Definitely a luxury rental. The flat was very clean and very well equipped, and we felt well looked after throughout our stay. The sea view is gorgeous. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and easy to use. Thick and thirsty bath towels were provided, and the beds and linens were superb. We slept better than at home. TV and internet connections were easy and good. We were looking for outdoor activities, and there were plenty for our two week stay. The grounds of the estate are absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Highly recommend!
The house was great - warm, welcoming and really well appointed. Lots of thoughtful touches and it felt like home straight away. Thank you to our host who was brilliant and proactive - setting things up for our kids and checking in with us. Thanks again!
Our third visit and not the last. The focus estate is lovely Arts and Crafts influenced house that wears its history well - the East Wing had lovely ceiling and character furniture and views down to Largs and over to Cumbrea - once we had unpacked we sat down in the sitt room and experienced a genuine moment of peace and relaxation. Rare. All the facilities and equipment one might need, an emphasis on recycling and splendid but unobtrusive hosts. Loads of stuff to do - not least a ferry to Rothesay and Mount Stuart - a spectacular way to spend money made from hewing coal. Glasgow is a train ri...more
