The Colloquy is an exclusive-use venue located at the heart of the Whittern Estate. It is a stunning conversion of the Estate's Victorian stable-yard, which now enjoys modern luxury and excellent leisure facilities. Designed with imagination and flair, these historic Victorian stable buildings use space to its best advantage, creating a very special environment for business or pleasure.
Whilst the house overall was excellent and the location beautiful. The house was too hot and the water was also so very hot.
The kitchens although good needed individually to be better supplied with utensils and crockery. All of them should have scissors, sadly we had none at all. The hand mixer was broken and one of the hairdryers also broken. Family room 3 and 4 needs a kettle and a little fridge.
We all felt that more fridge space was needed, perhaps a large American fridge in The Whisper kitchen. We had seven families and there was not enough chiller space for all of us. We used th...more
We had a lovely stay at The Forge. The living space is perfect for a relaxed catch up - we were friends getting together for a 50th birthday weekend after not seeing each other for two years. The sofas and dining area were perfect (can’t recommend it enough), and the tasty extras, particularly the cheese, butter and nibbles, were very much appreciated! The kitchen was lacking a casserole dish big enough to cater for six people, there were no plastic ...more
Lovely house in a great location. Many rooms offering safety and comfort to all.some chairs need DIY and the kitchen sink needs replacing also some window frames need filling and painting especially over the cellar area. This would bring the house up to the rest standard wise in the house.
The location of the property was lovely with great views from the decked terrace. The property itself felt rather dated and shabby however. The sofas were uncomfortable and the faux fur throws were off putting. The kitchen really needs updating although it was well stocked with equipment.
The shower doors of the over bath shower are too short to prevent water from the shower spraying out beyond the doors so had to stand against the wall to stop too much water spraying onto the floor. There was no hair dryer provided which is very unusual in my experience of using self catering cottages over...more
