This house is perfect. Just a few minutes walk from a beautiful selection of beaches with a fantastic view across the bay to the mountains. Every thing is comfortable and luxurious. There were Gallons of hot water and extremely comfortable beds. I would go back again any time!
fabulous house, very comfortable, superbly stocked and in a beautiful part of the country. Highly recommended
Spacious comfortable house in a nice location. Well equipped with big garden for the kids to play inext. Unlike a lot of rentals the bedrooms and beds were big and comfortable. A drawback for us was that the house is not pet friendly but given the quality of the house it is understandable.
We could not have been happier with our stay. While at first the location seems a little remote when driving to the property, it's actually an easy 7 minute walk to the center of Clifden. One of the greatest benefits of the location is how quiet and peaceful it is at night. When we arrived we got the warmest possible welcome from Maureen, who also gave us great tips on the local scene(pubs, restaurants, music, etc.). Although our trip was a short one of only four days, we were very pleased with our accommodations and would highly recommend this property.
We’ve had an amazing time in Ballyconneely. The house was perfect for our family, ie enough bedrooms to sleep roughly 20 people, spacious/modern kitchen and sitting rooms. The host and caretakers were friendly, very helpful and easily to contact via mobile and email. Everyone from 6 months of age to 82 years enjoyed the stay. Thank you!
We had a great week and only wish we had longer. Pj and Veronica were very helpful with any queries we had. Pj lent us his sons goal post which delighted our 2 boys. The house was immaculate and provided all we needed. Loved waking to the sound of the sea and the amazing views!
Stayed here for two nights. Had been contacted a few days before and advised how to get keys so all worked out easy. Had my wife, mother and nephew with me so three rooms was great. Bed was comfy, great kitchen facilities and we were delighted with our stay. Only minus was the WiFi which barely worked. Molly's bar next door had Guinness of supreme quality. Would definitely stay here again.
Thoroughly enjoyable week in June at Jane's Cottage, which is in a beautiful, tranquil, secluded location above Cleggan, with views of the sea.. The house is a converted and extended cottage. It is bright (greatly assisted by the sun lounge), and we loved the paintings and other art work. It has all modern facilities, is very well equipped for self-catering and very comfortable. There is a spacious lawn, and good car parking. We were very fortunate with good clear weather, and the sunsets were such a feature of the evenings. Its an easy walk of some 20-25 minutes to shop, restaurant, pubs at C...more
Lovely large house with loads of character, beautiful outlook and good location to explore Galway/Connemara. The house stands in its own grounds providing privacy and is not far from a small shop and petrol station. A car is of course a requirement. Bedrooms are large and comfortable and the kitchen well equipped for preparing and serving family meals. We would thoroughly recommend.
We had a wonderful stay. The apartment was lovely and very comfortable for our family of 5. Ground floor suited perfectly with the baby. Given the reasonable price we were expecting basic but were delighted with the standard.
THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS WITH THE WATER SUPPLY, IT CAME THROUGH A STANDARD HOSE PIPE TO STORAGE TANKS IN THE SHED BESIDE THE HOUSE. UNFORTUNATELY THE PIPE BURST APART ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. FORTUNATELY THE OWNER'S BROTHER WAS ON HAND TO DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM BUT IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED PROPERLY. OTHERWISE WE WERE ALL DELIGHTED WITH THE HOUSE AND OUR IDYLLIC WEEK OF CONNEMARA SUNSHINE. THANK YOU.
We as a family particularly chose Cleggan as we were returning after a ten year break from Connemara and had very fond memories and it certainly has not changed staying in Cleggan was perfect for us to tour Connemara and as all the pubs were lively with Irish music the house was ideal and location excellent
Lovely apartment with wonderful views. Good food in the local pubs and lots of places to visit nearby.
This is a virtually new house with all rooms ensuite. The situation is beautiful and Coynes is only a 5 minute walk away for really excellent food. The beaches and views on the Renvyle peninsula are stunning.Mark was very helpful and the welcome with apple tart, wheaten loaf, milk etc excellent. We would have no hesitation giving this a 5 star rating and you have to expect some rain in the west of Ireland.
House beautiful. Owner really welcoming and helpful. Location good . Only downsides were exiting the driveway onto road was a llittle dangerous as could not see properly . Also no mobile phone coverage . Overall though a fantastic house .
The house is beautiful, with a breathtaking location. We were very comfortable, which was important given the rainy weather! All communication with Connemara Cottages was prompt and responsive. Thanks, also, for the bottle of wine to greet us. After arriving from overseas, there were a few small things that would have been so appreciated - in particular, as grocery stores were a bit of a drive away.... Just small things - but consider providing salt & pepper, a small container of milk (to go with the coffee provided) and a small amount of laundry detergent, so that guests are not forced to...more
A beautiful peaceful setting overlooking the sea on the Sky Road. The owner was very helpful to ensure we had what we needed and to check in the week that we were ok. Three bedrooms with little ensuite each was perfect. Beds very comfortable. We loved seeing the newborn calf with its mum in the field adjacent to the property. Many thanks to Josephine for our lovely stay.
We loved this cottage. Great location, beautiful views, and very comfortable. Lovely beach just across the field.
I had a fabulous 2 week stay this August in Benview Cottage. It really is something special, it is the perfect home away from home. It is located outside Clifden in a beautiful setting with the mountains in the background. It is a great base to explore all the wonderful sights that Conemara has to offer or a great location to get away from it all.
beautiful spot. very well built and appointed. need to fix the decking area. highly recommended. spectacular vista.
Nice cottage, a little basic in the kitchen but fine for the three of us. Great location & fabulous area
Despite the beautiful location this property needs better basic facilities. The bedding needs to be upgraded, it is shabby and stained. Although the kitchen was good the general cleanliness of carpets etc was poor. It would also be benifcial to have an iron and board and hairdryer.
We loved the Well house. The cottage itself was perfect for our family of 5 with 3 adult children. The area of Cashel though is the big delight. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back.
I would highly recommend this property, it is a good size, well equipped, clean and comfortable. The views out towards the ocean are stunning. Cannot really fault this property. We would book again...
Good place to visit Connemara. The house was nice and functional. Calm and a good view of Clifden. 150 meters to pubs and other services.
Good apartments, surrounding views are poor as town location. Great parking, apartments have been well taken care of. The only suggestion would be to replace grouting around bath. The area is absolutely beautiful.
Me and my family stayed for a week (6 of us) and it was amazing. Great safe beach across the road for the kids. Lovely food in the local pub. If there was one down side it was the house was so big we needed more family with us :-) I will be returning as soon as I can.
We had a wonderful stay at Caher house and were welcome by Theresa whom was always reachable on the phone if needed - the location is easy to find and in front of a small lake - about 15min from Clifden city which is perfect to plan activities in Connemara area. Count almost one hour though to rallye Galway but honestly Clifden beats it for authenticity and pubs like Lowry's just make it a place to go. The house is huge and over equipped with multiple bath/shower/toilets which is perfect for a stay with multiple couples - but there is a twin room which could be fine for kids. Would definitivel...more
Overall was very happy with our stay we were familiar with area so knew what to expect from location etc. house itself is well laid out and probably due to being near end of season could do with a little bit of maintaince but it did not take from our enjoyment. Squeaky doors and mattresses need turning or toppers - bit springy!
I have stayed in this property many times before and it is ideal in its location right in the village so no driving required if you enjoy a pint. Could use a bit of a re furb to bring it up to date, better tv, there is no hairdryer and only the bare minimum of kitchen equipment. Its fine for me but I think a family would struggle. The booking service is great and they are always available on site to help.
The cottage was very good. All you need is inside. The host baked a bread for us, it tasted wonderful. And she provided extra a bottle of wine, tea and coffee in the cottage. Thank you very much for the real nice stay.
Very remote and isolated. Comfort without luxury. We enjoyed being without WiFi etc. Authentic West coast experience in tiny working harbour. In no way polished up for tourists. Visible reminders of famine across the lough remind you that this can be tough place but we had unbroken Mediterranean weather. Water supply for whole area went down for a while and Julia very helpful. Great for walking, relaxing or being at peace.
Old traditional style cottage with modern kitchen facilities, with oil and stove heating. Very peaceful place with lovely walks around island. Lovely spot for a peaceful getaway. Very professional Customer Care service.
We have been staying in this house each year for the last 20 years and love the location and the house. It is unfortunate that the third bedroom is not made available. It is also necessary that the septic tank drainage system problems are addressed. The Murrays, who are the caretakers are excellent and great ambassadors for Irish tourism.
Adele welcomed us warmly and left us some essential grocery items. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and felt quite at home. The cottage is centrally located in an area of outstanding beauty so it makes an ideal base to explore the area. We enjoyed our walk along the lanes to the sea front and walked up Mount Tully to enjoy panoramic views. The walk beside Kilarry Fjord was exhilarating and we saw the fishermen harvesting the mussels which we later enjoyed in Paddy Coyne’s pub just round the corner. There are two pubs and a hotel within easy walking distance and we sampled a...more
The cottage is delightful and fully functional whilst retaining it's rustic charm. What it lacks in modern conveniences like a dishwasher, walk-in power shower, sky tv and internet is far outweighed by the outstanding views, quaint turf fire and simple unspoiled way of living. The cottage is warm, clean and comfortable with everything you need including a fully set, ready to go turf fire for your first night. You are told when booking the property what to expect and that is exactly what you get. Ellie and James are wonderful hosts and If your type of holiday is to relax, unwind and get away fr...more
Amazing location, lovely cottage with absolutely everything you could want provided in with the price.
Spent a great week in Claddaghduff in Fushia cottage. Quiet location, facilities in the cottage were excellent, home away from home!
A lovely remote location, with safe swimming and fishing from the rocks, all within a 10 mins walk. The crockery could be replaced, many were chipped. Otherwise the beds and pillows were comfortable. We were given plenty of turf for free which was a nice touch. I did think that the electricity and oil should have been included in the price but that is just my opinion and not a complaint.
It is a great place to stay if you like to get away from a busy and stressful (urban) life - this is what we did. It is close to the lake which is nice to wake up to. In the evening, you can sit close to the fireplace, talk, read a book or just simply relax. We really enjoyed it and will come back for sure. The caretaker is really nice and helpful and will assist you in any kind of way!
The pictures of the cottage do not begin to give the place justice. It's much larger and homier than I anticipated. Everything about our trip to Ireland was magical including the cottage. The stunning views cannot be described, everywhere you looked was beautiful. To sit at the kitchen table with the French doors open in the morning was a little piece of heaven. The cottage was well equipped with everything needed to sit back and relax and enjoy the wondrous beauty and peace. My recommendation would be to tell incoming renters to bring all your food and drink needed for your stay and never lea...more
Beautiful place near Connemara National Park with many opportunities for excursions and a nice pub across the road
My one fault with the house was the big hedge in front of house you couldn't see the view kids couldn't play in garden unless you were out with them because of hedge so for that reason I wouldn't go back to house...
We had a nice time in the "Black Bird" cottage, a real Connemara style cottage. Adapted slightly with modern comfort. The only draw-back was the total absence of Wi-Fi, which could of course be a choice but our sons did not really appreciate, nor did we..
A beautifully preserved cottage, equipped with everything you need and set in spectacular unspoilt landscape
It was the ideal place to visit Connemara specially with a kid. The cottage was verry charming and the owner too.
Nice little cottage Well equipped kitchen Cosy living room Sleeping rooms functional Very narrow and steep staircase to upper floor Large outside area
Kitchen and living room maybe need a renovation. Location is good, refilling of electricity credit maybe is not well advised in the website, so it was a surprise for us. Quiet place and allowed us to rest.
Clean and confortable appartment in Connemara but a bit noisy as it is situated in the Letterfrack main road/street and close to the pubs. More than 4 cutleries would be appreciated.
Cottage was very damp and would not recommend it,it was 5 kilometres from nearest village, very remote and not suitable for families, views were amazing but that was as good as it got
