Two Queens Houses has been renovated to a very high standard from its humble beginnings as lodgings for the Forestry Commission and is nestled in the small hamlet of Glenmore. Two Queens Houses has a hot tub and sauna both with stunning views of The Cairngorms.

The view of The Cairngorms along with the magical setting is what makes Two Queens Houses very special. Loch Morlich is just across the road which is famous for its sandy beaches and fresh water.

We had a wonderful week in 2 Queens Houses, Aviemore. Thé location was perfect for walking and cycling. The views from the house are spectacular, watching the weather changes on the Cairngorms was fascinating. The house itself was very comfortable and very well equipped. Having a hot tub and sauna was a huge bonus, the family loved relaxing there after a day out walking. The house is very spacious with plenty of room to be together or having your own space. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone who loves this part of the country. A very minor disappointment was the furniture in the living room, perhaps it could be replaced with something that could be wiped clean as it seemed to attract dust and fluff.

All in all we had a very positive experience and would have no hesitation in returning again. Also the next door neighbours were very friendly.

We booked this house for my Mum's 70th birthday weekend. 10 of us stayed, including 2 children and 2 dogs and we all loved the property. The beds were super comfy, the quality of the furniture and furnishings were luxurious and all the rooms were spotless and clean. Everything was provided and in working order with no issues at all. The hot tub and sauna were a huge hit with everyone and we made good use of these facilities each day. I don't think there is anything I would change apart from the elderly folk found the stairs a bit slippy and thin but they should have brought their slippers!

The location is perfect with a short walk to Loch Morlich and also into the hills. We all walked up to the Green Lochan and then enjoyed a soak in the tub after. We also walked along to the Pine Martin for some scran which was awesome.

All in all, this is an a fabulous house in a superb location and we have only positive feedback. Loved it. Thank you.

We had a lovely Christmas holiday at Two Queens Houses and were very lucky to have snow falling on Christmas Day followed by a gorgeous and sunny Boxing Day. There are a loads of fantastic walks on your door step including the Loch Morlich Circular and the walk to An Lochan Uaine (Green Loch).
The house is very comfortable, tastefully renovated, and with magnificent views from the window especially after snow. There are loads of bathrooms which was great. The walls are a bit thin so you can hear everything between rooms but with a family group it didn't matter. The house is very well equipped - probably better than most holiday homes although there were a few things missing that I would have liked - oven gloves, apron, more tea towels (I took my own). I also really missed having a big soup pot. We were 10 people but there was really nothing to make a big soup in. There's a coffee plunger but no coffee machine however you can get coffee at the delightful Rothiemurchus Cafe near Aviemore.
We lost power for about 24 hours due to Storm Gerrit but the wood fire kept us warm. However, it was very dark (no candles and the torch had flat batteries) and we foraged in the Christmas leftovers as there was no way of cooking either.
Both sets of neighbours were very nice with one of them coming to check on us during the power outage and offering to make a cup of tea since they were equipped for it. That was nice of them.

We had very good relaxing time.

The Lodge was lovely, enough space for all of as. Kids had great time in the hot tub. Everything was there what we need it. Unfortunately neighbour on the left wasn't so friendly, he was actually very rude to us but apart of that we loved every minute if it and we would recommend it.

Our second time at Two Queens and would definitely visit again. House is spacious and great for a weekend away with friends and loads of amazing walks on your doorstep.
The previous time we visited robes were provided for getting to/from the hot tub but these are no longer provided despite being advertised. We understand great north lodges are now going to edit this.
For the next time we would appreciate oven gloves, washing up liquid and spare bin bags, especially as everything into one bin. Not major items but easy to fix and make future stays run without a hitch!
Thanks and look forward to returning.

The location, sauna and hot tub are the biggest attractions to this property. We went on many local walks right from the doorstep and it couldn't have been better for our dogs and walking with the pram and our young baby. The enclosed garden was brilliant and meant we could safely let our dogs and children outside without any worry. The beds were very comfy with plenty bathrooms and toilets to accommodate, although one of the showers had no hot water until we got someone in to look at it but couldn't fix it. I wouldn't quite say it was equipped for 10 people as there were only 8 of every dish and it had limited seating in the kitchen, livingroom and outside areas. Although enough space throughout it was scattered and difficult for us all to sit together comfortably. Having the wifi details and some relevant info on the app was helpful in the run up but it would be useful to have the wifi code in the welcome booklet as it was impossible to get on to the wifi without any service in this remote area. Not an issue to many but we required it to work our baby monitor so was quite essential to us. We had to leave the property to drive a bit to get enough service to phone customer services to get the info we needed.
The property was clean enough but there were a few unpleasant surprises with dirty dishes, filthy kettle (which was replaced immediately) Hoover and washing machine (which was full of used towels etc and smelly when we arrived and required extensive cleaning out before we could use it)
The property was also very busy with people coming in and out to check the hot tub, wash windows etc which some of was mentioned in the booklet but not ideal if you are seeking complete privacy or if you were wanting to use the hot tub at these times.
Being in such a beautiful and picturesque location we expected to have better recycling facilities which we felt were disappointing and very negligent to the environment.
Customer services were truly excellent, understanding and always on hand to help or advise. Thank you.
We had a great holiday here and would stay here again but not sure we'd pay quite as much as we did this time as it was very pricey considering all of the above points.

Thank you for your detailed review. We have added the wifi password to the digital welcome pack so you have it in advance of arrival. The property has been supplied with enough crockery, cutlery etc for 10 people. The company that maintain the hot tub do need access to ensure it is kept to a high standard, we are sorry if the timings of this were inconvenient We do hope to welcome you back again.

After a very long journey all we wanted was a cup of tea, to our disappointment great north lodges no longer do a starter pack which is a little disappointing when your accommodation is so far from a shop. The next morning I washed my hair expecting there should be at least one hairdryer in the property no there wasn’t one.this issue was never resolved so had to buy one.

The property is of a good standard the utility room for drying the clothes is great, the hot tub and sauna was lovely and the view’s stunning.

Thank you for your feedback. Hairdryers are now in place in Two Queens Houses and we are looking at adding a welcome pack here too.

A cosy retreat in a stunning location. House was comfortable, modern and cleaned to a high standard it had everything you needed to feel home from home. Logs provided were ample for the whole week. Views of the Cairngorm Mountain Range from the living room are spectacular. Amazing walks just outside the front door. Would definitely stay again!

A beautiful high spec a holiday let, with those added luxuries inside and out . Location was spot on for us for skiing, walks, Loch Morlich the Pine Martin bar & Aviemore.

This property has everything you require for an all year round stay, plenty of space, plenty of bathrooms and it's ideal for dogs too.

We loved it

Overall it was a very pleasant stay in a great house. A couple of minor comments are that there was no hairdryer in the house, there was no slippers (web says they are provided) and a lack of toilet rolls.

We had a lovely view.super rooms hot tub
What we didn’t have was toilet roll washing up liquid we tried contacting housekeeping no reply.
Would advise people when using the cottage that back fence is not secure for small dogs as my dog got out happily we got him back all this made it very stressful and not the relaxing time I had hoped but it is a lovely cottage
