We booked this accommodation because of the connemarathon en stayed here with two young children. After a long nightly journey from Dublin, the arrival was warm with home-made bread, wine and a filled refridgerator. The location was perfect in the middle of the centre. One, minor, detail could be the heating/cooling systems on the roof which might prevent you from opening the window during the night), however we did not find it very disturbing.
Great week with the family in Wave Bay Cottage. Would highly recommend. Close to lovely beaches and great food close by in Keogh’s.
A most relaxing place to while away the day with views to soothe and make you smile. The house was very well equipped and Bernie very welcoming. Thank you Stella, Alan & Betty
Our three-generation family of ten booked Pooreen House for two weeks in August, 2017. We couldn’t have been more pleased! The house sits on a slight rise above the surrounding hillside, with an expansive view across Galway Bay to the Aran Islands, the Burren, and the County Clare coast as far south as the cliffs of Moher. The owner met us on arrival to give a tour of the house, demonstrating appliances, electrical and heating systems. Throughout our stay, he was kind and attentive, though unobtrusive. First impressions: house and furnishings immaculate, and impeccably maintained. Lar...more
Absolutely fabulous house in a great location. Completely equipped, beautifully furnished, gorgeous gatrdens. really felt like one was staying in a luxury country house hotel.
Fabulous property in an excellent location in the heart of Clifden. Travelling with a baby, we had everything we needed in the property, it was spacious, clean and with all the amenities. Also had a very warm welcome from Pearl who was so kind to leave us some basic treats to start us off like homemade bread, butter milk and water which was greatly appreciated after our long journey. Highly recommend this property.
We enjoyed a super time at Seascape. The property is stunning with views to die for. Its close to Clifden but you have a great sense of being in the country - next stop America! Everything about the house was of a very high standard and all of the bedrooms we extremely comfortable. Thanks again. Philip.
On arrival we received a warm welcome from the very friendly & helpful owners of this lovely cottage. It was spotlessly clean & exceptionally well equipped. We loved staying at the cottage as it was truly a home from home, very cosy & comfortable. The views from the sunroom are amazing & the position of the cottage near the beach is wonderful. We enjoyed the seafood restaurants in nearby Clifden. Would certainly recommend Turbot Cottage and hope to return next year.
We love Mweenish, the house is great (very spacious and confortable) and the owners are very nice... We will return!
Had a lovely week at Foregloss Cottage which was very comfortable and well equipped for our family of 6 adults and 2 one-year olds. Aggie was very helpful even providing an extra cot and highchair which was wonderful. We did lots of touring and good eating in a lovely area of Galway. The shop in Ballyconneley was useful for quick shop and Clifden was only 15mins away for bigger shops. Hope to come back again soon.
We really enjoyed our stay, the house is fully equipped with everything you could need including baby equipment. Beautiful setting very close to the beach will definitely book again.
Perfect location for outdoor activities and the house met all our needs, very well kitted out kitchen, large utility room is great for changing after walking back from the nearby beach. Overall a great house for family or small group and very comfortable.
My family and I stayed in the house for a month and it had everything we needed for our extended holiday. The house is spotlessly clean and updated. Location couldn’t be better...just a very short walk to shops, pubs/ restaurants and grocery stores. Everything was easy from booking to check out. Loved our time here!
Family of 8 including grandparents had a wonderful week in Clifden staying in this great house It had everything we could have wished for with plenty of space for all Very near the town but yet private and peaceful
This is a lovely peaceful place to stay....furnishing and decor first class so beautifully laid out! Bed rooms very comforatble and conducive to a good night sleep. Excellent roomy showers to wake you up for the next day's adventure. Kitchen well equipped and we enjoyed our relaxing breakfasts each morning plus all other meal that we chose to cook in for ourselves. Our trips out to explore the exquisite area of Connemara provided us with lovely cuisine in the various cafes restaurants and pubs that we visited. Thanks for all the leaflets/ brochures provided for our explorations. Pearse's Cot...more
A fantastic little hideaway about 3.5 km from Cleggan Village overlooking the bay. Perfect for couples looking to enjoy some down time with beautiful views on your doorstep. The owners of the apartment live next door but you will not be disturbed, although they are very willing to help if you need any assistance. Only a short drive from Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park, Clifden and Omey Island to name but a few. We stayed for 7 days and could easily have stayed 7 more! Would definitely recommend.
Amazing stay in beautiful accommodation. We are a family of 8, 6 adults and two young children 5 & 7. The accommodation was absolutely perfect, something for everyone, games room for the men, games for the girls, beautiful garden for the children with tree house. Living accommodation superb, couldn't fault anything, every last detail been accommodated. Comfort amazing, huge kitchen diner, and huge lounge. The hosts Marie & Joe were so so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them, and of course 'Lady' the dog was the center of attraction with the girls.
We, a group of 7 adults, had a wonderful stay in Capolla House. Spacious, comfortable holiday home within walking distance of Clifden. We were warmly welcomed by the owners (with delicious scones). Cosy kitchen diner, well equipped and spotless. 5 bedrooms, 4 of which ensuite and 1 with private bathroom. Lovely lounge and sunroom. One of the best holiday homes we ever stayed in. Contact with Connemara Lettings was very pleasant. Good information on house and local area.
Delighted with our stay. Geraldine was a lovely host and very kind to our little boy as was her son. He loved seeing the chickens, horse and cow! The location is great as was the view of over to Inisboffin - especially the sunsets! We were very lucky with the weather and took advantage of the nearby beaches. Overall it was a great break and we would thoroughly recommend the house and the peaceful locality! thank you!
Bríd was a lovely host and we had a beautiful stay. A perfect remote location with great views and all the self catering facilities required. Great wet room!
Our family loved our week in this house. The location is supurb, with fantastic walks on the beach. Quiet location with no disturbances but a close drive to shops and villages. House itself is very clean and comfortable, kitchen is very well equipped.
Fabulous stay location was amazing beautiful white Sand beach and crystal clear water ! Highly recommend amazing stay thank You !
Highly recommend this for anyone with disabilities, all on one level ramp into rear door walk in shower in main bedroom with no base unit, perfect for anyone in a wheelchair. Peat burning fires an enormous kitchen area with panoramic window to that view. Arrived to home cooked scones and was gifted a home baked loaf a few days later. My mother summed it up saying the only thing that was wrong was the time it was to short, thanks for a lovely stay Gordon
Large well located apartment in town centre. All was perfect during our stay except for showers which have way too low water pressure .
Our stay at Derryinver House was wonderful. The views of the water were beautiful and could be seen from many places throughout the house. We enjoyed our short walk up to the village center and around the surrounding area. Marie and Charlie were always available to answer any questions we had. Thank you for the lovely accommodations.
The location of E2 appartmemt was ideal, the appartmemt itself was very clean and all of us staying there said we would go back again. Connemara lettings were very helpful when I was dealing with them and I would use them again if booking in that area.
Lovely apartment great location, Very clean, everything in the apartment you would need, Good staff to deal with on the phone easy to book.
Lovely clean house . Breathe taking views from front door. Pity we couldn't catch any fish all week but the walks n pub nearby made up for it.
Great location, comfortable house and ideal with 2 small children , very well equipped with everything we needed , would use it again .
Superb spacious comfortable clean peaceful house. Great outlook onto lake. Good base to explore Connemara and get away from it all. 19km to Clifden 9km to Roundstone 1km to nearest shop and bar Highly recommended.
Everything was lovely - perhaps a bit more decor to warm up the rooms would be nice, but they are brand new, so perhaps it's still early days! The only complaint we had was that we were given the wrong eircode and got lost on the way. Wifi doesn't work either. But that wasn't a problem. Thanks, Faye
Swims before breakfast, long walks along the beaches, football and golf with the young ones on the common area, fishing if you're into it...no need to drive the car unless extra supplies needed! Couldn't have loved it more. Super accommodation. Cosy and in the most perfect location. Thanks for everything!
Had a fantastic stay at the Uplands, fab house the views were brilliant couldnt ask for more ......
would recommend this lovely bungalow for families. Owners were helpful and location was good. Tiled floors noisy so would suggest some felt stickers under furniture!
Our apartment was central with 5 min (by car) access to fab beaches, the apartment was large and comfortable for our party of 4 adults and 4 kids. Looking forward to returning
We really enjoyed our stay in Sea Studio, the location is great and Kathleen was an excellent host, we spent a week there and hope to return again.
Disappointed that most of the saucepans did not work on the induction hob and the pots that did work were of poor quality. Kitchen missing s number of items including orange squeezer. Houses were really nicely decorated and very clean, would return again but will need to bring a tumble dryer and pots and pans.
Can't wait to make another family vacation to Clifden. I will hopefully be able to book our trip based on the honey suckle lodge availability. It was a fabulous home away from home for our family. Warm and cozy and lots of space. Made our trip even more pleasant.
Excellent location, beautiful house and very well-appointed A couple of helpful suggestions 1. Could be signposted with name of house at the turn-off 2. The fishermen who use the jetty could be encouraged to keep the area a bit cleaner (eg. get rid of rotten fish and smell and disintegrating plastic fishing nets)
We liked Helen's Hideaway so much that this is already our second visit. The apartment is spacious with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so ideal for 2 couples or a family. It's got everything you need including lots of lovely fluffy towels and luxurious bedding. But what makes this property so special is the location. It's tucked away on the ground floor of a large house, with views over the estuary. Whether you are sitting enjoying the sun on the terrace (which in theory is possible the whole day but it is Ireland) or relaxing in the apartment, it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere when ...more
Very beautiful property with lovely space and access to the town. Walkable to Clifden all modern equipment. Lovely and brigth.
We a group of 5 adults stayed in this property in Clifden. We found the location excellent. The lounge plus kitchen is open plan. The kitchen was modern,well-equipped.The lounge combined with the kitchen was exceptionally clean, bright, comfortable and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The Wifi was excellent. We found there was a welcome pack there comprising milk, fruit etc when we arrived. This was greatly appreciated as we had come a long distance and after we had unpacked were able to have a cup of tea.Yvonne and her staff were most efficient, welcoming and approachable and we would like to...more
The property is ideally situated for accessing all that is good about the Connemara Coast with Clifden with its bars and shops within easy striking distance. Ceannabhan Cottage was up for sale during our visit yet retained every comfort for an enjoyable stay.
Good location Grainne was very helpful House great Good video collection wifi excellent Beds comfortable
The White Thorn House was easy to find on the Bog Road outside Clifden. The accommodation was excellent and it was very good having two ensuite shower rooms ! Martin had kindly left a starting supply of milk, tea and shortbread -- thanks !! We didn't have any children with us but we were all parents and agreed that the upstairs room would have been brilliant to keep children happy. It was fun watching the cows wandering around outside and had the weather been better we would have enjoyed the patio with table and chairs . We would definitely visit the White Thorn House again.
The extended family came here to visit local friends and enjoy Connemara. The house was spotlessly clean and so comfortable like a home from home The views of the water and the ponies everyday was absolutely stunning
We stayed here for a week with my family and our two small dogs and the house was perfect for all our needs - a very comfortable open space, inside & out. The dogs loved the outside space. Brilliant spot, a few minutes walk from the centre of Clifden.
Lovely old house in a fantastic location. Literally one minute walk from centre of village but really quiet. House has everything you need and the most comfortable beds ever! Lovely sunny patio area. Would happily stay there again. So much to see and do around Clifden too.
This is a really nice, modern and comfortable house, with lots of space outside and in. The location is very quiet, with stunning views, but at the same time only about a mile or so from Clifton. We really enjoyed our stay here
This apartment is in an excellent location, close to all amenities, good access and secure parking. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and quite spacious with the added bonus of a small balcony. The complex itself was very quiet but unfortunately, the water system in the apartment was extremely noisy. Every-time we switched on a tap, shower or flushed the toilet, the pump in the airing cupboard activated, reverberating around the entire apartment which was extremely annoying. It was so loud, we could not use the water if people were in bed. This is the only negative but we would not ret...more
All I can say is wow a home away from home couldn't recommend it enough there was 5 of us my husband son mother in law and father in law fab house not to far from all ammenities and we are going back next year a little gem just 5 mins outside clifden Carole cudnt do enough thank you so much we had a fab holiday xx
My family (7 in total) stayed for 3 weeks in this charming apartment. Gerry lives nearby and was very attentive to our needs and getting us settled in. It is quite spacious and the outdoor deck was an added bonus for enjoying tea. We parked on the street and had very little problem finding a spot. The grocery shop across the street was very convenient and the entire town is just a very pleasant place. All of the treasures of Connemara are easy to get to in short day trips.
We came again - this says it all.... Great house, friendly caretaker. Especially Great für families.
Excellent location and great value for money. Near a lot of beautiful beaches and scenery. Highly recommended.
A great house for families .The garden is an added bonus for the Summer evenings . We will definitely be back.
A very comfortable and stylish apartment right in the center of Clifden, this apartment is well outfitted and pleasant.
Aunty Bo’s is beautifully situated and enjoys stunning views of the nearby lake which and is very close to Clifden . The house is clean and spacious , the decor and furnishing are somewhat tired though but it is well equipped . Only gripe would be that the gas and electric charges are separate tariffs to the rental cost which itself was not cheap .
Beautiful house in stunning location. Dot very friendly and helpful, keeps the house spotless. Main criticism is of lack of basic utensils in kitchen such as serving bowls, milk jug, butter dish, cooking dishes as well as pots without lids. Lack of basic items such as condiments, tea bags, toilet rolls. These are not expensive items to provide. It is just seems kind of mean and takes from the overall experience.
Very comfortable, well appointed, perfect for our family group of 7. Great location. Friendly and helpuf staff at letting agency, no hesitation booking it again and will recommend it to friends
As always our stay in Jimmy Ridge's cottage was wonderful. He is a most gracious and helpful host. The situation of his house suits us beautifully, off the main road, and within walking distance of beaches...….some of us enjoy a swim before breakfast.
Just back from a week at Clifden Glen. Excellent location and very clean house. All mod cons except for washing machine, but we only stayed for 1 week so this was okay. Definitely would stay again.
First of all I thought the property was named Barrastaile. I hadn’t heard of Killarney Vista. Whatever the name though, the property was amazing. Olive, the lovely host, met us and showed us around her lovely home. She had even left us some little cakes to welcome us. The house itself was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy. The Kitchen was large and fully equipped. The lounge room was furnished with Comfy furniture and an open fire and the best part a fabulous panoramic view. Also the bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. Although we didn’t use it there was a very large bath in anoth...more
Fantastic place to stay. But for off peak end of September it was bit expensive. We paid 700€ for 4 nights.
House is in a great location with a great view. It is spacious and the outside garage is very useful for storage. It is warm and cosy and the kitchen is a good size. There are a few items in the house that I'd describe as old fashioned.
We enjoyed our stay at this spacious house, which is well set up for a large family group. For the three of us it also worked very well. We especially enjoyed the sunroom with lovely views of the bay and the surrounding grasslands. Even on a blustery day and with the winds howling it is a cosy place to be. The beds were comfortable and there is plenty of storage in the master bedrooms. Loved having a view of the bay from the bed... Our host was most helpful in getting us set up. We could not get the Wi-Fi dongle (buy credit) to work, but Sweeneys pub is nearby. For most of our dinners we w...more
A really pleasant experience, a fantastic base to explore the beautiful Connemara countryside.Highly recommend.
The cottage was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The owner ensured a warm welcome on our arrival and the cottage proved to be in a great location about a 5 minute walk from the bus and local shops and pubs and a 10 minute walk from the beach and pier which were very pretty. There are some great local pubs often with live music. Galway is fairly close and accessible by bus and Connemara is on your doorstep. We would highly recommend a stay in the cottage.
very nice, close to all amenities perfect for group weekends away, the rooms are spacious, kept very clean, it has what you want in terms or facilities, highly reconmend it
Great location, excellent accommodation, very spacious home, very welcoming landlady. We would highly recommend Molly's Cottage.
The family celebrated my mother's 90th birthday with a weekend stay in Murlach Lodge. It was a fantastic venue with plenty of room for everyone and lots of space to hang around in the house. Would recommend it for a family gathering!
This is a great apartment. Location in centre of Clifden. Very spacious and well equipped. Perfect for large group as all bedrooms ensuite. Would recommend.
There were eight in our party four of whom had not been to Connemara before. But for myself ,and three others, we were returning to the area after staying in Ballyconeely in 1979. Lots of things had changed so much but the scenery was just as beautiful and we had very good weather. Grace's Cottage offered us a lovely retreat to return to. It was comfortable and well equipped and we all enjoyed our stay. One little thing was that although it slept eight, the seating provided in the lounge and kitchen was only geared to six but we managed to improvise. Thank you for a relaxing ...more
Lucy was very accommodating on our arrival. It's the perfect spot to rent with a group of friends with Clifden and it's local amenities close by. Some nice beaches not too far away too. Great value for money, extremely spacious and comfy house.
Cosy cottage in a great location. Convenient for touring the Connemara area. Enjoyed walks over to Omey Island at low tide.
House had everything required for a comfy relaxed holiday and the welcome pack was a lovely touch on arrival.
Glenbricken is superbly located 5 km from Clifden, overlooking a wonderful landscape of pastures, lakes and mountains. The owners are welcoming and always willing to help. The kitchen might have some more appliances, cutlery and the like to make it perfect.
Lakeview Cottage is a delightful cottage in a beautiful location. Agnes was an excellent host with the proporty in top condition.
The attention and care from the staff at the station house from check in to check out was just exceptional. The apartment was more like a house than an apartment there was one bedroom downstairs and two located upstairs. It was very spacious and safe, I've a 14 month old who was in her element exploring the place. Would highly recommend this great for families
Lovely house, spacious but cozy. Great for large family vacations, four good sized bathrooms and large bedrooms, all very well finished. Great kitchen and utility, huge garden. Lovely beach 600 m down the road, town 600 m the other way or a short drive. We loved the downstairs bathroom and bathrooms for the grandparents. Hosts extremely helpful and friendly.
Good location but a little grubby and the hot water a little cool. Owner very nice and does his best to respond quickly.
There were several minor issues which added together caused some frustration. The wi fi was disconnected for 2 days and then was hit and miss for the rest of the week so I gave up. The TV has 3 channels!! RTE1, RTE+1 and some awful american channel so that is pretty poor, whats the point of having cable tv with a total of 3 very limited channels. The world cup was on and I watched it on my laptop. There are 2 CD players neither of whom worked. The lighting in the kitchen was woeful and my wife had to go round with a stepladder on the first night replacing several bulbs that weren't working. Ut...more
Spacious apartment in central Clifden easy for all the shops and pubs and for the Sky Road! The underground parking was very useful .
Great spot to stay. Very accessible to Clifden, Roundstone area yet far enough away to be restful. Scenery from front of cottage fabulous. Kitchen well equipped and clean. 2nd bedroom a little musty, bed not very comfy, but it is an old cottage. Plenty of space outside for children to play. Nice patio area with sunny aspect, if the weather is good. Would return.
Thanks for a lovely stay at your apartment. Clifden is a great place to use as a base to visit the area!
Such a beautiful location. Perfect size house for a wonderful family holiday. Excellent customer service from the owner. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return.
The house is is a beautiful remote location but close enough to small shops and amenities. Rooms are all large and very comfortable. Great kitchen, all you need, great fireplaces that use turf. We understand it is remote but there is no wifi and the option to use the payable dongle is not great. It took 20euro and within 1 hour of very light browsing the 20euro ran out. Don't waste your money on the dongle. Go to the cafe instead. The hosts are excellent. We had a great holiday. We would love to come back,
We enjoyed a wonderful week in Pauls house on the Sky Road. The house is fantastically spacious and is well equipped. We were a small bit disappointed that the house was a bit musty when we arrived but after leaving the doors and windows open for an hour ( and dashing into clifden to spend way too much on fancy candles from Whistlestop) all was well. Another small setback was that the downstairs bedroom was not made up and we didn't have sheets for that bed so we were squeezed into the upstairs room. However, the utterly magnificent setting glossed over any difficulties we had so that we ...more
It was a privilege to stay in this historic building and the location was excellent. Some minor things - there was a shortage of tea cups for the size of the group staying and I had to purchase my own and parking outside the house was very difficult - particularly when having to reverse out onto the street outside. Overall it was a good experience.
The house is very nice but we have some points: i.e. There is no toilet for general use and maybe some nice chairs for outside would be nice.
Lovely location with stunning views. Whilst the property was a bit dated it was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for 2 families with children. Martha the owner was lovely- welcoming and helpful. Fantastic stay in a beautiful part of Ireland.
Very beautiful cottage, very well located, magnificent view and very quite. The cottage is lovely, and the owner helpful when we needed ( we had a problem with the shower).
We know this part of the west coast very well and love it. The Cottage is very homely and clean and the views are beautiful. For us the bedrooms were too small, we were a party of 5 adults, one room has three bunk beds in it! The master bedroom is small too. I think it would be better suited to a family with small children. We have rented many different cottages in the area and felt this was expensive in relation to others, paying a premium for the location I guess. But we did very much enjoy our stay.
The house was in an amazing location with lovely sea views and really quiet and peaceful. Our hostess was welcoming and helpful. There were many positives including the lovely garden with swings, and the front part of the house with deep window recesses. However, there were a few problems with the property. It's an old house which is mostly well maintained with a utility area with washer and dryer. While the kitchen was well equipped, the door of the gas oven had a broken seal which could have been easily fixed. There didn't seem to be facilities for recycling of waste as the owner collected...more
