South Lodge is a charming single-storey self-catering holiday cottage, privately situated and tucked into the edge of the woodland. Set in an elevated position, the cottage enjoys lovely views across to the main estate house, the loch, and the hills beyond.

Accessed via three steps, you enter through the porch into the cottage. On the right is the spacious bedroom with a super-king handmade oak four poster bed. The bedroom is beautifully furnished with fitted cupboards, a chest of drawers, and a dressing table. Two windows overlook the surrounding woods and lawns, creating a peaceful and restful atmosphere.

The sitting room is a cosy space to unwind, featuring a log burner, comfortable sofa and armchair, flat-screen TV/DVD, and docking station. Dual windows frame delightful views across the estate.

The well-equipped kitchen provides everything you need for a relaxed self-catering stay, including a fridge freezer, washing machine, electric cooker, hob and microwave.

The bathroom includes a large walk-in Aqualisa shower with excellent water pressure, along with a basin and WC.

Outside, South Lodge has its own private garden, mainly laid to lawn and furnished with garden seating and a mobile barbecue—perfect for summer evenings. If you’re quiet, you may be lucky enough to spot red squirrels visiting the bird table.

An open shed offers ideal storage for bikes or a roof box, and there is ample off-road parking. A large log shed is also provided, logs included free of charge.

South Lodge is available for short stays, with a minimum stay of three nights. During July and August we aim to offer weekly lets from Saturday to Saturday, though please do enquire—late availability may allow for more flexibility. Arrival is from 5pm, giving us time to ensure the cottage is fully prepared for your stay.

South Lodge has everything you need for a relaxing getaway and truly offers a home from home experience.

A few days stay at an idyllic location, in a warm and comfortable cottage, with the priceless bonus of daily encounters with Red Squirrels through the kitchen window.

We were so happy we had this little cottage as a home for a week. It was cosy, cheerful, and very comfortable. We were confused at first by the heating and appliances but that was totally our fault! All our questions were promptly answered and there were no worries.

This is our second visit to Ederline. Willa the host is very welcoming and South Lodge is very cosy. We slept well in the luxuriously comfortable bed and really enjoyed the beautiful walks on the estate.
The property had everything we needed including good WiFi and phone signal if that is important.
It is well placed for good walking and visits to many historical sites such as Kilmartin Glen.
We also enjoyed feeding the birds and red squirrels who live in the wood just behind the property.
The only thing I would say if you are visiting with a dog the garden is not secure although it is not near a main road. It may be a problem for some people but it wasn’t for us.

My first time in South Lodge after many visits to stay in Clachandubh. Utter peace, gorgeous views and a well-equipped base for many local places of interest. I haven't slept so well for a long time ! Deliciously cool retreat on the three days of crazily high temperatures (29° on one of them), but a bit on the cool side my first evening when the technology defeated me ! I also found the stove difficult to operate without any instructions. Willa and Angus always come to the rescue ! A total delight, and zi can't wait to return.

A return visit for me so I knew what I to expect and that's a lovely cottage on a well kept and scenic very estate. Multiple local walks around the estate, Loch Ederline and around the local area were enjoyed, helped by annotated maps provided in the information pack. Some walks are fairly rugged but others, like the nearby Poltalloch estate, can be taken fairly gently. The cottage is well equipped with everything that's usually needed and the bird feeder viewed though the kitchen window attracts all sorts of wildlife. And then there's all the history around Kilmartin area. Variety of local shops, petrol station, etc in nearby Lochgilphead (the fishmonger is very good!)

Perfect cottage for us and our 2 spaniels. Really cosy especially with the log burner on. Rural position, lots of walking from the doorstep. Had everything we needed.

South Lodge is a beautiful cottage on a beautiful location. Every thing you need is in the cottage. It has a comfy bed a great big shower and a lovely kitchen. The wood burner is also great but we didn't need it.
Willa was a great host and checked everything was OK which it was.
The farm and area are absolutely gorgeous for walks and very remote. Tesco do deliver there so this was helpful as not a lot about please don't book to stay in South Lodge as I want to go back and live there.
100% recommended.
