fabulous house, very comfortable, superbly stocked and in a beautiful part of the country. Highly recommended
This house is perfect. Just a few minutes walk from a beautiful selection of beaches with a fantastic view across the bay to the mountains. Every thing is comfortable and luxurious. There were Gallons of hot water and extremely comfortable beds. I would go back again any time!
Spacious comfortable house in a nice location. Well equipped with big garden for the kids to play inext. Unlike a lot of rentals the bedrooms and beds were big and comfortable. A drawback for us was that the house is not pet friendly but given the quality of the house it is understandable.
We’ve had an amazing time in Ballyconneely. The house was perfect for our family, ie enough bedrooms to sleep roughly 20 people, spacious/modern kitchen and sitting rooms. The host and caretakers were friendly, very helpful and easily to contact via mobile and email. Everyone from 6 months of age to 82 years enjoyed the stay. Thank you!
We stayed in the house for nearly a month and enjoyed our time there. We had a warm welcome by Tina who handles the house, she was available all the time and took good care of us. The house was very clean, spacious and felt very homey. The kitchen was large and very well equipped, something which is very important for a very long stay. The house located was a bit away from the town center but a shortcut made the walk there very convenient and pleasant. Everything worked well and smoothly, the WiFi's signal was excellent. The only drawback was the cable TV as the signal got very poor when the ...more
Beautiful home, well equipped, stunning location, magnificent views. Ideal for a relaxing peaceful break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The owners Veronica & PJ are a lovely couple and a pleasure to deal with.
Lovely large house with loads of character, beautiful outlook and good location to explore Galway/Connemara. The house stands in its own grounds providing privacy and is not far from a small shop and petrol station. A car is of course a requirement. Bedrooms are large and comfortable and the kitchen well equipped for preparing and serving family meals. We would thoroughly recommend.
THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS WITH THE WATER SUPPLY, IT CAME THROUGH A STANDARD HOSE PIPE TO STORAGE TANKS IN THE SHED BESIDE THE HOUSE. UNFORTUNATELY THE PIPE BURST APART ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. FORTUNATELY THE OWNER'S BROTHER WAS ON HAND TO DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM BUT IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED PROPERLY. OTHERWISE WE WERE ALL DELIGHTED WITH THE HOUSE AND OUR IDYLLIC WEEK OF CONNEMARA SUNSHINE. THANK YOU.
We stayed in Jane’s Cottage for a week at the beginning of October, on arrival the views that greeted us were fabulous, just as shown on the website and we spent a lot of our stay enjoying them from the Sunroom which looks out to the Atlantic. Stunning. The interior of the cottage was well laid out, very practical with its two wood burning stoves providing a really homely atmosphere. The open plan layout works well, kitchen, living and dining area running through to the Sunroom, the decor and lovely big sofas add to the comfy cosy feeling. So relaxing. The cottage is also just a short walk...more
This is a virtually new house with all rooms ensuite. The situation is beautiful and Coynes is only a 5 minute walk away for really excellent food. The beaches and views on the Renvyle peninsula are stunning.Mark was very helpful and the welcome with apple tart, wheaten loaf, milk etc excellent. We would have no hesitation giving this a 5 star rating and you have to expect some rain in the west of Ireland.
This property suited my wife and me just fine, views over harbour and Connemara hills beyond. Good food in the local hostelry and very friendly people everywhere
House beautiful. Owner really welcoming and helpful. Location good . Only downsides were exiting the driveway onto road was a llittle dangerous as could not see properly . Also no mobile phone coverage . Overall though a fantastic house .
The house is beautiful, with a breathtaking location. We were very comfortable, which was important given the rainy weather! All communication with Connemara Cottages was prompt and responsive. Thanks, also, for the bottle of wine to greet us. After arriving from overseas, there were a few small things that would have been so appreciated - in particular, as grocery stores were a bit of a drive away.... Just small things - but consider providing salt & pepper, a small container of milk (to go with the coffee provided) and a small amount of laundry detergent, so that guests are not forced to...more
The cottage was warm, comfortable and had everything needed to give us an enjoyable break. The views are superb and it's location is handy for eating out and shopping. Thoroughly recommended.
A beautiful peaceful setting overlooking the sea on the Sky Road. The owner was very helpful to ensure we had what we needed and to check in the week that we were ok. Three bedrooms with little ensuite each was perfect. Beds very comfortable. We loved seeing the newborn calf with its mum in the field adjacent to the property. Many thanks to Josephine for our lovely stay.
Nice cottage, a little basic in the kitchen but fine for the three of us. Great location & fabulous area
Despite the beautiful location this property needs better basic facilities. The bedding needs to be upgraded, it is shabby and stained. Although the kitchen was good the general cleanliness of carpets etc was poor. It would also be benifcial to have an iron and board and hairdryer.
We loved the Well house. The cottage itself was perfect for our family of 5 with 3 adult children. The area of Cashel though is the big delight. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back.
Good place to visit Connemara. The house was nice and functional. Calm and a good view of Clifden. 150 meters to pubs and other services.
House was slightly difficult to find, particularly in the dark, The house was clean and well presented. Majella met us shortly after our arrival and helped us work out the heat, very welcome on a cold wet night in October. We were attending a function in Ballynahinch castle and it was in a good location for that, a short drive. Would stay again
We had a wonderful stay at Caher house and were welcome by Theresa whom was always reachable on the phone if needed - the location is easy to find and in front of a small lake - about 15min from Clifden city which is perfect to plan activities in Connemara area. Count almost one hour though to rallye Galway but honestly Clifden beats it for authenticity and pubs like Lowry's just make it a place to go. The house is huge and over equipped with multiple bath/shower/toilets which is perfect for a stay with multiple couples - but there is a twin room which could be fine for kids. Would definitivel...more
The perfect spot to explore Ireland’s beautiful west coast and Connemara. Secluded, cosy peaceful little cottage right on Killary Harbour. Go fishing and crabbing off little Rosroe Pier or just wander around the beautiful peninsula. Wood burning stove keeps it nice and warm!
Me and my family stayed for a week (6 of us) and it was amazing. Great safe beach across the road for the kids. Lovely food in the local pub. If there was one down side it was the house was so big we needed more family with us :-) I will be returning as soon as I can.
Overall was very happy with our stay we were familiar with area so knew what to expect from location etc. house itself is well laid out and probably due to being near end of season could do with a little bit of maintaince but it did not take from our enjoyment. Squeaky doors and mattresses need turning or toppers - bit springy!
The cottage was very good. All you need is inside. The host baked a bread for us, it tasted wonderful. And she provided extra a bottle of wine, tea and coffee in the cottage. Thank you very much for the real nice stay.
The cottage was exactly what we were looking for, cosy, traditional and had everything we needed. The location is stunning it felt like the view changed every time you looked at it! Will recommend to our family and friends!
We have been staying in this house each year for the last 20 years and love the location and the house. It is unfortunate that the third bedroom is not made available. It is also necessary that the septic tank drainage system problems are addressed. The Murrays, who are the caretakers are excellent and great ambassadors for Irish tourism.
The cottage is delightful and fully functional whilst retaining it's rustic charm. What it lacks in modern conveniences like a dishwasher, walk-in power shower, sky tv and internet is far outweighed by the outstanding views, quaint turf fire and simple unspoiled way of living. The cottage is warm, clean and comfortable with everything you need including a fully set, ready to go turf fire for your first night. You are told when booking the property what to expect and that is exactly what you get. Ellie and James are wonderful hosts and If your type of holiday is to relax, unwind and get away fr...more
Adele welcomed us warmly and left us some essential grocery items. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and felt quite at home. The cottage is centrally located in an area of outstanding beauty so it makes an ideal base to explore the area. We enjoyed our walk along the lanes to the sea front and walked up Mount Tully to enjoy panoramic views. The walk beside Kilarry Fjord was exhilarating and we saw the fishermen harvesting the mussels which we later enjoyed in Paddy Coyne’s pub just round the corner. There are two pubs and a hotel within easy walking distance and we sampled a...more
I would like to live there. The location is amazing, both the immediate scenery as well as the ease of access to any number other wonderful places, including services and provisions.
Amazing location, lovely cottage with absolutely everything you could want provided in with the price.
A lovely remote location, with safe swimming and fishing from the rocks, all within a 10 mins walk. The crockery could be replaced, many were chipped. Otherwise the beds and pillows were comfortable. We were given plenty of turf for free which was a nice touch. I did think that the electricity and oil should have been included in the price but that is just my opinion and not a complaint.
Spent a great week in Claddaghduff in Fushia cottage. Quiet location, facilities in the cottage were excellent, home away from home!
I'd just like to say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in preston cottage .It has a much loved old world feel to it with modern heating and washing facilities, the sea washing up at the end of the garden overlooked from the kitchen table. The very clever extension at the back of the cottage with two extra bedrooms and utility meant there was loads of room for all 7 of us.The only thing we missed was a tumble dryer .thanks Jude
We loved the location and the quietness of the Cottage. Comfortable, clean and quaint. I understand that Blackbird Cottage is over 200 years old, yet it is modern and comfortable. The furnishings were perfect. We greatly enjoyed our stay, we wish we could have stayed longer.
This lovely cottage is set in a valley that can only be described as magical. Secluded, cozy, escape.
My one fault with the house was the big hedge in front of house you couldn't see the view kids couldn't play in garden unless you were out with them because of hedge so for that reason I wouldn't go back to house...
What a wonderful location. So peaceful that I slept the sleep of the just. It was warm and cosy at night and by day the light for reading is superb. I will be back. JD
Cottage was very damp and would not recommend it,it was 5 kilometres from nearest village, very remote and not suitable for families, views were amazing but that was as good as it got
