My husband, two children and I had a wonderful 4 nights relaxing at The Forge this summer. The layout of the property suited our family so well, meaning we had lots of space but also a feeling of togetherness when playing/cooking/eating/watching/relaxing. The grounds were so tranquil and well thought through, with gardens that are linked but still private and the children loved playing in the splash pool every morning. The house was as ever comfortable well equipped .. it’s many spaces excellent for our needs.. service was perfect and we had a wonderful time. We loved the new to us hot pool
There are things which need sorting. There is a trip hazard out of the kitchen where there is a gap, the decking is lethal and extremely slippery with a couple of us having very near misses with slipping over. The bins weren’t emptied as stated in the brochure there were no salt pepper oil etc and only 1 toilet roll per toilet. The sofas were extremely uncomfortable and not suitable for 6. There is a strong aroma of gas in the local area too. There was however a lovely hamper of local produce which was really appreciated. I wouldn’t return.
An excellent property, with many of it's original details, ideal for our large family gathering. Great rural location but with several activities and games to keep the children occupied. i.e table tennis, badminton, croquet etc.
