The location is great set in rolling hills in the village of Cowden Beech. With views over the fields. We were the only people staying on site and it was very quiet which was right up our street. The local pub is less than 5 minutes walk. Nice countryside walks over streams, rivers and gently sloping hills. Parking is right beside the property. Entrance hall leading to spacious kitchen/diner, bathroom and bedroom one way. Then a large living dining area the other. We had an enjoyable stay in peaceful, beautiful surroundings. The Granary is spacious, well looked after and very comfortable. Our host was very helpful and easy to get in touch with. The local bonfire night celebrations on the weekend were an added bonus!
We really enjoyed our stay at The Oast House during Christmas also the cosying of the place.It was so lovely, the beams and all furnishings made it so perfect as not so Morden. Loved the walks especially one on the last day. The Hosts were really warm, friendly and were at the end of the line whenever needed. They gave us the history of the place and my boys loved the conversation on Cattle imagine. We are planning to go back for summer. I would recommend the place for anyone who’s dying for Peace and Quiet.
Surrounding area was lovely and there is a very good pub for food in the village 'The Merrie Harriers' just 2 minutes walk away. The cottage was generally very clean and comfortable. We found a few issues regarding general maintenance and left a note for the owner when we left. We did raise one of the issues with the owner when he turned up unannounced, regarding the garden bench which almost collapsed when we sat on it because it was so rotten, but he was quite dismissive and said that it was nearly the end of the season and they don't last forever!
