Situated next to the Clock Tower Apartment within the courtyard at Bowhill House, this two bedroom self-catering apartment is ideally suited for a family or two couples looking to explore the wider estate and all that the Scottish Borders has to offer.

A fantastic homely property in a wonderful location to escape to.

We found Bowhill House last year whilst visiting Peebles and were so impressed with the estate and what it had to offer that it was fantastic when we found that properties were available for holiday let’s which fitted our needs.
The Bothy is situated in a quiet courtyard at Bowhill House, entranced by a few steps with handrail. It is furnished to a high standard, clean and well kitted out with all the modern conveniences, microwave, dishwasher, washer, fridge freezer, tv etc., and a good supply of kitchen equipment. Having access to the estate at all times is tremendous and wonderful to have early morning / evening walks with our dog around the lochs surrounded by so many birds and nature.
Communication with the staff at Bowhill House was excellent and timely, from enquiries, booking, final balance payment and access details to the property on the date of arrival. A detailed written property guide was available in the property and also sent electronically in advance which was open and honest about any potential flaws, e.g. possible poor mobile signals, lack of outdoor private space, Bowhill House closure. This was great as we had no surprises on our arrival.
Our stay at The Bothy was peaceful and tranquil. Staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgable and respectful of your privacy. It is obvious the team take great pride in their work and this is clearly reflected in how well organised the courtyard, café and grounds are looked after.
Can’t wait to return to continue our exploration of the area.

Two people stay for 3 days fishing on the estates Middle Ettrick beat. The stay in the Bothy was very good also value for money the fishing also good lovely place to stay. Just 1 niggle the parking to fish the pools a bit difficult to find a bit more signage would help big thanks to Ivor for his advice and help to find the parking and the pools.

Great location, very clean and comfortable apartment.
Lovely to arrive and find milk and a cake. Much appreciated when arriving late after a long drive.
It was out of high season for our stay which meant there were few people about and we could come and go as we pleased, parking in the court yard easily.
We could hear noise and movement from the upstairs apartment but it is a converted old building so you have to take this into account when you are staying.
Overall, loved our apartment and hope to stay again one day.

Used to work on Bowhill Estate over 40 years ago and decided to return for a wee "looksee". The accommodation has changed greatly since we left and we were very pleased with all aspects and the helpfulness of the Buccleuch staff, both during booking and whilst staying in "The Bothy". A comfortable place to stay if you just wish to enjoy the peace of the place, or use it as a centre for getting to know the Scottish Borders. But, please don't all rush at once! We would like to return.
