This house is perfect. Just a few minutes walk from a beautiful selection of beaches with a fantastic view across the bay to the mountains. Every thing is comfortable and luxurious. There were Gallons of hot water and extremely comfortable beds. I would go back again any time!
The house was beautiful and the setting amazing. We had a fabulous relaxing, stress free, and friendly stay. We will definitely return.
Spacious comfortable house in a nice location. Well equipped with big garden for the kids to play inext. Unlike a lot of rentals the bedrooms and beds were big and comfortable. A drawback for us was that the house is not pet friendly but given the quality of the house it is understandable.
We stayed here for a week with children and the house was perfect. It is very well equipped and more spacious than it looks on the photos. There is a nice outdoor seating area (weather dependent!) and it has a washer and dryer, TV with Netflix, board games and tourist information. It was warm and cosy and the hosts were very helpful. Everything in Letterfrack is in walking distance. Veldons is great for local seafood and you can walk through the village to Connemara National Park and Diamond Hill.
We were all very happy at Hillview and found it to be a lot better than we’d expected - Good expectation management you might say! Unusually I actually suggest you might be well served in taking some new photos of the house which show how spacious it is, how many people can fit around the kitchen table etc, as we felt we needed to bring with us by car from the UK extra tables and chairs (not necessary!) However it would be helpful if there were a larger freezer as catering for a large family group day by day on holiday can be quite a task - We actually drove over with our own freezer! That was...more
We’ve had an amazing time in Ballyconneely. The house was perfect for our family, ie enough bedrooms to sleep roughly 20 people, spacious/modern kitchen and sitting rooms. The host and caretakers were friendly, very helpful and easily to contact via mobile and email. Everyone from 6 months of age to 82 years enjoyed the stay. Thank you!
Lovely large house with loads of character, beautiful outlook and good location to explore Galway/Connemara. The house stands in its own grounds providing privacy and is not far from a small shop and petrol station. A car is of course a requirement. Bedrooms are large and comfortable and the kitchen well equipped for preparing and serving family meals. We would thoroughly recommend.
An excellent house with large rooms, generous space, straightforward design. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you Mark for your very friendly welcome and assistance in a few questions!
Cottage relaxing and homely, felt relaxed as soon as we began our holiday, the views and location were fantastic. Plenty of equipment to cook with and cosy when weather turned poor. Beds were comfy! Would have loved to stay another week!
We stayed in the house for a week at the end of June(Me, my wife and 3 small children). The house and the view is amazing. We were lucky with the weather too which made it even better. The beaches are very close to the house and are superb. Could not recommend highly enough. Probably the nicest house in the area. Would love to return some day.
this was a great place, loved separate bathrooms in all rooms. were I coming back I would try to book the same place.
Beautiful house and settling is heavenly. The sound of the waves in the distance is magical. Cant recommend the house enough. The team were excellent to deal with to arrange booking and access.
We did not book this house as we were just with the two of us. Due to issues with the house we booked we got this house as alternative. Views are amazing, the owners very enthusiastic and willing to help. House was equipped with all you need and more. We would book this house next if we would come with more people.
Wonderful house and location. Nothing more to say than everything perfect. Highly recommended and we will try to come back.
Mooi gelegen, comfortabel huisje. Het heeft alles wat je nodig hebt en de openhaard zorgt voor de rest. Het huisje ligt op een paar minuten lopen van zee. En verder een prima uitvalsbasis om Connemara te verkennen.
Very warm hosting, The hostst did take care of all of our belongings. The stay was great and we felt very well!
The cottage itself was lovely, very nicely renovated to easily accommodate 6 people. The location is perfect for a quiet get away and on a clear night I have never seen so many stars. The town of Clifden is just a 10 min drive and Roundstone and Westport are an easy day trip with two of the most glorious Irish beaches, Dogs Bay and Gurteen Bay on the Clifden road to Roundstone. The kitchen was well equipped but could have used a microwave. The rest of the house was comfortably furnished. First let me say we loved our time in the cottage and were able to visit family and friends in the area b...more
It was generally a good stay, however on arrival it was clear the cleaner had not finished. A bucket and mop were at the front door . A full refuse bag was left inside the front door , the double room bed was not made up, there were very few towels and a damp one left hanging on the bathroom door. The rug in the main reception room also had a lot of dog or cat hairs. The following morning while we were in the living room the cleaner came into the apartment unannounced and obviously expecting it to be empty and was maintaining that some other people were to arrive the next day although we w...more
We stayed here last summer too and are already planning to come back next year. The cottage is well furnished and cosy. A short walk from the sea. Beaches everywhere! Two minutes drive to Cleggan or Omey island. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a hassle free seaside holiday.
Close to local attractions, comfortable bed - and friendly owners. I appreciated the laundry facilities.
I booked with you the 3rd time now and it was - as always - just perfect. I will book again soon :)
We really enjoyed our time at this peaceful place! Because of a lot of antiques the house has a unique character. The beds are very comfortable. We loved to use the fireplace on rainy days. The housekeeper Miriam is a gem! Thanks a lot Miriam!
The house is on the outskirts of Tullycross, but not too far to walk to the pub for a drink of an eveningmeal. A few minutes in the car and you find lovely beaches or impressing mountain scenery. The owners live next door and are friendly and helpful. The cottage contains everything you need for a nice stay: kitchen, tv, central heating and a comfortable shower. We had a most pleasant time here.
The cottage is a short walk from the village in a very quite location. Visiters have their own hens and can collected eggs everyday, a nice touch. Despite being behind a bigger property there are good views of the sea and the village. There is a small beach just across the road. We would stay there again.
We stayed 5 nights in this lovely cottage right at the foot of the Twelve Bens outside Clifden. Highly recommended ~
Stayed during Feb in the worst storm. Very cosy and safe here and was able to look out over the sea and watch the storm.. Great views from all windows in this comfy cottage.
Me and my family stayed for a week (6 of us) and it was amazing. Great safe beach across the road for the kids. Lovely food in the local pub. If there was one down side it was the house was so big we needed more family with us :-) I will be returning as soon as I can.
We had a wonderful stay at Caher house and were welcome by Theresa whom was always reachable on the phone if needed - the location is easy to find and in front of a small lake - about 15min from Clifden city which is perfect to plan activities in Connemara area. Count almost one hour though to rallye Galway but honestly Clifden beats it for authenticity and pubs like Lowry's just make it a place to go. The house is huge and over equipped with multiple bath/shower/toilets which is perfect for a stay with multiple couples - but there is a twin room which could be fine for kids. Would definitivel...more
House was well situated with fantastic views of Fjord and Mountains Fiona was very friendly and helpful.
We had a wonderful stay in Westry Cottage. The location is perfect for anyone looking to get away from it all - no internet, TV or phone signal (unless you sit in the window seat) - it was just what we were looking for. The cottage is fairly basic but had everything we needed for a week and the views across the lough to the mountain provided us with all the entertainment we needed as we watched the constantly changing weather patterns sweep by. While the location of the cottage is secluded it is also within easy reach of Connemara's many attractions - a beautiful beach just a couple of km aw...more
Hill House is all that you could hope for. A well equipped kitchen, an open fire in the sitting room and beds so comfortable you won’t want to get out of them. Even though the weather wasn’t kind, we had a fabulous few days exploring the local area. Definitely a place to come back to.
The cottage is very well equipped and modern inside. It was a very peaceful place to spend a few days. The surrounding scenery is stunning for cycling or walking.
Das Haus hat drei Zimmer, praktischerweise eines mit Badezimmer. Daneben gibt es ein separates Badezimmer. Waschmaschine ist in Nebenbau, kleine Gartenlaube, wussten wir nicht. Musste man suchen. Ansonsten: Ausstattung voll ok, alles da, Kamin ein Plus, man braucht ein Auto.
For sure this is one of the most beautiful cottages in the area - one with its own 'personality' (thanks to some dedicated owners) and with its own history! If you are looking for something that feels typical for rural Connemara, you are in the right place. The cottage is comparatively small (good for a family of 3 or 4 for a comfortable stay), but it is furnished and equipped with great care and, above all, with great taste and love for Connemara: There was really nothing we didn't find in this place (maps/ utensils etc.) except maybe for more firewood ;-) (As it was pretty chilly out, we use...more
This cottage is at the end of the road. There is no traffic noise, no sounds at all other than nature. The perfect getaway spot or family time away from all distractions. Lovely comfortable feel the place and has everything you would need to cook or relax and play games or read a book. The caretaker was a lovely woman who was accessable when needed.
Traditional Irish cottage in an almost idyllic location far from the madding crowd. Loved living a humble lifestyle. The cottage has everything one needs.. Fabulous walks and awesome views everywhere.
Location is very private with stunning landscape, yet only 10-15 mins drive from mini supermarket, restaurants, bars, island ferry and horse riding in Cleggan. About 25mins drive from Omey island....my favourite place in Ireland. House very well equipped for kids, games, DVDs, and beach toys. Kitchen well equipped too but oven not really hot enough for cooking - BBQ outside. Overall, a highly recommended property.
When I booked the cottage the website said it was basic which I didn't mind.I do mind a dirty cooker . A unusable kettle. ( I have thrown away better ones) old rusty fridge . Rusty items in the bathroom. The rest of the cottage was ok . Lovely views and walking distance to the beach.
We absolutely loved the cottage and had such a fantastic week there. Evelyn was so kind and obliging. The kitchen was very well equipped for elaborate cooking and the location was just stunning. The only thing I would say is that maybe people should be notified in advance that there is absolutely no phone signal there. We didn't really mind and in fact we loved the break from technology and "always-on" contact but some people might be nervous about the fact that they have to walk a few minutes up / down the road to make a call, even in the event of an emergency. The storage heater in ...more
My one fault with the house was the big hedge in front of house you couldn't see the view kids couldn't play in garden unless you were out with them because of hedge so for that reason I wouldn't go back to house...
We would definitely stay here again. It suited us perfectly. The location for those that love walking, cycling and wildlife is perfect. If you are not active the changing, stunning views from cottage and a book may be enough. The cottage was clean and well equipped. Although it sleeps eight, it could be tight with only one bathroom. A good shop, places to eat and pubs are nearby. Perfect all round
house might need small bit of upgrading island is ideal place for rest and relaxation good places to eat with lovely beaches if only weather was a little warmer
We were very disappointed..From the start we were confronted with all types of wires sticking outpfvarious places which was a majrwprry as we were aged 86,77 snd 73 at the time. Also the person in the room with the view was subjected to noise every time somebody used the water in other parts of the house. The front door was in poor condition and the microwave was not cleaned properly. We certainly will never return to that house again
We havent like at all the house. Very dirty, bad location. The dishwasher lose water. The house very wet. Very disaapointed.
