The School Room is a spacious and private retreat, tucked away behind The School House and set on the edge of the village, just a short walk from the shores of Loch Awe. Designed as a stylish and elegant escape for two, this unique property combines comfort, character, and a real sense of occasion.
The open-plan mezzanine bedroom overlooks the sitting room below and features a beautiful hand made oak four-poster super-king bed with a luxury mattress, creating a light-filled and elegant space.
The well-equipped kitchen provides everything you need to prepare meals with ease, including a dishwasher, microwave, and washing machine. The bathroom is generously sized, offering a large, deep bath alongside a spacious walk-in shower—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.
Below the bedroom, the cosy sitting room is the heart of the property, complete with a welcoming log burner, dining area, and a comfortable sofa and armchair. Entertainment includes Freesat TV, Wi-Fi, DVD player, and a Sonos music system, making it ideal for relaxed evenings in.
A large front porch leads into the kitchen and provides ample space for coats and outdoor gear. To the rear of the property, a smaller porch opens from the sitting room into the garden—once the old school playground. Many original features have been thoughtfully preserved, including the original floor, still marked with the historic badminton court lines, adding charm and a unique sense of history to this special place.
Outside, the property is accessed via a large private driveway, with outbuildings available for storing bikes, roof boxes, and other outdoor equipment. Guests also have use of a well-stocked log shed. The private garden is laid mainly to lawn and features outdoor seating and a barbecue—an ideal spot to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. A perfect getaway for two.
The School Room is entirely open plan and, for this reason, we regret that we are unable to accept dogs at this property. The School Room is available for short breaks, with a minimum stay of three nights. During July and August, we generally operate weekly lets from Friday to Friday; however, please do enquire, as we are happy to assist where late availability allows.
