Potters Rest is a lovely little lodge on the main river at Potter Heigham. It’s a short walk from the car parks/bus stop.
It was clean and tidy. It’s a little old fashioned and has a mismatch of pots and pans, which was no problem for us. The mattresses could probably do with replacing as they were quite soft and creaky.
There was virtually everything you need including an iron. There is no hairdryer and no towels so take your own. Electricity is via pond coins but the owner must have filled it first as I only put £4 in - may not have needed to. Wi fi is free and reliable which was necessary as we couldn’t get a good phone internet signal.
The fishing was great. It was very peaceful even in the height of season.
Nearest beaches:
Winterton beach is soft sand, dog friendly and not crowded.
Sea Palling is a beautiful beach which is partly dog friendly and it has water break bays where the sea is calmer.
We love Potter Heigham and have been holidaying there for years but it was the first time at Potters Rest. We will definitely book again for this lodge as we had a lovely peaceful holiday.
