We absolutely loved everything about the Convent and will definitely return. The location, facilities and attention from owner were second to none.
Lovely cottage, with stunning views. Beautifully furnished with everything you can need and very comfortable.
We had a delightful stay at The Stone House - Rachel was a lovely host and we were very comfortable. It is small - but plenty big enough for the two of us, and in a very nice position across from the river. A particular surprise was the beautiful garden, and there was every thing we needed for our week’s stay. It was so quiet and peaceful. Newport is a great base to explore the region and we enjoyed the pub and the other amenities available in the town. Highly recommended!
We had a lovely stay in west connemara. It is an ideal house for a family, great kitchen living space and nice garden outside for kids to play in. It is close to lots of beautiful beaches, the ferry to Inishboffin and there are ample restaurants, coffee shops within 10-15 minutes drive.
Very comfortable house in a nice place however we think that the dining room table is suitable for 6, we were 7 , there were 6 chairs and we were tight around the table.
Stayed for a week. Couldn't have asked for more. House was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Lovely quiet location overlooking Omey Beach which is only a 5 minute walk. 15 minute drive to Clifden. Jackie and Paul were very friendly and accommodating, would highly recommend this property!
House is very well laid out and had plenty of room for our group of small kids teens and adults.perfect location small walk down to clear waters of omey strand.
Beautiful house very well equipped for a family of 5. No stone left unturned when it came to what was supplied in the house. Good shop nearly right next door which sold everything. Would definitely recommend. Thankyou for a wonderful stay!!!!
It's a brand new house with 4 doublerooms and 5 restrooms.. the stay was awesome. As it's new everything is neat and clean. Supervalu is within 5 km radius from the stay , so you can buy things for cooking.... In one word impeccable. Just one small suggestions - please provide bins in bedrooms.
A beautiful, well presented holiday home. Immacutely clean. Fabulous views form the living room window! Easy to drive to several beaches, Louisburgh and Westport. We appreciated the Wii, guest Netflix account, facilities for doing laundry and the home made scones! Only improvements we would suggest were some hanging space for clothes (a small rail or wardrobe somewhere would be good) and an outdoor seat to enjoy the views on a dry day would be perfect!
Excellent holiday home. Absolutely amazing facilities, fantastic hosts and we will be coming back. By far the best holiday home we have stayed in. Many thanks again.
We had a lovely time at the Bothy. It was perfect for our 5 night stay! The cottage is warm and well equipped. The village is very close with lots of walks possible and a beautiful sandy beach nearby. Even in May we had little rain so lots of chance to be outside.
We loved our stay; what a gorgeous location and spacious house! The views of the sea and the islands are spectacular. Thanks so much to Veronica and PJ for your warm hospitality. We would highly recommend this property.
My wife and I with our 3 kids stayed in this house for a week and wish we could have stayed longer. The house had everything we needed, and gave us the perfect basecamp to explore the surrounding area. We loved getting to walk down to to the beach on days we didn't feel like driving somewhere. The entire experience was fantastic and we would absolutely recommend this house or Siobhan and her team to anyone visiting this area!
stunning views over the atlantic ocean at a nice location in a remote area of connemara's renvyle peninsula
We booked this property for our extended family [7 adults and a one-and-a-half year old] as it had 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms [3 en-suite]. The house appeared to be a relatively new build and was in excellent condition. The main room cum kitchen was spacious, with well stocked crockery, cutlery etc. While it was June, the weather was breezy and cool at times, yet the house was always warm and cozy [air to water heat pump and solar panels were really good] and gas and electricity were included in the overall cost of the week's rent. The house is 100m from Tully Cross village, around 3km from L...more
This house is very comfortable and homely . It has gorgeous views from the patio area at the rear of the house with a lovely bbq area with tables and seating. The location being so close to Ballyconneely village is fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone renting in the area.
We loved it here. If you’re looking for disconnecting from it all, this is a great location. Letterfrack isn’t too far away for nice meals. The owners are wonderful!
We, a group of 4 adults with two dogs, stayed in August 2021. Mary was very welcoming and helpful. The house is very comfortable with plenty of modern amenities available. The beach is about a 10/15 min walk from the house. Beautiful location and views. A true piece of Connemara.
We were so impressed with this fresh, cosy place. The bedding, towels and blankets were so clean and the bathroom was impeccable. A lovely touch leaving milk, scones and little chocolates for when we arrived. Lovely garden to enjoy the beautiful Connemara views and we enjoyed sightings of a seal. Marie was so friendly and welcoming. Would certainly return. Many thanks for our special visit.
Stayed with my family at this holiday house and couldn't ask for better. Great view, great communication and John the caretaker did an amazing job, he looked after us and he made sure everything is ok. The roads are a bit tight but as soon you drive slow it s allright. 100% we will book it again for our next holiday. The price was way lower than expected!! Amazing. Dan and Malinda
We loved our stay here. Very warm and cozy. The host was stunning and very helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to go back there.
Stoneacre's location in beautiful Leenane, looking out on to Killary fjord, is hard to improve on. The house is extremely comfortable and spacious, with lots of attention given to detail. Another real benefit is the local support from Conor, who looks after the property. The only reason I've given 4 rather than 5 for 'Condition' is because of the cooking facilities. The Aga looks good but isn't used, and the electric cooker in the Utility room is very old, and would benefit from being replaced. Our stay was always going to be too short, really hoping to be there again next year.
196 Tooreena was the perfect spot for our week in Renvyle. The sea views were gorgeous under any skies and our children loved feeding apples and carrots to the mare and her foal. John made us feel very welcome with his walk thru upon arrival. We replaced the toaster, which wasn’t working on our arrival and he comped us our fuel charge in exchange. The house was lovely and comfortable for our family of four and we will certainly be back again! Thanks a million, John!
Absolutely gorgeous property, comfortable and had every thing we could need. The views are beautiful.
This cottage is excellent for getting some peace and quiet and to relax your mind. The surrounding landscape is beautiful. The cottage had everything we needed and was decorated in a very pleasant way. There are lots of great walks and drives within an hour's drive away. We certainly enjoyed our stay there and will be very happy to return some day.
We stayed here for a week in August 2022 having booked very late. The chalet accommodated 4 of us without feeling overcrowded. It provided everything we needed for our holiday. It was a bit bare with all soft furnishings removed for Covid reasons. A few pictures on the walls would give it a bit of character. We only found out about seating area above the house on our last night which was a pity. The location is perfect with a nice walk to Tullycross village on a quiet road. We would really recommend this chalet for someone looking for a base for an activity based stay. Thanks Kenneth and Shiel...more
Stayed here in June 2022 with my wife and parents in law. We loved it! The cottage was beautifully located on the northern shore of Kylemore lake, in an area that is both dark and quiet at night. The host, Geraldine, was friendly and helpful, and she even allowed us to plug our Electric Vehicle in at the house to charge it. The cottage was close to Kylemore Abbey, Letterfrack and Connemara National Park, but Clifden and even Westport in County Mayo were perfectly doable in terms of driving time.
We really enjoyed our stay at Tigh Bhrendain. If you love remoteness, quiet and wonderful views then I can recommend this house to you. We certainly felt at home there and will miss all the above. The caretaker was friendly . We had a small problem with having no hot water in the sinks ( a bit tricky for washing up or shaving), but we made do with boiling the kettle. Our week there was a memorable one.
We were very happy in a very comfortable house in a good location, ten minutes from Clifden. We will be back again.
A wonderfully equipped cottage in the most stunning of locations, overlooking Diamond Hill. The cottage had everything we could need, in addition to some very thoughtful little touches. And to top it all off, it welcomes our four-legged friends. Will definitely book again next time I’m visiting. Thank you for the hospitality.
Wonderful location , perfect for exploring the glorious area of Connemara. Our first impression of Oak Lodge was that it looked rather neglected & the exterior& garden in need of attention. The grass was cut later in the week. The interior would have benefitted from a good airing as there was a strong musty, stale smell in the living rooms so not very welcoming. However, the beds were very comfortable & bedding& duvets clean & fresh.
Lovely apartment with very helpful owners and a cute dog. Very modern and clean. The bathroom in the main bedroom was a little strange other than that it was perfect.
The cottage is beautiful located, cosy and well equipped. Unfortunately the cleaning was very superficial. Obvious places were well cleaned but everywhere else, on shelfs, in niches, behind and beneath furniture there was a black mixture of spiderwebs and dust. It definitely needs basic cleaning.
We made our reservation with Connemara and Mayo Cottages. They were easy to contact, very helpful and gave us excellent service and instructions. We stayed a Watersedge Mulranny. The house is in a beautiful setting and with far reaching views of the water. Brilliant as a base to discover the wonderful County of Mayo. On arrival we were greeted by the housekeeper who made us feel very welcome and was available for contact during our stay. We had all the facilities that were mentioned and all we needed. We especially enjoyed the log fire in the evenings.
Very relaxing break in a spacious house with some of the best views in the land. Would highly recommend. We were able to travel to other places nearby for day trips and even the village was a nice spot for some food or a few pints. Nice beaches were close by and also was able to get a bit of fishing in from the rocks and the pier. The owner was very helpful. Being able to collect your eggs each morning from the chickens was a nice touch for my young children
Everything was good about this property except no instructions on how to work dish washer, heating etc. Also house difficult to recognise from the photo.
It is a very nice place to stay as the view from the cottage on the sea is wonderfull. The cottage is very well equipped. The caretaker is very efficient and helpfull. Nevertheless there is room for improvement; the heating system is poor: the command for the heating is remote and as far as I understood, only the owner is allowed to change the program (hours of heat and temperature). The day you want to stay at the cottage, you will have no heating at some hours. There is stove though but you have to buy the wood or peat
We had a wonderful stay at Caher house and were welcome by Theresa whom was always reachable on the phone if needed - the location is easy to find and in front of a small lake - about 15min from Clifden city which is perfect to plan activities in Connemara area. Count almost one hour though to rallye Galway but honestly Clifden beats it for authenticity and pubs like Lowry's just make it a place to go. The house is huge and over equipped with multiple bath/shower/toilets which is perfect for a stay with multiple couples - but there is a twin room which could be fine for kids. Would definitivel...more
We stayed in this house for a week and could not fault it. It was spotlessly clean and had everything. It's an older house so it only has 1 bathroom but this didn't cause us any problems as a family of 6. It's in good condition. It is close to the road but with trees in front of the house it provides plenty of screening so it's not noisy. There's a massive garden so loads of room for the kids to kick a ball in. House may not be suitable for very young kids ie toddlers. House is very close to some beautiful beaches and is very well located. 4 decent sized bedrooms the house can comfortably slee...more
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. Lovely and cosy and only a 2 minute drive to the fabulous Old Head Beach. The house provided everything we needed for our stay and Bruce was nearby should we have needed anything. So many beaches nearby, the lovely village of Louisburgh and many scenic spots. We would definitely recommend this house
We had a wonderful week at the cottage..Moira was so welcoming & lovely..This is truly a special hideaway in beautiful Nature..So quiet but just a 2 min drive or 10 min walk to the most spectacular beaches in Ireland..Wild, Stunning Connemara's Atlantic & Mountainous weather patterns are constantly changing & the diffrrening shades of colour and light makes this such a sought after destination..The Majestic Mountains surround the cottage adding to the uniqueness of this little gem of find for lucky enough to stay here. Highly recommended
We thoroughly enjoyed our few days at the cottage in Cashel. It was surrounded by magnificent scenery and Mrs Flagherty, the Housekeeper, was wonderfully helpful. We would certainly go there again. Our only issue was not very powerful shower and bath towels were too small.
The cottage is situated on a hill overlooking Dogs Bay with spectacular views from the front door. It is between two properties but still private and very cosy. Less than 10 min walk from the beautiful beaches and dunes of dogs bay, and only a few mins drive from the lovely village of Roundstone. Ellie was a super helpful and accommodating host. I highly recommend this cottage to experience the beauty of Connemara.
This house was a big disappointment and far too expensive for the cheap fittings and fixtures. Everything was poor quality and done on the cheap. Linen was synthetic except for the towels. Kitchen was sparsely furnished, bathrooms tiny and poorly finished with no toilet paper, soap, not even a toilet brush!!!, The living area floors were laminate wood effect. ThThere was nothing which you would expect from a house costing this, really felt we had been cheated. The exterior was miserable with no sense of care or comfort. On top of all this we were asked to strip the beds, clean the whole house ...more
Beautiful location there are just a few things that should be sorted with the property. The house has damp on the inner walls in the bedrooms which leave a musty smell not good for people with chest ailments. The incline up to the gate badly needs repairing as there is a large pothole and a lot of loose gravel that cause the wheels to spin as you drive through the gate. The heating within the cottage needs to be updated it states on a laminated piece of paper on the wall in the kitchen that the fire heats the back boiler which it certainly doesnt. I found that out when the immersion switch wen...more
The house is a lovely spacious house, we were 4 adults, teenager & baby and space wasn't an issue. We needed to call the owner to clarify location & they were very helpful & kind. The house itself is very very remote. It is a solid 10 minute drive from the village & the road is not safe to walk so thats not an option. The road to the house itself is just the width of one car so if you meet anything it means someone reversing to the closest gateway. These are not necessarily negatives I just would have preferred knowing in advance exactly how remote the house was. There are sheep wandering free...more
On arrival at the property we discovered the agent was not expecting us so the house key was not there and after several phone calls we eventually got in when the house keeper arrived. The house had not been cleaned and no beds made up. The fridge was dirty and no loo paper or kitchen paper etc supplied. The agent did give us a refund in fairness but 1st impressions are so important. Also we had no TV or microwave available
Par contre vue mer assez éloignée et ca...more
We had a lovely stay in the house but it’s not five star although we paid a five star price for it. Found the owner very helpful all week especially when we arrived to a very leaking tap and subsequent flooding of the kitchen floor, plumber removed on the Monday morning , only wondering why this wasn’t noticed or sorted before our arrival. A lot of things were malfunctioning in the house but I gave up ringing her as I could have rang her every day wondering why different things weren’t working. beds were very uncomfortable bar one, I think mattresses are very out of date on some of the beds. ...more
Although the house was comfortable enough, the shower barely dribbled and there wasn’t enough hot water for 2 baths so I’ve no idea how 6 would manage. The view of the sea is completely blocked by trees and so you just see a field. Very poor value I thought for an expensive house rental.
This apartment is down a small alley next to a pub. The location was great as it was only a few minutes drive from Kylemore Abbey and you could walk to Connemara National park. However, the property itself was very damp and cold. Constantly lots of moisture on the bathroom floors. There was loads of webs and spiders around the apartment when we arrived so we had to clean it ourselves before we unpacked.
