Welcome to our collection of five star self catering luxury Dorset cottages; four of which boast stunning locations on the UNESCO world heritage Jurassic Coast, close to the pretty village of Abbotsbury and one nestled in the picturesque village of Melbury Osmond, deep in Hardy's Wessex. All our cottages have WiFi, flat screen TVs, dishwashers, range cookers, American fridge/freezers, Tassimo machines, washing machines, tumble dryers, private off road parking, private gardens and very comfortable beds with high quality Egyptian cotton sheets and goose feather and down duvets and pillows. We also welcome dogs, by arrangement.
The house and location are wonderful, everything well thought out. Only two suggestions:- a wok and another large saucepan and frying pan for the number of people being catered for and a swivel or spray attachment on the kitchen sink would make it easier to clean. Apart from that, we had a great time and have booked again for next year.
Barn was well appointed and tastefully decorated. There were some minor issues with cleanliness and TV reception but overall we loved the barn and would stay again. Unfortunately we stayed during a particularly wet week thanks to Storm Dennis but managed to see a lot of the area without getting too wet and it was always nice to come back to a cosy Barn.
We added an extra day to our week and loved the grain store. Sufficiently in the countryside but near enough to main roads for good connections. A lovely place to stay, very clean and comfortable. It had the Largest of the 3 gardens for our dog and there are plenty of walks nearby. Walk up the Hill to the ridge and the views are spectacular.
The large hamper was a lovely bonus.
I just wish it had that log burner to finish it off.
Can’t wait to come back again.
This is our second stay with Dorset Luxury Cottages and was equally as enjoyable as our first. The house is kitted out very well; the bedrooms are a good size and well finished; the garden is a good safe space for children and the living spaces downstairs are first rate.
However, the standout for this property is the location; the short walk up the hill provides a simply stunning view. It is well connected via the coastal road. We would definitely stay again.
Very nice property and well equipped. Only drawback was that we had to have the heating on most of the time to keep the place warm. I don't think the heating was working that well when we were there end October - as the radiators did not seem to get that warm.
But this did not spoil a lovely week there although the owners may want to look at this.
