There's a feeling of calm as soon as you park up outside this cottage, which we have stayed in many times before. The high level of comfort and cleanliness never disappoints. Even if the weather is variable it doesn't matter as it's so relaxing just to spend time in the cottage enjoying the views with the occasional roe deer walking past.

Another fabulous stay in a wonderful location. Although inside could do with a good update as parts are looking tired. However, it is good value, and if the price didn’t go up for Christmas (no idea why it is more expensive because you get nothing extra) we would be back this year.
Still lacking coat hangers! And no welcome pack this time!
Wonderfully quiet location, and a secure garden for our dog.
Gorgeous area of Scotland with fantastic beaches, and lots of wildlife in the countryside.

This is the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. It is ideally situated in a calm, rural environment with views across the fields to the sea and farm land behind. No street lights so perfect for dark sky gazing and plenty of wild life to spot during the day. The A75 is easily accessible for travelling further afield. The cottage itself is fully equipped with easy to use appliances and spotlessly clean. We will certainly be returning in the future.

If you want to wake up to the sound of the woodpecker drumming and the pheasant calling instead of traffic driving past this is the place to be. The air is fresh and the surrounding green fields so calming and that's before I talk about the cottage itself which is perfectly equipped and excellently maintained. Not far from the A75 so easy to find and within easy access to shops at Kircudbright the Artist's town and for a spot of culture. We have been coming to this cottage for many years and it never fails to please with the added bonus that we can take our cat. So many cottage say they're pet friendly but will only accommodate dogs. We hope to carry on visiting Chapelton No 1 for many years to come.

The cottage isn't too far off the beaten track, but a world away from hustle and bustle. You can see the sea from the front window and woodland from the back. The air is fresh and there's just a sense of calm and at night total darkness for start gazing. The cottage itself is well appointed with easy to use equipment and very clean. The wildlife won't disappoint either, deer, brown hares , red kites and buzzards are easily seen. A week here will recharge the batteries.

The house is in a lovely quiet location and we have stayed before. A couple of things I forgot to leave a note about - light bulb in washing machine cupboard not working along with one light with no bulb (back door) and another also blown (back bedroom). Also, the smoke alarm was beeping on our last morning due to low battery so maybe need to replace them regularly
