The Stables is part of a stunning barn conversion in an idyllic setting, full of character, with under-floor heating, en-suite bathrooms, and bespoke kitchen.

Outside are many footpaths for the enthusiastic walker and for those who do not wish to venture too far, there is a duck pond less than a stone’s throw away.

We stayed here as it was very close to where a family member was getting married and it was recommended by them.
The Stables was spacious and perfect for the 6 of us. The view was beautiful. My husband was delighted that there was an EV charging point for his car.
All was very clean and well equipped. The pre stay contact information was detailed and comprehensive and included a phone call to make sure we knew everything before we arrived.
Sally apologised for the muddy driveway but it is a working farm and I think it would be a bit much to expect it to be pristine especially during a harvest! We come from a semi-rural area so are quite used to mud.
We had a very pleasant visit and would be happy to return for a longer stay.

We stayed as part of a large group attending a wedding nearby. The house is clean, well appointed and comfortable. The location is beautiful and very peaceful. We enjoyed using the hot tub especially with the view. Would recommend. Many thanks.

Sally was a great host. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed as we were attending a wedding at Dewsall Court. My elderly disabled parents were with us and the downstairs room was ideal for them. The surroundings of the house are so peaceful you can’t help but relax and the hot tub is a massive added bonus. The house has everything you need for a fantastic stay. We will be back

A wonderful stay with friends. We clearly enjoy it there as it’s our 4th time . Very comfortable and clean. A great base to visit the area. A downstairs double bedroom with en-suite facility suitable for disabled guest. Beautiful views . Can’t wait to go back .

We had a sublime weekend stay at The Stables for a wedding at Dewsall court. The Stables is perfectly kitted out with everything you need, the beds are the comfiest and the showers are perfect pressure and temperature. And the hot tub! Perfectly situated in a beautiful spot in the English countryside. We hope to come back soon!

We booked all the accommodation for our wedding at Dewsall Court and stayed there ourselves either side of the wedding. All our guests who stayed at Monkhall commented on how stunning the properties and settings are, and we can’t argue with them. Gorgeous spacious cottages with all you can need. We used the hot tub and had a barbecue. A fantastic week! The hosts were lovely! Thank you so much! We will definitely be back!

Nothing short of the perfect getaway spot - driveable from london, beautiful sunsets over the farm, lovely pubs and quick 10 min drive to hereford for groceries. Sally and her family were an absolute stars and we had no issues with having a group of 11 lads for a (slightly older) stag do. We booked the Granary and the Stables and was a perfect fit. The Stables hot tub went down a treat! Will be telling everyone about this gem!

Our stay at Monkhall Cottages (The Stables) in Hereford was absolutely delightful! The cottage itself was simply beautiful and impeccably clean, making for a comfortable stay. Situated in a fantastic location, it was just a stone's throw away from town, yet surrounded by breathtaking views.

The convenience of being close to town while still enjoying the serenity of the countryside was truly unbeatable. It was the perfect base for visiting family nearby, and the peaceful atmosphere allowed for a truly relaxing getaway.

The warm welcome from the hosts made me feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Their hospitality was second to none, and their attention to detail ensured that every aspect of my stay was enjoyable.

I would highly recommend Monkhall Cottages to anyone. Whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat or a convenient location for exploring the area, this charming Barn is sure to exceed your expectations. A five-star experience all around!

A very pleasant week's stay at The Stables, comfortable with good views, some good places to visit nearby and lucky with the weather, cold but mostly dry. The hot tub was good and it was great to have electric car charging included in the price. As it was a winter visit it would have been good to have some curtains/blinds on the back and front door windows. If visiting Symond's Yat East for a walk, would recommend The Saracens Head pub for Sunday lunch - delicious.

What a great place to stay! The 7 of us including, an elderly grandmother, thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The location was perfect for getting to and from Dewsall Court so easy. The kitchen facilities were amazing. We loved the hot tub and jumped in and out even though it was a typical October weekend.
The only cause for complaint were that we found the bed mattresses hard and rather uncomfortable. Other than that we had a great time.
Thank you to Sally and Mike for developing such a beautiful cottage in which to relax and stay.

We booked the Granary & the Stables for a family holiday. The properties are joined to each other & share the same large expanse of enclosed lawn area, which is perfect for ball games. The Stables also has a large hot tub, which is perfect at any time but particularly for star gazing. Although only 4 miles from the City of Hereford, you really do feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere with lovely views across the fields to the Black Mountains.
Both cottages are well presented, comfortable, very well equipped & very roomy. There were eleven of us & we could all sit comfortably around the enormous extending table in The Stables.
Mike, Sally & Oliver are friendly & super responsive hosts to any need you may have but otherwise you would hardly know they were there.
Perfect for a getaway at any time of year.

Excellent location and views. The Stables was fabulous, just expect a few high cobwebs but well stocked, very roomy and exceedingly comfortable, although for us the beds were too hard. Hot tub was brilliant and very private (no one in the property next door) and great for stargazing. Easy to find and great access to all the amenities and facilities Herefordshire has to offer, overall a great break.

5 ladies were booked into the property for birthday celebrations. We had a fantastic stay with everything catered for. The hot tub outside was superb and the location and views were amazing. There were plenty of walks around and it was lovely to see all the wildlife but if you want any pubs or shops they are a car ride away. We had all the facilities we needed and super friendly and accommodating hosts.

We were expecting The Stables to be 5-star accommodation and although it was nice, it definitely wasn't that. The cleaning had only been performed to a superficial degree - there was someone else's false eyelash stuck to the vanity unit and both the bag I popped under the bed and a book lost under the sofa came out covered in dust bunnies! The centre piece of our weekend was supposed to be a lovely family lunch in the garden on Sunday but in the middle of our meal the gardener materialised and noisily began strimming the garden around us - we eventually had to ask him to stop and he grumbled and stomped off muttering something about a party the following day! The house was rather on the hot side but when I opened the windows to let some air in the noise of the nearby farming equipment running through the night was so loud we couldn't sleep. We chose The Stables because of its proximity to the venue for a wedding we were attending - and it was very close - but for the money we spent I had hoped for a slightly better experience. I'm afraid to say: we won't be rushing back.

The stables is in a wonderfully rural location to unwind. It is quiet and peaceful. It was fantastic watching wildlife from the patio. The views are unbelievable. We were also lucky enough to experience stunning sunsets. The Stables is spacious, exceptionally clean, well equipped and comfortable. The owners were lovely checking in to make sure all was well. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. The Stables is highly recommended, we will be returning.

A wonderfully positioned property seemingly in the middle of no where but excellently positioned not far from Hereford. Plenty to do for all the family and a welcoming hot tub for relaxation. Perfect for a family of 5 using the bedrooms upstairs, and grandparents using the bedroom downstairs.

From the moment we got to the stables it felt like home .The Stables was a gorgeous beautiful building inside the layout was perfect everything you needed for your stay was provided .
The hot tub was an absolute treat and the view while in it was breath taking if your looking for peace and tranquility you will find it here.
The owners and there family and staff were extremely friendly and helpful couldnt ask for better service .
There are lots of places to visit and everything is near .

What a beautiful venue. Every detail was well thought through and made our stay very comfortable. The downstairs bedroom with en-suite wet room is ideal for anyone with mobility issues. A beautiful spacious converted barn close to the main farm house set in acres of beautiful countryside.
Everything you could wish for was available for a relaxing stay including a hot tub on the patio.
You can almost see Dewsall Court from the accommodation, so ideally placed for if you have a wedding there. Easily walkable up the drive to the venue in the summer but not a good idea in February when it’s dark.
We would throughly recommend the property and wouldn’t hesitate booking again if we were visiting the area or had another wedding.

We go and stay at both the cottages every year and have done for years. Just love Sally the owner so helpful and friendly and if we have any problems she sorts them out straight away. The cottages are comfortable and provide everything we need for a fantastic weekend stay.

The Stables is a charming building which has been tastefully renovated in a modern way, and has all the mod cons you'd expect from a home from home. It's spacious, and the views are of the surrounding farmland are amazing. The hot tub is a real bonus, and certainly makes for a great way to relax at the end of a day of exploring in Herefordshire. Was a great venue for a family holiday, but would work just as well for a group of friends.

The Stables is a superb accommodation set in idyllic surroundings. Very well equipped cottage with amazing views and access to the Herefordshire countryside. Our stay at Monkhall Cottages was exactly what we were looking for - a peaceful country escape with incredible facilities and so much to do in the surrounding areas. The garden particularly was fantastic, with a dining area and hot tub with views all the way to the Brecon beacons. Hereford is an easy 10 minute drive with a big Tesco with everything you need - but far enough away for rural bliss. The stables were immaculate, comfortable and felt like a home away from home. We'll be back!

The Stables provided the setting for a memorable long weekend after a long year in lockdown. A fabulous location close to Hereford which gave the chance to re-visit some places my husband knew as a child and even though Hereford's key attractions were still closed, a walk down the river and through the city centre provided a great opportunity to view the Cathedral, the Black and White House and sample some amazing food from the market stalls.
We were warmly welcomed into the accommodation by the owners and the facilities were great. It is a lovely spacious place with plenty of room to spread out and relax. The hot tub proved to be a winner and the family used it a lot. It was particularly impressive as the sun went down and when the skies cleared the view of the stars was just amazing. We were even treated to the sight of a string of more than 50 of Elon Musk's Starlink satellites passing overhead which was something we would never have seen with the light pollution where we live in London.
We used the recommendations for local shopping and farm produce and had some spectacular steaks cooked on the barbeque along with some Hereford cider.

Everything about the Stables is 5 star. Beautiful spacious accommodation, lovely peaceful setting, fantastic hot tub and the warmest welcome.
All the little extras from a well equipped kitchen to hotel quality towels, fun doorstops and excellent wifi make this a very special place to spend a few days.
Sally and Mike are so hospitable and we really appreciated a replacement microwave on a Sunday afternoon.

We enjoyed a really relaxing Mid-Week Break in this lovely Property,
It is called the Stables for Obvious reasons, but in reality it is a very well furnished and beautiful Home away from Home,
The Place was very Clean and had everything we wanted for our stay, and the Hot Tub was a Great way to De-Stress,
The owner Sally is a very cheery and pleasant Lady, very helpful without being intrusive, a perfect combination in my eyes,

Hereford is very close and had everything we needed for nice meals out, Shopping etc,

We had a lovely 4 night stay at the stables. The property is furnished to a very high standard, with lots of space and the kitchen area is well equipped. One of the best cottages we have stayed in. We enjoy the hot tub and spending time in the garden. Sally (the host) was very friendly. We enjoyed a walk around the farm and watching the farmers working in the field in the evening. The site is very peaceful, located 25 minutes from Symonds Yat, some local pubs and their are lots of castle ruins to visit. We would highly recommend the accommodation.

After lockdown this place was like a little piece of heaven. It was perfect in every way. Scenery , comfort , Luxury, every detail provided for and beautifully presented. A real gem .

I marked down slightly as I’m a cleaning freak and there were only a few cobwebs as would be expected from the countryside and an old building . I love all creatures so not an issue for me. It was cleaned to a good standard and property maintained to an excellent level . Stars, beautiful sunsets , the views , watching the rabbits All this from an amazing hot tub . Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

With two elderly mums we needed somewhere with a downstairs bedroom and no steps and the ability to have a bathroom each (possible as we didn't require the single room). In truth, the stairs were a bit awkward for the one with upstairs bedroom due to turn but we coped. They loved the location and peacefulness as did we... we also appreciated the hot tub! Having been lucky enough to 'test drive' a few over the years, this was definitely our 'Rolls Royce' moment!
Conversion has been done very nicely and The Stables is very well equipped. Owners very helpful and friendly.
Great area to get out and about and go exploring. Would happily book again.

What an amazing place! From the moment we arrived The Stables is just wow. We were a group of 5 ladies wanting a weekend away to relax with a hot tub thrown in. The hosts son could not have been more helpful & friendly, making us feel at home straightaway.
