A two bedroom self catering cottage with two spacious double/twin rooms. Bathroom with bath and separate large walk in shower. Well equipped kitchen with dining area. Sitting room with log burner and TV/portable speaker. Large garden with table/chairs and barbie.

The School House is in an attractive location, centrally located to see Mid Argyll attractions.

The School House is a well kitted and thoroughly modernised old School House. We found it very comfortable and well located to see the many historical attractions of mid Argyll.

Ederline’ a communications about our holiday booking were excellent and access was easy. May be good to know that the eastern road up Loch Awe is closed long term from Ford restricting access to that area. There was everything we needed at the property. The location is good if you’re looking for a holiday with modest interests and drives rather than hiking! We enjoyed gardens such as Arduane (pronounced ‘Ardoony’) and Crarae, heritage such as Kilmartin Museum - recently upgraded, Skipness Castle + Smokehouse and Seafood Cabin, and coastal scenery at Ardfern, Crinan, Tayvallich, Kilberry and Skipness.

We loved our 2 week stay at Finchairn Farmhouse with our two dogs. We had originally booked the school house and was upgraded as the school house was unexpectedly unavailable. Thank you for the upgrade as the scenery was stunning. We so enjoyed waking up each morning to the fabulous scenery and the spectical of the acrobatic house martins. A few other highlights of being on a working farm was coming back from a walk to the relaxing sound of the birds and farm animals. Also sitting in front of the roaring wood burner after a satisfying day out exploring the many wonderful things to do in the area. During our stay we had the privilege to be entertained by watching some sheep shearing! We were determined to make it a couple of times up to the high lochs. It was well worth the hike for the scenery and seeing the sun set. Our hosts Willa and Archie were very accommodating and lovely. I was particularly impressed how they valued the protecting of the wildlife and care of the farm animals. We would certainly want to return.

The cottage was lovely and perfectly placed for our purposes. It’s quite tucked away and rural but within driving distance of such beauty. Everything in the cottage was immaculately clean and in good order. The plate of flapjacks in welcome were snapped up.
When I needed a bit of help Willa was on it immediately and was so helpful.
Only one small niggle. I would be nice to get a cuppa after a long drive to get there, as the nearest shop we found was about 15 mins away. There were a few teabags but no sugar or milk.
