Algarth is a cosy bungalow in Stromness, located a short walk from all town centre amenities and transport links, which makes Algarth an ideal base for a family, or couples wishing to explore the many sights and attractions that Orkney has to offer.

Kitchen was well equipped except for the fact that there was only one frying pan.

Bathroom and shower very good.

This is the second time I've stayed at Algarth, and I didn't even look at other properties when I was planning my holiday. It's clean, comfortabble and well presented with all the equipment you would need. It's almost literally just round the corner from the ferry terminal at Stromness, and within walking distance of Stromness itself. The house was only built a few years ago so it's still new and fresh. Definitely recommend

Algarth is a new build literally just round the corner from the ferry terminal at Stromness. Situated in a small estate, and within walking distance of Stromness, the house is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, cosy, and comfortable. The fixtures and fittings are all modern and the owner has helpfully left a folder with the instruction leaflets for the appliances, the shower and the heating system - I especially recommend reading the latter two! I don't know if the windows are double or triple glazed, but they completely shut out the (rare) noises from outside, The location is ideal for exploring the islands. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby or in Kirkwall which is about a 15 minute drive away. All in all, a great base for a holiday.
