We've stayed at the Tranquil Otter many times and always loved it. This time was no exception. Great to stay in the new Kingfisher lodge,with all the usual amazing TO touches. Fantastic lakeside setting and views,peaceful,perfect, with a chance see Swans up close.A great addition to the Lodges. We had a lovely stay and hope to return soon.
Booked three nights in Egret Lodge for my wife's birthday and it was absolutely perfect! The lodge is very spacious, well kitted out, clean and extremely comfortable to stay in. The sauna and hot tub were amazing, and we even made it out on the lake in the flat bottom boat when we got some sunshine! Very peaceful few nights away and we're already planning a return trip next year with friends. Would highly recommend
A short break for our 16th wedding anniversary and what a wonderful place to spend it. The location of this lodge is stunning, the view over the lake is second to none and despite a couple of days being pretty stormy, we still managed to enjoy the walk around the lake. The lodge itself is well equipped and is furnished to a high standard. We were pleasantly surprised at the overall size for a one bedroom lodge, it really was spacious. We will certainly be looking to return in the future, perhaps the summer next time to really be able to make the most of the outside space and hot tub. ...more
Tranquil Otter never stops being a great place to stay. We stayed in the Dunnock, which is perfect and cosy. Spotlessly clean, with everything you need and so peaceful. We met the friendly birds, ducks and swans and Nick, who’s the owner popped by to say hello, which was lovely. We’ll be back next year! Fabulous place to stay. Love it!
The location and view is amazing, easy to find on maps, nice area, 10 minutes from shops and very clean and warm lodge, great stay would definitely recommend!

Well what can I say, what a place. I was so inpressed with the whole cabin & the views was absolutely out this world. Luxury is an understatement! I definately will return.
Loved our stay, surroundings are beautiful. Very difficult to find via sat nav as it takes you to the bird of prey centre and you almost miss the entrance as its very difficult to see. I would say some of the additional charges seem steep such as early check in you practically lose a day being unable to check in till 4pm so a £40 charge to get in earlier is high given its expensive to stay overall. Lovely stay overall and the ducks are great !
I love visiting Tranquill Otter (8 times now i think). So peaceful and relaxing. This time year offers the cosiness of a log burner and a soak in the hot tub under the stars. Plenty of wildlife to watch. Will definitely be back again.
