Purchased in 1953, Shady Hall Farm was a working dairy farm until 2006 when Karen and Allan, along with their two children, decided to move back and begin renovating the original buildings. After two years braving life in a caravan, the main Farmhouse was finally ready to live in and in the years since we have worked continuously to complete renovations on the remaining farm buildings. Shady Hall farm now has 3 beautiful self-catering properties; The Stone Barn, The Milking Parlour, and The Cow Shed.
All three have been sympathetically restored in-keeping with the Farmhouse's original exterior. Inside they boast spacious and modern living, with private enclosed gardens and covered hot tubs to relax in all year round.
Located within the Moss Valley and on the border between North East Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, Shady Hall farm offers stunning views across the valley and gives guests a chance to 'escape to the country'.
We recently stayed at The Stone Barn for 3 nights as a family of 5 adults and 3 children. The property was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, and the living areas felt welcoming. We particularly appreciated the peaceful surroundings, the lovely enclosed garden and the relaxing hot tub.The location of the property was ideal for visiting nearby attractions, while still feeling like a countryside retreat. The owners were friendly, helpful and responsive to our needs.

The directions to find the cow shed were excellent, no problem at all finding the place, and the 1430 check in made it so much more convenient. The milk, scones, jam and cream on arrival were most welcome, plus a bottle of proseco as a birthday treat, from the hosts, as the family get together was to celebrate my wife's birthday. The "Cow Shed" was very well equipped with everything one might need, as well as the very comfortable beds. The Hot Tub provided the perfect touch of luxury, with a great view out over the valley towards Dronfield, from its secluded location in the garden. Space to pa...more
A beautiful conversion providing everything for our stay, including delicious home made scones with clotted cream and jam.
View from the garden was beautiful surrounded by glorious countryside.
Hot tub was a very welcome bonus to relax in and admire the views.
Spotlessly clean and extremely helpful with any of our requests. Even a welcome pack for the dog who loved his stay highly recommend and will book again
