Welcome to our family owned apt,set in a relaxed rural village,where the friendly locals are always ready for a chat.

Maire Rua Self Catering Apartment is a spacious 4-bedroomed apartment situated in the centre of Kilfenora with all local amenites within easy walking distance. The apartment is finished to a high standard with Oak flooring and teak windows and doors as well as glass-pannelling making the apartment light and airy. Two of the bedrooms contain en-suite bathrooms with electric showers and there is a main bathroom with a Bath and Shower unit. The apartment can sleep 7 adults comfortably with 3 double rooms and a smaller single room. Utilities include ample parking, washing and drying facilities, standard cooking and food storage and microwave. TV and Radio are all available as well as high-speed broadband.

Park your car,enjoy the welcome pack of Tea & homemade scones. Visit the Burren centre & Kilfenora music room. Visit the 13th century cathedral with its time line (history of Cathedral and high crosses). Enjoy good food & music in the village also some nice local walks.

Take a walking tour or hire a bike & explore the Burren. Visit Fr Ted's for afternoon tea (booking essential) & continue to the perfumery.

Explore the lovely villages dotted around North Clare where you can enjoy Golf, Swimming, surfing, Horse riding, fishing & lots more.
Take a trip to the Aran Islands from Doolin just 12 km away or view the cliffs of Moher from Land or Sea.
We have storage for bikes surf boards ect. & an area to dry wet gear.
Bicycle hire just two doors up - whizz-e.ie . Father Ted cycle tours available.

Oil heating and Electricity meter are charged as extra.

Nora is a lady made us very welcome very helpful great location great value. Have booked again with Nora roll on 2019 holiday!

We had a great time. The place was very clean and the beds where comfortable. We met Nora when we first arrived, a lovely lady who made us bread for our arrival. No complaints what so ever. The place is 30 mins from Ennis, 20 mins from the cliffs. There are 3 pubs and 2 shops. Definitely couldn't fault the apartment.

The 4 bedroom apartment was absolutely perfect for our family of seven (three couples and a single), Nora O'Gorman was in touch with us throughout our stay, and could not do enough for us. She is charming and thoughtful, and sent me emails almost everyday.. I understand that her husband Michael, who is a joiner, designed and provided all the wooden doors, wooden flooring etc all of which is beautifully polished and maintained. The crockery, cutlery, pot and pans were more than we needed. The wifi worked from everywhere, but best from the dining room. Beds were very comfortable. but possibly the furniture/curtains in the living could be updated. Everything in the apartment was spotless.Car parking is good for one car, and our other car was parked a minute away, safely in front of the Burren Centre. Hot water was fine via a timer,and the two electric showers were great. but the central heating on a cold evening didn't quite get to some bedrooms - I suspect the radiators needed bleeding for air pockets.

The location in Kilfenora was perfect for us to tour the Burren, Ennistymon cascades, Moher Cliffs, Galway City and Connemara. We would particularly recommend Tony Kirby's guided walks of the Burren, which start 1 minute from the Apartment outside the Burren Centre at 10.30am on Tu/Wed/Thur and 2.15pm on Friday. We found Linnanes Pub, 2 minutes walk, to be the most convenient and friendly to pop in for a late drink, music night at 9.15pm on Wednesdays. And so many quality places to eat, the best for a special meal is Baartra at Lahinch.

I would thoroughly recommend this apartment for a group of 4-7 persons, and may well return ourselves one day.
