We had a wonderful stay. The cottage is very comfy and smells of wood. Surrounded by the beautiful contryside. Not far from Loch Ness lake, the beaches and the woods. The owner is very friendly and welcoming.
I spent a week in June working in the beautiful Morayshire area and Marcassie Farm provided the perfect base for my stay. Hazel Studio was a haven of comfort with first class standard of accommodation all within a stunning rural environment - the birdsong and nature were a joy. The friendly team at Marcassie have created a haven that is tended with care and commitment.
What a beautiful, calm, joyful place is Marcassie Farm. The view from the lodge is idyllic, the farm feels alive with activity but not at all busy or crowded. The farm shop is such a treat and offers a range of food and other hand-made items. The lodge itself is a perfect self-contained unit to use as a base - clean and well-maintained. There’s a lovely veranda for sitting outside and listening to the birds. I will certainly be booking another visit for next year!
Oak Lodge & Marcassie Farm afforded me the perfect space/environment to have a 3 month silent meditation retreat. The lodge was very comfortable, cozy & warm. My hosts Betsy & Sven could not have been kinder & willing to resolve any issues I had.
I genuinely enjoyed my stay in the Blackthorn Lodge at Marcaisse farm. I could tell from the beginning that the space had been created and furnished very thoughtfully. In the little kitchen I had everything I needed and wanted, the bed is very comfortable and generally everything is of a high quality standard. There is a lot of daylight inside and a beautiful view into the field, lined with mighty, old trees.
