Purchased in 1953, Shady Hall Farm was a working dairy farm until 2006 when Karen and Allan, along with their two children, decided to move back and begin renovating the original buildings. After two years braving life in a caravan, the main Farmhouse was finally ready to live in and in the years since we have worked continuously to complete renovations on the remaining farm buildings. Shady Hall farm now has 3 beautiful self-catering properties; The Stone Barn, The Milking Parlour, and The Cow Shed.
All three have been sympathetically restored in-keeping with the Farmhouse's original exterior. Inside they boast spacious and modern living, with private enclosed gardens and covered hot tubs to relax in all year round.
Located within the Moss Valley and on the border between North East Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, Shady Hall farm offers stunning views across the valley and gives guests a chance to 'escape to the country'.
We were staying at Shady Hall Farm for my daughter’s graduation in Sheffield , we booked all 3 barns so we had the whole farm to ourselves for family to share the event. The Stone Barn is a very well thought out property and I couldn’t fault it, they really have thought of everything especially if you are travelling with dogs.
Even though there was a blanket of snow outside making it our very own little winter wonderland, the barn was exceptionally cosy and warm. The highlight for me was having a private enclosed garden for the dogs it made life so much easier.

Communication from the owners was fantastic from start to finish we couldn’t have asked for more and would highly recommend this property.
Thank you to all at Shady Hall Farm for a wonderful cosy stay.
This property is very well thought out, you have everything you need and is exceptionally dog friendly, you can tell the owner are dog people. The enclosed outside garden is perfect for morning toilet trips. This is a beautiful clean and comfortable place to stay and I will highly recommend it to anyone holidaying with their dogs (or without). The hot tubs are a bonus. There are no negatives.
The communication with the owners was brilliant from start to finish and a lot of thought care and attention is put into all of these properties we would definitely return again one day.
