The Colloquy is an exclusive-use venue located at the heart of the Whittern Estate. It is a stunning conversion of the Estate's Victorian stable-yard, which now enjoys modern luxury and excellent leisure facilities. Designed with imagination and flair, these historic Victorian stable buildings use space to its best advantage, creating a very special environment for business or pleasure.
I have been doing these short UK breaks with family and friends for over 20 years, at various locations. This was our 3rd stay at the Colloquy, and I have to say this is our favourite. Jo and her team have always made us feel very much at home. The staff are invisible, but always available. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and of a high standard. Beautiful groins and facilities. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a get together!
We had a lovely stay at The Forge. The living space is perfect for a relaxed catch up - we were friends getting together for a 50th birthday weekend after not seeing each other for two years. The sofas and dining area were perfect (can’t recommend it enough), and the tasty extras, particularly the cheese, butter and nibbles, were very much appreciated! All in all we were delighted - exactly what we wanted (with very comfy sofas) - although the spiral staircases were narrower than expected and a proper test for us 50 year olds .
We arrived early on a warm evening, to a delicious welcome mini hamper. At first my wife had difficulty negotiating the staircase but soon mastered it with use.
The cottage had all you would need for a comfortable stay and more. Fluffy white towels for indoor use, cotton sheets and several pillows. Shower above bath and 2x toilets. TV, free wi fi, electric and microwave ovens, fridge, freezer and washing machine. The hot tub was a bonus and was lovely to relax in after a busy day site seeing. As the name suggests Field Cottage is in a quiet situation among vineyards, apple orchard and blackcu...more
The Sheriffs is a stunning property set in beautiful countryside. We were there to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. On the first night we had champagne in the hot tub and then a barbecue in the pretty garden - sitting at a long table.
There was plenty of room for our party of 14 with multiple reception rooms - the most stunning being a large lounge with three sofas surrounding a large inglenook fireplace. Four of the seven rooms had ensuites. Some of the bathrooms were a little tired and could do with an update. The kitchen was well equipped but could also do with a bit of an upgrade.
