Tranquil Otter never stops being a great place to stay. We stayed in the Dunnock, which is perfect and cosy. Spotlessly clean, with everything you need and so peaceful. We met the friendly birds, ducks and swans and Nick, who’s the owner popped by to say hello, which was lovely.
We’ll be back next year! Fabulous place to stay. Love it!

Lovely lodge and so relaxing. Very private and comfortable. We really enjoyed walking around the lough and local area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

We had a fantastic stay , Dunnock lodge was immaculate , had everything we needed for a lovely relaxing weekend , the hot tub was amazing and the robes were an added bonus as it was cold when getting out the tub ,
We will definitely be back and would highly recommend it to friends and family.

We had a wonderful long weekend in Dunnock Lodge. The weather was lovely and the walk around the Lough was a fantastic way to start each day. The accomodation was perfect for guests with mobility issues. The welcome pack was much appreciated as well as the the little pack for the dog. So very thoughtful. We'll definitely be back and have already highly recommended to friends.

Lovely setting and privacy in a wooded area with a beautiful lake and garden back drop.
The facilities are fantastic with lovely clean beds and great showers etc.
The kitchen is perfect with all the essentials so simply bring want you want to cook up and you can have the stay to build some lovely memories.

we booked this lodge as it was accessible. The bathroom was excellent and entry in and out of the lodge. Sitting looking at the loch watching the amazing wildlife was perfect.

The woods are beautiful and a great place for an after dinner walk. Well appointed kitchen and plenty of utensils.

So quiet and relaxing and just the place for a perfect break reading and enjoying the lovely countryside.

The cabin was really nice, spacious, comfy and toasty warm with the log fire. Great setting in amongst the tree with fantastic views out over the loch. The hot tub was great and we all enjoyed feeding the ducks. Was amazed by the amount of wildlife, so many birds, a hedgehog, frog, newts, damsel flies and dragonflies, oh and we also seen the bats. Just brilliant! We loved going out on the boat and walking through the woods around the loch. So excited to find the bird hide. We will definitely be back!

We had a fantastic stay at Dunnock Lodge. From the moment we arrived, everything was first class. The lodge was warm, cosy, and spotlessly clean – the perfect place to unwind. The beds were extremely comfortable, making for a great night’s sleep.

There was a small issue with a wasp nest when we arrived, but it was dealt with swiftly and professionally as soon as we reported it, which we really appreciated.

One of the highlights of our stay was using the recommended private chef service from Eden Catering – just brilliant! The food and service were exceptional and made our time even more special.

The hot tub was lovely – we didn’t use it as much as we’d have liked due to the weather, but when we did, it was a real treat.

This is my third visit to The Tranquil Otter, this time to celebrate my sister's 75th birthday. As ever, the lodge was beautifully presented and the hot tub lovely and warm. As her first visit to the site, my sister is now already planning her next visit as she was completely taken aback at the facilities provided together with the stunning location. We both very much look forward to visiting again.....soon!

We had a wonderful weekend in Dunnock Lodge, celebrating my husband’s 40th birthday. It was so peaceful and quiet (no mean feat with three children and a dog), everyone was immediately relaxed. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise, especially the treats for our dog! We enjoyed a morning row out onto the Lough, a walk through the woodland to the bird hide, a dip in the hot tub and some much needed R&R away from the Christmas madness. The lodge had everything we needed to cook up a birthday feast and was super cosy on an evening. Thank you so much for a gorgeous weekend, we’d love to return.

Second time staying here very tranquil. Lodge was very clean comfy beds. Kitchen has everything you need and the little welcome basket and extras were good. I do think it is a little overpriced especially when you add on the hot tub cost and the security deposit I know you get it back but you still have to pay it upfront some places the security deposit just stays pending in your bank app then disappears at end of stay if everything is ok. I would come back with friends as we can split the cost it was a relaxing stay.

Absolute bliss, we didn’t hear a thing , was great to be back in touch with nature and to get away from the hustle of city life.
The lodge was more than accommodating.
The highlight for me was chilling in the flat bottom boat and gliding across the lake.
We are returning next year.

We booked 6 days at the Tranquil Otter staying in the Dunnock lodge. It was just the peaceful and relaxing break we were looking for. The lodge was perfect for us, it was very clean and cozy and the location was idyllic. We loved the surrounding wildlife and even had a swan sharing our lawn! We are looking to visit again and would recommend this to anyone who loves peace and quiet and being close to nature.

So, this was our 3rd visit in 3 months (and stay No. 78), but just one night this time.

The weather was absolutely incredible …… sitting in the hot tub, with the sun beating down, and a fabulous view over the Lough - what more could you wish for? Delicious BBQ followed (night off cooking for me ) washed down with a bottle of Prosecco

Sunday morning, I enjoyed an orange juice in the hot tub and then cooked breakfast, which we ate outside with a swan, and some ducks, watching on!

I am the main carer for my 88 year old father, who lives with us, and these visits to our ‘happy place’ keep us sane.
