The cottage was beautiful and very accommodating. It had everything a family would need for a carefree stay. It had enough back up supplies so as not to run out. We were very sorry to have to leave. There was a pub and store with in walking distance if you did need something. The surrounding county was absolutely amazing. I would love to return there some day.
This house is perfect. Just a few minutes walk from a beautiful selection of beaches with a fantastic view across the bay to the mountains. Every thing is comfortable and luxurious. There were Gallons of hot water and extremely comfortable beds. I would go back again any time!
We’ve had an amazing time in Ballyconneely. The house was perfect for our family, ie enough bedrooms to sleep roughly 20 people, spacious/modern kitchen and sitting rooms. The host and caretakers were friendly, very helpful and easily to contact via mobile and email. Everyone from 6 months of age to 82 years enjoyed the stay. Thank you!
Spacious comfortable house in a nice location. Well equipped with big garden for the kids to play inext. Unlike a lot of rentals the bedrooms and beds were big and comfortable. A drawback for us was that the house is not pet friendly but given the quality of the house it is understandable.
Beautiful home, well equipped, stunning location, magnificent views. Ideal for a relaxing peaceful break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The owners Veronica & PJ are a lovely couple and a pleasure to deal with.
Lovely large house with loads of character, beautiful outlook and good location to explore Galway/Connemara. The house stands in its own grounds providing privacy and is not far from a small shop and petrol station. A car is of course a requirement. Bedrooms are large and comfortable and the kitchen well equipped for preparing and serving family meals. We would thoroughly recommend.
We stayed for 2 nights for a family wedding. Ideal location close to wedding venue and short drive from Roundstone and Clifden. Spacious and comfortable house.
Perfect size - we were a party of six adults, two children, a toddler, a baby and three dogs! Lovely sunny front garden - sun all day from morning to evening.Ten minutes walk to Clifden town centre through two housing estates.
Lovely cottage in wonderful location. Nicely decorated. Well maintained garden. Excellent parking. Perfect for dogs.
This is a virtually new house with all rooms ensuite. The situation is beautiful and Coynes is only a 5 minute walk away for really excellent food. The beaches and views on the Renvyle peninsula are stunning.Mark was very helpful and the welcome with apple tart, wheaten loaf, milk etc excellent. We would have no hesitation giving this a 5 star rating and you have to expect some rain in the west of Ireland.
We stayed in the house for a week at the end of June(Me, my wife and 3 small children). The house and the view is amazing. We were lucky with the weather too which made it even better. The beaches are very close to the house and are superb. Could not recommend highly enough. Probably the nicest house in the area. Would love to return some day.
This property suited my wife and me just fine, views over harbour and Connemara hills beyond. Good food in the local hostelry and very friendly people everywhere
House beautiful. Owner really welcoming and helpful. Location good . Only downsides were exiting the driveway onto road was a llittle dangerous as could not see properly . Also no mobile phone coverage . Overall though a fantastic house .
Wonderful house and location. Nothing more to say than everything perfect. Highly recommended and we will try to come back.
Very warm hosting, The hostst did take care of all of our belongings. The stay was great and we felt very well!
A beautiful peaceful setting overlooking the sea on the Sky Road. The owner was very helpful to ensure we had what we needed and to check in the week that we were ok. Three bedrooms with little ensuite each was perfect. Beds very comfortable. We loved seeing the newborn calf with its mum in the field adjacent to the property. Many thanks to Josephine for our lovely stay.
We stayed here last summer too and are already planning to come back next year. The cottage is well furnished and cosy. A short walk from the sea. Beaches everywhere! Two minutes drive to Cleggan or Omey island. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a hassle free seaside holiday.
From the moment we arrived, to be welcomed by home baked scones , we had a wonderful stay. Location is fab - a short walk to a beautiful beach suitable for swimming. Close to Renvyle house and Tully Cross if you dont want to cook. House was spotless and beds very comfy. If I was to suggest anything, if would be the addition of a second toilet/shower room and as also a dishwasher. These however are minor and Adele was a wonderful host. Many thanks to her for her kindness.
I booked with you the 3rd time now and it was - as always - just perfect. I will book again soon :)
We really enjoyed our time at this peaceful place! Because of a lot of antiques the house has a unique character. The beds are very comfortable. We loved to use the fireplace on rainy days. The housekeeper Miriam is a gem! Thanks a lot Miriam!
The house is on the outskirts of Tullycross, but not too far to walk to the pub for a drink of an eveningmeal. A few minutes in the car and you find lovely beaches or impressing mountain scenery. The owners live next door and are friendly and helpful. The cottage contains everything you need for a nice stay: kitchen, tv, central heating and a comfortable shower. We had a most pleasant time here.
House was slightly difficult to find, particularly in the dark, The house was clean and well presented. Majella met us shortly after our arrival and helped us work out the heat, very welcome on a cold wet night in October. We were attending a function in Ballynahinch castle and it was in a good location for that, a short drive. Would stay again
We had a lovely holiday in this cosy cottage in a very scenic location. It was very clean and tidy with good kitchen and bathroom. Spectacular views and glorious sunsets. It's off the beaten track which we loved.
We had a wonderful stay at Caher house and were welcome by Theresa whom was always reachable on the phone if needed - the location is easy to find and in front of a small lake - about 15min from Clifden city which is perfect to plan activities in Connemara area. Count almost one hour though to rallye Galway but honestly Clifden beats it for authenticity and pubs like Lowry's just make it a place to go. The house is huge and over equipped with multiple bath/shower/toilets which is perfect for a stay with multiple couples - but there is a twin room which could be fine for kids. Would definitivel...more
The perfect spot to explore Ireland’s beautiful west coast and Connemara. Secluded, cosy peaceful little cottage right on Killary Harbour. Go fishing and crabbing off little Rosroe Pier or just wander around the beautiful peninsula. Wood burning stove keeps it nice and warm!
Me and my family stayed for a week (6 of us) and it was amazing. Great safe beach across the road for the kids. Lovely food in the local pub. If there was one down side it was the house was so big we needed more family with us :-) I will be returning as soon as I can.
Overall was very happy with our stay we were familiar with area so knew what to expect from location etc. house itself is well laid out and probably due to being near end of season could do with a little bit of maintaince but it did not take from our enjoyment. Squeaky doors and mattresses need turning or toppers - bit springy!
The cottage is very well equipped and modern inside. It was a very peaceful place to spend a few days. The surrounding scenery is stunning for cycling or walking.
We have been staying in this house each year for the last 20 years and love the location and the house. It is unfortunate that the third bedroom is not made available. It is also necessary that the septic tank drainage system problems are addressed. The Murrays, who are the caretakers are excellent and great ambassadors for Irish tourism.
I would like to live there. The location is amazing, both the immediate scenery as well as the ease of access to any number other wonderful places, including services and provisions.
Location is very private with stunning landscape, yet only 10-15 mins drive from mini supermarket, restaurants, bars, island ferry and horse riding in Cleggan. About 25mins drive from Omey island....my favourite place in Ireland. House very well equipped for kids, games, DVDs, and beach toys. Kitchen well equipped too but oven not really hot enough for cooking - BBQ outside. Overall, a highly recommended property.
When I booked the cottage the website said it was basic which I didn't mind.I do mind a dirty cooker . A unusable kettle. ( I have thrown away better ones) old rusty fridge . Rusty items in the bathroom. The rest of the cottage was ok . Lovely views and walking distance to the beach.
A roomy well located house which in the face of it had everything we needed. However the furniture in living area was tired and therefore uncomfortable and bed linen stained (not dirty but needed replacement). Kitchen utensils adequate but a bit haphazard: chopping knives blunt and even bread knife was chopped off! The only wooden spoon was shredded and salad servers has paintwork(?peeling. Other utensils (eg grater, bottle stop) broken. Oven gloves dirty as were cushions and some chairs. Overall ok but for the prices we paid we would note the following: bathrooms had half used items from pr...more
I'd just like to say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in preston cottage .It has a much loved old world feel to it with modern heating and washing facilities, the sea washing up at the end of the garden overlooked from the kitchen table. The very clever extension at the back of the cottage with two extra bedrooms and utility meant there was loads of room for all 7 of us.The only thing we missed was a tumble dryer .thanks Jude
We loved the location and the quietness of the Cottage. Comfortable, clean and quaint. I understand that Blackbird Cottage is over 200 years old, yet it is modern and comfortable. The furnishings were perfect. We greatly enjoyed our stay, we wish we could have stayed longer.
This lovely cottage is set in a valley that can only be described as magical. Secluded, cozy, escape.
My one fault with the house was the big hedge in front of house you couldn't see the view kids couldn't play in garden unless you were out with them because of hedge so for that reason I wouldn't go back to house...
We would definitely stay here again. It suited us perfectly. The location for those that love walking, cycling and wildlife is perfect. If you are not active the changing, stunning views from cottage and a book may be enough. The cottage was clean and well equipped. Although it sleeps eight, it could be tight with only one bathroom. A good shop, places to eat and pubs are nearby. Perfect all round
Cottage was more cosy than expected. I think the owner has to do something about the furniture in the living/kitschen though. The kitchen-table is poor and you cannot sit on the chairs anymore. Beds are good, heating and bathroom are excellent tip: provide for some wood for the heater. Location is just wonderfull!!!!! We will come back to this lovely cottage!!!
Cottage was very damp and would not recommend it,it was 5 kilometres from nearest village, very remote and not suitable for families, views were amazing but that was as good as it got
