to see local area would reccomend it Garden secure for the dogs Views front and back fantastic
My wife & I both agree that this 3rd floor apartment with it's amazing views and ideal location make this the perfect value-for-money holiday home in North Wales. No 69 has simply amazing views from both the living room and bedroom over the Conwy estuary, looking upriver to and beyond Conwy Castle, and out to sea (over the golf links) to Angelsey and the setting sun. Just sitting and looking out beats any TV programme on offer!! The location is just as good: Conwy and the Castle are an easy walk away (20 mins?), and the trains to Llandudno are frequent and cheap. Or - as we did - you can wal...more
The owners of the cottage are amazing, really helpful and friendly. The location is superb, close to all the natural attractions. The gallery and coffee shop are a must; tastefully done and a great place to relax. The grounds are equally beautiful. The cottage itself is really nicely done with all the comfort you need. I would say this is the most beautiful cottage I have been in for a very long time. The only problem was that the kitchen and downstairs (apart from the bathroom) were too cold as the radiators in those areas did not get warm enough. We reported this to the owners and I am su...more
We stayed for one week, 4 adults, 3 teens and 2 dogs. Plenty of room and close to centre of town, within driving distance of plenty of activities such as canyoning, zip wire and fishing. Conway itself was gorgeous with a beautiful harbour and interesting shops. The house had a lovely view of the castle from the decking at the front of the house. Lots of dog friendly pubs and restaurants too.
Great place and location.Conwy is a beautiful place and the cottage is ideal...location wise and parking which is great. I would highly recommend and will be back.
See improvements to the stay at the cottage. Comfortable especially with the woodburning fire. Very spacious.
Ty Newydd provided a very comfortable, welcome break from every day life and the chance to step back to a digital free age. Although WiFi access is available, we decided to ditch the mobiles and enjoy long walks, wild swimming, home cooking and a “Wasgij”. A perfect holiday. Highly recommended.
Our third stay at Estuary View and probably the best, thanks to the kind Welsh September weather. By far the best-located UK flat we've ever stayed in and, because of the wonderful views from the lounge window - definitely our favourite. Great restaurants/eateries within walking distance, lovely walks along the seafront and fantastically rewarding views from the top of the Vardre. Can recommend the Paysanne Bistro, Jai-Ho Indian restaurant and the Archway fish and chip shop in Conwy. Sue's beach hut along the prom towards Llandudno proved very handy for ice-creams. Had wonderful trips to Conwy...more
This was a lovely stay in a great location. It was good to be able to walk into Beaumaris day or night. The cottage was cosy and clean. We do think that despite covid regulations there could have been more facilities in the cottage. As there were 6 of us it would have been good to have 6 dining chairs. The cooking equipment was quite sparse if you were cooking meals every night. Little things like serving spoons and dishes, colanders and jugs, more toilet rolls and spare bulbs as some of the lights were not working.
We had a good week staying in Sea View cottage. The accommodation was small but perfectly adequate for our stay as a family of two adults and one child. The cottage was well equipped and the welcome goods on arrival were much appreciated. The parking was a little bit challenging as limited space but saying that we did always manage to get a space. The cottage was very well situated within the town and only a short walk from all it had to offer. It was also well located for exploring the wider area. Overall a very pleasant week.
Comfortable and great for a large family Best bits were the huge dining table and bar and three huge bedrooms well equipped kitchen and very helpful caretaker and the en-suite facilities with the large bedrooms. Less good was the fourth bedroom and those windows that don’t close easily and the shared back garden. We were lucky to have a week of blue sky and sunshine and the Hall worked very well for us. Thanks to all at Great Escapes.
The cottage is beautiful and in an amazing location very rural so if you like peace and quiet it is idea The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. However the double bed was extremely uncomfortable and does need replacing. The sitting area was far from comfortable. It really could do with new furniture. The owner is now aware of both these issues so I am sure both will be rectified asap Just a little tweaking and this cottage could and would be so amazing.
We had a good stay however we spent half a day cleaning the place, the oven was dirty, we had to hover the debris from the base and de grease the oven, this looked like it had never been cleaned in months. Cob webs had to be hovered and when we arrived the external bins were completely full and were not emptied during our stay. No working light bulbs in the lamps or any spares on hand for us to change them. The upstairs shower control would not work, this has been reported to the site contact. The property was realy nice and in a great location but was let down by the lack of care and attenti...more
The location was absolute brilliant, however the property is very dated and tired looking. We didn’t sit in the living room as there was a musty smell and the chairs were not comfortable and broken in parts. The bedrooms were dusty as were the other rooms. There was far too much personal belongings of the owner in the house … it didn’t feel like a holiday rental.
