We have been going to Connemara for a number of years and this is without doubt the best house we have stayed in. The layout and standard of the house is top classt, it is like a home away from home. The location is excellent, between Clifden and Letterfrack. The views from the house, and the deck at the back are stunning - water and Connemara National Park. The owners are a pleasure to deal with, courteous and caring. I would highly recommend this house.
Our three-generation family of ten booked Pooreen House for two weeks in August, 2017. We couldn’t have been more pleased! The house sits on a slight rise above the surrounding hillside, with an expansive view across Galway Bay to the Aran Islands, the Burren, and the County Clare coast as far south as the cliffs of Moher. The owner met us on arrival to give a tour of the house, demonstrating appliances, electrical and heating systems. Throughout our stay, he was kind and attentive, though unobtrusive. First impressions: house and furnishings immaculate, and impeccably maintained. Lar...more
Our stay at Ocean View was wonderful ! This cottage is immaculate , comfortable , well equipped and has an awesome view of fields , the sea, and a little town below . Our hosts accomodated us on short notice and were most welcoming . We enjoyed every minute we were there ... it was even difficult to leave in the morning to go exploring ! There is a great deal to enjoy around Connemara and Ocean View is the perfect place to call "home " while in the area !
The house had for good sized bedrooms, a big kitchen and a good sized comfortable living room with a great stove! The property is exactly 2KM from the village of Ballyconneely (we measured it) so a nice walk or a quick drive, but also has that lovely West of Ireland remoteness.
We stayed in this apartment during the Clifden Arts Festival and everything about the apartment was excellent. Location was great, as we were in walking distance of everything. The apartment was spotless, the kitchen was very well equipped and the beds were so comfy, made our stay in Clifden very enjoyable. Would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment.
We couldn’t have ask for more, the views were amazing and the house was stunning and so comfortable.
We booked this accommodation because of the connemarathon en stayed here with two young children. After a long nightly journey from Dublin, the arrival was warm with home-made bread, wine and a filled refridgerator. The location was perfect in the middle of the centre. One, minor, detail could be the heating/cooling systems on the roof which might prevent you from opening the window during the night), however we did not find it very disturbing.
A most relaxing place to while away the day with views to soothe and make you smile. The house was very well equipped and Bernie very welcoming. Thank you Stella, Alan & Betty
We enjoyed a super time at Seascape. The property is stunning with views to die for. Its close to Clifden but you have a great sense of being in the country - next stop America! Everything about the house was of a very high standard and all of the bedrooms we extremely comfortable. Thanks again. Philip.
Great view, comfortable spaces with good furniture and beds, facilities in kitchen and bathroom are excellent. super clean. Owner is very friendly. Good base to discover connemara. We enjoyed our stay very much.
On arrival we received a warm welcome from the very friendly & helpful owners of this lovely cottage. It was spotlessly clean & exceptionally well equipped. We loved staying at the cottage as it was truly a home from home, very cosy & comfortable. The views from the sunroom are amazing & the position of the cottage near the beach is wonderful. We enjoyed the seafood restaurants in nearby Clifden. Would certainly recommend Turbot Cottage and hope to return next year.
I highly recommend this Town House to stay in.We a family of 5 had a wonderful time while there. The house was perfectly located in order to explore both Clifden itself(cultural events, beautiful shops, fine dining, traditional music etc) as well as Connemara. Both Yvonne and Robbie were most welcoming and helpful in every way and very thoughtfully had left a welcome pack of convenience groceries, milk, bread etc. This was greatly appreciated as we had travelled a long journey. All information was available to us in relation to current Clifden events as well as outdoor activities,sightseeing,walk...more
Perfect location for outdoor activities and the house met all our needs, very well kitted out kitchen, large utility room is great for changing after walking back from the nearby beach. Overall a great house for family or small group and very comfortable.
My family and I stayed in the house for a month and it had everything we needed for our extended holiday. The house is spotlessly clean and updated. Location couldn’t be better...just a very short walk to shops, pubs/ restaurants and grocery stores. Everything was easy from booking to check out. Loved our time here!
Dooneen is a fabulous rental home. It is spotlessly clean and provides all the comforts of home. It is akin to staying in someone's home (which it is) as opposed to staying in a holiday rental. Every aspect of the house has been well designed and there is plenty of space to relax and unwind. The facilities are outstanding and the quality of the furnishings is first class. The views of Clifden and the surrounding countryside are wonderful.
Amazing stay in beautiful accommodation. We are a family of 8, 6 adults and two young children 5 & 7. The accommodation was absolutely perfect, something for everyone, games room for the men, games for the girls, beautiful garden for the children with tree house. Living accommodation superb, couldn't fault anything, every last detail been accommodated. Comfort amazing, huge kitchen diner, and huge lounge. The hosts Marie & Joe were so so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them, and of course 'Lady' the dog was the center of attraction with the girls.
Delighted with our stay. Geraldine was a lovely host and very kind to our little boy as was her son. He loved seeing the chickens, horse and cow! The location is great as was the view of over to Inisboffin - especially the sunsets! We were very lucky with the weather and took advantage of the nearby beaches. Overall it was a great break and we would thoroughly recommend the house and the peaceful locality! thank you!
Spent a lovely week in this very well equipped and comfortable house. Amazing views and fabulous walks.
My family of 6 stayed at E2 Station House. The house was very clean warm and plenty of space. We had unlimited use of the station house swimming pool which the kids loved. Samantha was really helpful and efficient. Location was perfect - walking to all shops and leisure centre and pubs. I would definitely stay here again.
Fabulous stay location was amazing beautiful white Sand beach and crystal clear water ! Highly recommend amazing stay thank You !
Large well located apartment in town centre. All was perfect during our stay except for showers which have way too low water pressure .
Our stay at Derryinver House was wonderful. The views of the water were beautiful and could be seen from many places throughout the house. We enjoyed our short walk up to the village center and around the surrounding area. Marie and Charlie were always available to answer any questions we had. Thank you for the lovely accommodations.
Nous avons simplement regretté l’absence de Mme Flaherty pour cause de vacances, tout le reste était parfait
Dear Yvonne and Connemara Lettings team, we just returned home and the wonderful memories have not yet quite faded. Thank you VERY much for the "last minute" booking, the perfect stay, your kindness and the smooth transactions. We were quite happy to stay at 14 Clifden Glen and would always recommend it to other Clifden visitors, especially when travelling in a party of more people and with children. Thumbs up – in our case, that would make 12 of them ;-)
Great location, comfortable house and ideal with 2 small children , very well equipped with everything we needed , would use it again .
Swims before breakfast, long walks along the beaches, football and golf with the young ones on the common area, fishing if you're into it...no need to drive the car unless extra supplies needed! Couldn't have loved it more. Super accommodation. Cosy and in the most perfect location. Thanks for everything!
This house is superb, it's in excellent condition, is brightly lit, well equipped and has a lovely view bearing in mind that the area is quite rugged. We had an excellent time staying here and even if it gets a little chill, the heating system has the house toasty in minutes. It's beautifully furnished, very comfortable and stocked with plenty of useful household items to make our stay enjoyable. It's a very short drive to reach Spiddal but you can walk it in 30 minutes too and get a taxi back although expect to give the taxi driver directions. Take care on the road leading up to it as it's na...more
Had a wonderful few days here. Such a fantastic location with the most beautiful views imaginable. Very close to Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park, Clifden. Apartment is perfect for a couple with a small child..
We had two couples booked in as two double beds were listed. However, upon arrival we discovered that the two beds were practically in the same room, which meant one couple had to share a single bed. Which was passible considering we were only there for one night. And for the amount of money paid I felt that this was very poor. Practically €200 for a single bed. Otherwise we loved the cottage, the location and overall it was a great place to stay.
Owners very friendly, helpful and made us feel entirely welcome. We particularly appreciated the provisions "in situ" on the evening of arrival. The house was well equipped and comfortable. Plenty of hot water for our large party. Do ask for advice on how to use vacuum cleaner. Children friendly property and location. Memorable week enjoyed by all ages. Property fully delivered what it said on the tin.
The apartment is very comfortable. A home away from home. Very spacious with all mod cons in the centre of the village. I would highly recommend.
Disappointed that most of the saucepans did not work on the induction hob and the pots that did work were of poor quality. Kitchen missing s number of items including orange squeezer. Houses were really nicely decorated and very clean, would return again but will need to bring a tumble dryer and pots and pans.
We visited the cottage with our son,his wife and three boys --age 10,9 and 1. The cottage was very comfortable and the accomodation was spacious and we were able to all enjoy the week together living there. The introduction book was easy to follow and we knew how everything worked and we were all pleased to have wifi. We were also delighted to have a stair gate as the little one would have spent all his time trying to climb the stairs ! The garden outside was great and the bigger boys had plenty of room to play football and run around. They were pleased to have horses in the field behind and...more
We liked Helen's Hideaway so much that this is already our second visit. The apartment is spacious with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so ideal for 2 couples or a family. It's got everything you need including lots of lovely fluffy towels and luxurious bedding. But what makes this property so special is the location. It's tucked away on the ground floor of a large house, with views over the estuary. Whether you are sitting enjoying the sun on the terrace (which in theory is possible the whole day but it is Ireland) or relaxing in the apartment, it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere when ...more
The Guinness House was more than we expected. It had everything we needed and it was perfect for our family.
house is large with large bedrooms and other communal areas. 2 bathrooms plus three bedrooms with shower and one more shower room upstairs. lovely views from all bedrooms, and rooms downstairs. The dining area is suitable for 10+ people and the table extends to accommodate that number. (I contacted the owner to ask if it would seat 10 people and they said another table could be moved in but, as it turned out, there is no need once the central 'leaf' has been used.) The kitchen was 'tatty round the edges' but serviceable with trim coming off cupboards etc. The pots/pans/cutlery/glasses etc are ...more
Very comfortable big house with plenty room and very friendly within walking distance of town, big rooms, warm.
Good location Grainne was very helpful House great Good video collection wifi excellent Beds comfortable
Aunty Bo's was a great house- so much space and really well equipped. We were a party of 4 adults and 5 kids staying for the week and the house worked really well for everyone. It's also very quiet so everyone managed to sleep well- no squeaky floor boards!! The location is great with lovely views and plenty of room in the garden. We would definitely like to have a repeat visit!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Atlantic View Lodge. The property is in excellent condition throughout and also perfectly located for a family holiday in Connemara.
The extended family came here to visit local friends and enjoy Connemara. The house was spotlessly clean and so comfortable like a home from home The views of the water and the ponies everyday was absolutely stunning
Hi loved staying here we come every year. My only negative was the noise of the water tank every time you used the sinks or flushed the loo it was very loud refilling. Otherwise it’s a great place to stay. Great if they could get the pass for the leisure centre !
Lovely old house in a fantastic location. Literally one minute walk from centre of village but really quiet. House has everything you need and the most comfortable beds ever! Lovely sunny patio area. Would happily stay there again. So much to see and do around Clifden too.
This is a really nice, modern and comfortable house, with lots of space outside and in. The location is very quiet, with stunning views, but at the same time only about a mile or so from Clifton. We really enjoyed our stay here
We found Whitethorn excellent value...Ideal family location ..only 3 miles from Cliften...house in great condition..very clean...our host was very helpful and hands on if we needed anything...highly recommended.
The house at coral strand is at a excellent location . The house was very clean and there was loads of room for our children to play outside.
We came again - this says it all.... Great house, friendly caretaker. Especially Great für families.
Absolutely perfect location with lots of space. House was kitted out to perfection. Lovely house Clean and comfortable Great location Extremely helpful landlady
Lovely townhouse in central Clifden. Great location for a nice break in a beautiful part of Ireland.
The property is in a great location with easy access to the Town Square and the local restaurants and bars, as well as the beech and the famous "Sky Road". The local Supermarket is across the road, bank next door, and a short stroll to the playground in the event that children are part of your group. The apartment has all the facilities you require, and is impeccably clean. I will enquire about its availability the minute I secure by holiday dates next summer. An all round fantastic apartment.
Some basic equipment needs updating*. WiFI is frustrating as it is an extension from main house and depends who is using it or how many persons are on it.Garbage/ bin collection needs more explanation. It would be helpful if there was a quick 'lady bird' information on very local beaches and how to get there, pubs* shops- might be helpful to foreign visitors? This is a very comfortable house. * descale kettle *a new ( Dyson , Hoover) needed- just to clean up!
The location is magnificent, the house is excellent, clean, modern and very comfortable. The deposit to be paid is not convenient as there is no ATM for 12 miles. The key collection information and contact telephone no is 2 years out of date. We a lady pointed this out during our stay last year. The cleaning and gas electric charges are excessive and there is no coherent or ecological way to dispose of recyclable waste or kitchen waste.
First of all I thought the property was named Barrastaile. I hadn’t heard of Killarney Vista. Whatever the name though, the property was amazing. Olive, the lovely host, met us and showed us around her lovely home. She had even left us some little cakes to welcome us. The house itself was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy. The Kitchen was large and fully equipped. The lounge room was furnished with Comfy furniture and an open fire and the best part a fabulous panoramic view. Also the bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. Although we didn’t use it there was a very large bath in anoth...more
Dolan Cottage was an excellent house to stay in. It was very clean, all necessary household equipment was present and made our stay very comfortable. It was a warm, cosy house with excellent views. The owner, Jimmy Ridge, was very welcoming, he met us and brought us to the house and showed us around. He returned on the day we were leaving to thank us for renting his house. The house was centered between Roundstone village and Clifden. The beaches were fabulous, the food in local restaurants, Mitchell's in Clifden and the bakery, Walsh's in Clifden was gorgeous. Local people were very friendly...more
Loved the location and the house. Will almost certainly return to same place. Only downside is 1 bathroom for larger groups sharing is difficult. Also one bed is a queen size - cramped for 2 adults. Otherwise best location I've ever stayed in!!!
very nice, close to all amenities perfect for group weekends away, the rooms are spacious, kept very clean, it has what you want in terms or facilities, highly reconmend it
The cottage was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The owner ensured a warm welcome on our arrival and the cottage proved to be in a great location about a 5 minute walk from the bus and local shops and pubs and a 10 minute walk from the beach and pier which were very pretty. There are some great local pubs often with live music. Galway is fairly close and accessible by bus and Connemara is on your doorstep. We would highly recommend a stay in the cottage.
We really enjoyed our stay at Grace's Cottage. The house itself is in a fantastic location - a perched position looking out on Connemara National Park - fabulous unspoilt views. It's also close to the ferry to Inishboffin, which we made use of. It's a quiet remote rural location, which is a drive to the nearest shops or towns (4-5 km to Clifden or Letterfrack), but that suited us. The nearest beach (Ross Beach) was a 15-20 minute walk down quiet country roads with plenty to distract kids along the way - ponies, wild flowers, etc. The quiet roads are also perfect for an early morning ru...more
This is a great wee spot central to all shops bars and restaurants this is the second time I have stay here the only complaint I have is the tv needs updated only can get 3 channels on it and a roller blind needs put on window on upstairs bedroom no certain on at the moment don't let these few things put you off booking this place I will be booking it again next year
The family celebrated my mother's 90th birthday with a weekend stay in Murlach Lodge. It was a fantastic venue with plenty of room for everyone and lots of space to hang around in the house. Would recommend it for a family gathering!
Le cottage est idéalement situé.Nous avons adoré la vue,et les propriétaires sont adorables.Cependant il manque beaucoup de vaisselles et de quoi faire à manger.
This is a great apartment. Location in centre of Clifden. Very spacious and well equipped. Perfect for large group as all bedrooms ensuite. Would recommend.
Nice location, quiet and house was well equipped with all the essentials. Twin beds may need replacing as they squeaked a lot.
Lovely, cozy comfortable cottage. Really enjoyed our 4 night break with our 2 children & will absolutely return.
Lucy was very accommodating on our arrival. It's the perfect spot to rent with a group of friends with Clifden and it's local amenities close by. Some nice beaches not too far away too. Great value for money, extremely spacious and comfy house.
We were happy with this house. Unfortunately the frying pans were not compatible with the induction hob and the owner didn't rectify this. Clothes horse was broken but this was replaced. Modern and clean and comfortable, great location for beaches. It would be great if the property had a dryer. I'd recommend staying here.
The property is in a great location. The house itself is in reasonable condition however the sofa needs replacing or cleaning. It was stained and not clean. The rest of the property is in good repair. The addition of outside furniture would help people enjoy the great views.
The attention and care from the staff at the station house from check in to check out was just exceptional. The apartment was more like a house than an apartment there was one bedroom downstairs and two located upstairs. It was very spacious and safe, I've a 14 month old who was in her element exploring the place. Would highly recommend this great for families
Glenbricken is superbly located 5 km from Clifden, overlooking a wonderful landscape of pastures, lakes and mountains. The owners are welcoming and always willing to help. The kitchen might have some more appliances, cutlery and the like to make it perfect.
Lovely place with very welcoming surroundings. Few minutes from the supermarkets, restaurants and shops of Clifden. Interesting idea that customers have to pay for their own electricity and Internet even which a rather high per night charge. Really enjoyed the stay, but will consider the cost next time.
The apartments are clean, bright and well maintained. Very comfortable beds and kitchen very well equipped. So easy to deal with the professional team at Connemara lettings, they make booking and the stay so easy with their high levels of customer care. Great location and parking nearby. Highly recommend
Loved this place great location spotless clean very well equipped would come again. Felt very safe and secure
3 day recent stay with family at Benshask. The house is spacious, clean and very well equipped and we were delighted that there were even some bikes available for use!. Unfortunately when we stayed there was a problem with the hot water and we had none for first 24 hours - although the agent was quick to respond, this was disappointing. The house is conveniently located close to Ballyconneely which is only a short drive from Clifden/Roundstone. Keogh's bar is good for food and the nearby beaches are incredibly beautiful.
Great spot to stay. Very accessible to Clifden, Roundstone area yet far enough away to be restful. Scenery from front of cottage fabulous. Kitchen well equipped and clean. 2nd bedroom a little musty, bed not very comfy, but it is an old cottage. Plenty of space outside for children to play. Nice patio area with sunny aspect, if the weather is good. Would return.
Our stay got off to a farcical beginning. The property is not called Cleggan Beach House - it's Rossadillask House - and the map extract provided proved to be wildly misleading so we ended up some way away looking for the wrong house. When we eventually tracked it down the front door key would not operate the lock without a great deal of wrestling. This proved to be true also of the back door key, and so for the whole week we left at least one door unlocked so that we could be sure of getting back in. Things improved once we were installed as the house is massive, generally well equipped and i...more
Lovely location with stunning views. Whilst the property was a bit dated it was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for 2 families with children. Martha the owner was lovely- welcoming and helpful. Fantastic stay in a beautiful part of Ireland.
Overall I was very happy with the house. However there is a huge problem with damp in the downstairs bedrooms that should be addressed as this is causing the rooms to smell and inscets to appear. The damp is also rising up the main inner wall of the house which is also causing the upstairs rooms and wardrobes to smell. Also wifi should not be advertised as it hardly works even when the credit is added.
House is as pictured, generally bright, spacious, nice views, very comfortable beds and couches etc. Plenty of good towels, Fantastic location, walk to beach or village etc., central for longer outings around Connemara. Generally quite clean, but we had to wipe down kitchen worktops, drawers etc and there was a really greasy worktop grill that we took one look at then put in a drawer out of our sight. A few small things would make it really 5 star and help justify the price: enough toilet rolls; a welcome pack; a few good quality board games etc.; more serving bowls, jugs, food containers et...more
Coast guard cottages are ideal for a relaxing week by the sea. Great beach close by and close to golf club and other nice beaches.
Great location, good sized garden, comfortable beds. No wifi, DVD player doesn't play certain DVDs.
We know this part of the west coast very well and love it. The Cottage is very homely and clean and the views are beautiful. For us the bedrooms were too small, we were a party of 5 adults, one room has three bunk beds in it! The master bedroom is small too. I think it would be better suited to a family with small children. We have rented many different cottages in the area and felt this was expensive in relation to others, paying a premium for the location I guess. But we did very much enjoy our stay.
